DAMAGE of INSANE porportions is what happens when one loses CONTROL! *monday*

I'm back!

I shortened GS Chest b/c I didn't feel it was necessary to do all of it. I actually did the first 16 push ups from the drop set and felt strong but stopped there. I did 2 out of 3 sets of both the standard chest press and chest fly. I did 1 out of 2 sets of the incline bench work and skipped the close grip barbell presses all together. I think I got a great work out w/o over-doing it. :)

Time for a shower.

BBL for personals!

Jen:: Sounds like you had a fabulous Birthday. Good for you. You deserve it! I love that you will wait to go shopping with your gift cards until AFTER you've finished Insanity! That's just awesome! :) Sorry about your dog being sprayed by that nasty skunk. Does she still smell? My SIL's dog gets sprayed quite often. In fact, she got sprayed the morning of my BIL's birthday dinner. They didn't have time to wash the stink outta her so they were forced to lock her up in the basement all day so that she wouldn't stink up the house for the guests. So in addition to shortening up the chest work in GS, I actually think I will repeat the back segment at the end of the week. Insanity really has no back work in it. The X works back 2x per week so I figure it would be more then okay. I have an extra day in my rotation for my run so that is the perfect place to put it. :)

Lori:: So you are starting the GS Series this week? Jen and I are using that with Insanity right now so you'll have some company. I hear ya on the jeans and agree that that is USUALLY the case but the ones I was wearing on Saturday were so NOT falling off me by the end of the night! That's part of why I love 'em so much! :D

Jacque:: So you made it through PCC despite the lingering head ache? I'll bet it was completely gone by the time you were done!!! So did you ever manage to do anything constructive post work out y'day? :p

We watched a move on PPV called "The Wrestler" last night starring Mickey Rourke. Good movie. It's based on a true story about a wrestler who was hot in the 80's and what happened to him once he became a "has been". It was sad....I am soooo not a wrestling fan but I still enjoyed the movie.

Hi Ladies,

Another Monday is upon us! So yesterday was supposed to be my first spin class... there's only 6 of us and the instructor took body comp and measurements. By the time we were done with that there wasn't any time to even set up our bikes etc. She just said come early next week and we will go through the setup. I hate paying for an 8 week session and only getting 7. I was more mad because that was supposed to be my workout yesterday. The only w/o I got was steam cleaning a bedroom and moving furniture!

This morning was CPR, I think this is my favorite Insanity w/o so far. Probably because its hard, but I can do it...and it doesn't have those dreadful level one drills! I'm off to run errands at lunch, need to pick up an anniversary gift for DH. It will be 21 years on Thursday!:D

Not sure what's going on, but I noticed my last couple of posts from my laptop have been lost in cyberspace.

Jen-It sounds like you had a fabulous birthday yesterday. There is an article in FitnessRx that talks about how good this High Intensity training is for both building muscle and losing fat. It makes me feel better about torturing myself everyday!

Wendy-Nice job getting some upperbody in also. I'm planning on working from home tomorrow and throwing in some UB work too. If not tomorrow, it will be Wednesday at the Rec Ctr.

Jacque-Oh yes, it's definitely hard to get up on Monday's for sure. It sounds like you are feeling a bit better too. Our temps have dropped down in the 70's for this week and I'm loving it.

Morning Lori & Laura, what are you two up to today?

Lunchtime already? Wow that was a quick morning. I'll not complain though as I am anxious to get my workout in today. :p

Wendy - I have to say that I think pushups is one of the best overall UB workouts (other than it hitting the biceps much) so I'm sure that shortening the GS workout still got you a good workout ! Yes I made it through y'day and Insanity does my make nose "drip" right along with the sweat so it did help relieve some of the pressure ! :p After my nice long warm shower I water the entire yard (which I have majorly been neglecting) and within a couple hours it was sprinkling pretty good ! Oh well - guess it was the thought that counted. I liked the Wrestler too and am not a wrestling fan either. Sorry for the slow day on the thread here ! Funny how it goes sometimes - 20+ posts on day and barely 10 on another.

Diana - bummer you lost a few posts to us this weekend. :( So whatcha gettin' DH for your anniv? We don't do much since we are at a point where we can buy what we want throughout the year (nice when you don't have to spend $ on kids . . .) but I always get roses and I give him chocolates or something similar. This year it was madeline cookies and some Hagen Daz pints. :p Hope the spinning class is fun - I have always heard they are tough tough tough. We've got low 70's again but supposed to heat up the the 80's in a day or two. I don't mind when it isn't too much higher than 90's. That makes it a bit uncomfortable.

Off to find something to eat for my Insanity energy later !

Good Evening Ladies.

Okay..the more I think about it, the more I am reconsidering extending month 1 of Insanity in order to start month 2 with you all. Although I'd love to do it all with you, I am afraid of pushing it too far. I also want to see what my TRUE results are after doing the rotation as intended for 2 months. You all have each other and we WILL spend some time huffing and puffing to month 2 all together so I don't feel TOO badly for changing my mind. That being said next week is my recovery week! YEE HAW! I'll bet cardio core and balance ain't no joke though! It's probably killer in it's own right! I am planning on running a couple times that week but I will likely forgo any other add-ons until after I've begun Month 2 and see what I can handle.

Diana:: Yeah, paying for a class where you don't work out is lame but I think the same thing happens when you hire a trainer. The session where they weigh/measure you and discuss your goals is part of the deal. You have to pay for it since it's part of the service and taking the trainer's time. Same deal with the spin class instructor. They shld have made it 9 classes though so that you get a full 2 months of spinning out of it. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

Jacque:: So how did your evening work out go? Everyone I've talked to so far that has seen the movie (The Wrestler) has liked it and it's been all women so far! Murphy's law definitely took over if you watered your lawn and then it rained. That's like washing your car and having it rain! LOL

Guess that's all for now.

Have a great night!

Done with CPR - good workout - I hope this low cal burn these days will kick the metabolism in soon since it is HIIT . . .

Wendy - so you gonna keep it to just one so you don't receive a lovely headache again? Some day I may venture into trying one, but I'm just not a hard alcohol type of person. Have a hard time with margaritas if they are on the rocks and have more than a shot in them. No biggie on not extending your Insanity - it is understandable you probably want to move on to something different. Wow - been doing it an entire month already? Can't wait for your review on the recovery week.

Off to make the veggies for din din. Think I have some yellow squash in the garden that are large enough to pick now. Perhaps mixed with a red pepper, onion and some home grown tomato lightly grilled. OK - making myself hungry now - I'm off.

Enjoy the evening if anyone happens to pop back in tonight !

Jacque:: I had 2 and will not have any more. I should be okay though. Not quite sure why I had the headache Sunday morning. Two usually is okay for me. I guess we will find out in the morning! Good news is that I have no 6am work out scheduled and am off from work tmrw so even if I get ill effects from my indulgences, it won't be the end of the world!
