Discouraged after vacation

Hi Cathe,

I have been using your videos since October (step and PS) and loving the advanced workouts. My normal routine was 6 days a week, a combo of step, weights, some FIRM, and treadmill.

However, I just recently came back from a 2-week trip, then got sick right after for a week. Although I was fairly active while away, doing lots of stairs, swimming, and a few intermediate step classes, when I tried to do just a FIRM tape the other day, I was only able to do half the reps and my legs felt like jelly! I was then sore for 2 days. I don't even dare try one of your tapes! I had no idea I could lose it that much in that time period.

My questions are:
How long will it take me to get back to the level I was before my 3-week hiatus?

How do you suggest I build myself back up?

I really appreciate any suggestions - I'm so discouraged right now. I've lost 35 lbs. this year through portion control and exercise, and I really want to maintain my routine. Thanks for any help.

Hi Jenni,

Don't feel too bad, I'm recovering from major surgery, it's been over four weeks now and while I can workout now (thank you GOD) I wouldn't even think about trying a Cathe tape at this point.

Due to a little thing called "Muscle Memory" I don't think it will take too long for either of us to get back to form...so stick with it.

I spent so much time in bed, that I simple enjoy the art of movement...even if it is at a less advanced level.
