Good Morning!

Just getting us started! I went to bed at a sensible time last night so I feel rested. My 6:30 is still a little sick, so I am going to work in her spot and then I have a 7:30:D My workout will be shorter though and I did touch every body part yesterday with High Reps....so it will just be a run or a small run and one of the HIIT.

I will bbl to catch up!

Good Morning.

At 6:30 I was just rollin' outta bed, Lori! :p

My son's school has a delayed opening this morning so I got to sleep in even later then I had planned on. I'm gonna work out too (supposed to be a rest day) because well, why not, right? ;) I mean, what kind of Cathlete would I be if I passed up an opportunity like this!?! :D

I am very thankful for the extra sleep too because though we went to bed before 9pm, and I slept pretty well for the first part of the night, DS came into the room around 2am with a problem and after getting him back to bed all I did was toss and turn. Then when I would finally start to fall asleep and something would disturb me. UGH.

Welcome back Jacque! I was thinking of you the other day and wondering where you had disappeared to, hoping nothing was wrong. Work sucking isn't GOOD but atleast it's not anything worse. Miss ya when you're not around lady!(((HUGS)))

Diana, Sorry you slept badly on Sunday night. IKWYM about not having trouble sleeping when you weren't working. I miss that! Although I must say, I DID have A LOT of trouble sleeping in the first year of staying home. I was always worrying about paying bills because living on just DH's salary when I first quit my job was a definite challenge until he started making more money. Sorry you had to work while your family slept/hung out. DH worked y'day and DS and I got to hang out. Though will the massive amount of decluttering I did, it was NOT relaxing. I was exhausted y'day! :eek:

Good morning ladies !

Well I must have gotten a good night's sleep - at least a partial night - fell asleep around 10 and by 4 AM I was wide awake. Today I got up, unlike most mornings, :eek:, and am hoping to start a trend so I can workout in the AM's and get ready for my commuting days. Helps when we have hockey games too ! ;)

Wendy - LOL about not closing the bar the other night - you make me feel so old cuz I can barely stay awake at 10 these days ! :confused: ITA about having Joey's party out - we didn't have a Chuck here when mine were little but def started doing pizza parties when they became available - love the no clean up and it really doesn't cost any more ! So I have not even checked out the WOB (Work Out Blender I am guessing?). Do you have to use downloads for it to work or just put your workouts online somehow?

Diana - catching up on posts, woo hoo the Avs beat the Red Wings - I missed that one ! That is a winner winner for sure ! How sweet the girls got a HB from the entire plane ! Nice you had them just prior to their big day. Can you believe how old they are getting? My GS2 will be 2 in April and GS1 will be 4 in July. Man is it flying quickly. I tend to get my fiber from cruciferous veggies, beans have high fiber and I do like my Double Fiber Orowheat bread from Costco. The whole grains have too much carb for me to eat much. Let me know if you find out anything else interesting. Great news on your review ! I'm looking forward to learning lots too - and my boss is on board but I will need to use others for my training. Believe I can still use our Consultant for parts of it. May start on a Master's to grow in the Organizational Development area though. Did you get a good increase to go with it or is the company struggling like most?

LauraR - great job on the flat tummy ! That is one of my inspirational areas too since the menopausal pooch set in a couple years ago ! :confused: For me, a run after sore leg day helps them heal more quickly - I love it ! Sounds like you have a standard of run/walks. Is it your 'go to' cardio lately? My .02 on Plyo Legs - Go for it ! I love those workouts and ITA with Poochy that they though they don't get easier - they really workout your legs. I find they tighten mine up quickly. My fav is to do DM and Plyo Legs for a quick toning without heavy lifting.

Poochy - soooooo sorry about your friend - how is she doing? How did the rest of your weekend go?

Lori - Wowser girl - what a great job on the weigh in lately. Are you leaning up lots or just moving lots. You seem to get a good workout in everyday, always including cardio. That seems to be a good answer, perhaps I should be paying attention ! ?:rolleyes: Interesting story about the old beau . . . crazy how some people do dwell on the past - who has time for that? Have you purchased stock in lulu yet? ;) Wait - no don't - let me do it so you can support me in my old age! :p

Am hoping that has caught me up on personals. Gotta get my foffee going and head on in to my workout room soon for a cardio session. Not sure what is on the rotation - think it will be a step since I have a crick in my neck from the weekend.

Good Morning Ladies,

I took a melatonin tablet and slept great last night. Not sure if I was simply tired or if the the melatonin actually did anything. I may stick with it for a while and see if I notice anything.

Today is CSB, not sure what disc it is, 7 or 8. I may actually make it to the rec ctr at lunch today for a cardio w/o. My first rec center visit this year! I do much better when I can get it those double w/o's, but its just not always doable.

Lori-I'm envious of your energy young lady. Now that you have the remainder of your study materials, when will you be a Certified PT? This summer maybe? You could even advertise in DH's sporting goods store!

Wendy-Did you actually sleep in today? My rest days are pretty much all unscheduled. Never knowing when I might oversleep or have to be to work early...it's just easier to take them when necessary.

Jacque-you're back-yaaayyy. We've missed you. Our increases have been pretty poor the past 5 years....1-3%. We actually had a record year last year but that is not reflected in our increases. My increase was 2.8%, and it wasn't on my paycheck. HR said it had something to do with when the increases were put into the system and my medical leave. They are sending me a separate check for it. I'm still hoping for a promotion but my boss didn't even bring that up in my review. The Paleo diet discourages beans/legumes. You'd have to eat a lot of veggies to get 25-30grams of fiber each day. I still need to read more about this style of eating.

LauraT-hope your DBF is doing better. She has been through so much the past couple years. Prayer and hugs for both of you!

LauraR-You are well on your way back to being a true runner. You are quite motivating I must say. I hope to get some new running shoes soon and get back to running.

Back to report Athletic Step completed and I feel ready for the day !

Diana - When I can't sleep for a few nights I pop 2 of the Melatonin and usually get a good night's sleep. Thinking it has only been once that it didn't help me. Yes, I forgot that I also have flax in the AM too for a little more. Been a while since I counted fiber - aren't apples and bananas good for that too? Seems for me I have problems when I don't eat my veggies and flax and have too many simple carbs but the grains add #s if I go too heavy on them.

Good job on the increase - so do you think the new things you'll be learning will put you in place for a promo next year? Maybe after you have put a few under your belt you could inquire? Not sure what you have in place there, but we use a SMART goals form which is basically a 6 week plan of To Do's that helps to keep you on track and note your accomplishments. Kinda helps set you up for either larger increases or promos once you have proved yourself.

All sounds good and that you are moving forward - for me, learning something new helps not only the company but adds to my resume ! Always need to look out for #1 you know ! :p

Hey, girls!

Between more internet glitches and craziness at work, I've been MIA. Quick post and I'll BBL for personals. Actually, it will prob be tomorrow since it's almost supper time here.

Yesterday was another run-walk. I think it was Jacque who asked if that's my go-to cardio right now. YES! Until I get myself up to running 3 full miles again without walking at all, that's the only cardio I'm doing. I used to run and run, but when my IT bands got tight a while back, I've had a hard time working back into the runs. I found a interval schedule that starts you with short running intervals and gradually increases them till you're running 30 minutes straight. I'm up to running 3 intervals of 8 minutes running and 2 minutes walking. With some hints from Runner's World about shortening my stride and quickening my cadence (and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, my beloved foam roller), the ITBs seem to be cooperating.

Today was PUB, and let me say, after STS, I rocked that workout! :p Tomorrow's another run, and then PLB on Thursday.

Morning Ladies!!!

It has been a LONG long weekend - My DBF is doing EXTREMELY better than expected :eek: :D :D :D we are all shocked and amazed - the Drs are too - the power of prayer is a great thing!!! :D she has defyed all odds - got to visit with her - she is up talking and cutting up - and walking and doing therapy just WONDERFUL - they were expecting SOOOO MUCH worse - it was really RUFF Fri and SAT morning .. but she is sooo strong .. and ONE of a KIND!!! :D I have been on the road all weekend - only managed one workout - BH cardio and Jillans abs .. have some catching up to do for sure!!! :confused:

My DMIL is having surgery this morning - simple hernia surgery - but still scary for us .. say a prayer for her too -

Lori .. eeeewww kinda a creepy story about the long ago EX - he prbly been thinking about you since he saw you a couple of months ago .. that is REALLY kinda stalker creepy :confused: that would kinda freak me out!!! Maybe he is in some sort of "ten/twelve step" program where he has to right the wrongs of the past??? (just thnkn out loud) ...LOL .. congrats on weight loss .. not that you need to loose weight!!

Wendy - LOL on your NOT closing down the bar the other night..:p .. great workouts this weekend!!!

Di -thx for the prayers - she told us that is the ONLY reason she is alive - one of her PA told her she must be filled with the Holy Spirit to have survived what she has .. and I have to agree .. she is LOVED!!!! Sorry the girls are gone - but hey sounds like their plane ride home was special!!!

LauraR - wish I could tape my plyo class .. b/c that last one last week .. I was sore in my legs/butt for dang 4 days .. it works the CRAP outta your lower body!!

Jacque - sorry about the sucky work :( I have been BAAADD on the CABS too ... stressed out and man .. gotta get back on track here .. crap!!!

OK .. better run ... as long as DMIL is ok .. tonight I am planning plyo circuit and shaping class .. my legs will be sore again tmrw.. LOL OK .. better jet .. have a great day!! will BBL to see what everyone is up to!;)
 
Jacque...Yup, WOB is work out blender and yes, it's for use with the downloads. If you don't have the downloads then you can't use the blender but the downloads are useful even if you don't use the blender b/c you can put them on your ipod and travel with them so if the WOB doesn't work out to my liking, I can still utilize the downloads. I'm just not going to invest in any work outs that aren't ez to travel with (meaning little to no equipment) until I know what I want to do with it.

LauraR...I haven't done PUB in ages! I'll hafta try it after I complete my STS rotation to see if I can rock it too! ;) I remember when I first started running, I could barely run 2 minutes w/o needing a walking break. I shudder to think that I'll have to start all over again when I pick it back up but that's probably what will happen. *sigh*

LauraT...Wow, that's fantastic news about your friend!!!! Prayers goin' out to MIL and continued prayers for your friend that she will keep improving even more! :) Bob AND Jillian today? Wow! You are brave! :eek:
