DebbieH!! I got my books!

Dani53

Cathlete
I found all three I was looking for at Costco and so I was able to cancel my Amazon order. Yippee!! I have them now and can start reading today. Not to mention Amazon didn't ship until Tuesday, and I saved 7 bucks over their price.

Have you started yet? Can I catch up to you on "As I Lay Dying"?

Happy reading!

Dani and Sabrina!!! Woo-Hooo! Sooo glad you found them. Dani, just curious...were yours all separate? Mine (Sam's Club) were in a boxed set for $14.99 which I thought was an awesome price. Just being nosey. ;-) We brought our grandson home with us last night (he'll be one this month.) so Julie and Scott could take Kennedy, our granddaughter & her best friend to several fun places today for her 4th. birthday. It makes it a bit easier for her to enjoy her special day if they can concentrate on just her. Anyway, point I am getting at in a looong about way...I just finished the recommended reading of "As I Lay Dying" this morning while Colton took his first nap. Did you both copy off the reading schedule? It has you reading the first 84 pages by tomorrow so you can tune in at Oprah.com for the professor's lecture tomorrow nite. Then, as of tomorrow, you have til next Monday to read 85-168. It is very doable. I will probably read the third book at a bit faster pace so I will have time to read & be able to join in on the "Kite Runner" that will be discussed in September. Did that make any sense??? The book took me a bit to grasp at first but now it is all "sinking" in. Give it a few chapters. The way they speak took a bit til I understood but that could be just me! :7 Also, another good tip. The name of each chapter, without giving anything away, is titled by that person's version of the story. Also...copy off the "Meet the Characters" list at Oprah.com and it will help you keep the characters straight, such as who is who. Helped me lots, otherwise I would have been lost! It also makes into a book mark. :7 Hope I didn't give away too much. I can't stand when people tell me things that happen in a movie or book before I see/read it! Grrrr! ENJOY and let me know what you both think. Very, very different read from anything I have EVER read!

Thanks Debbie, I don't feel like you let any cats out of any bags with that information. I have watched all the current videos and such, and those are just really encouraging. The new info you gave, at least to me, is the chapter title being the person. I know the professor explained that the story is always changing depending on who is telling the story, but having that right up front with the chapter name is good. I know I would have caught on, but this is one less thing I need to catch on to. I also printed off the book mark and reading schedule but need to find where I placed it....grrrr....

Now the key for me will be to get some reading time. I feel like I have had non stop company, and work at the Farmers Market in between, for three weeks. My in-laws come today and will stay a couple of days, but they both read so I know they will understand if I crawl off with a book in the "down time". My mother in law adores Oprah and is a big reader herself so she just may be bringing her own book. I should ask her before they leave the house. We could have our own mini discussion right off the bat!

Enjoy your family as well. My kids are still home and I can't wait for grandkids!! It is the only thing that gets me through the thought of them growing up so quickly is the fact that they will bring their own children home for me to snuggle:) Truthfully, I can wait for them to have children in terms of their own life and readiness etc, but I still look forward to the day if that makes sense.

Re: "Truthfully, I can wait for them to have children in terms of their own life and readiness etc, but I still look forward to the day if that makes sense." Just you WAIT! It is liking nothing you have experienced! They are sooo much fun. Even Papa (my DH) is making up for the time he missed while working with our own two!) He is one proud Papa and just amazed at them! Great, I'm glad I didn't ruin anything for you concerning the hints. Do you work for the Farmer's Market or work a booth for yourself? If so, what do you sell??? Hope you can find a few minutes here & there to sneak in some reading or possibly while your in-laws are there. You should make sure your MIL picks the books up on her way. That would be fun to be able to discuss it right then & there. Let me know what you think after you get started. Goooo print off another bookmark if you don't find it. That was a life-saver for me. ENJOY!!
