Deanies Rotation Check In Valentines Day

Cathlete
Good Morning All!! And happy valentines day:)

I am surprised I am the first poster! I slept late today because school was cancelled and my DH is actually off today. So I didn't even start working out till 7:40- what luxury!! I did DM I just can't do this workout enough!! I love it! and since I had extra time, I did C&W abs.

I am really enjoying this snow day. The kids and DH are out in the snow, I'm here with my tea and reading my book.(and posting on Cathe!!:) )

Marcy- It looks like I can start on March 5th:) So I am happy to join you. I'm not sure what I'm going to do on my extra week, I may do a week of PUB/PLB and cardio from Cathes Jan. rotation.

Gin- I answered you last night, hope you saw it. Are you reading any good books? I'm starting the 13th tale today. I wasn't going to read it but a couple of people recommended it so I'm giving it a try.

Tracee- what did you end up doing today?

I am going to do KM bootcamp tommorrow, and next week do CK. I have a "craving" to do KM and can't wait till next week (when I planned to do it)}(

Hope you all have a great v-day- Are you doing any thing special? We aren't because we are snowed in. I did get a beautiful card from DH though!!

Have a good one,
BBL,

Deanie

Good morning Deanie and those who follow.

It sounds like the snow day made it easier for you but for me it throws a wrench in my plans so it had me all screwed up. That's not the reason I didn't get my workout done though. My DD decided to wake me up at 3:30 in the morning so I couldn't get back to sleep until 4:30 and then I was restless the rest of the night.

I had planned to do BC this morning and was really looking forward to it so I'm going to do it tomorrow and then step blast on Friday and maybe MIS on Saturday.

Deanie - I think I'm going to do PLB/PUB during that extra week too. I was looking at them yesterday and thinking how much I miss doing them. Not sure what I'll do for cardio, something fun though.

Are those fiction books that you guys are reading? I enjoy fiction and read as much as I can.

Gotta go. I'm starting to get busy at work so I'm not able to hang out at Cathe's site as much as I used to.

Hi Deanie and all who follow,

I did Jari Love's Ripped 1000 today. And no, I didn't burn 1000 calories. Only 398, and I didn't even finish the whole thing (ran out of time) and am not up to full workout potential yet. I think I liked it but I'll have to do it at least once more to decide. The cardio was very basic, mainly fast foot repeaters, jacks, basics. She repeats the same cardio a lot which is something I don't like. Very simple, athletic choreography. The strength work is compound moves which I do like. One move that was different and fun was the tricep extension on the step with leg abduction. It also works the core because you need a strong core for this to keep your balance. She also did a clean and press, squat and press, wide squat with bicep curl, 70 pushups (just like Cathe but doesn't do the slow counts at the end), chest press and chest fly, stiff leg deadlift, reverse fly, side squat and lunge back with front shoulder raise, pulsing squats and lunges. She does a bit more abs in this workout. She does a crunch with a dumbbell to a standing over head press, reverse crunches, in and outs, knee to chest, legs up and down, bicycle. I was in my target heart rate zone for 50 minutes. Circuit workouts really keep my heart rate up throughout the whole workout. I think I liked Cathe's Drill Max better (better music, choreography) but I think this is still a good workout.

As for the snow, my DS had off today. He already shoveled twice for me. It's still sleeting now and very windy.

Today is my 14th anniversary. Got flowers a couple of days ago from DH. He always send them a couple of days early, this way they're in full bloom by Anniversary Day. Also got card and chocolates this morning. Not that I need them, but I am a chocoholic. At least he didn't get me the really big box this time.

Glad you can start on the 5th. I wanted to get a full month in of high rep/low weight workouts. How is Cardio Kicks? I can't really get enough of a feel for it just from the clip. CK and Circuit Max is on ebay and I'm thinking of getting it.

Tracee/Gin: Hope you have great workouts.

Have a great V-day everyone. BBL.

Marcy

Marcy- Happy Anniversary!!!:* :* I really like CK and Circuit Max. They are both very good workouts. CK is like a pre-KPC without abs- but your abs definately get worked. It is ALOT of fun to do! Every time I do it- I think "this is my fav. kickbox" but then I'll do KPC and say the same thing!!!-LOL So, its definately up there! I also like Circuit Max- you can do it as is, a circuit, or you can just do the cardio which is tough!! its 2 cycles step, 2 cycles hi/lo, 2 cycles kickbox! If circuits really keep your heart rate up you definately will like this! (It has basic moves, but they are hard- sort of like DM with leg cardio involving some arm work with it.)

Tracee- I always get fiction/non fiction confused- the books I read are "made up"/ not real. Also, I looked over Cathes Jan. Rotation and I'm going to do week one (maybe sub. DM for SJP- we'll see) that week before we start Debbies rotation. I just can't seem to get enough of DM!- LOL. And I love the results I see and feel from it-

Deanie

eta: Marcy- I realized I have both CK and CM on vhs if you are interested before you spend alot of money.....

Deanie,

Thanks. Yes, I would be interested. I can send you an SASE. You can PM me with your address. Do you need them back? Maybe not, since you have Cathe's whole collection on DVD now:D :D

Marcy

Happy Valentine's Day Ladies!!

I did the original Body Max (upper body only), yoga class and then walked on treadmill this morning. I had never done Body Max and I liked it medium. She moves very quickly from one body part to the next.

Deanie--I did see your post from last night. I would love to be able to workout in my basement, but don't think it would ever work. DM is a toughie....you have a lot of endurance to do that one and say you can't get enough!!:p Let me know what your Feb.26th week rotation would be, so I can try to follow somewhat. I am now used to following someone's rotation, so I don't have to think too much.:) I am reading "fluff" right now. It is a biography on Julia Roberts. I just like her. I just checked out Miss Juila Stands her Ground by Ann B. Ross to read next. I don't know anything about it, but it looked funny.

Tracee--What do you think I should do in place of PUB/PLB? I only have the FitTV versions and I think I get shortchanged.

Marcy--Happy Anniversary!! I am also a chocoholic. The kids at school all gave me chocolate yesterday for V Day.:p I just bought CK/CM from ebay after Deanie raved about it and then watching the clip. Looked like fun!

Enjoy your snow day, guys. It is snowing here now, but of course it doesn't stick. Looks pretty as it falls, though.

Gin

Gin,

Re PUB/PLB - I don't think too much is missing from the Fit TV versions. PLB is only 49 1/2 minutes so you should only be missing about 5 minutes. Maybe calf exercises are missing. PUB is 56 1/2 minutes. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I don't think the PUB abs are on the Fit TV version. What other strength workouts do you have? Maybe I can make another suggestion.

Marcy

Marcy--
I am pretty much just doing upper body work right now (for the next 4-5 weeks or so) as my leg heals.
I have: (all of these are the full dvd)
GS BSB
GS C&T
PP/SS
PH/MIS/BM
MM

From FitTV, I have the following taped:
ME
S&H series
PUB/PLB

Thanks,
Gin

Gin -

I would do the Gym Styles in place of PLB/PUB. MIS is also good but I really hate that workout (I guess because it's real tough!). Maybe you could also blend a workout using PP and SS. I like the upper body stuff in those two or maybe you could do one of the premixes.

Marcy

Gin- for the week of Feb. 26th I am doing week one of Cathes Jan. 07 Rotation. I think Tracee is too, or something similar. I actually like Cathes rotation. I like the Pyramids.

Deanie

Wow, you guys are busy on the boards today, I love it.

I like following someone else's rotation too because it saves me from thinking about it too much. If I have to think too much then I'll talk myself right out of doing it. x(

I'm a fiction reader (that's the made up stuff, Deanie) and I've been working my way through Catherine Coulter's books that are based around two FBI agents. I don't get too much time to read but try to squeeze it in where I can.

Happy Anniversary Marcy! It will be my 14th later this year too. Can't believe it's been that long! :)

Gin - I think Marcy gave you great suggestions about replacements for PUB probably better than I could have since I don't have the GS workouts yet.

Have a good rest of the day. I probably won't be back until tomorrow morning.

Tracee

Marcy--Thank you for the upper body workout suggestions. Good substitutes.

Deanie--So, after the Feb. 26th week of Cathe's Jan 07 rotation, then we start Debbie's 4 week rotation on March 5th? Will I then be bikini ready?? HA! Thank you for figuring all of this out!

Gin
