Good Morning Ladies!

Today was a 3 mile run, GS BSB and Stretch Max 3. I posted a yummy and healthy pancake recipe on PYGFO if you guys are interested.
My a/c is out upstairs and it is going to get quite toasty this aft. Calling the repairman this morning!

Hi to Deanie, Marcy, Tracee and Cheryl!!
Have a great day!
Gin:)

Good Morning Gin and all who come after :)

Today was GS BSB and I did KPC abs, so I wasn't doing abs 2 days in a row. I did BSB using mix and match and I may always do it like this!!! I really enjoyed it, and for some reason, it only took me 45 min. including warm up and cool down. I think because it cuts out some info, like tips, and quick stretches from Cathe. Marcy, you were right about missing the first rep doing the mix and match, I had to add it on at the end, especially with the underhand lat rows!

[b/]stats:[/b/]
[b/]back:[/b/]
underhand lat rows: 27# 2 sets 8 reps, last set 10 reps
1 arm row: 30# 10 reps
pullovers: 30#
[b/]shoulders:[/b/]
seated overhead press: 15# 1st set(then remembered I wanted to do 17#, so 17# for next 2 sets:)
bent arm side lat: 12#
rear fly: 8# (stayed the same, my form suffers with higher weight)
[b/]biceps:[/b/]
BBL curl: 35# both sets (would like to go up, but not to 40#, I need to look into those platelet things)
crazy 8's: 12#
concentration curls: 15#, 2nd set 17# for the first 5 then 15# for the last 3
curlup and forearm reverse down:15#
hammer curls: 15#
wrist curls: 12#

I was able to raise all my weights except rear delt flys and BBL curls, I really think it was because of the mix and match!! I'm not sure what the benefit is to doing it this way. Does it make your muscles more defined? I like it, just curious. Can't wait to try it with C&T, I would love to up my tricep weights.

Gin[/font/]~Thanks for the recipe. I printed it out and will try it soon. I need to buy wheat bran and splenda. When you use an egg white, how many do you use?

Marcy/Tracey/Cheryl[/font/]~ hope you had a grreat weekend, and a wonderful workout today:)

Later~

Marcy--I like the way you did the Mix and Match. I may like to try that also. I stayed the same in weights as last week, but went up with shoulder press to 15#.
I always measure the egg whites for some reason. I double the recipe and usually use 3, so try 1 or 2.
A/C repairman is here. I need a new pump. $$$ :p

Hi guys. Seems like forever since I've checked in but it was only the weekend. Ha! I missed so many workouts last week and felt like I needed to fit in the cardio so I did Lowmax today. Plus, I'm really sore from doing GS C&T on Saturday so I didn't want to attempt BSB this morning.

Can you guys explain what is different about doing BSB in mix n match? Is the order different or just that it cuts out some of the chit chat in between? I'm confused.

Glad to see that some of you have figured out the font changes. I find it to be quite time consuming so I don't think I'll be using it much! Usually when I write my posts, I go as quickly as I can and don't even re-read them. Probably explains a lot of misspelled words, etc. ;)

Gin - Wish I could say we even needed our AC. It's only going to be in the mid 60's today and rainy. Yuck!!

Also, I started doing Lowmax with the 8" step which is the way I normally do this one but noticed that my back was started to get that painful twinge that I complained about last week. Anyway, I thought maybe it had to do with the step height so I lowered it and it was better. I still felt a few twinges throughout the workout but I definitely think my back problem is related to the step routines.

That's all for now. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi Girls!

I did GS BS&B today. I think I'm going to stick with GS instead of switching off with PS. I'll save PS for another rotation. Here are my stats:

Dbbl Row Reverse Grip - 29# both sets (stayed same).
One Arm Rows - 29# 1st set, 31# 2nd set (only did 10 reps)
Bbl Pullover - 40# both sets (went up 4#)
Dbbl Overhead Press -16# all 3 sets (3rd set only 8 reps)
Dbbl Lat Raise - 13# both sets (stayed same)
Dbbl Rear Fly - 13# 1st set, 15# 2nd set
Bbl Curls - 36# 6 reps 1st set, 36# 3 reps 2nd set (went up 2#) (did these at the end of the workout and I guess I ran out of steam although bicep work always kills me anyway)
Dbbl Curls Partial Reps - 10# both sets (I think I'll try 12# next week)
Dbbl Concentration Curls - 16# 1st set (went down to 13# for last 2 reps and 2 reps of bonus work), 13# second set - did all reps (stayed same for round 1. Didn't do 2nd set last week.
Curl Up/Wrist Down - 13# (went up 1#)
Hammer Curls - 13# (did all including bonus; didn't complete bonus last time)
Dbbl Wrist Curls - 13# both sets (went up 1#)

Gin - Hope your AC gets fixed soon. Sorry it's costing you. Maybe it would be better to try and get a new one. They might be cheap this time of year. I'll have to go look at recipe after I'm done here. I guess Tracee and I have the same weather today because it's not even going to reach 70 degrees today. Congrats on upping your shoulder press weights. Overhead presses are one of the toughest shoulder exercises for me.

Tracee - Glad you figured out your back problem. As far as mix-n-match, I wanted to do it this way because it was more of the push/pull method like in P90X and I found that I had more energy this way and my muscles weren't so fatigued. With Cathe, I always find that I needed extra rests. Although I did all of Cathe's pushups without extra rests for the first time last week. I also think it cuts out the chit chat and extra stretches in the workout but I found I didn't miss the stretches, maybe because I didn't stay on one body part for too long.

Deanie - Great workout! I don't think mix-n-match will make you more defined but you might be able to up your weights because you'll have more energy. With the X, each week I always tried to either up my reps or my weight and I think I was able to do that because of the push/pull method which is what Cathe's going to do in the new series.

Cheryl - Hope you had a great weekend/workout.

Hi Again!

I have a question for you girls.....Someone on the yaya site is selling the vhs version of PS back and abs and PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps for $5.00 each(postage incl.) I have gone back and forth on whether I want this one on dvd. They are not offering the PS legs though. What do you girls think??

Marcy--Way to go on the heavy weights!

Tracee--Glad your back felt better when you lowered your step height. My back bothers me off and on and can't ever figure out what does it. After all of the kickbox on the RT, my back hurt.:-( My a/c is fixed now. I can't imagine not needing a/c in the summer in TX!! Last week we went to a baseball game and at 9pm the temp. was 92 degrees!!

Off to work on my school room!
Gin:)

Gin~ I think you should go for the PS videos. You can always sub GS legs or any other leg workout. Keep us posted.I am glad your a/c got fixed. I cannot imagine anything worse than no a/c!!!! nothing!!!!:)

Marcy~great workout today. I can't believe how heavy you can go on the rear delt flys!:) I have a hard time with the 8's!

Tracee~ Sorry to hear about your back. Atleast you have an idea of how to help it. Low max is my second favorite imax. I have also done the blasts with a 5# db. Have you? I am impressed you don't even look at the posts you write. When I don't I find that's when I have to edit, because of spelling or something!

Have a good evening!
Deanie

Gin - I also think you should go for the PS videos. They sound pretty reasonable. You can pretty much get all the leg work from PS in L&G, B&G and GSL and I actually didn't care too much for the ab work in this one anyway. Glad you got your A/C fixed! I was lucky I actually didn't need mine this a.m.

Deanie - If I could just give you a little of my shoulder and tri strength and you give me a little back/chest strength, we'd both be perfect!:) Congrats on your DS' successful business venture!
