Danskin Barbell???

You gals are probably sick of my questions all of the time but here goes another one.

I was in Academy Sports today and saw a Danskin soft barbell with some weights and clips for $39.99. (This is a boxed set.) Do any of you use this or know anything about it? This would be a lot better than my hubby's hard metal barbell. I also saw the same thing at Walmart but it was a lighter weight.

I've never seen a Troy lite but is it similar to this one?

Hi Shirley:

You might want to see my post from earlier this week "where can I get a decent barbell" on the open discussion board. Someone sent me a link to one through amazon and I ordered it. An 80 pound set with nylon weights (quieter) for $28 including shipping.

I saw that Danskin one too. I liked the padding, but it only goes to 22 pounds, and 36 if you buy some extra stuff. That may be OK for you now, but you'll quickly surpass that weight and will have to replace it. Hope this helps.
