They might be similar but can only speak for BodyRX. You complete 4 cycles 6 weeks each weight lifting is different for each cycle & the protein & carb count is different w/each cycle. I can only speak about PT. With PT you have 3 phases: Conditioning, Fat Burning and Maintenance. You work to raise your metabolism by eating more (I will top out at 3014 calories/day), incorporating strength training sessions and cut out (back) on your cardio. (I still do one cardio session a week for my heart's health.) During Fat Burning, you "rock" you calories up and down during the week. ie 2600, 2400, 2200, 2000, 2600, 2400 2200. You also may add in cardio during this time to increase your weight loss. During the Maintenance Phase, you build your calories back up to ensure that you do not put your body into "starvation mode."
I am in the conditioning phase with 3 more weeks to go before Fat Burning. I can't believe it.
