Damage Control...Thursday

Morning.

I'm gonna be tired again today. Slept fine from 9:30 to 2am but then that was all she wrote until close to 4am when my alarm starts going off. :( I snoozed the alarm until close to 5 when I forced myself to get up. I won't get in the hour long work out I wanted to but I really wasn't wanting to totally blow it off so I'll work out for about 30 mins. Better then nothing!

Diana:: I read your suggestion to use melatonin for my sleep issues but I am wary of taking something because sleep aids can be highly addictive in that I've seen many get to the point where they can not sleep with out them after a while. I'm sure it's not an issue for everyone but it still makes me nervous. If not for that though, I would try something...

Gonna be another sleepy day for me...BBL~

Heading off to do PLB. :p

Wendy--melatonin is a natural product and should not be addictive. My DS10 takes it because he has Asperger's and his body does not produce enough on his own. My DH will use some occasionally. There are varying strengths from 1 to 5 mg. You can even get time-release formulas for the situation where you fall asleep but then wake up.

That said, everyone's body is different, and you know yours. But it's not a "drug." Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.;)

Checkin' in quick to say I did 1/2 of 6 week 6 pack w/o #2 and the lunge segment of Tonique Premier. KILLER!

Have finished PLB and Ab Ripper. Am now hosting play group with half a dozen starving 8-year-olds.

LauraR:: Thank you very much for the Melatonin info! I am obviously rather uninformed about it! :p I think I will have to check it out now though! Sounds like it could definitely help me when I'm in my sleepless phase! Great job with PLB...and Ab Ripper too? Is that ARX or an earlier one? I keep saying I need to pop ARX in one day since I am so focused on doing ab work these days but I'm chicken so I keep putting it off! LOL

Hi Ladies,

I did not w/o yesterday. BOOH I got up late and then spent too much time on the computer. The day before that I only got about 2/3rd through CSB. I did finish that w/o but it only took about 20 mins...and started with drop sets of pushups. I did something, but wouldn't really consider it a w/o.

This morning, well I just don't feel like doing anything. I'm working from home today so I certainly can get in a w/o. I need to do cardio at some point.

I had to return my annual review with my comments yesterday. I asked for a follow up meeting with HR and my supervisor to layout a promotion plan for me. Obviously the BS I've had to go through over the past several years was all for nothing (not said in my comments). I said that I'm expected to do similar work as other's on my team who are a higher grade level and that I willingly take on these higher level tasks. I also mentioned all the steps I was told to follow and that I did those that I could do on my own, the 2 steps not completed required supervisor and/or HR involvement. I doubt anything will come of it, but it is documented now.

Wendy-Sorry about the terrible nights sleep. I know all too well about that. I didn't take any melatonin last and slept great. Nice w/o this morning. For some reason I'm not able to get in that 2nd leg w/o each week. I may just give up on that for now and follow the rotation as written.

LauraR-thanks for melatonin description. I actually have some anti-depressants that were prescribed for me when I was having terrible sleep issues. It still seems strange to me that I was prescribed anti-depressant. They really knocked me out and I felt a bit groggy in the mornings. No wonder depressed folks don't get any better. Do you just have 1 child? What does he think about living in Africa, or have been there for his whole life?

LauraT-Glad to hear that both DMIL and DBF are doing well. Your DBF has been through so much over the past couple years. I don't even know her but her strength is inspiring. You are even ramping up your w/o's...way to go.

Hi Lori and Jacque!

Hey Ladies ...

It is crazy in here - FULL MOON - ugh !!! Mish Mosh class was great last night - great sweatfest and muscle burnout - I am a bit sore in the shoulders and chest .. and a bit into the hamsting connection to the butt  (as usual) ... but it is not bad!

Wendy - I use the supplement Ashwagandha - an Ayurvedic supplement - it helps me sleep w/o drowsiness and also is known as an antioxident and immune builder - also a stress reducer!! it is WONDERFUL - and NOT a drug and no side affects! I would strongly reccommend it!!! I have tried meletonin in the past but it never really helped me and you have to be carefull in the SUN while taking it.

LauraR - workout THEN hosting 8 year old's party .. I call that a double whammy! :p you should be tuckered out later!!

Di - I think it is safe to say the my DBF is one of if not THE strongest person that I know - she is an inspiration to all that know her!! Yes I have been ramping up the workouts and can tell a difference - i had lost some UB definition and I am just now starting to get it back .. got a LONG ways to go though!!

Hello to Lori and Jacque!!

So tonight is PLYO class - gonna do the same one I did last week that made all of us so sore .. really not sure why .. except we had not done that particular one in a while??? we will see!!!! OK .. gotta jet it is crazy in here .. have a great one!;)

Hi Ladies,

Work has been crazy busy today. We did a deploy last night and some of the stuff we tested afterwards that was working....is not working now. These kinds of issues make IT look bad. Not good.

I tackled Imax 3 this morning. It was awesome to finally get into the groove. I think picking a favorited helped me out of my slump. The only bad part is my knee is hurting. I slipped on the ice and tweaked it several weeks ago. It seemed to be getting better but I may need to follow the ice & ibuprofen protocol.

I finally made it to my WW meeting. I'm up 2#'s since the last time I weighed, which was before my surgery in mid December. I'm not really too concerned about it, but plan on tracking and logging my foods going forward.

Laura-I plan to look into Ashwagandha. It's nice to have options. I'm not the sun goddess that you are so melatonin is fine for me. I need to work on my lower body definition. I think you should tape your classes, put them up on website and we can work out with you whenever we want.:D
