Delt Work

Hi all - I can lift heavier and much more comfortably when I do Shoulder flys, upright rows and side and front raises when I am bent over as opposed to standing up straight or sitting. I do have some arthritis in my neck which may be the reason. I have seen some body builders do this. I've never seen this in any Cathe workout. Is it safe to do it this way? I can go as heavy as 20 pounds on some exercises.

Thanks

Mar:)

Yes--they're called incline exercises. I include incline flies in my shoulder workout.

The only problem is when you work shoulders on an incline you're primarily targeting the rear delts, so your front delts might not be getting enough of a workout. My suggestion would be to try to do some upright exercises with lower weight/higher reps just to make sure you don't get out of proportion.
