Good Morning!

Today was PS legs and no abs. I was sore after doing this one last time.
Halloween parties at school...Excitement! Then I have one last Parent conference, haircut appt. and workshop for school tonight.:p

Deanie--Hope you are feeling better today. Tell me what is "emergent" play? I am curious. Did you do PS legs today? I did not go as heavy as she did.

Tracee--How is your ds today? And how are you? I've been thinking about you and hoping the situation will get better. ((((((HUGS)))))

Marcy--Did you see DWTS? They all looked good. I really liked Jennie best. I think Derek does an excellent job with the choreography. Not sure who should go....Jane or Marie?

Have a great day!
Gin:)

Gin~ we posted at the same time!!LOL... here is my original post:

Good Morning =)

Today was PS legs. I did not do the abs. I like this leg workout, but I am begining to wonder why I am working out my legs for an hour. I am ready for the 4DS 1/2 hour of leg work! I used the same weights as Cathe today.

Gin~ I answered your post last night, and then it got lost somewhere! Anyway, emergent play is when the kids interests become the ciriculum. For example this year one of the 2's classes are interested in groceries. So the teacher set up a grocery store in the classroom. Then you take it further by discussing the grocerys how they grow/get to the store, have a field trip to the store, and incorporate any other ideas about groceries into your ongoing year round theme of (for example)family. So how the family uses the grocery store. I really like it: the kids interests are your ciriculum. How was your workout today. I am going to do HIS/LIS cardio only tomorrow. Are you?

Marcy~ What did you do today? I hope your dr. visit went well.

Tracee~ Hang in there kiddo! How was school yesterday for DS? It is freezing here~55 degrees!!!!!!I can not get warm!! Is it cold where you are?

Later

Good morning ladies.

Today was a much better day with ds. The school counselor told me that he could spend first hour with her for the rest of the week so he doesn't have to be in choir class which is where he was having the biggest problem. It's the first day in several that I haven't shown up for work crying!

Also, I managed to do PS Back & Biceps last night and then this morning I got up and did the floorwork from PLB and ball abs from B&G.

Deanie - I like your plan of doing the cardio from HIS & LIS so I think I'm going to do that tomorrow too. Emergent play sounds interesting and a great way to keep the kids interested in learning. The weather here has been cold too. Mostly in the 50's although today is sunny and will be in the low 60's. It gets down to the 30's at night so it's really cold when we all leave the house in the mornings. Brrrr!

Gin/Marcy - I agree with you Gin that either Jane or Marie will go. I prefer watching Marie so I'm hoping it's bye bye to Jane.

We've got a goodbye lunch for a co-worker today and then I'm leaving at 3:30 to run some errands. I haven't even bought my Halloween candy yet. I remembered this morning that I still need to buy some. Tomorrow is my younger son's party at school so I'll be leaving work early for that too.

Have a great day.

Good Morning Girls!

This morning I did Nekea Brown's Mix It Up (my first time). It was a little more than half stepping and then kickbox combos interspersed with toning. I only did one exercise with the toning since I really just wanted it to be a cardio day. It was pretty good. Step was complex. I got about 90-95% of it. She could have cued a little better and there wasn't really any breakdown. Kickbox combos were pretty good. I burned 437 calories. Tomorrow will be S&H Chest & Back.

Finally got my hair cut and highlights (blonde) yesterday. Cut about 2" off the bottom and have long layers on the sides and bangs. Everything went fine at the dr. My blood pressure was a little less than last week, 120/80 which is okay but the most it's ever been.

Gin/Tracee - I liked DWTS last night. I hate to say it but I agree Marie and Jane will be in the bottom two. It's hard to say which one will go. Jane just never seems to have enough oomph in her dances. Marie wasn't bad last night but it wasn't her best. She seems to do more acting than dancing. If Jane only had to do slow waltzes and rumbas, I would love her to stay but we know that's not the case. It's a tossup. Jennie was great and I agree Derek does some great choreography. I really liked Mel and Maks and Helio was much better this week.

Gin - I haven't done KB core yet but previewed it. I think I might like LIS core better but will reserve judgment until I actually do the workout.

Tracee - I'm sorry sorry about your DS. ((((HUGS))). At least the school is working with you. I'm glad today was much better. Glad you got a couple of workouts in. I'm sure that made you feel better. What are you kids going to be for Halloween?

Deanie - I crown you heavy weight queen!:) It was in the 40s yesterday morning here BRRRR!. A little warmer today.

Marcy

Hi Marcy -

My oldest son will be a baseball player if he decides to go trick or treating. My younger son is going to be a 3 musketeer with two of his other friends. My dd is going to be a cheerleader.

Tracee

Hi Tracee -

They sound so cute, especially the three musketeer with the two other friends. Great idea!

Hi Again!

It has been in the high 40's in the morning and then gets up to mid 70's in the aft.(beautiful weather in the aft.)I'm cold in the morning and put on a sweater and then hot in the aft.:p

Deanie--I do know about emergent play, just hadn't heard that term before. We have talked about it, but don't really do it. Good idea, though. I was planning on running and then KB, but I might change my mind to run and then LIS/HIS. You know how I like my cardio!;-) The good thing is that I don't have to be anywhere in the morning!:) What will your boys be for Halloween? I had 4 Darth Vadars, Captain Hook, Buzz Lightyear, Spiderman, Witch, Cat and Cheerleader in my room today.

Tracee--Glad things are improving with ds!

Marcy--How do you like your hair? Sounds pretty. Hope I'm home tonight in time for DWTS.

Gin:)

Hi Again!

Gin - Sounds like you had a nice crowd in your class today. My son still loves to dress up at his age. Last year, he made an Edward Scissorhands costume and won a prize. He made the hands in art class. I like the color although I'm still getting used to it a little bit since it's been awhile since I've had it highlighted. I like the cut (although I think he cut off more than the one inch off the back than I told him to, but that's okay since it's been a long time since I had it cut) but I think the next time I'm going to have it layered more (shorter) on the top and sides. I'll be shocked if Marie and Jane aren't in the bottom two.

I'm pretty happy with LIS and HIS. I think they rank right up there with Step Blast and Rhythmic Step.

Marcy

Hi all!

Tracee~ I'm glad things are getting better with your DS. Their costumes sound cute!

Marcy~ Your haircut sounds nice. You did alot of changes at once: highlights and a new cut! I think I could easily share the heavy lifting title with you!!:+ I like the edward scissorhands costume idea!!

Gin~ How'd your hair cut turn out? your class sounds too cute! We don't do halloween in our school, we dress up on Purim instead. But I'm room mom in my younger sons class, so I will be there for the costume parade and party!!

My DS11 is going as a baseball player, and my DS7 is going as Nolan Ryan(also a baseball player) Can you tell my boys like baseball???:p

Have a great evening all

Deanie:*

eta: my boys are now in the front yard playing.....baseball!!!:+

Hi Again!

Deanie - We love baseball in our house too. Right now my DH is listening to all the Yankee news and when I get home, we'll be doing it together (I don't mind though, that's the one sport me and DH both like and watch together.) Thanks for the co-title!

Gin - Yes, do tell us about your new do!

One more day and Cathe should be posting the new rotation! Can't wait although I think we can all do it pretty much as is and that'll be fine unless she threw some premixes in there and maybe she'll thrown in a Stretch Max here and there.

Marcy

I know! I keep checking the rotations forum hoping she will post early! I did see alot of premixes she could use. When I do the workouts, I will be doing the weights first option. Also, I think we could use this series and the premixes as a faux P90X. She has back and bi for one premix and chest, shoulders, triceps for another. I wonder if she realises that.
Deanie

Hi! Weight Lifting Queens!!

Deanie--Tell about Purim? We know all about Nolan Ryan here since he played for the TX Rangers. All 3 of his children also went to the University that is almost across the street from me. My dad painted a portrait of Nolan Ryan pitching for my ds.He paints portraits (many sports figures) as a hobby. Your boys would love my ds's room. He is almost 24, but it is like a shrine to baseball and we have just left it that way! Have you taken your boys to Cooperstown? DS LOVED it!

Marcy--I just had my hair trimmed. I'm trying to grow it out a little. My DH likes to watch football the most, but will watch ANY sport. I prefer baseball. You are probably right about Cathe's Nov. rotation.

Gin:)

I was going to do the weights first option too and yes, these could be used as a faux P90X. You could tack on the ab routines to the strength workouts and alternate them and just add in your own yoga. Or maybe you could alternate the 4DS with S&H. I think it would be good if Cathe did a functional fitness type workout along the lines of Core Syn. This would be different than any other weight workout she's done. Tracey's Sculpt Sweatfest is another good one.
