Did Avatar 3D make you sick?

I'm so excited to FINALLY be seeing Avatar 3D tonight! But just wondering if anybody who has already seen it experienced motion sickness? The last thing I want to do is get sick at a movie theater!

UGH!!! Angie...do you have that problem, too? I was GREEN in Cloverfield. I couldn't sit through the whole thing. Let me know how it goes, please....I haven't seen it yet.

I don't normally get motion sickness but then again I don't normally go see 3D movies in a big theater! I've been warned several times so I'm a little nervous. I'll let you know how it goes!

Hi Angie,

I'll be honest, there are some parts that are pretty darned intense. I took my 3-D glasses off as did my son (seven years old) for those brief periods. It seemed like lots of people had to kind of shake it off for a second or two - just here and there. Most 3-D movies that I've seen seem to lose their 3-D-ness at some point. NOT Avatar. It is pretty much on it's game throughout the entire movie.

Be excited but be prepared. If you are prone to motion sickness it might be amplified by the "big-ness" of the experience. My husband wanted to see it in IMAX and we were warned against it since that is even more intense- I can't even imagine what IMAX would be like. I was blown away by the "Real 3-D" effects and felt the movie was TOTALLY worth the experience!! We are going back again very soon to see it again.

Have fun!!

I nearly puked when I saw the Blair Witch Project and when I left the theatre I noticed someone actually did.

Hi Angie,

How did you do at Avatar?? I hope you enjoyed it! It is an amazing movie!! Did you get motion sick or do all-right? I hope you were fine!

Happy Sunday!
Pam

Well, we had actually planned at the last minute to see the IMAX version of Avatar 3D but both shows were SOLD OUT!! Argh!!! So we saw "Up in the Air" instead. Eh...3 stars. But I was so disappointed about Avatar. I definitely want to try again....this time we will buy our tickets in advance!

Thanks everyone for your responses!

Now, now, Beavs. I heard that he was a production assistant for Rock 'n' Roll High School! Gabba Gabba Hey!

I get motion sickness pretty easily but didn't have any problems with Avatar 3D. However, my roommate did experience some problems. She wasn't wearing her glasses beneath the 3D glasses so she's thinking that was the cause of her problem.

Enjoy!
