Damage Control

I had Friday off and have worked out Friday/Sat/Today! Thursday I walked around the lakes, Friday was legs, Sat was STS D16 CST, and today was STS D18 back & biceps plus a 3 mile walk. I still need to mow the lawn and start on some fall clean up in the back yard. Busy, yes, but the temps are in the 70's and so enoyable.

I love juicing, the fresh juice is so good for you. It is a lot of work and the juice has to be drank in 3 days. If you want to be able to have it daily, then you need to juice every 3 days. It's a lot. When I do it, I usually take some to my son since he drinks it. It's good for immunity, digestion and inflamation.

It was our 38th wedding anniversary this last week. We out to lunch on Friday and it was so nice!

We meet with Fidelity guy next month. Hopefully we are still on track for me to retire in 2 to 4 years. I think we are, but we do have some questions for him.

It's about time for Dan to get some relief. My MIL recovered quickly from her hip replacements and I'm hoping the same for Dan. It will be nice for you to be off to take care of him and get a nice break from work.

Well we've been in full "get ready for surgery mode" with DS2 and his girlfriend coming the following week. Lots of shopping and stocking, lots of cleaning and arranging the furniture. I think we're ready! Both cars have been worked on and are in good shape. It will take about 3 months recovery. Dan has been practicing not bending over.

In between I'm just doing weights twice a week, Devi daily, and walking some. My throat has been sore and I'm wondering if it's the silent reflux...still using the daily pill. It's so frustrating. I got my hair cut shorter at last visit and am probably bringing bangs back. The goal is just to have it easier and let the curls go. I look at pictures of me when I was like 6 and I'm going back to that! It's so much easier. It's longer in the back than I want, but I'm doing it in stages so it's not so shocking. The cutting of the bang area was traumatic enough at last visit.

Going to see the Musical: Mystic Pizza today. I'll leave here at 11:30 and get home around 6. So it's pretty much all day between getting ready and driving up and back. It's a new musical with sounds from the 80's and is such a nice distraction from finding a raised toilet seat, a pillow to put between your legs, and the perfect grabber/reacher tool!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

We are past the hip surgery! Dan had to be there at 5:45 AM on Friday. So we were up at 2:30. He was first on the table which was nice. We got home about 4 PM. He's sleeping downstairs on the recliner and walking really well with the walker. We got in the house which was two steps, but he's waiting to go upstairs for a bit.

I started yesterday with 20 minute upper body, Devi, and a decent walk. The leaves are changing and it's gorgeous albeit a bit cool. Today will be 20 minute lower body, Devi, and cleaning. I'm also planning on making some pumpkin chocolate chip breads. One for us and one for when Aaron is here.

Mystic Pizza was fantastic! Lots of Cindy Lauper, the Bengals, and Huey Lewis. It was fun. This month we're going to see The Bodyguard which has Whitney Huston's music. After that we don't see anything until March. I'm glad I found someone to go with. Her husband doesn't enjoy shows either.

Alright! What have you been up to? How is the family? How are your workouts going?

Let me know!

Sorry I've been MIA. Just working alot. I had to work Thursday night until 1:30 am. My body just does not like those night hours. It makes for a long day when I start at 6am. We had a re-org, no one was cut so that was good. The've re-arranged the teams a bit, I'm staying where I was. I should be good for at least a year-I'm hoping anyway. We are meeting with Fidelity on Tuesday. We'll see how things look regarding me retiring and when that can happen.

My workouts have been hit or miss. I usually get at least one weight workout during the week and then on the weekends. Otherwise I just get out for a 3 mile walk on most days. The temps were great last week-in the 70's. This week though we are back into the mid 80's. I'm so over the heat.

Jerod had been looking for new car. He's been driving the Rogue which is mostly working out okay. Not much else going on around here. I have grocery shopping this afternoon and probably some laundry, if I'm so inclined. :)

Glad Dan seems to be recovering well so far. It will be nice to have your son for a visit too. You will get in some good workouts during your time off. Your shows sound like so much fun, such good music!

I hope the Fidelity meeting goes well and you can retire at 62! I'm using up my PTO right now. At this point, I may ask for an extra week here in October. Dan has to go back for his checkup on the 21st. It's so nice just being home!

I'm all for two weight workouts a week. Are you doing total body? Yesterday I did a 30 minute upper body and abs and then Devi. I vacuumed and did wash as well as all the stuff Dan needs and was tired last night! Today is putting the wash away and mow the grass. I don't know if I'll do any legs-have to see how the time and energy are. I didn't work out yesterday until 3 and then had to shower and go to the store to get meds. I need to pace myself better.

Aaron and Katie arrive Saturday! Not sure if Dan will go with me to pick them up. Check out: Seven Springs Retreats in the Smokey Mountains: https://www.sevenspringsretreats.com/retreats for next Spring. Let me know what you think! There are two two day and one three day retreat. Other than this place, I've not found much else. It's pretty expensive, so I'd be open to going to a destination and then trying to find some yoga there or honestly, just doing Devi in the room like we did in Arizona! What an amazing time we had there.

Off to my day-

Have a good one!
