Good Morning all

Beware the Ides of March }(

Today was PLB and 20 min. cardio. I did PLB, same weights as Cathe, and I did the add on hi/lo from SJP. I think I use that add on the most of all the premixes I have. Its a great 20 min cardio- not step, not kickbox, not tooo hard (like MIC hi/lo)- and I don't have to get on the elliptical. We had a treadmill, but it broke about a year ago. I would love to get a new one, but.......

Woke up starved, worked out first then ate, had a cup and a half of Kashi (dry) and now having a cup of tea!:) I'm still starving!!!!I'm trying to hold out till 10:30ish for my mid morning meal......

Short post today, hope everyone has a great workout/day!!

Hi all!

Today was PLB for me. I was going to do the KM drills too but my body is really aching today. I did the w/up, only plie squats (30, 36, 40), deadlifts (30, 36, 42) and calf raises of standing work and the stability ball work and stretch. Those outer thigh lifts still kill me every time. When Cathe says if you want, you can put on ankle weights, I mutter to myself "What is she crazy?!!" For deadlifts, I think I have to go heavier. I have really flexible hamstrings and hyperextended legs and I go to the floor with the bbl. I tried using my toes on weights but I still wasn't really feeling it. I think I'll have to do them with my feet on the step so I can go down further.

I also like the hi-lo from SJP. Like the music and it's fun. I wish Cathe did more hi/lo. I think Christy Taylor has the best hi/lo. I have one from Rob Glick that I like too. I woke up starved too but I really don't like to eat before I work out. This morning I had an egg white, 2 slices Arnold Double Fiber Bread with spray butter and a pear. Snacks will be string cheese and a yogurt. Lunch is probably a sandwich and salad. I have another seminar today so I don't know what they're serving. Tonight is probably leftover chicken tetrazzini from last night. I know this is really bad but it tasted so good! My DS loves it when I make this. He actually told me he loved me last night when I told him what I was making. As kids get older, they don't say that as much anymore. Instead of helping with homework now, I'm teaching him how to write out a check. Those are the things they don't teach them in school.

Deanie - I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't clean too much. Yes, the dust bunnies do fly on occasion in my house. I did manage to mop the floor on Tuesday and dust a little yesterday.

I found a great rotation by FitnessFreak called "Muscle Building & Defining Rotation. Here's the link: http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=4650&mesg_id=4650&page=

It combines endurance with heavy lifting - e.g., she does S&H chest and PH Chest.

Tracee - Hope your DS is finally done with his strep.

Have a nice day. BBL.

Hi again,

I also have a hard time feeling the work with deadlifts in my hamstrings. All the yoga I did made them very flexable. The only time I really feel it is in GS legs and you stand on the high step topper! I just don't go all the way up at the end, I worry about my back.

I was playing mahjong this morning and forgot to eat my mid morning snack (1/2 gensoy bar) but with my allergies/sinus' I wasn't hungry. I was starved for lunch though. It was at work which was good, it saved me from over eating. It was Quinoa and beans and an orange. I'll prob. have popcorn for snack in a little while, not sure about dinner. DH isn't home and was thinking of pancakes for the kids, but I don't know what I'll have.

I saw that roation of Debbies before. I liked the rotation, but the one hour 20 min. was a turn off for me. I've done a similar rotation(combining S&H with MIS and GS with PS plus cardio) one body part a day and I liked it! I guess I would be game, its hard to say so far in advance. I'd have to mentally psych myself up for the long workout time! I start to zone out after an hour. I also read/heard that working out after 60 min. becomes counter productive. Did you ever hear that? Which is interesting, because Cathes new series are all over an hour.

Hi Tracee!

Deanie,

I had heard the 60 minute rule myself and I pretty much agree with it. When I did Cathe's November rotation with all her new series, I don't think I lost any weight and I was so hungry after all the long workouts I would up eating more. I keep thinking of the saying "less is more". I'm glad all the P90X workouts are all under an hour with the exception of Yoga X which is 92 minutes. Debbie's rotation seemed good to me but I might cut off some of the cardio and yoga. She also seemed to have a lot of ab work. I've heard doing too much ab work is counterproductive as well and might result in a thicker waist. I usually do abs about 2-3 times a week. Yoga definitely made me a lot more flexible. I'm almost back to where I was when I was taking ballet.

I forgot to tell you I put together my door gym. The instructions weren't that great but I figured it out. The problem is my doorframes. They're kind of narrow and because my bedrooms are close together they're not quite even on both sides. I think I'm going to wind up using it on my DS' bedroom door. This means I'll have to go up and down the stairs between chinups/pullups and pushups. I tried it on my basement door but it was too narrow. I think I might be able to do a pullup but my shoulder is still a little sore and I don't want to push it just yet.

Tracee - Hope you and your family are okay.

Marcy- I totally agree! I did well with the Nov. rotation, but I was very hungry. I think I lost inches on my hips, but the workouts were to long! I would do Debbies rotation if we cut out some cardio- that would be great! I don't know really what works best for me- I did the Aug. 06 (bootcamp) rotation, and not only was it too long (over an hour each day) but I didn't lose any thing- inches or weight. I think for me maybe its not the weights or cardio but the eating clean.?? I don't know. There was a post, I forget where, that talked about doing something other than lifting (m.e. or circuits) and what the effects if any, would be. Maybe try a search for it.

How dissappointing about the door gym and not being able to use it where you wanted.:( Have you looked in Target for a chin up bar? they are $12 and they fit in any door frame- well, that's what it says on the box.:) Maybe that would work for you. More power to you for running up and down the stairs during a workout. I'm too lazy:)

glad your shoulder is feeling better-

Deanie
