Diet and Workout Tracking Program

WantFit

Cathlete
Hello, everyone,

I would like to use one system that can track my diet and workout all in one place. Any suggestions?

I tried sparkpeople and fitday. It did not give me the flexibility to manually enter my food and work out if they are not list in their systems. Or maybe I did not do it right.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

You might want to ask this in Ask Cathe or STS as I "think" thats part of the new Workout Manager being released soon
*fingers crossed!!!*

Sparkpeople.com does allow you to enter your own foods that are not in their data base. just go to 'add a food.' Click on 'enter a food not listed' tab after you have looked for it in the regular data base and not found it . Enter it and put in the nutritional information. Remember to save it as a favorite. I use this daily and I am building up my list of favorites for easier tracking. I hope this makes sense to you.

Hello,

I have used Sparkpeople for years. I have customized by entering to my "favorites" in the nutrition category. Many I had to add manually, like raw almonds, or dark chocolate:9 Once they are in it is easy to track. And I have added my fav meals, or recipes into the food group section It takes some work, but once established, it's very useful and quick.

Same for the fitness part. I usually add fitness manually, cardio workout and calories burned per my heart rate monitor. Strength training too.

I am one who uses fitday and you can create your own custom food list just like sparkpeople. If you want, you could add oatmeal protein pancake, for instance, and add in the contents for the entire recipe and then just choose one serving.

There is a feature where you can add a journal. That is where I keep my stats when I weight in, measure, check body fat, keep track of my workouts, log calories and heart rates, etc. Just don't forget to save it. You can also copy and paste from one day to the next if you have the same type of info from one day that you want to add to another.

I find it OK to use - you can go down your list of Recent Foods, just check all the boxes (for those of us that don't vary much) and then add all at once. You can then go back and adjust serving sizes and click the Save Changes button.

Do you use fitday online version or pc version?
Will pc version has more feature than online? Does it worth $20?

Hey WantFit

It is just weightmaina.com. I downloaded the software, I think it was 40 bucks. It tracks everything, workouts, food, measurements, etc., and has tons of charts. The food part does not have as many items as I would like, but you can add custom foods to it and then they are in there forever. I have been using it since January and have lost about 12 pounds. It really helps me to keep track of things. good luck.
