Def.Rotation check-in

Good Morning Ladies,
As I write this..I still have no subject!:) I don't know what to call this check-in but I guess by the end of this post, we will have one.
I am so excited about doing this rotation.I have been doing nothing lately.Whatever I feel like and it just isn't cutting it.
I had an awesome 2 hr workout today.I know I was only suppose to do CTX Upper Body but I wanted to do cardio to. I did Ryhtmic Step.I haven't done that one in a long time.So long, that I forgot some of the moves, imagine that:eek: I am going to do cardio and weights on days when I can b/c later in the week my schedule gets hectic and I will be lucky if I can workout at all.I will work out hard when I have the time.
With this rotation I am diffently looking for difinition and weight loss. Not alot, just 7-10 lbs.And not just by the scale either but my body as been busy telling me that it is squished into clothes thats to small.I figure this way will be harder then buying new clothes but it will be alot easier on my bank account.Plus I think that when you start buying bigger clothes it just turns into an endless cycle.I am ready to nip myself in the butt and get the ball roll'in.
I am going to try and work out on an empty stomach.First thing in the morning and I am not eating anything after 7 or 8 in the evening. Also really listen to what my body is telling me.If I am hungry,if I am full...etc.
Anyway,I really enjoyed CTX today. That workout is a tough one! I may even replace that one later for PUB.How is everyone elses day going?
Lori

Hey Lori:

Don't worry - this crowd will come up with something clever for a title for this rotation. :)

I had to rotate a few things on the schedule. I have Tuesday as my day off because I have Weight Watchers that evening so no time to workout. So, tonight I have walk/run for 40 minutes and Step Heat abs. Well, we got SNOW this morning here in SE Minnesota and the roads are a little slick so I am going to do the entire Step Heat tape instead. I agree with you on the CTX upper body and PUB - I'm thinking about changing that, too, because I have CTX on video so it would be hard to keep changing the tapes all the time.

My eating will be based on the WW, of course, but as clean as I can make it. :)

Cheers, Marcia :)

P.S. Can't wait to hear everybody else and their plan and to chat every day - this will be fun - and beneficial. ;)

Hi everyone! Its great to hear about your workouts. I too am hoping to lose 10 lbs on this rotation, while following the ww plan for eating. I am switching the cardio /weights days, so instead of doing M,W,F weights & T,TH,Sat cardio, I'll do cardio M,W,F and weights T,Th,Sat. So this AM I did Imax right away. I am a school social worker and I work part time, so Mon and Wed I am home with my little boy and have more time to work out in the AM.

Marcia, I am in Mn as well. I live in St. Paul. I am NOT ready for this snow.

Do you all think we will be able to lose weight with only three intense cardio's per week? Or...do we need to add more like Lori did today? Just curious about your thoughts on this. Way to go with your workouts. Have a great day! :)

Becca

Becca:

Great to hear from another Minnesotan! :) I know it, this snow came as quite a shock, although my 7 year old son is very excited to go sledding after school. Too bad the rain we are getting now will probably melt it by then. Which school do you work for?

I was thinking about adding more cardio, too.....possibly trying to fit in a CTX cardio whenever I can since they are a little shorter and I could probably get those done in the morning sometimes. I'm not sure if I want to actually write it in, though, because if I don't get to it I'll start feeling guilty and probably give up because it's too much, ya know?!?!

You follow WW, too. How wonderful!! We have so much in common this will be a great place to start my day and keep me on track.

:) Marcia.

I think with a clean diet anything is possible!:) I have come to realize that you can workout as much as you like, but if you are not watching what goes in your mouth, then whats the use.Your never gonna get the results you want.Thats another reason why I have started a food journal. This is not the first time I have started a journal but hopefully I will stick to it this time.
I am going to try to put in my cardio days when I can.Ctx is a good option.I also agree with marcia, I am not gonna write it in my book b/c if I don't do it, then I will feel like I have failed and throw in the towel.
NO snow here yet, but it is calling for some. Its pretty cold out as well.I think my running days have come to a stand still.I can't beleive chrsitmas is just around the corner.:p But I love christmas.
Lori

Ladies,
Great idea to try to incorporate the CTX cardio whenever we can to supplement. I agree it takes some of the pressure off if it isn't written in.

Marcia, I work in the Woodbury/Cottage Grove school district. Where in MN do you live? When you say SE, it could even be Hastings, which is where I am from. :) i have been following weight watchers for @ 2 1/2 years. I started it to get the baby weight off and have been on lifetime for @ 2 years. However, when I set my WW goal, I set it at 10 lbs above where I really wanted to be at and haven't been able to get to my personal goal yet. Hopefully this will be the motivation I need. I have to weigh in once a month to maintain my lifetime membership (Where I don't have to pay) but I am thinking of trying to get there once a week, since it doesn't cost anything. I am trying to stay at 20-23 points per day. Are you adding any activity points to your total?

Thanks again Lori for coming up with this idea!

Becca

Becca: Good for you to be a lifetimer that's awesome! I have 15 pounds to go to get to lifetime, but it's been a struggle - UGH! I've been fighting these last 15 for a few years and just can't seem to get a handle on it. I'm hoping this rotation and thread will help and so far it's been great to check in hear and support each other.

I live about 30 miles from Rochester and work in the Plainview School District.

Yes, I usually do add in the activity points, but don't always use them.

Yes - thank you Lori - great idea going here. :)

Cheers, Marcia :)

Hey Ladies!

I'm into week 2 of the rotation, so I did BodyMax today...what a great workout! I haven't done it in a while - it was good to get back to it! Yesterday I "maxed out" on all 20 intervals from IMax 1 and 2 and I thought it would be tough going today, but it felt good...I kinda breezed through it!

Week 2 has 2 rest days in it, but I'm with you guys on adding as much cardio as possible, so I think I'll only take one rest.

Have a great evening all, and thanks, Lori, for getting us together! (Wow, Rhythmic Step and CTX Upper in one session...good for you!)

Robin

HI ladies,
It hasn't even been 24hrs and my body is already feeling sore from todays workout.
Ribon-you did 20 intervals? I have never tried that! Obviously I am a little more sane then you;) Just joking! Did you do both workouts or do you have those on DVD where you can set it up? That may be an idea for tomorrow,if I am feeling up to it.
I had a good day today.I had a couple of sweets after dinner but I think I consumed around 1200cals. And I wasn't that hungry.
I must go get some rest.I have to work at 7 tomorrow morning but I get off at 11 for the day. Then on Wed I am back into my normal work schedule.I have to work both jobs on Thurs, which means going to work at 6:30 and not getting off until 9.I may take Thursday as my rest day.Although last week I took a nap during my 2 hour break and I felt like a million bucks.
Chat to you tomorrow!
Lori

Hey Lori -
Yeah, I do a workout I call Double Mania (because I am obviously a work-out maniac!)

I recorded onto DVD with my DVD recorder all of the intervals and recoveries from my IMax 1 video (skipping the aerobic sections), so I do Imax 2 Blast Mania Premix, skip the last cool down and the stretch, pop in my Imax 1 DVD, do all 10 intervals and recoveries, then the cool down and stretch on IMax 1. It's a great workout - 20 intervals!! It lasts about an hour and gives you a good 50 minutes of high intensity interval work.

Give it a try! I'll bet it'll be a keeper for you as it is for me (I try to do it weekly when I'm not on a specific rotation.)

Robin

Good morning, ladies:

I wasn't sure if we were going to start a new check-in daily or weekly so I thought I'd just add to this one. :)

It's Tuesday morning and my day off of exercise, which seems weird since we just started this rotation, but I have Weight Watchers tonight so no time. I'm not sure how I will do tonight, it's been a tough week, but this rotation/thread has really motivated me so I'm not going to be so worried because I'm just getting started with this rotation which I think will be my ticket to SUCCESS. :)

Have a great day everybody!

Cheers, Marcia :)

Good Morning!
I got up early and did CTX upper body. I feel so good having my workout done for the day. I have grad school tonight, so I needed to fit exercise in this AM. Actually, I am going to try to get all of my workouts done first thing in the AM because I find I feel so much better throughout the day! I think tomorrow is MIC, which I need to break up and do the step part and hi/lo seperatly because my little boys do not let me exercise non stop for more than 30 minutes. I try to get up before them, but it seems they are getting up earlier!

Marcia, good luck tonight at weigh in! Keep up your positive attitude and you will see results throughout this rotation. Robin, 20 INTERVALS?!?! Wow! I am impressed.

Have a great day everyone.

Becca

Good Morning All,
Na, I think we will keep this post until the end of the week. There isn't much use in starting a new one everyday. Unless this discussion gets really long, then we can always start a new one.
Well,I don't have to wonder what body parts I worked yesterday. My upper body is so sore.WhenI was working on my triceps it didn't seem like I was really burning them but I must have.Even my shoulders feel sore and they never do.
I haven't got around to working out yet today.I am planning on doing Imax2 and if I have time after dinner I might do KP&C.But I didn'y write it in my book.
We just got the remaining parts of our bowflex.I am to sore to try it out today and I don't think I will be able to use it tomorrow either.I can play with it though.
I just found out that I am going out of town for a christmas party in 2 weeks.I work for a airline and we are all catching the plane out on Nov 15 for two nights. This little trip is giving me a reason to stay on this program for 2 weeks, for sure.Just one little mini goal.It seems like when you are closer to some sort of deadline,it keeps you motivated.I know that I am not going to see jaw dropping results in 2 weeks, but with a clean diet and some good workouts,it will help me feel better about myself.Even if I look exactly the same.Isn't it funny how the mind works?:)
Hope everyone else has a good day.I look forward to checking in later.
Lori

Hey Lori, I know what you mean about little mini goals - they always help. Where are you going on your little trip?

WOW - if you can do those two workouts today - WOW, that's all I can say. KP&C left me totally drained and if you do IMAX2 first, I can't imagine. :) Good luck. :)

I'm doing good with eating, but I try not to eat much when I have to weigh-in tonight at WW.

I hope everybody has a great day, talk more later.

Cheers, Marcia :)

Robin, please tell me how you do that??? I am trying to make copies of some of my movie dvds and I don't want all of the other stuff - only the actual movie or episode. How do you get only the sections of a dvd you want??? I've had my burner for a year, and I can't figure this stuff out :(

I would totally appreciate your help!!
Sara

I went to work out but then I decided to take a nap!:) Isn't that totally oposite? When I started the Imax2 warm-up I felt like I wasn't at my best so I figured I should wait until I can give it my all.I was up early for work and I always get tired around lunch time.
I just woke up to a major snow storm in the mean time. That doesn't make me feel energized.
I am going to do Imax2 now before dinner and then maybe before I go to bed I will do KP&C.
I live in Newfoundland,Canada and we are going to a christmas party in Hamilton,Ontario.8 women are going and we will be sharing 2 rooms. We are going on NOv 15 and comming back on Nov17.We figure that we will spend Sun in our rooms eating junk food and watching the Music awards.I don't normally like going anywhere without my husband but it as been such along time since I have been on a womens exclusive trip.I am kinda looking forward to it.He is always going somewhere and leaving me home. Its time that he got a taste of his own medicine.;)
Good luck with your weigh in! I hope you lost......I do some working out
Lori

Too funny, Lori, you took a nap. I just had to laugh because I've felt like that before, but just tried to muddle through the workout.

You deserve a girls weekend every once in a while. You need to do that so your husband misses you. ;)

Thanks for all the good wishes on my weigh-in, I'll let you know good or bad.

Cheers, Marcia :)

Hey All!

I was short on time today, so I did Viper minus the weight sections...what a super workout...short and sweet!

Sara - Here's how I made my IMax 1 Mania DVD. I own a DVD recorder which I hooked up to my VHS player. I then popped in my IMax 1 tape and played it straight while recording on the DVD. As I did the whole work out, all I had to do was stop recording during the aerobic sections (and kept the tape playing) then resume recording when the next interval came on. When I was finished, I had a DVD with all 10 chaptered intervals plus warm up and cool down - my own premix! Hope this helps!

Lori - gotta nap when the bod says so...I love a good nap, when I can get one!

Robin

Oh, I don't beleive this.I wrote a post and then my mom was on the phone,I clicked post message, then I closed the internet.I guess the internet closed before my message got posted b/c I don't see it anywhere.
Anyhoo,RobinC- you have such great ideas when it comes to cardio!I never thought about doing those workouts before and leaving out the weight sections.I read another post about you yesterday.I am very impressed with your age and your endurance.I am only 25 and you are in WAY better shape then me.Good Go'in!
Marcia-how did the weigh in go? Well,I didn't do K,P&C last night. I chatted on the phone to my sister. But I had a great Imax2 workout and that counts for alot.
I have been doing pretty good with my eating.Last night at 12 my husband decided that he was hungry.(he is always hungry}( )He nominated me to make him something.Get a load of this.....he wanted bacon and eggs! 12 at night.I don't know if eating in the night time contributes to weight gain but it does when you make the wrong decisions, and who eats healthy in the night when they are watching t.v? Not me:) I made him a snack and thenI jumped in bed and covered my head .I wasn't starving but I was getting pretty hungry.I am trying to look at food as fuel and not as a comfort thing.I need food for energy and to live.I didn't need energy when I was going to bed last night. Anyway,I did good. When I got up today I thought,"see last night wasn't to bad.You made it".Tonight and tomorrow night will be alittle harder though b/c I work both night and I end up having a early dinner.By the time I get home from work I am hungry. If I am really hungry I will just have to make some good choices.
Today I am going to do The viper cardio(thanks the robin) and then Legs and glutes.I am still thinking about doing leaner legs b/c I haven't done that one alot so it is still fairly new.But I think I would like to try my new workout.
I have to say I am loving this rotation so far.I like getting up and seeing what workout I have to do.Its always a good length workout and with the new videos incorporated I will follow this. And that is a big accomplishment for me, cause I have a hard time following things.OUr bowflex is now put together and it came with a booklet of workouts.I was thinking of doing a couple of upper body workouts on it a week. Its a shame not to use it but I don't know if it will be to much? I would just add it on to my upper body days. Its only 20min workouts. What do you think? To much?I don't want to look like the warrior princess!
Sorry so long....chat to you soon,
Lori

WAY TO GO, LORI!!!!!!!!!! You did awesome not eating bacon and eggs that late at night and just think all that grease and fat would've gone straight to your hips. :) You can be very proud of yourself!

I lost .6 last night at weigh-in......not much..... but better than gaining, right?!?!? And, the rotation has just started so I'm very excited to keep on track and see where next week's weigh-in gets me. Tonight I'm going to be playing co-ed volleyball in a very competitive league so that will be a great workout and I'm going to try and fit in PUB, too.

Have a great day everybody and I'll be back later to write more. :)

Cheers, Marcia :)
