I have great news. My DH is ending his mission in Iraq in May. I am so excited. It has been a long year of having him gone. When he left last month I was expecting him to be gone 7 more months. This has been a long year for me. Lots of experiences for both of us. I will be so glad to have him home, I miss the companionship we have together. I hate the silence. One thing I have learned is over the years that I thought I would love some silence. I now know a small amount is ok, but not whole days alone. I have always appreciated my family, but now appreciate them even more as well. I know there are many out there that have the same experience and my heart goes out to them. I am so excited right now! I know I have had the support of many of you here and really appreciate it. Thank You so much.

Thats great news! I can't imagine being alone that long.You must be a very strong women...I would have went stir crazy! Take it easy on him when he gets home;)

WOW!...awesome news Diane...I am so happy for you. Bill is truly a hero for me...as are all the other soldiers. My thoughts and prayers for a speedy return...:)

That is wonderful news!!! I don't know how you two have done it either. I miss my dh after only a day apart. We thank him for everything he has done there. I hope his efforts will be continued after he is gone.

That is so wonderful. It really shows you that the great things in life are right in front of us. Our spouses are sometimes annoying but oh how we miss them when they are gone. I am so happy for both of you.:)

You are a strong lady to have done so well wiht out your DDH for so long, especially ater having been married fo so long. I am happy that he will soon be home again! And, I am thankful that he and so many others have gone in the first place. God Bless the US Troops!!!!

Oh, I am so happy for you!!! Give him a big hug and kiss from all of us! Dh and I have good friend in Iraq right now. He has been there for quite some time. He is coming home this month. Thank God!

And I agree, silence can be awful. I would much rather have my kids around screaming their heads off rather than complete silence :)

Diane Sue - congratulations to you. I know it's been a tough slog for you. I got the welcome news that my own youngest brother will also be coming home from Iraq in late May. That will spur a very rare get-together among my fam, sibs and step-fam/sibs.

May will be here before you know it! Hang in there!

My god a year.I had no idea it was that long....
Betya there is going to be some or alot of you know what when he gets home.
If you are not on the computer for a few days we will know why!

I am glad he is ok and not injured. There are so many of the soldiers hurt it is heartbreaking.
Guess it really makes you appreciate your family more.
