Hi folks!

I just got back from voting and thought it might be fun to see how many voters we have here in our Cathe community.

PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS HOW YOU VOTED -- JUST IF YOU VOTED! I sure don't want to start any kind of political debate here! :)
 
I am caucusing (is that a word) tonight. It should take about 2.5-3 hours. I am not too excited about that aspect and I kind of wish that Colorado would just have a primary so it didn't take so long
 
Your poll left out that many people may be registered in other parties aside from Democrat and Republican and thus not eligible to vote in either primary.
 
I live in Georgia but I'm not voting today because I'm not registered as either a Democrat or Republican.

I'm not registered with any party, but I will be voting in the primary election today. I'll have to choose a party ballot (Rep, Dem or Green) when I get to the polling place, but, per Illinois voting regulations, we don't have to actually be registered with a particular party. I know it varies from state to state, though.

I've never voted in a primary before, and I'm excited about it! :)
 
Absolutely I voted. I feel it is my responsibility to do so - particularly when we're fighting a war for "democracy" and our citizens are dying for others rights to do so. Not voting would almost be a slap in their face. (steps off soapbox)
Voting is also very empowering!!

Hi Beavs! I'm that we may have lots of folks who aren't registered as Republicans or Democrats, and I truly mean absolutely no offense or disrespect to them by posting this simple poll. I'm just curious about the number of Catheites that we have who ARE voting on Super Tuesday, because it's such a watershed day in American politics.

I tried to amend the poll, by the way, to include folks who are caucusing today (a process I confess I don't understand fully), but apparently the poll couldn't be edited. So sorry, caucusites! :)

I'm in the DEFINITELY WILL BE VOTING category. :D The weather is nice here, and this is an important primary, so I'm expecting to be in a long line. But it's worth it! :D

Omigoodness, Kathy, your little boy is a grown man! I'm sure his first vote will be exciting for him.

Yep, our YOUNGER son is now 18, and our big boy is going to be 21 on his birthday in March! This makes me... um... let's see, do the math... 39. Yeah, that's right, 39. ;-)

It really is cool that they can both vote now. Son #1 is away at college so he did absentee balloting, but son #2 went to the polling place with us earlier today. He was pretty excited!

No offense taken! It's just that people gasp when they hear someone is not voting without realizing that some people cannot because they are not a card carrying democrat or republican but might be a card carrying green...communist...or festivus member. I overheard such a situation today.
 
I'm not a citizen, but my son also voted today for the first time. He was actually very proud afterwards!

I'm a registered independent, so I won't get to vote in the primaries in my state.
