December Rotation Check In - TGIF

Good morning to everybody! Week 1 is winding down!

I forget who said it yesterday, but the suggestion to at least start the workout and see how you feel is a GREAT one. Nice trick, too. For me, I figure if I'm standing there doing the beginning, I may as well make my time work for me!

Gin-I loved doing the Disney marathon. It was my first (and only so far) marathon. What an experience. I did it as a fundraiser for the Leukemia Society and that made it SO much more special to me, as it's a cause that hit home HARD.

Kali-How's your back today????

I also recommend the glucosomine chondroiton (sp?) as well. I don't take it currently, but I was taking it during my marathon training when my knees started hurting pretty badly. Doc told me there's nothing wrong with the knees....just need to stretch the hamstrings and take the G.C.

OK.....up extra early this morning for some reason! lol. I did the B&G premix of standing glutes and abs (LOVE those abs). Then, since I was up early and had a TON of time left, I hit the treadmill for a 4 mile run. I was shooting for 3, but felt good and had a few extra minutes, so I went 1 more! LOL Love days like that!

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!

Today is my quiet day. Lunch with my girlfriends and that's it. So, I'm staying home and getting all my laundry done, as well as some stuff around here that I've been putting off.

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is my little guys 7th birthday!!!! We are having a backwards dinner and serving ice cream sundae's to start:) Should be fun- I don't think the kids will be eating the actual dinner!!!:)

Today was B&G premix and abs for me also. I also had extra time which worked out for me- I took a shower before breakfast and taking the kids to the bus. Wow what a feeling:) usually I shower after taking the kids to the bus. Now I have some free time before meeting the "girls" (we are all over 40) for coffee!

Tomorrow is GS C&T- always a dread factor with this workout- the 72 pushups!!! I can do them but I dread them- I also wonder why 72??? Sometimes I think 2 sets of 16 done with toes on the step would be better. Unfortuneately(spelling?) I am anal and if the workout does 72, then I do also:) I am subbing a 30 min run though- its way to cold and the kids are to young to leave by themselves in the house.I am thinking of doing 10-10-10 instead or the elliptical.

TGIF!! Have a great weekend and happy workouts!!!

Good Morning ladies. TGIF indeed!!

I first wanted to say welcome to Christine who wrote in on yesterdays check-in. We can always use one more in the group.

Kali - I hope your back is feeling better today.

Marie- Thanks for the advice on getting motivated. I was able to squeeze yesterdays workout in last night. I was so proud of myself. Of course the problem at night isn't usually with my lack of motivation, it's more about what to do with the kids. I ended up having my 2 year old wanting to "dance" with me and I kept having to tell her to watch out. It messed up my concentration but not the overall workout.

So this morning was B&G standing premix and abs. I really despise standing leg work even though I know it's necessary. I was so glad when that card came up saying it was time for ab work.

Tomorrow will be S&H chest, tris and some biceps thrown in because I didn't get to do those earlier in the week. Looking forward to the upper body work, it's my favorite.

Gave a great Friday everyone.

Good morning, ladies! Ugh, my Internet has been down for 12 straight hours!! Very annoying. I ended up taking this AM off from work because it's too difficult trying to dial up on my work laptop. Now I have to take my car to the shop for an oil change... I think I'm going to treat myself to an extra-delicious DD coffee on the way. :)

I just finished GS C&T. I actually think B&G was on the rotation for me today BUT I couldn't get on here and check plus I was really in the mood for some lifting. However, at 46 minutes, I was thinking, THAT'S IT???? I remember when I used to think the Gym Styles were long. HAH! lol

Kali, I'll give the G/C a try. I think I tried it before but never stuck with it long enough. Do either you or Gayle have a brand rec??? And I do hope you are feeling better! Don't overdo it with your back, you can really hurt yourself.

Tina, welcome! Of course you can join us!

Everyone else, I'm short on time and can't address anyone directly so I just wanted to say, have an awesome workout!!! One week down and three to go! I never feel this good during the holidays so I am sure the regular workouts are really helping the inevitable moods (I feel so pressured with the whole gift-giving thing, I wish we could just work in the soup kitchen or something instead). TGIF!!!

Talk later,
Marie

Hi ladies!

I did GS Chest & Triceps this morning. This is one tough workout for me (well, only the chest part.) I did the 72 pushups although I take a bit longer rests after #42. This workout really knocks the crap out of me. I know this workout is only 48 minutes but it takes me an hour and 15 minutes to get through it. Went up to 12# on kickbacks and 10# on lying extensions. for chest flies and presses, I'm still at 15#.

Gayle - good work on the run.

Deanie - Happy birthday to your DS! Hope he has a great day. As you can see, I have a dread factor too with C&T.

Tina - Welcome to our check-in. Feel free to join us any time.

Tracee - I like floor leg work much better too. Also, love B&G abs on the ball. I'll be doing that tomorrow.

Marie - I'm jealous. You have no problem with GS C&T? This has got to be one of my toughest workouts, along with the hi/lo portion of MIC.

Have a great weekend everyone and great workouts.

Marcy

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Kali--How is your back today? I have had back trouble before and it is no fun. Hope it's better.

Christina--Welcome!

Gayle--Disney is one marathon I would love to do if I ever do another. I had problems with my knee last year. I think I increased my mileage too quickly when training for a Half and it wqas a good 6 months before I could run, do impact cardio, or some lower body work! Not fun!

Deanie--Your DS's b-day party sounds clever. Bet they will enjoy.

Tracee--It is difficult to workout when your children are young. Mine are grown, but that is when I started workouts at home when they were young.

Marcy--You can lift heavy weights! I am almost always lifting less than Cathe does.

I did GS C&T this morning. I have to do the push ups on my knees. I think I'll NEVER be able to go to my toes!!x( I ran yesterday because we knew it would be 22 degrees this morning. Too cold for me!! Does anyone do yoga??

Gin:)

Gin, repeat after me: "I will do pushups on my toes!" I never thought I would be able to pushups on my toes either but the more you do them, they will get easier. I now do all 72 but I still take longer breaks than Cathe does. The last 2 with the 4-4 count really gets to me. It was only in the 20s this morning by me too. Definitely too cold for me. That's why I'm moving down south. I don't do yoga that much but when I do I do Bryan Kest's Power Yoga series, Energize, Tone and Sweat. Thanks for the compliment about the weights. I didn't think it sounded that heavy. I've only been strength training for a year since I discovered Cathe. I can't believe how strong I've gotten. Biceps are what I have the hardest time with. I usually lift more than Cathe for shoulders, tris and back and less than Cathe for chest and bis.

Marcy

I'm back. Sorry I've only checked in once had a busy week. I'm one day behind on the rotation hopefully I'll catch up this weekend. Today was the cardio premix from LIC and the ab work. I like this workout. I was hoping catch up on some posts but my daughter is home with the flu and I think I hear her waking up. She slept most of the afternoon so I had time to fit in a workout and shower. Kim

Just got done w/ todays workout! I honestly thought I was not going to make it thru my legs were shaking sooooo badly! But I forced myself and now I am a happy camper! :)
Thanks guys, my back feels better. Especially doing the ab work on the ball made it feel prety good.

Great job w/ the add on Gayle! There can never be too much cardio in my book! LOL!

Happy BD to your DS Deanie! Good luck tomorrow!

Tracee, I was soooo happy when I saw it was times for abs! I was like THANK GOODNESS this is over! LOL!

Hello to Christine and welcome too!

Marie, I use whatever kind is on sale. You have to take it consistently to have it work I understand. I'll keep an eye on my back. Hope your day wasn't too hectic. Maybe we can meet for coffees over the holidays or something.

Good job Marcy!

Thanks Gin it's feeling much better. I do my pushups on my knees. The only ones I do on my toes are the ones where you go up into a pike then do a push up. I don't even know what the hec that wo it's in ME maybe?

Kim, hope your DD is feeling better. My 8 yr. old DS was home for 3 days this week w/ an earache etc. He seems ok now. Let's hope. I hate seeing them sick.

Well off to shower and go pay a dept. store bill that is due TODAY!!

Have a great night ladies talk to you on the flipside!
