Good Morning Chicas. :D

Jacque:: So what did you think of the movie? I take it you don't have AC in your home or is it broken? ITA that P90X can be boring. I don't know how folks can do that rotation over and over again, back to back! I'd get bored of ANYTHING if I did it that much!!! When I did the X I mixed it up with different cardios (one was a lower body circuit to get in an extra leg work out too!) and hardly ever did yoga x though I DID try to do some type of shorter yoga practice every week. Maybe we can do an X rotation together at some point in the future? It did help that a few of us (from this thread) were doing the X together at the time.

So I banged and yanked my pinky toe yesterday afternoon somehow. That side of my foot has been sore ever since and might even be a bit swollen. Not exactly sure what I did to it but I hope it feels better soon! This being said, I am nixxing my run. I will do the next SS work out on the rotation which is Tone It Up I think plus I may try a bit of cardio at home. If it hurts I stop, if it doesn't, I go for it. I am not committing to a run though only to find out I can do it. That would suck.

Heading up to mom's at about 2 this afternoon. DH's Birthday was Thursday and she always has Birthday dinner for him. We will have hotdogs/hamburgers! YUM! I am buying him a set of golf clubs for his Birthday so he is going shopping with my mom's SO for them while we are up there today. DS and I will hang with my mom-probably outside so DS can play in the baby pool.

Guess that's all for now.

BBL!

Good Morning, ladies!

I never made it here yesterday because I was putting together a birthday dinner for my DS. He turns 14 tomorrow, so we got the family together at my mom's house for dinner and cake and gifts. I like to have these parties at my mom's because my house is just too small for everyone. That means I prepare the meal and then truck it all over there, though, so that's a bit of a hassle. But it also means I don't have to worry about getting my house clean, so there's a HUGE plus :p

Never got a workout in yesterday, mostly because I didn't have time, partly because I was still nursing that pain in my heel. I seems to be better today, though, and I'm hoping to get a run in today. However, if it starts to act up I may be switching to a FB weight workout. I'll play that one by ear.

Wendy: I have SS and you're making me want to pull them out. They are great workouts, I think I just remember getting a little bored with the uninspiring music or something. I wonder if I could manage to follow along while wearing my iPod? Hmmm.... So yeah, I don't know what I did to my heel, but I had this pain alond the bottom of it, right at my heel, that was killing me for a few days. Not sure if it was from running or from wearing high heels to work or what, but a few days off it has seemed to help. I'm wary of aggravating it again, but I def need to get moving so I'll give it a shot today. Woo Hoo on the quick recovery with the scale!! Gotta love that for sure! I'll start my recovery today, and I think it's going to take me a bit longer than it took you...especially after eating manicotti, chopped italian salad, and raspberry trifle last night ;) Oh, and let's not forget the drinks  Plus, the kids were gone for a week with their dad and my normal eating habits went out the window while they were gone  Silly, but I just didn't have a good reason to cook, so I didn't. But that means I ate a lot of crap I wouldn't normally eat. It's gonna take me at least a week to get back to normal I bet. Yes, I'm really getting excited about our August GTG too! Only a few more weeks, woo hoo!! I better start saving my coins, too. Send DH our birthday wishes today, and enjoy dinner at your mom's.

Jacque: So Transformers, huh? No Harry ;):p?? How did you like it? My son went to see it and loved it. I'm looking forward to seeing it myself, but will likely end up waiting until it's on dvd. In reply to your post on Friday, I will say that the GWF has really opened my eyes to how many calories are burned during certain activities. For instance, it takes me an hour of running at 6 mph to burn 500 calories. That seems about right to me. But the other day when I did a half hour of Jari's workout, and I was sweating my butt off and feeling very worked out, I only burned 130 calories. It seemed way more intense to me than say, my lunchtime walk. I thought sure I'd be good for about 250 to 300 with the way I was feeling, but no dice. Even my walk at lunch gets me a 250 calorie burn. So knowing that, I could adjust my cals accordingly or opt for an extra cardio or something. Anyway, what's my point...oh yeah, the GWF can definitely help you get a handle on what your actual burn is. Mine's definitely lower that what I was estimating.

Diana: Did you manage to get the lawn mowed AND the garage clean yesterday? That's a tall order :p I lol'd about so much to buy, too little money. Soooo true! Somehow it hasn't stopped me though :rolleyes: I need to learn some discipline from you.

Hello to everyone else! I have some major cleaning to do today, and I need to prepare some food to bring to a friend who just had surgery, plus get that workout in.... The day isn't long enough!

OK, I'll bbl (hopefully) to see if anyone is around~

Good Morning Ladies!!

I know...I know ;) I have been MIA all weekend but you guys know its not my fault:confused: DS is gone with DH right now so I have a little ME time but he as been gone for a little while already...so I am pretty sure they will bb any time now~

I have had a pretty good weekend. I took DS for a run on Fri morning, we did about 14-15 kms, swimming in the afternoon, then a b-party that night. We got to sleep in yesterday morning b/c my inlaws took DS for the night. We picked him up yesterday morning, did a few things, hung out with a friend, then I went for a 18 km run by myself...then we went out with friends last night for supper, and then back to their house for a dip in the hot tub!:D Today there isn't much on the go around here. Im doing some laundry, and have already done ME. I need to run out later and get a few things but there is nothing set in stone. Im not sure if I will run later or if I will take the day off. Yesterday was my last long run until next Sunday (race day) My friend says she wants to throw up everytime she thinks about it!

Wendy** So I take it you had a good vaca? Did you do much shopping or just R&R? Have fun at your moms. Im not sure whats on the menu here today. Im sure my MIL will be calling at some point in time re: dinner plans but they eat together more then I care to. Honsetly, my SIL and MIL eat together ATLEAST 4 times a week:eek: Im happy DH and I are on the same page and we just like to hang out here and eat by ourselves most of the time. Not only is it just us when my MIL calls but its also her next door neighbours and her mother. So everytime we eat together its like.....13 people!

Jen** Sounds like you have a busy day played! Hope you get to fit it all in. Seems like everyone as some sort of injury around here:eek: My legs is better but not totally....ah...we will all be 100% again in the future ( I suppose;))

Alright...I am STARVING...its time for lunch!!!

Lori:)

Hey Peeps.

Tone It Up is done. Got a great work out using 3 and 5# DB's and 5# AW's. :)

I nixxed the at home cardio idea. Didn't want to take a chance with my foot so soon. I was, however, considering using the EXT at the gym but at this point I highly doubt that will happen. I will probably just shoot for whatever cardio I can do tmrw instead. The SS rotation calls for Cool It Off tmrw anyway so it's the perfect time for it. :)

Lori:: Thanks for joining us today! :p I did some shopping, lots of pool and beach and lots of eating and drinking on vacation. This is why I came home 4 pounds up! Thankfully it's almost all gone already but I still wasn't happy about it. Sounds like your inlaws really like to entertain and that maybe your SIL doesn't like to cook so she is more then happy to accept all of your MIL's invites to come over for dinner. Do what works for you and your family. As long as you visit with them in some fashion often enough, that should be fine. DH took DS out to Target last night for about an hour. Sooo nice when the man has the child, isn't it? Unfortunately this doesn't seem to happen nearly enough!

Jen:: I hear ya on trying to entertain in a small place. When I have DH's family over for dinner they barely fit! Thankfully DS' Birthday is in May so we've been able to have his party outside. We had his first Birthday at my mom's since it was bigger and her house is bigger. She always tells me I can use her house if I need the space. We are always going to everyone else though so sometimes I prefer to deal with the limited space and entertain in my own home. :) I think your heel and my foot need to have a talk! :p :D I use the music off option on the SS series (I do the same with BBC-that tune drives me batty!). The SS music isn't the greatest either and I could probably handle it if not for the fact that Debbie Seibers is CONSTANTLY off beat. This drives me up a wall! There are times when moving to the music is not necessary but for these work outs, I can't stand the fact that she's never in sync. I've never turned on different music. I'm okay doing the work out as is with just the instructor's voice. I say pull 'em out and give 'em a shot! You'll have company! :)

Okay, time to hit the showers.

BBL or in the morning!:D

Hi girls !

Well it is just past noon for me and I just got back about 15 min ago from my run. Wasn't feeling like doing it so I dawdled a bit doing other stuff first but then just got my bootie out the door and went for it. About 85' so was a bit warm in the sun. Wore my HRM rather than the ped to keep an eye on my HR. Couldn't get it below 155 even when I was walking on level surface - it was the heat I'm pretty sure. So went 4.67 miles in 50 min - walked for 5 of them when I was nearly home since my HR was 165 - 170+ when running at all (even downhill). Not a bad time for me - especially with a few hills tossed in there. So I am :D I got a workout in and dropped 3 lbs of water ! HRM showed 713 cals with 15% fat - sounds good to me. May take care of part of our dinner out tonight ! :p

Wendy - how nice of your Mom to do a BDay dinner for DH - Tell him HB from me too ! Love the golf clubs present ! Does he get to play much? My XDH and oldest DS play lots. I was actually the one out on the course for a couple of summers with the boys - love the game. Was a double bogier but not too bad for the amount of time I played. I like being out in the "nature" of most courses and love the quiet. Do you have many courses nearby? Good job on the workout and letting your poor owie foot heal. LOL about the "X" - remember that is what we started this thread as over a year ago? Then I went to NROL4W and we all went in different directions from there. I could probably do some of the weight work (not many of the push ups though - don't think my shoulders would handle them). Yoga bothered them too. :( I think I am better at sticking to rotations now - was surprised at myself I made it all the way through STS, so "X" may be a possibility. We enjoyed Terminator - decided to see that one first before it leaves town (movies only last a month or two around here cuz we're pretty small). DH is a big cartoon fan (can you tell with the Hot Wheels, cartoons for hours on the weekends and evenings, etc that he is still a kid at heart? :p) There were only about 10 -12 people there ! It was great. HP will be much more crowded for a bit. We'll get there soon though. And no A/C here - our avg temp for summer is 85 - 90 so not too bad, it cools off at night. We usually have a few weeks of hot temps like now but other than that wouldn't use it much. I'm a native Californian and used to the heat for the past 30 years after I moved away from the beach.

Jen - HB to your DS ! Wow he's getting up there, huh? Good to hear the heel is feeling better - hope it cooperates for you with your workout. With your cal burn was your Jari workout weights vs walking (cardio?). I know my HRM shows hardly any cal burn at all for a weight workout even if I'm dripping - a circuit type does OK. That is one reason I've tried to at least walk everyday when I do weights. I'll probably cave here pretty soon. Does the display calculate a day at a time? (Like if I ended up getting that, put it on a spreadsheet and didn't upload into the software?) Or do you really need the upload to make it worthwhile? Some have said you can only track for 90 days and then the info drops off and there is no way to copy it or save it? Is that true? I hesitate to spend nearly $300 right now but could do the armband and get the display later if it will work well enough not to have the instant readout. I do come home at lunch and don't do my major workout until evening anyway. What do you think? I'm still unsure about wearing it all day at work with short sleeves too?

Lori - good to hear your weekend is going well ! Nice to have some good ol' fun, huh? And a little time to yourself too with DS and DH gone for a bit. Funny your running partner is getting ill feelings. How are you feeling? Getting ready to beat last year's time ! ;) Well hope if you go to MIL's it won't be a late dinner ! :p Perhaps show up fashionably late and you'll be just in time for dinner ! We ate out last night and will be tonight so no dinners for me since Fri ! That makes for a great weekend for me (other than I can't control what is in my food.) Oh well, can't have it all !

OK ladies I'm STARVED now - didn't want to eat much before I ran. Hope the day goes well for everyone !
