Good Morning Girls:)

This morning I did Kari Andersons Reach (recommended by Marcy:) ) and I liked it. It was alot of leg work and abs, and she wasn't Cathe- I do only Cathe so it was weird to listen to a woman who wasn't Cathe- but it was good. I think my legs will be sore tomorrow, there were alot of leg excersises I don't usually do. I was only going to do half the dvd, but ended up doing the whole thing.

What workout did you all do today?

I don't know about you guys, but I have found this week (except for yesterday when i did CK) I am not drinking as much water as I usually do. Usually I drink about a liter-ish during my workout, and another liter throughout the day. This week, I am not drinking during the workouts, so I only do about a liter a day!

Gin- sorry about the teachers in your school. Some teachers come in 1/2 an hour before school starts because thats when their kids get the bus, but then they stay later to set up for the next day. Its good the director notices, because if not that would frustrate me more!

Tracee- How are you feeling today?

Marcy- thanks for the recommendation of Reach!

Off to school,
Have a good day all,
BBL,

Good Morning!

I did 2 sections of Stretch Max this morning and will go to swim class tonight. I ended up doing 39 min. of KPC yesterday (avoiding the impact) and it felt good to sweat. My CK/CM finally arrived yesterday. She had mailed it on the 13th and so took 8 days to get from NJ to TX.

Deanie--I saw Reach in the CollageVideo catalog. Is it ballet based? I always have trouble drinking enough water! I have to force myself to drink 8 c. a day!!x( I just need to not let the school thing bother me. I am (maybe unfortunatately) more of a perfectionist. I really do like the other teachers, as friends.

Have any of you ever done Pilates? A friend was raving about it and I am curious.

Marcy and Tracee--Hope you have a good workout and good day.

Good morning girls!

I was supposed to do Jari Love's Ripped to the Core this morning but I felt like I had DOMS all over my body from head to toe so I decided to do Bryan Kest's Energize. It felt so good and I felt so stretched out afterwards. I really feel like I have to do yoga more often. It feels so great and I feel so strong and flexible afterwards. I'll be going dancing tonight, first time in 3 weeks.

Deanie - Glad you liked Reach. I think I did the same thing as you only wanting to do half and then loving it so much I finished the whole thing. I really like Jari's voice. It's so soothing and I think she has great form. I definitely don't drink as much water as I should. I usually drink between 16-23 ounces during my workouts. I always hated water. Don't drink tap water but love Propel. That's the closest thing I get to real water.

Gin - Yes, Reach is ballet based with some pilates and yoga thrown in as well. Kari was a former ballet dancer. I have done some pilates. The workouts I have are Rael Pilates 27 and Hilary Burnett's Advanced Pilates. Got both of them from Deep Discount DVD and really like them. Rael's is about 45 minutes and has 27 different poses. He also has a 7 and 17 system but I don't think those would be advanced enough for me. Hilary's is only 22 minutes and really flows from one move into the next. Glad you got in a little of KPC yesterday. Congrats on finally getting your DVD. Hope you enjoy it.

Tracee - Hope you are feeling better and have a great workout today.

BBL. Have a good day everyone.

Marcy

Good morning. I am feeling better today guys, thanks for the thoughts.

I did a short yoga workout this morning from fit tv. I liked it because it was pretty simple but I just don't seem to "get" yoga yet. Maybe because I'm not flexible at all and it's hard to get into some of the poses. I definitely think I would be bored to tears if yoga was the only exercise I did.

Sounds like you all had good workouts this morning. It also sounds like this recovery week is turning out to be good for everyone.

Deanie - I'm drinking a little less this week too because I usually drink during my workouts but not this week. I also tend to drink more water when I'm at work but on the weekends I go almost the entire day before I realize that I haven't had a glass of water yet. Yikes!

I came back to edit and ask if any of you are going to the road trip? Did any of you go last time?

BBL.

Hi Tracee,

Glad you're feeling better. I think the more you do yoga, the more you'll like it. You also have to find which yoga is right for you. I like ashtanga or power yoga like the tape I sent you (which is the one I did this morning). There's vinyasa, kundalini, hatha, etc. If you look on sparkpeople.com, I think they have descriptions of the all the different types.

I didn't go on the road trip last time. Wasn't doing Cathe at that point. As much as I would like to go this time, I think I will be in the middle of moving or will have just moved by then and I think things will be too hectic for me.

Marcy

Gin- yes, I have done Pilates. I have a couple different workouts and even got one Marcy suggested, but I keep coming back to the one I use the most. It is from the Pilates Inst. in New Mexico. I got it in 1992 and it really is the best for me. It is about 20 min. long and I'm not sure how many poses, but they do flow into each other. All of the excersises are done on the mat (not standing up) I don't really like pilates as much as yoga for the stretch aspect or even working the core. I even bought the reformer and got a Stott Pilates dvd to use with it, but still didn't enjoy it. The Method with Jennifer Kries is also a good intro to Pilates and has some standing excersises. But for me all in all, I'd rather do yoga and I think it has the same if not more benefits. i'm glad you got your workouts! Let us know if you enjoy them!

Tracee- glad you are feeling better. I didn't go to the last road trip, I think I just found Cathe. I may go to this one, I'm just not sure how it works. I live in Md. and have family in Jersey, and I feel if I really want to go to Cathes gym, we can take our own road trip for a weekend and I can go. So, I guess I want to know more about it....How about you?

Gin - I've seen MTV Pilates Mix with Kristin McGee and 10 Minute Solution Rapid Results Pilates with Lara Hudson recommended a lot. They're both available at deepdiscount.com for about $9 each.

Marcy

Good Afternoon!

I love to read about all of the knowledge you guys have about various types of exercise!! :)

Marcy--Bryan Kest yoga is on my Wish List and I am interested in Pilates, but I CANNOT buy any more w/o dvds for a while. This year ('07) I have bought --- Hardcore Extreme, Superset/Pushpull, Timesaver, RS/IMAX/MIC, PH/MIS/BodyMax, Low Max, CK/CM, HSC , David Swenson Short Forms yoga and 3 Jari Love dvds!! I have got to stop. They were all good deals, but enough for a while.
Enjoy dancing tonight!
I will have to peek at deepdiscount.com.;-)
I am also sore from all of the abs (we also do yoga sit-ups in class) and KPC always makes my upper body a little sore.

Tracee--As much as I enjoy yoga, I wouldn't want it to be my only form of exercise, either. I really prefer a class to a tape. They do offer 1 or 2 Pilates classes at the fitness center. Maybe I could try one there.
Cathe Road Trip sounds like fun, but I am sooo far away. Don't know.

Deanie--I have done the Method with Jennifer Kries. A friend let me borrow. She was very poised with a soothing voice as I remember. Isn't a reformer a machine? Do you still have one? I viewed my new CK/CM dvd and it looks like a LOT of hopping around. May be a while before my leg can handle all of that!:-(

Gin

I didn't go on the road trip last time either for several reasons. I'm a very shy person and would never have gone by myself. I didn't know anyone else who worked out so there wouldn't have been anyone to take with me. My sister used to live right by Cathe's gym but she had moved back to Michigan by the time I found that out. I would love to visit her gym on my own time too but it probably won't happen.

I'm going to keep working on the yoga. I tend to get frustrated with something when I can't do it well in the beginning.

Gin - I agree with you about the knowledge coming from our other two rotation buddies. ;)

What's on schedule tomorrow? I think it's ab work from B&G, right.

Have a good night.
