Dish Network & FitTV

Hi all,
A Dish Network rep just called me to check the new customer satisfaction thing and I think I may have hit on a way to approach the whole no FitTV issue. They have two channels that could easily be replaced by FitTV. The Beauty & Fashion Channel and The Healthy Living Channel. In the week that I've had the Dish, these two channels have shown nothing but 30 minute infomercials. I told the rep that they are wasting their resources by offering these channels with no actual programming unlike FitTV which does have shows that have real merit.
Maybe if more of us were to put it to them that way, our request might be considered sooner.

Hi Violette! I just put in my second request for fittv in the past 6 months now. I figure that if we bug them enough that eventually they should cave. I hope! I just asked them for it politely and said that I thought it would be a worth while channel for them to have. Fittv was something that I was really looking forward to having with satellite and Dish network is the only network I can get out here, and they dont' carry it. How frustrating is that?! Oh well, There are other good things about Satellite that I like.

Hi Kathy! I'm not a big TV watcher. Nigella Bites every Wed a.m., sometimes something on one of the history channels. Kept tuning in to the Beauty channel in the vain hope that I could find something worthwhile on it. How can they advertise it as a The Beauty Channel when it's nothing but infomercials? Very annoying. This was also the 2nd time I talked to them about it. Will do it next month too. The CEO of the company will do occaisional online chats. Trying to find out when the next one is so I can put in my humble plea.

I have called and told them if they don't put it on I will be switching to direct tv (they have fittv), and I mean it. I don't have a contract with dish. It will just be a hassle to return their equipment and change out the satelites. I am really dissatisfied with dish tv for more reasons than this. How many music channels does one service need! Talk about filler!

I would have gone with Armstrong Cable if the choice had been mine. Hubby had to have all the outdoor/hunting/fishing channels and Dish Network is the only one that fit the bill for him. Besides the previous owners of this house left the dish. x(
I just dropped e-mails to both FitTV and Dish Nework. Working the two-pronged approach. This is crazy since Dish seems to have all the Discovery channels with the sole exception of this one. Do they not know that there's an obesity epidemic in the U.S.? Just think of all the people they may be able to introduce to a new, healthy lifestyle by a simple channel addition! }(
Okay, I'm waxing melodramatic :+ Time to climb slooowly (ME related DOMS) off the ole soapbox.
