Jacque:: I did not record the weights I used for NMTZ but overall, for Jillian's work outs I really haven't gone above 10-12 pound DB's. Glad you liked it. Because it's a fast paced endurance work out it DOES make ya sweat and breathe a bit more then a regular weight work out would. I think of it as an extra added bonus! ;)

Today's work out will be a full body something....Kettlebells? Cathe? Jari?...Who knows...I'm leaving that monumentous decision for later. :p

ETA: BTW, I hope you don't mind but I've invited someone to join our little group. She's really nice. Her screen name is Brighton. I don't know if you all even realize but the "Cheetahs" pretty much disbanded due to busy lives. Her and I have been the only ones really posting for months now and it was sort of silly so I invited her here. She is super busy right now but said she'd more then likely start posting here in a couple of weeks! :) Does anyone mind??

I just had to say that before I could say " GOOD MORNING"! Don't be fooled...Im not that energetic! We have been up late playing board games and then DS wakes up around 7'ish! I soooo wanted to sleep in today! My mom came in the room to get him but he wouldn't go with her:mad:

Thanks for listening to me vent everyone. I just had to do it or I was gonna blow up. I think I am past the point of trying to make other people happy ....life is to short!

I posted on the Ask Cathe forum about a discomfort in my left quad yesterday. Its been there off and on for a while now but it usually lets up after I have been running for a few mins. Well, it didn't let up yesterday, if anything it got worse. I know Cathe isn't a Dr but I was wondering what her insight was..prehaps a few days of rest might help.

Alright...I think I am going to gather up my things and head home. DD wanted to make it back in time for soccer!

Good morning girls!

No workout for me to report this morning, and I don't think there will be one at all today. Thinkin' I need a rest day. I'll take my lunch time walk if the weather cooperates :rolleyes:

Lori: No idea what that discomfort could be, but take it easy on yourself! Maybe you just have a pull or a strain and it needs a little rest.

Wendy: The more the merrier! I look forward to "meeting" Brighton. Enjoy your workout, whatever you decide.

Okay, I really need to be productive today. The boss has been out on vacation all week and my pace has not been what it is normally. Today, I have to snap out of it!!

Morning girlie girls !

Ugh I'm feeling bloated and full this AM. Had my usual juice with flax, protein powder and a piece of toast but can eat no more. Will have cottage cheese w/nectarine mid AM if I feel hungry. Dang this being good isn't helping much at all. Scale up a 1/2 lb again!

Today will be freestyle lunges at lunch and a run after work. Looking forward to that as it is down to the low 80's and much more comfortable. :p

Wendy - Woo Hoo TFIAF ! I am so happy for the weekend yet again! Just not liking work much at all lately. I had notice you and Brighton posting by your lonely selves. Perfect you asked her to come here - that is why we have the group we do. Seems the old original "X'ers" are just a couple of us. The previous "merge" has worked well ! :D I kept my weights to 5 or 8 - that was making me waaaaayyyy tired - dang you def have much more endurance than I do. Enjoy whatever you decide to do today.

Lori - Great decision to live your own life ! It is just difficult when you have to put up with family that tries to say you aren't doing it the right way - especially parents. Just venting elsewhere and keeping the peace always worked for me ! I have to do that at work all the time ! :confused: Does it hurt to try to do a quad stretch? If so then probably just a strain - if it was me I'd ice it for a day or two and stretch gently throughout the day. Lightening up or total rest for a few days should help. You could concentrate on your weightwork for a while ! ;) Hope you have a safe drive back.

Jen - rest day sounds good, may do that tomorrow or Sat as my leggies are just getting totally fried - but love the areas where they are sore ! ;) OK - I won't help you with your work today ! :p Hope you get your walk in today !

Well, I finally peeled the wrapping off AOS Newport and gave it a shot. I did rounds 1-8. I was going to do the extra round but forgot how to do a turkish get up. :confused: I will have to practice a bit and then I can add in that extra round next time. :D I noticed after I turned off the dvd that there is also his famous bonus snatch test as well but I wasn't putting the dvd back in at that point. :p

Jacque:: I only heft 10# for big muscles like back, legs and maybe chest. For shoulders I definitely keep to 3 and 5#. For bi's it's 5 and 8 and for tri's it's usually 5 across the board.

Lori:: Hope Cathe answers your question!

Jen:: Enjoy your rest day. Glad you are listening to your body. :) LOL-when the cat is away the mice will play! You are not the first, nor the last to goof off when the boss man (or woman, in your case! ;)) is not around! :D

Gotta go to a meeting for work at 3:30 today. It includes 30 mins of the kickboxing class that they offer and then at 7:30 I am meeting my old running partner and we will walk the route we used to run together all the time (5k) so I should get my steps in today! Oh and by the way-day 4 of 10k+ steps was a success y'day so today should make 5 in a row if all goes as planned! WOO HOO! I'm on a roll baby! :cool:

Alrighty, gotta go for now....BBL or in the morning.
 
Hi ladies,

I did GS C&T this morning and hope to get to the rec ctr for some cardio. I was planning on blowing off my lunch workout but am not sure if I will be making it to bootcamp tonight or not.

Yesterday ended up being a rest day. I did mow the lawn and do laundry if that counts as exercise. I also fertilized the lawn so I did get in additional steps.:p

Jerod has a makeup game tonight. He usually has practice on Thursday's and I pick him up at 6:30, get home and change just in time to get to bootcamp by 7. Now he has a game that starts at 6:30. Not sure what to do here.

Wendy-I haven't used my shiny new kb's yet and your post is encouraging me too do a KB w/o soon. Maybe I'll start next week when I get back from vising my gd's. Enjoy your walk tonight. I too am looking forward to meeting Brighton.

Jacque-I pulled the BFFM book and started reviewing it too. I may even take it on the plane with me. It would be good re-read for me. NMTZ sounds like a goodie. I'm not biting though...too many other workouts still to do. Drink plenty of water today, hopefully that will help the bloating go away.

Jen-hope the weather cooperates for you lunchtime walk. It's so hot here I don't wan't to walk. The A/C guy finally came and fixed our problem. YEAH.

Lori-Hope you leg feels better soon. I plan on running tomorrow morning, before the heat of the day kicks in...of course no where near your distances! Hopefully your mom will come to appreciate the time you spend with her and not be judgemental. Have a great day.

Laura-I don't expect to "hear" from you...hope you are having a great vacation!

Running back through to say I ended up with quite a bout of "moodiness" mid way through the day so no lunch workout and not running outdoors tonight.

May change my mind later, but as of now I'm just not feeling it. The food is not good either. Not real high in cals but not the cleanest I've ever eaten either. Lots of carbs. Perhaps a carb loading day is just what I need? Sounds like a great story to me so I'll stick with it for today and today only ! :rolleyes:

Tomorrow will be another day ! Even took the ped off with only about 2,600 steps ! UGH !

Wendy - well you go girl with your KB's ! I liked all 3 AOS KB vids. Good workouts with a high cardio effect. Didn't get sore with any of them but only used 15# KB. Had a hard time getting it up in the air with my shoulder bones "crunching" together. Kinda had to modify a bit . . . but was a sweaty mess when I was done ! :p Hope your meeting w/workout and your walk went well. WOO HOO about 5 days in a row ! Great job there !

Diana - Nice job getting your workout in this AM with your evening schedule as it is. Were you able to get your cardio in? Hope Jerod's game went better tonight - teamwise since he did well for himself last time ! ;) Well I'm drinking lots today but it seems to be sticking with me. Perhaps another day of drowning myself with water and it will finally flush out? :confused:
