Damage Control...Sunday

Good Morning Peeps.

So everyone recovering from the 4th okay? As predicted, I didn't do much in the way of drinking y'day. I barely had 2 beers. :p There was a 5 week old baby girl at the party y'day. OMG too cute. I think DH was sweatin'...:D

Today's work out plan is an upper body work out and a run this morning and then perhaps a walk with the fam (or solo, whichever works) later on....
It's another gorgeous day so I think setting up DS' pool will also be an order after my work out! :D

Diana:: How nice to get breakfast in bed. Your DH and DS are gems! :)

BBL~

Good Morning, Wendy, and all who follow!

No hangover to report here :D Had my share of Mike's and MGD 64s yesterday, but not much damage from them. Must have spaced 'em out over enough time.

Yesterday I did another circuit with Push Pull and the treadmill, today I hope to get a nice long run in. Not sure when I might get the chance to do it. Ideally, it'd be nice to get out on the road for it, but I'll have to play that by ear. I am sportin' a sunburn I got while watching the parade yesterday, so that might mean I keep the run indoors today, we'll see.

Wendy: How was the wedding Friday night? Did they play on the whole patriotic theme at all?

Diana: Breakfast in bed is sounding pretty darn good right now! Lucky you for having boys treat you like a queen (as they should!)

Well, off for more coffee, I'll bbl to see who's around~

Jen

Hi Jen!!! I posted about the wedding in y'day's thread if ya wanna go back and check it out. :) Nope, no patriotic theme at all. Yeah for no 4th hangover!

I ended up doing NMTZ this morning. Heading to the gym for a run in a few minutes...

Mornin' Ladies,

At the last min DS did not want to go to the park to watch the fireworks. I was kinda pissed and was moping. They had a local band that was playing and DH said he would go with me. He usually stays home and watches the fireworks from our front porch. It was just the 2 of us and we had a great time.

Today I meet with the nutrition consultant and am looking forward to finding out what she has planned for me. I allso hope to get a run in this morning and also some weights since I blew of working out yesterday.

Jen-You have a nice circuit planned...Sunscreen, sunscreen my dear. I'm very fair and even make sure I put it on my before I head out running in the mornings.

Wendy-We are supposed to be in the mid 90's this week. I'd be in the pool with my kids if we still had one!

Have a great day ladies.

Morning ladies !

Getting around really s l o w l y today. Last two mornings I have been falling back to sleep after my usual waking time? Thinking the runs is making me a bit tired - though yesterday was a total "veg" day. Timing just didn't work out well. No CABs for me y'day as we were out of town and the CHPs tend to be frequent. I was the DD since DH loves his Coors Lights and he was BBQing. :p Not that I wanted any drinks anyway. I do fine without - not too many drinking heavily compared to usual. Kinda boring sitting around except that there were regular folks who brought their 'hot rods' down to the GTG and they had a 1/8 mile track set up. Was pretty fun watching everything from early 60's Novas, Chevelles, Olds to Harleys, old & new trucks, (diesel even) getting their kicks out of hitting the 1/8 mile track.

As mentioned no workout y'day so today will have to be tris & shoulders - perhaps an IMax as I think I need a change from running. Food y'day was good (only bad was a few pieces of butter/olive oil/garlic drenched bread) but after tracking I think I not only had a workout"less" day (about 4K steps) but also had a high cal day. At least it was 95% good foods and we'll see what the scale says tomorrow AM which is weigh in day.

Wendy - well good for you that you took it easy y'day after Fri nite ! :p I used to drink the Smirnoff's at the hockey games - they go down so fast, but they made me thirsty from all the sugar. That must be the cals. Never tried "Jen's" favs but they have those at the arena too. Perhaps one of these days. OD thread had a post about NMTZ. Kinda got me thinking I may incorporate a couple FB workouts and some Jillian next week. BFBM was mentioned, amazon here I come ! :D Hope you have a nice time relaxing while Joey plays in his pool !

Jen - way to spread the CABs out. Though I must say I hardly doubt anyone could get even a buzz off a MGD64! That's one reason I like them - love the taste of a cold beer but don't need the buzz. Kinda makes me think I need to get more 7up and a good bottle of red wine for some wine coolers with lots of ice. Another great summer quencher ! Hope the sunburn retreats for you today. As tan as I get, I added some sunscreen y'day as I started noticing the redness. Not worth the pain for me - I'm a wimp ! Like my warm showers and the spa and a burn hurts too much ! Hope you get your run in !

Diana - good to hear you enjoyed yourself last night even though DS "ditched" your plans. We didn't go to our local fireworks show at the high school (usually ride our bikes over - about 10 min), but were able to see 3 separate shows on the drive home. One in the town we were leaving, our local show and one 10 miles up north of us. Kinda fun and different way to experience fireworks ! Hope you get back to post your meeting with the nutritionist. Anxious to hear about the GWF recommendation (or not) and see what her proposal for you is. I'll do my weight workout if you do yours? ;)

OK - time to get something done around here. DS2 is supposed to stop by on his way outta town. Silly boy called me yesterday, asked where I was, told him I was 1/2 hour out of town - he says "well I'm at the house and came to see you". Guess he thinks I sit around and wait for him to show up unexpectedly? Later girls !

Hi Girls,

I got up an ran 4.5 miles outside this morning. Ran the same route I did on Friday, but in reverse. I'm slowly trying to get back into running outside and don't want to end up with shin splints or any other injury. This afternoon I will be doing GS C&T and coremax segment 3.

The meeting with the nutrition consultant was very informative. She has a total breakdown of what I was eating compared to what I should be eating, nutrition wise. My saturated fats were too high and my carbs were too low. She also talked about how important it is to eat at regular intervals. One of the things I do everyday she didn't recommend. I workout on an empty stomach which is fine, but then up to 2 hours can pass before I eat breakfast. She said to reap the benefit I need to eat within 30 min of my workout. I was provided with a daily meal guideline that should be pretty easy to follow since I provided her with a list of foods to begin with. By the way, I forgot to ask her about the GWF but will be sending her an email shortly.

According to her calculations my BMR is 1560, SDA is 156 (cals req'd for digestion)..these two total combined give me my REE (Resting Energy Expenditure) of 1716. Then they add ADL (activities of daily living) of 343 cals, and cals burned by exercise of 475. Total caloric Requirements of 2534 and she has it subtracting 887 cals for weightloss, leaving me with my recommended caloric intake of 1647. This sounds pretty reasonable to me. I'm going to peruse all the documentation she gave and try to plan out my meals for the week.

Jacque-Yep, I'm definitely planning on lifting weights today. It sounds like you had a fun time yesterday. After I got married I would visit my parents almost every weekend or so. I almost always called first though.

Good Afternoon Girls.

Got a 5 mile run in with Grace after NMTZ this morning. :) Hoping for a family walk after dinner but DS hasn't been so cooperative in that department lately so who knows if that'll happen.

I got a little over an hour in the sun with my ipod and my book while DS romped around in his pool after lunch and right now he is taking a nap.
Aaaahhhhh...life is good! ;)

Wow, we leave for vacation in a week! Hard to believe it's almost here! Better start thinking about what to bring! We are sharing a condo with my SIL and her family so I am going to bring down some food as well. My SIL is doing most of the food shopping but there are things I know she isn't going to buy that I like so I'll just pick them up myself.

Diana:: Glad you are pleased with your meeting with the nutrtitionist. Can't wait to hear if you see results following her plan! How nice of DH to take you to see the fireworks after DS pooped out on you.

Jacque:: Don't you know you are supposed to stay home and wait for your kids to pop in!? ;) Beer n bbq go hand in hand. I wasn't in a drinking mood y'day but still HAD to have a couple of beers for principle's sake! :p It wasn't my choice to take it easy y'day on the work out. I just couldn't get motivated in time to do anything more strenuous then the walk. I made up for it today for sure though! Haven't gotten on the scale since Thursday. If I eat well today (so far so good!) then I will brave it in the morning! LOL

Guess that's all for now. I need to starting thinking about what to make for dinner anyway....

BBL!

Got back about 15 minutes ago from our walk. We convinced DS to go in the stroller so we walked for about 25 minutes. It was nice but it's HOT. The sun is strong and there isn't nearly the breeze that there was this afternoon!

BBL to see if anyone is around!:)

Back for a few . . .

Did my UB weight work, DS never did come by so he either forgot my call last night or got up really late. Will check with him later. Got a few things straightened up around the house and the "joined" Wendy in lounging in the sun for a bit and re-read more of BFFM.

Will start working on a nutrition plan, not too intricate though, and see if I can start tweaking to make some changes. Hoping yesterday didn't throw me off too much with the eating and lack of exercise. Going to clean the floors and see if I have the energy/motivation to get some cardio in. Feeling rather (actually more like very very) lazy today again !

Diana - Your nutrition plan sounds very similar to what I am calculating with the BFFM info. I am a bit worried about upping my carbs as they seem to stick to me, but may try just a little and see if it helps raise the metabolism. I believe BFFM came with some meal plans since I'm not feeling that creative right now to try to get all my meals planned out macro wise. We'll see. Great job on the run - hope you got your weights in. We are opposite today, I did weights now need the cardio. I also don't tend to eat until mid AM since I'm not hungry. Am trying to break that habit lately.

Wendy - LOL at sitting around for DS. When he asked where I was and said he was at the house I laughed out loud. He thought I'd had a couple glasses of wine ! Nope, just him thinking I'd sit around (though I have to say we are home bodies to a great extent). Nice job on the workouts - hope the scale treats you well tomorrow. (I sure am crossing my fingers as I calculate today's eats and am trying to drink lots of water to undo what yesterday may have caused !;)).

Laura & Lori - hope the weekend was good to both of you. Jen - how'd the day pan out for you?

Just finished 4 bowling games on the Wii with DH. Does that count as exercise? ;)

Jacque:: Best of luck with the new nutrition plan. Why does it have to be so darned difficult!?! If someone could just PLEASE drop GWF's from the sky (for FREE!) for you and I then our problems would be solved! :D If I got it w/o having to pay for it, I would use it! I considered asking for it for Christmas this year but that's too long of a wait! Still debating on the FitBit. Can't do ANYTHING till DH gets back to work though. Phhhhbbbbbt! :p

Good night girls!
