Good Morning Girls

It snowed yesterday, about 6 inches! It is beautiful outside! The kids actually have school today, but it is a 2 hour delayed opening, so I again, got to sleep late:) I did Imax 2 today (following week one of Cathes Jan 07 rotation) and it was actually fun. Interval and blast 7 is my favorite, and I don't like blast 8 at all!! Those sumos seem like they go on forever! What about you guys?

Tracee- are you also doing the same week as me? Missed you this weekend- hope all is well.

Gin- Did you do Imax 2 today? How's the leg? I answered your post yesterday, about the pilates workout I did. And I forgot to mention, when I work, alot of times I take a PB sandwich on WW bread, or 1/2 a PB sand. with 2 cheese sticks and cut up carrots! I was making it this morning for lunch and can't believe I forgot to put it in!!:) Also, PB and apples for a snack is great, but I haven't had that in a while! Its so easy to OD on PB!

Marcy- I missed Cathe so much after a week (even though I did CK) I can't believe you are doing a whole month with out her! Do you miss her, or do you need the variety?

Have a good day all,
BBL,

Deanie

Good Morning!

I didn't think I was ready for IMAX2 so I got on the elliptical for 30 min. and will get on the bike for 30 min. before yoga tonight. The only part of me that is sore from yesterday's JL Ripped to the Core is my calves! Go figure!

Deanie--Thanks again for all of the great meal ideas. I have to watch it with the pb...I love it too much!:)

Marcy--I didn't realize you were taking a month from all of Cathe's w/os.

Tracee--Hope you have a great day!

Good morning ladies. It's nice to be able to check in again even though I'm feeling like a big dud. I didn't workout at all over the weekend and I missed this mornings workout too. I woke up around 1:00 in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep until 4:00 so I wasn't about to get up an hour later to exercise. x(

Deanie - I was planning on doing IMAX2 this morning though. I am going to follow Cathe's Jan. rotation as much as possible this week.

My oldest son had an indoor baseball tournament this weekend so that kept me busy and when I wasn't there I was doing laundry and other cleaning at home. I sure wish I could afford a cook and a maid!! I love going to the sporting events but I hate what it how it messes with the rest of my regular duties.

Hope you guys had a great weekend, I'm going to go back and read the checkin conversations for the days I missed.

Good morning girls!

It snowed here too. I think we got about 3-5 inches. Not too bad, just real slushy. This morning I did Ripped to the Core. It felt really good and I upped some of my weights from the last time:

Warmup - 5#
Reverse lunge & side squat - went from 8 - 10#
Chest press with hips raised - 10# - first 2 sets, 8# - 2nd 2 sets
(this was one of the tougher exercises for me)
Bent leg deadlift with bicep curl - went from 8 - 10# (I like this exercise)
Wide squat with upright row - went from 8 - 10#
Stiff leg deadlift with lat row - went from 8 - 10# (my favorite exercise, I also do these one-legged to work the core)
Squat with lat raise and anterior raise - 5#
Tricep kickbacks with core work - 5#

Burned 361 calories. Was in my THR zone for 35 minutes.

Deanie - I do miss Cathe, but I need the variety. I did KPC last week and it felt real good.

Gin - I'm surprised your calves are sore. I never feel anything in my calves from this workout. Feel it more in my chest and shoulders.

Tracee - A cook and a maid sounds real nice! Don't feel bad about missing workouts. As you know, I miss plenty but my body isn't falling apart. I just miss doing my workouts because it makes me feel so good. Enjoy your son's activities. Before you know it, it will be a distant memory. I just started getting "me" time in the last couple of years.

Have a great day everyone. BBL.

Deanie -

You really never ate a Twinkie??!! Amazing! I sure had my share as a kid but I stay away from them like the plague now (well, except once when my DH brought them home. I couldn't resist.) I do remember Funny Bones though but I rarely ever ate them.

Marcy

Seriously, I never ate a Twinkie!!! LOL! My mom is/was an excellent cook and she also baked almost everyday. The only packaged cakes we ate were ho hos, funny bones, and ding dongs and sometime tastycake cupcakes. We always had cake at dinner though for dessert! She also took Wilton cake decorating classes and we always had great cakes for our birthday parties! Those were the days:)
Deanie

PS she also baked 2 3D cakes- a wedding bride and groom- for my engagement party! they were awesome! (and delicious!!)

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Tracee--Enjoy your children's sporting events. You will have such good memories. Don't worry about the rest. I've never heard of indoor baseball and I went to many games. Interesting.

Marcy--How old is your youngest? Mine is a soph. in college, so we have been empty nesters for 1 1/2 years. I was curious as to how many calories burned doing Ripped to the Core. It did feel like a cardio w/o . My calves have been sore all day!

Deanie--Where did the talk about the packaged cakes come from?;-) I missed that conversation. I have never heard of Funny Bones, but I do remember Ding Dongs. My mother, like yours baked and did not EVER buy store-bought snacks. But, my good friend across the street had Ding Dongs at her house!:9

Gin

Hi again!

Gin - My youngest is 17, will be 18 next month and will be graduating high school. My daughter doesn't live at home anymore (she just turned 20). I think my son will be with us for awhile though. I think because Ripped to the Core is compound exercises (using more muscles) and more reps, it is more of a cardio workout. I think I mentioned in my earlier post I burned 361 calories today. Last time I did it, I burned 398. I guess I was in better shape this time because I upped my weights and got through it easier.

Unfortunately, my mother wasn't a cook and worked full time so I had more packaged items. Ding Dongs were good but my all time favorite was Suzy Qs!

Marcy

You guys are making me hungry talking about all these snacks. Yum! I loved Ding Dongs and Ho Ho's, never heard of the bones things and hated Twinkies so never ate those.

My husband grew up having a dessert after dinner and now my kids have come to expect it too. I don't do much baking but we always seem to have plenty of packaged sweets. :(

We didn't get much snow in my area, maybe an inch and we missed the freezing rain too. It's been snowing most of the day today but it doesn't look like any of it is sticking to the pavement so that's good. I just wish the temperatures would get out of the 30's!!

Have a good night everyone.
