Good Morning!

I am checking in today while watching the snow fall. Its beautiful! I did Pilates today- finally! I HAVE to get back into the swing of things:) We had a lot scheduled to do today, but everything has been cancelled due to the weather! It was supposed to be ice storms, instead we have snow. I hope my DH will be okay driving home today. He works till noon. Instead of running all over, hebrew school, birthday parties, meeting about the carnival, I will be home. An enforced day off! After last weeks hectikness, I need it! Variety Show is this coming weekend and this week will be crazy with practice, practice, practice and dress rehersal! I hope the kids don't have a snow day tomorrow, it will interfere with the variety show practices!!

Good Morning!

Deanie--How pretty to be able to watch snow fall. Enjoy your day at home. What Pilates workout did you do? Let us know how the Variety Show is. You seem to have it so together with the clean eating. Do you mind if I ask, what do you eat on a typical day? I continually struggle.:-(

I did Jari Love's Ripped to the Core this morning and it is a good one. She does compound exercises that get your heart rate up. My DH wants me to go out with him to run 1 mile today. I'm scared my leg can't handle it. We'll see.

Who is watching the Oscars tonight? I love to see the beautiful dresses. I've only seen The Queen (liked it), Little Miss Sunshine (did not like), Pursuit of Happyness (liked) and The Devil wears Prada (funny).

No workout yet, maybe later.

Deanie - We will be starting March 5th. Glad you liked pilates and let us know which one you did.

Gin - Glad you liked Ripped to the Core. Go easy on the run. Maybe alternate running and walking.

I'm going to try and watch most of the Oscars. I also saw The Devil Wears Prada. Really enjoyed it.

Marcy- Hope you get to workout today!

Gin- Here is a sample of what I eat. I'm not sure if its clean, but its as close as I can get. I have my husband and 2 growing boys to cook for and I refuse to make more than one dinner at night!

breakfast: steel cut oats with splenda brown sugar(1/2tsp) and spray butter, orange (If I did weights that morning I eat 1 c.Kashi cereal, dry and an orange instead of the oats)

mid morning: omlete, (or 1/2 Cliff or gensoy bar if I'm working), or 1/4 c. rigotta cheese-part skim, or 3 cheese sticks (low fat of course), or something 3 ww points protein

lunch- rice and beans, chef salad (2 points chick, turkey & 1pt. cheese) with 1/2 bagel with butter spray, or cheese omelete if I didn't have that morning, or spegetti squash, green beans and 2 boca burgers

midday snack- either popcorn, or vanilla yogert with apple cut up in it and cinamon sprinkled on top. (sometimes due to crazy schedule, this is skipped!)

dinner- always a green(steamed broccli, gr. beans, snap peas), always a carb (2points of it)- either brown rice or potatoe(Ill have 1/2), I found Barilla makes a pasta called Barilla plus which is a multi grain pasta with protein and omega-3, and I usually have about 4 ounces of whatever meat I've made: chick, turkey, red meat.
eta: I usually have a whole wheat roll with Smart Start butter on it with dinner! I love carbs!!}(

after dinner snack: popcorn or ww ice cream (don't always have this snack, depends if I'm hungry or not)

Also, for dinner, my kids and I tend to lean more towards veggie meals, so I try for 2 vegetarian meals a week, 2 fish meals a week. And if there's left over, I'd eat that for lunch (I hate to waste):)

I was going to say this is not exact, but sadly I think it is!! I may need more variety in my life!!:) Also, I'm never sure if I eat enough or too much. According to WW, I'm eating about 21-26 points a day. I hope I've helped! Any suggestions or critques are welcome:)

Deanie--Thank you so much for taking the time to post your typical menu. It all sounds good and doable to me. It looks well-balanced and it must work for you.
My problem has been: I will have an orange, oatmeal with walnuts for B, an apple, can of tuna and maybe a bag of veggies for L and then when I get home at 2 or 3 I am starving and if stressed, will overeat the carbs and sweets, then not want dinner. It is a bad habit that I need to break!
I can see that I need more protein and veggies. I could easily be a vegetarian.

Gin- I would be hungry after lunch if I didn't eat till 3 either! And I could easily over do the carbs. I would never do Atkins, I must have my bagel a day!!:) I also love my oatmeal and cereal!! I used to be a vegetarian, till I got pregnant with my first. then my body craved meat! I couldn't believe it!:)

My pilates workout was Physicalmind Workout II (intermed./adv. workout). Its the one I got in '92 from the pilates institute in Santa Fe.(this was before you could find Pilates workouts everywhere) They probably have a website now, but I don't know it. I actually may look for it and see if they have a new workout out.
