So I am curious to know your current thoughts on your family situation after the Dr. Phil question yesterday. It is quite an intense, situation, is it not? I was worried why I was the only one that answered and wondered if you are okay.

Debbie

Hey, Debbie, thank you so much for your concern and advice! I have just now been able to get on the computer to see what has been posted.

I feel sad. I am okay, and I talk to my sister almost every day. I just hate feeling so helpless and unable to do something the make life better for someone I love so much. I really want her to get help, along with BF, before it gets to a point where they are really hurting each other. But I just can't make her.

How do I get someone involved? I don't want her to feel attacked in any way, but I do want what is best for her. Thank you so much for asking today! That is really sweet of you!

I'm glad you're okay! You can't really force involvement at this point other than talking to them about intervention. Once the child is there, however, that is a totally different story. They lose the right to choice at that point, which I would make clear to them. I know it sounds harsh but it seems like a bad situation that could get worse. I hope things start to go in the right direction soon. Keep me updated!

i really hope things start to work out for your sister, but i also hope that YOU have a really good support system. i know it seems that your sister is the one with the problem, but obviously it has seriously affected you also. even if you can't get help right away for her, you should consider getting help for yourself so you can lead a somewhat "normal" life. i'm sending good thoughts your way;)
