Def.Rotation check-in

Good Morning!

I got up and did the step portion of MIC. Now I am trying to get myself motivated to do the HI/LO portion. Part of me wants to put it off until this afternoon, but I know I will feel better if I do it now! I also need to work on writing down everything I eat, because little nibbles here and there sneak up on me real fast.

Good job everyone with your workouts and eating. Down .6 is GREAT Marcia. Much better than gaining. :)

OK, I'm off to do Hi/Lo (I think!) Have a great day!

Becca

Its me again.Just finished a great workout.I didn't do the viper, I had that one and the Gualant mixed up.I wanted to do Imax2 and Bootcamp cardio(which is the gualant). What an awesome workout. Thanks again Rhonda.:) Time flew.I had a awesome cardio workout and I am not sure how long it took me.Couldn't of been more then 35 min. Then I tackled Legs and Glutes. It was a good workout also.I think some of her other leg workouts are more difficult.I will rate this by how sore I am tomorrow.Maybe next time I will up my weights although I used the same as cathe.
Marcia-good job on losing. It is diffently better then gaining.Remember when you weigh in next mon...if you weigh more or the same..muscle weighs heavier.I think we will diffently be building some muscle with this rotation.
Beccat-Good luck with MIC.I don't know if I will do that one tomorrow.I work both jobs tomorrow so I may not get time to workout.Thats why I have been doing so much cardio in the earlier part of the week.IAnd i can totally relate to your nibbling habits.Becareful, thats 90% of the reason why I gained 7lbs.I nibble when I am cooking and in between meals.By the time I was ready to eat my meal,I wasn;t hungry.I think we can consume ALOT of calories when we nibble.Lets be honest,we are not nibbling on fruit or carrot stick.Thats why I started my food journal and I write down every little crumb that goes in my mouth. It is truly a terrible habit that needs to be broken.
Have a great day ladies,I have to go make lunch, hop in the shower and off to work I go.
Lori

Why thanks for the "big ups", Lori...you are too sweet!

Yeah, all the Terminator workouts can be turned into super little high intensity gems on the DVD if you just bleep through the weight lifting sections. Here are the times:

Gauntlet: warm up - 7 minutes
cardio - 33 minutes
cool down - 4 minutes

Viper: w/u - 6 min.
cardio - 41 min.
c/d - 4 min.

Xtreme: w/u - 6 min.
cardio - 60 min.
c/d - 5 min.

Xtreme is an awesome workout.

Today and tomorrow I will do MIS and PH as splits...all legs today and all upper body tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes (never tried this one before - it may be "super depletion city"!)

Here are some links to pics taken last July, if y'all are interested. I'm working on getting more cut and, well, "Def. and Fat Loss" (suprise, suprise!!)

Take Care, Ladies!

Robin

Oh Robin:

You look absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job. Your hard work has definitely paid off. Keep it up.

Cheers, Marcia :)

Robin: you look fantastic! WOW!!

Lori, thanks for the motivational words about not snacking on "bites" of stuff. I have been writing down every bite today so I can stay on track!

I made it through the Hi/LO of MIC so I accomplished my workout goal for today. Tomorrow it is Leaner Legs for me. I haven't done that one in quite awhile, because I am short (5'1.5") and feel like my legs bulk up when I do a lot of weight work for my lower body. Maybe I will just do no weight or light weight on the lunges and leg press and do weights only with squats. Have a great rest of the day!

Becca

Thanks, guys! I do hope that this rotation will help get me the six pack abs I'm aiming for...that's one of my goals. Gotta lose some of this menopausal pudge!

Just finished a great leg work out:
MIS - Legs Only
Power Hour - Legs Only
PLB - Calves and Floorwork
MIS - Abs

I'm combining MIS and Power Hour of week 2 of this rotation into a split and so far it would be a keeper except I am so spoiled by my DVD's! I have MIS and PH on tapes and I hate rewinding and fast forwarding!

Tomorrow, Upper Body!

Robin

I have to agree...you look awesome,Robin. Those 20 intervals have paid off:)
I just got home from work.I had a little nap during my dinner break but I am getting tired again.I need to get to bed earlier.I should have been asleep last night instead of making bacon and eggs.I was thinking about working out again but I think the rest is just as important as the workout. If I am tired my body is trying to tell be something.I figure that I should go to bed early tonight, work tomorrow morning and then I can workout between my two jobs. That way I won't miss a day.
I had a pretty good day, eating wise.A older lady that comes to our salon was there when I got into work and she brought in some cookies.I was in such a rush to get to work that I forgot to pack a snack, so I ended up eating 3 cookies. But I wrote it down in my book.;( I was so hungry.I am sure it didn't have anything to do with my workout earlier.I only had a light dinner though.I tried to make up for it.
Anyway, I should go and hit the sack.I will be chatting with you gals in the morning! Oh,my little stomach pook is going down and I felt more comfortable in my pants today. Its amazing what 4 days of good eating can do.
Lori

Good morning, gang:

Lori: don't worry about those cookies, you've been faithfully working out and a few treats here and there are OK. ;-)

I've got such a busy week and weekend that finding exercise time will be very hard. Today I might take off work just to get it in. }(

BUT, I do have tomorrow off of work so I'm going to fit in all the workouts that I've missed this week (only 1 actually). I'm kind of excited for tomorrow, I love having it off and being able to workout all long and as often as I want to. :) I'm going out for a fish fry tomorrow night, too, so that way I'll have some extra points to eat some fish and shrimp (broiled of course) ;)

Have a great day eveybody and I'll be back later..... :)

Hi Gals,
As I suspected I didn't get my workout in between my two jobs. But I did get a 30min snooze.I will feel like a million bucks for the rest of the day.I am hoping that I won't be busy at work tonight, then I can get off early and workout:) You know we have problems when we are taking time off of work to workout!;)
I am a little sore from Legs and glutes. Not to much.My hamstrings are mostly sore. The scale was down .5 of a pound today.I had to hop on.I am going to weigh again saturday morning.
I went to bed last night at 10:30.My hubby woke me up when he got home at 10:45 (yeah,I fall asleep fast:eek: )Then he went out into the living room and I could hear crunch,crunch,crunch...and I was getting hungry again. He was out there with a bag of Doritos,a aero bar and a can of pepsi.I think he was trying to get me up so that he could have some company. It didn't work.If I ever gain alot of weight, I will have no problem blaming it all on that man.He is 5'9" and weighs 142 lbs.One of these days.....
Anyway,I hope everyone as a good day.We are almost finished the first week and some of you are almost finished your second! Im not sure what is scheduled tomorrow but I am in the mood to do PH or ME.
Lori

What rotation are you guys following?

Just wondering as I just started Cathe's September Rotation this Monday.

RE: What rotation are you guys following?

July Rotation - weight loss and definition. We are also substituting a few with the new series.

Come and join us if you'd like.......

:) Marcia :)

How's it going everyone? It is soo cold here in Minnesota...it feels like January. This AM it was 12 degrees! I got up early and did Leaner Legs before work. I used a 27 lb barbell for the squats and deadlifts and used no weight for the leg press and lunges. I hope that won't compromise my results...I just don't want to bulk up.

Tomorrow is the day I am supposed to do a 40 minute walk/run, but since I exercise early in the AM and it is so dark at that time, I will need to substitute a workout. Does anyone have any ideas what Cathe cardio workout would be a good substitution for the walk/run? I need to update my eating journal today with all the bites of sweets I have eaten, so I have an accurate record of what I ate. Thanks for all your encouragement and wisdom everyone!:) :)

Becca

12 degrees??? OMG, Becca! I come from San Diego and when it gets into the 40's here, I shiver!! I would say it's too cold for you do do the walk/run as well as too dark! Why don't you do one of the IMax's or even the cardio sections of any of the Terminators (times listed above) for interval work. I did my "Double Mania" (see above) for my walk/run in week one.

Today I did all of the upper body work from both MIS and Power Hour (I'm in week 2 of the rotation) switching from tape to tape so that all of the chest work was done at once, all of the back work, etc. Yowza...I'm still shakin' !!

Ta,
Robin

I got my workout in today. Not the one I had planned but I wasn't fussy at this point.
I got off of work at 10:30, cleaned up my house and I was undecided about taking a nap or working out.I felt like I should take a nap even though I wasn't overly tired but I new that getting up at 5:45 and working until 9 p.m was going to catch up to me.I took a quick 30min nap,and got ready for work again.
I got off early(8) and I decided to do S,J&P.I love the ab workout but I don't find the cardio really hard. Not like some of her other stuff but I guess it is nice not to have your heart beating a million times per min:7 Although Robin....you wouldn't agree!:p
I did o.k with my eating.I could of been better.McDonalds fries made it into my house so I had to have some of them.I could of slacked on the treats alittle to.I didn't eat before bed last night and I went to work at 6:30.I find that i am really hungry when I start my day early.
Anyway,I hope everyone had a good day.i am not sure if I will do Ph or ME before I go to work tomorrow.I think I can lift heavier when I have been awake for a while
Lori

Robin,

Thanks so much for the idea to look at the cardio from the Terminator DVD. I appreciate how you broke down the each section has of cardio in earlier post. After reading your reply, I got out that DVD (which I have never used!) and am now planning on doing a cardio only section from one of the three tomorrow AM! Thank you so much! :)

It sounds like everyone has had a pretty OK day so far. Now we have to make it through the weekend! I hope not to mess up my eating too much. It seems on the weekend, we end up at McDonald's or something at least once, and I too can not resist a "few" of my husband's and son's french fries!;)

Have a great evening!

Becca

Good Morning Ladies,
Beccat- this weekend may be my downfall.Saturday evening we are going to the cabin, and there is normally alot of junk food around. We are going to have a BBQ for dinner.Maybe if I fill myself up on chicken then it won't be to bad. When I cheat on a program...sometimes I never return!x( But I will already have my workout in for that day.
I went to bed at 11 last night (which was good for me) and I got up at 7.Thats a pretty good nights sleep.I am going to wait until after work to work out.I know I am going to do ME or PH but I am not sure which cardio I will do.I may be tempted to do the gualant carido again. When I did it the other day a screw fell out of my wall....it was holding the curtain rod up.I haven't got a chance to fix it yet.I am afraid that if I do to much jumping then my curtains will be down for sure.I don't normally work out in that room.
I did good with my eating last night.I got hungry about 1 hour before I went to bed.And I am starving now! I am trying to decide on what to have for my breakfast.
Have a great day
Lori

Hi everyone. Happy Friday!
I got up and did the cardio from the Gauntlet (thanks Robin). It was a great workout to substitute the 40 minute walk/run! I am also down a pound, so I feel I have had a good week. Now, I just can't blow it this weekend! Good luck with your eating Lori. :) I know how hard it can be when there is tons of food around. Getting your workout done in the early part of the day may help to keep you on track with the eating.

This afternoon I will do the abs from step heat and possibly one of the other step sections from that tape as well, just to get a little more cardio in. Tomorrow it is ME and Sunday off Yay!:p

Then...I'll have to get pumped up to do the LONG BodyMax video on Monday, which is also my 32nd birthday. I will have to break that one apart and do a bit at a time. I'll check in later. Have a Great Friday everyone!

Becca:)

Hey guys:

Well - I have the day off of work so I've done my workout and let me tell you I'm fried!!! I have been so busy the last two days that I haven't fit in any "scheduled" workout - sooooooooooo - I just finished IMAX2, PUB (up the pyramid only) and Legs and Glutes. UGH! My body can feel it that's for sure.......But, I just felt like I needed to catch up and I think I just did that. Believe me it's not something that I will be doing often. Besides, I'm going out for fish tonight with my family so the extra workouts will be good - I can enjoy my meal and not feel guilty about anything. Now, just to figure out the POINTS for Weight Watchers so I know where I stand.

Lori: Good luck at the cabin - bring lots to do and healthy snacks, you don't want to lose all the good that you've already done this week. :) Good luck!!!

Becca: Hey girl, I hope you have some great plans ready for your birthday. :)

Talk to you all later....Marcia :)

Thanks for the wishes, marcia.I am not going to the cabin until tomorrow evening and I will probably be back by Sunday Morning. Its just a night at the cabin with the girls. If I stick my mind to it,I will be o.k.That was quit the workout you did today!
I have went to bed every night this week hungry.I am only 25 but I think the age and the weight loss thing is catching up to me.They say it is harder to lose weight when you get older. If this was me doing this a year ago,I would have lost 5lbs by now.But the scale is barely budging. But like I said,we will feel better about ourselves regardless.
I am a little lazy now,I need to get some energy for some cardio.Weights aren't to bad.
Im going to have to change next week around a little.I am going to be out of town on Sunday and Monday.I may have to switch my days off.I may not even take a break this week and hop right into BodyMax on Sunday. We will see.If I can do all of the workouts and take sunday and monday off, that would be great.
Have a good evening everyone and I will be chatting to you later.
Lori

OMG, Lori! I wish I was 25 again...wow, it seems like another lifetime ago...sigh...I really haven't had much trouble keeping my weight down over the years, except menopause can slow things down a bit. About the same time it started kicking in, I switched from my years of high carb, low, low fat diet (I was a ballet dancer and had to keep very slim) to a very low carb, high fat (yes! I hadn't allowed myself peanut butter for, oh, decades!!)) diet called CKD (you can google it - there's lots of info on line). I feel great and am keeping my metabolism in check . Also, I consider it a major priority to do my workouts every day, of course, even if it's just a yoga session ...

Speaking of which, today's workout was kinda quirky! I started out with Power Max (which I hadn't done in ages) and it seemed kind of slow and low intensity for me - even on a 10 inch step height, so when I finished I skipped the cool down and did all the aerobic sections from Step Fit. It was a looooong, low intensity workout, but I needed to shake things up a bit!

Have fun with Body Max tomorrow, Becca, and Happy Birthday! (I was 32 once...double sigh...) CELEBRATE, GIRL!

Robin
