Disappointed in the FitTV version of C&W & an IMAX2 pre...

I did C&W last Friday, and had been looking forward to it all week last week because of all the great things I've read about it on the forums and because of the DVD's description. Right now I only have the FitTV version, and I was really disappointed! So much of that workout was chopped out! Wah! ;( I had printed out a spreadsheet with all the exercises listed and I just couldn't believe how many exercises (including 1 cardio segment) was left out. I was really enjoying the workout, too! x(

I ended up adding on Basic Steps' Upper body workout (minus a couple of exercises that FitTV's C&W actually included, :p), 1 cardio segment from Body Fusion and then, of course, a nice long stretch.

I turned it into a great workout, but I wish I wouldn't have *had* to! :7 Looks like C&W is on my Cathe wish list....;-)

I was looking at the IMAX2 DVD (it comes with C&W :D) and I couldn't figure out if there's a premix that's only the NON interval portion, or maybe a better way to say it is "step only"??? There's a premix that is "blast only", but blast to me is the hard part- the interval parts. Do I have it backwards? :7

I have really enjoyed my off day today (Saturday)! :p I got out of the house and did some grocery shopping and thrift storing early in the day, light gardening in the afternoon, and then went on a nice long motocycle ride (I'm a passenger- not a driver! lol) and tried out a new quaint little cafe in a nearby smalltown. The food was excellent and the ride was calming and exhilirating at the same time. The weather was perfect for a ride!

Oh yeah- I decided on a whim tonight to post my old Firm workouts on ebay to raise some money for a new Cathe DVD- or maybe 2?? :p

Here's a getting and staying fit! *clink*

Connie :D

Connie- I too was very disapointed in C&W from fittv! The workout seemed so short that I went and jumped on my treadmill the one time I did this workout. I have noticed that SJP is also a very short workout on fittv as well as a couple other of her workouts. There is one that leaves out lunges on the left leg and I have to go back and do it. I think it's legs and shoulders. I also want to put my firms and some Karen Voight on ebay as well as taebo. How do you get the picyures on there? I tried to sell coremax there and it didn't sell and I am sure a picture would have helped. I just like abhits so much better then coremax and never use it that often. Any advice on how to get the pic there wouls be appreciated!

Terri

Why are the shorter? Do they need to make time for commercials or do they just not give you the whole workout on purpose? (Sorry, I do'nt watch FitTv).

Christine :)

Christine - yup! They have to make room for commercials and squish it into the allotted time. Some really great workouts show on FitTV but are REALLY chopped up. I didn't realize how much of KPC was mutilated until I bought the DVD. Other ones that are pretty chopped include Bootcamp, Lowmax (I hear), Imax 2...BOO HISS, right? Though I guess it's a teaser so you go buy it ;)

Debbie

Keep in mind that an hour TV show is actually only 45 minutes long to allow for commercials. The coremax on fitTV is in its entirety because it is about 20 minutes in a 30 minute show.

You've got it right: there is no premix that has just the non-blast segments. It would have been nice to have one, but you can make your own by using the "chapter forward" button on your remote, because the chapters are very well placed (at the beginning of the non-blast segments, and at the beginning of the blast segments).

As for FitTV: I've seen part of PLB on fitTV, and they cut out the warm-up!! Probably some other parts as well. Makes no sense to me if they think people are actually working out! I think you have to consider the FitTV workouts as "teasers" for the real workouts. The DVD's have so much more to offer, especially with the premixes.

Hi Terri, fellow ebayer! :)

There are 2 ways to get post pictures on your auction. The easiest way, and this only works for DVDs and VHSs, is to type in the UPC number (the number under the barcode) or type in the full name of the DVD or VHS. I'd say 98% of the time a picture of your DVD or VHS will pop up- it's a stock photo and very helpful! If you check the box to include the DVD info, be sure to read what it says. I've noticed that many times that info isn't helpful at all, and so I just type out the description on the back of the DVD myself.

If you want to use this option, it's part of Step 1 (Category) of selling.

The other way to post a pic on your auction is to take them yourself with a camera. A digital one really helps and saves time- you can just upload the pics you like to your hard drive. You can get pictures made on a CD or even have them "delivered" to you online from Walmart or Target or Walgreens etc.

If you want to use this option, it's part of Step 3 toward the bottom of the page.

Once you have the pics you want to use on your computer, you'll have to upload the picture on Step 3. The first picture is free, after that I think they are 15 cents each.

I hope this helps! ;) If you need some more help, feel free to PM me. I'll be glad to help you out. I wish I had someone to help me when I first started selling stuff on eby! :p

Oooo, LowMax is on Fit TV??!? Cool! I've never come across that one- yet! I'll keep my eye out for it. Of course, now I'll know that it's pretty chopped but at least I'll get a bit of preview. ;) I'll probably end up buying that sometime in the next year...... :p

You're right, I think all the FitTV Cathe workouts ARE teasers. And it's working! LOL I'm working on figuring out which DVD I want to buy.....

Connie :D

Thank you, Kathyrn, for answering my IMAX2 question. :)

I have to admit that I'm baffled why someone would do just the blast segments, though. LOL I'm no way near that advanced-- yet, anway. ;)

It is good to know that I could easily chapter forward and just do the step segements on the DVD if I want to.

Connie :D

Connie-Thanks so much! I will give it a try and if I have any problems I may just have to PM you:)

Thanks again

Terri

I know the workouts on FitTV are cut to pieces but one thing for sure...if it were not for FitTV, I would have never found out about Cathe!!

Cathe made an excellent business decision when she allowed her workouts to be aired on FitTV!

FITXME

I never would have found Cathe either if it weren't for FitTV. It is a shame that the workouts have to be cut but at least they are on FitTv and can be watched. For beginners that are trying to find workouts the segments are enough to make them pass out from exhaustion.:)

Actually, you know, I think this is one of the reasons Gilad is so much more popular than Cathe on FitTV (in their polls and such).... his show is designed for the format, whereas Cathe's is reworked to fit the format.... so his workouts often seem more natural and complete (only 30 min, of course) than Cathe's. Very disappointing, and sometimes dangerous - I find it very hard to change the weights and such in the allotted time and always have to pause the DVDs at those points. I would think that would make things rather daunting for the average viewer who is working out with the show rather than taping and doing it later.

Cheers,
Marie

I agree! I'm so glad that Cathe's workouts are featured on Fit TV. I'm new to Cathe workouts, and sometimes I'm very thankful that some of the workout is cut out. }( :p
