"Dawn" lamps/alarm clocks?

Does anyone use one of those alarm clocks that have a light to simulate the dawn? If so, is there a brand and a type you would recommend? I am thinking about getting one. My bedroom is normally pretty dark to begin with, and it has been dark and rainy all week--it reminded me how much trouble I have waking up in the morning in the middle of the winter.

I got one for my stepmother (she has SAD, so it helped with that as well). She really likes it, and says it works well. I don't remember the brand, but I got it at www.gaiam.com several years ago. You can also use it as a reading lamp, which she likes, because the light can be nice and bright.
