I have read some good reviews on this skincare/makeup line. I went to their web site and would like to order from their site. Has anyone had experience with them? Does the shipment come directly from Japan? any issues with shipping or with using your credit card with them? Thanks!

Deb

They send me catalogs and samples all the time. I'm so hooked on my regular stuff I never even try their samples. My daughters like to play with them though! Now I'm curious about their stuff. Guess I'll try it next time they send it to me!

Hi Deb.

I use DHC skincare almost exclusively and love it. I have mildly oily skin (even in winter) and the cleansing oil is almost magical in the way it melts makeup and mascara. I often get compliments on my skin and attribute it to DHC.

Not sure if the shipments come from Japan but I've never had a single problem. In fact, they were backordered on something I ordered once and they sent me a $5 gift certificate to make up for my wait.

Good luck...
Beth

I would recommend caution with this product line. They use hydrogentated oil in their products. I had the worst reaction EVER from their products - my face became covered with a rash and acne worse than I had in high school (I'm in my 40s). When I read their ingredients I was shocked - I thought "why don't they just put lard in it with all this other junk??"" It really infuriated me because they promote their products as so "pure." The ones that I used clogged up my pores and made a huge mess. I finally went and bought Clinque to clear it up and shipped the rest of the DHC stuff back and got a refund. I'm glad if others have had good luck, but based on my experience I can't say enough bad things about their products.

And here's a 3rd opinion just to confuse you thoroughly! }(
I've tried their products & I liked a couple of them & disliked some of them. I had no bad reactions but was underwhelmed. So I guess I'm right in the middle of your other 2 responses! LOL
I think it depends entirely on your individual skin/needs.

:)

Edited to say...they do have excellent customer service...ask them to send you some samples.

I tried their products for a while. At first I loved it. My face felt so soft and clean. I even had compliments from strangers about how soft my skin looked, and I'm in my 40s. After about a month, my face starting breaking out, and I've never had a problem with acne in my entire life and my skin color seemed to change. I had the hardest time finding makeup that would hold its color on my face. It all turned a pinkish color when it touched my skin. The lady at the Este Lauder counter went through several colors before finding one that would not turn pink. Since I stopped using the DHC products, my face stopped breaking out and the makeup stopped turning pink.

I have tried many of their samples from the catalogue, and I like
some of them. I've ordered Velvet Skin Coat, and it's great because
it makes my skin smoother before I put on makeup base. But I have
noticed that some of their products make my skin itch a little.
I do like their eye creams, though. If you call them, they will send
you a catalogue with four samples in it. Then if you place an order,
they send you another catalogue or two with many more products and
monthly specials. You'll also get more samples and beauty guides
with your order. HTH

I tried a sample of their velvet skin this weekend and a sample of an eye cream and liked both very much. I also tried a night time moisturizer which was like rubbing vegetable oil on my face...I think I might order the velvet skin coat once to try it for a while.
