** DAMAGE CONTROL....SUNDAY **

Good Morning!!!!:)

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days:eek: I was busy on Fri staining the deck and we also had a girls night out planned. I didn't get home until 4 in the morning:eek: yesterday morning. We went to a pizza place after the club and ate and laughed. I worked half a day yesterday but never checked in.

I managed to get disc 9 in last night:) I have been skipping the leg workouts...not on purpose;) but with all of the running I do, I don't think skipping a leg workout will make my legs any worse:rolleyes: I really like STS legs b/c the weights are light but yet, a good workout. I bet they are good workouts for slimming the legs.

I am up early to get a run in and get it out of the way for the day. Then off to work I go. This weekend was pretty easy b/c I really only worked a day and a half:)

Alright...off I go! I will bbl to check in with personals and report my workout. I work contray dude today....kill me now!!!!

Lori:)

Good Morning Lori and all who follow.

Diana: Glad you made it out to Oregon safely! Ofcourse your son laughed when you asked to borrow his PC to get on Cathe. If you aren't a Catheite you just wouldn't understand. :)

Jen: You are right about the job but I think I'd wait a month or two. Let the DB's get "old" before I pop for the GWF! LOL I really am going to go to Sports Authority today and buy myself a cheap pedometer. I think I could have fun with that for a while in the meantime and who knows...it just might help! :) I'm not a gin drinker either so no worries there. I'm not opposed to it but I don't think I really drink anything with that in it unless it's one of those original drinks places will have where you have one while you are there to try and then never again. When I was in Vegas me and another girl did a little experimenting with martinis. It was fun! :D Sounds like you had fun shopping y'day too! I picked up an adorable pair of white athletic style mary janes in the Nike store as well as a cute wallet for spring/summer. After I left I realized I should have also picked up the wristlet they had in the same design since they were having a sale so the wallet was only HALF of the marked price! It's kinda far to go back today for only ONE thing though.

Lori: Wow, 4 in the morning? Haven't done that in a while though I am quite familiar with those nights from my past of partying! ;) I still like to work legs no matter how much I run as I am paranoid but not everyone deems it neccessary. You are slender. I am sure your legs look fine no matter how you train them. I could use a little leg slenderizing but I've realized it's in my genes. I'll never have the legs I want.

Not sure what's on tap for today since DH isn't working except for ..... *drumroll please*....MY WORK OUT! :D:D:D

I'd like to put Joey back in the pool at some point today so that I can hang out and read my book again but last night he said he'd rather just play in the yard. That doesn't bode well as that means I have to play WITH him. When he is in the pool he is all about entertaining himself so we'll see....

Guess that's all for now. I'll be back to let ya know how my work out went once I decide what the heck I'm gonna do! Waaaay too many choices! :p

I've decided to go with Jillian's 30 Day Shred for today. It's divided into 3 shorter work outs that you can do separately or put together. They get progressively more difficult. I will start from the beginning and see how far I get. It's weights and cardio circuit style. Looks like fun! :D

Good morning girls!

Lori: You party girl! I'm impressed ;) Sounds like you deserved a fun night out after staining the deck all day.

Wendy: I have those Nike Mary Janes!! I love them. Super comfortable and very cute! They look great with capris. I think the pedometer is a great idea. While the workouts do provide a good calorie burn, I am now convinced that the daily movement is critical as well, and the step count definitely motivates you to get it in. I wish I had this thing when I was a SAHM, because I never sat down (as I'm sure you understand)! The only meal I ever sat for was dinner.

Well, so far today I'm very inactive :p Feeling kind of lazy...but the lawn needs to be mowed and I'll likely take a walk with the kids later. No organized workout for me though. The abs need a rest.

Will bbl~

Jen

Jen: Actually, I sit on my azz way too much as a SAHM- especially now that DS is in school! Not that getting an office position will help the sitting on my azz part  but it's part of the reason I want to go back to work. I AM BORED!!! My house is tiny and I am far from a clean freak so often times I'm just hangin' out in front of the PC wasting time when others might be cleaning windows or scrubbing floors or something.... Not to say my house is dirty but I am just not one who has to have a spotless house at all times....

So we went to 5 Guys Burgers for dinner last night. I am not a McDonalds/BK/Wendy's person. I tend to avoid it like the plague except for the occasional salad b/c I know how bad it is for those of us who are watching our figures but 5 Guys is AWESOME! Everything is fresh. Nothing is frozen. Slightly healthier then the standard fast food burger/fries because their stuff isn't packed with preservatives and they use healthier oils, etc. VERY GOOD! Worth the occassional cheat meal IMO. So that being said I made the mistake of looking up the nutrtional info so that I could enter it into Sparkpeople.:eek::eek: The numbers are sickening on their own but when I entered it into my food log it ended up not being TOO TOO crazy. I ate well all day prior to dinner so that helped. I went over my maintenence calories by only 155 so I thought that was pretty awesome and that includes a half glass of wine when I got home last night too! :) I went over my carbs by 44 grams which is not unusual for me as I am a carb fiend! LOL I blew fat intake out of the water though. I went over my maintenence number by 20 grams and alot of it was saturated! Ofcourse I came up short on protein. Go figure! My sodium was within range though so I was happy about that.

I did NOT get on the scale this morning though. I KNOW I would not have liked it so I simply avoided the issue. I will get on tmrw after eating well today. :)

Soooo...All of this being said, does anyone want to see the eye-opening nutrtional stats of my dinner last night? I will post 'em if you are curious! :D

Oh yeah, Wendy, do tell!

After reading your post, I decided to look up my dinner at the Melting Pot. Ugh, bad....very bad. The Daily Plate lists the dinner for two, which is what we had, at 1400 calories. That includes all courses. Plus I had two glasses of wine. AND I didn't burn as many calories yesterday as the prior days either. I only got to 2200. Oh well, today will have to be a cleaner day!

Jen,

I meant to tell you that I have heard great things about the Melting Pot but that it's also quite pricey. I am dying to go there! Do they have on in CT nearby to the casinos perhaps? ;):D

Okay...here goes nothing!!!!

Hey Girlies!

I ended up running outside after I checked in! I looked out the window and it was wet and windy but I did it anyway. It looked worse then it was and I was surprised that I had so much energy in the morning. I haven't went for an outside run...that early..in a long time! I guess I am use to pushing a stroller so going with out one, anytime of the day...seems easier! lol

I just finished my lunch so now I am wondering how many cals I had. I had a grilled ck burger with a side salad. I was sooo hungry after that run and I think I final conquered my hunger!

Wendy** Ugh....I was whining to DH last night about how the summer seems to take over my life with drinking!:confused: I don't drink much as it is but now that the sun is shining, people want to BBQ, then there are b-days....blah...blah. Now I have been invited to a girls night out in the city in 3 weeks time. I am hoping not to have anymore drinks until then!!!!

Jen** You don't know how bad I needed that girls night out!:D I was staining the deck, all while trying to keep an eye on DS. It was sooo mentally draining! Then when I looked he had my jeep keys, I totally forgot about them so I went on the search around 6'ish....in the grass...for my keys:mad: I tried opening the doors to the jeep (roof was off) and I guess there is some kind of alarm system for when the roof is off. When I unlocked the doors, the thing started going CRAZY! It stopped after 5 mins (couldn't find the other set of keys) then when I shut the jeep doors, it started going crazy again! DH finally found the keys but I was sooo ready to kick his butt if he said "why would you let him have the car keys" I knew it was stupid. I just forgot about it:confused: Oh...and DS also threw my Blackberry in the dogs bowl! Its working fine now though!

Anyway...I will bbl!

Lori:)

Hiya Sunday chatters ! :p

It's just after 8 AM here and already 8 posts? LOL !

Ended up doing only chores yesterday - becoming wayyyy too much of a habit - I need to do my workout first or I never get to it. Guess I better do the Bi/tri/sh today and leave the run for another day unless I get home early enough today. Had planned on running last night but dinner wasn't until 9:30.
DH got carried away and took nearly 6 hrs to change the spa water. Usually it is my job though so it's all good here !

Jen - Thanks for the heads up on Mom/daughter relationships. My Mom and I weren't real close due to an older brother who needed lots of attention due to mental and physical issues. Then when we started getting close when I was in college, she passed away when I was 25. I am looking forward to visiting with DD today - assuming she doesn't cancel on me. She just really loves hanging with her friends - no biggie - she does tell me how well we get along so I need to give her space. I agree about using the GWF for "rechecks" here and there. I am so cyclical with my good/bad times both with food and workouts. Found my pedometer yesterday - though it worked kinda funny last time I used it (added many steps just when I would sit on the toilet ?) But it might be fun to just check and see what it says before I break down and purchase the GWF. UGH ! got a look at my lumpy legs yesterday and really need to rein myself in here ! May be a quicker purchase than I can afford ! :D

We have a fondue restaurant a half hour from here - it may just be "Melting Pot" but I don't remember. Our neighbors went and said it didn't take long to fork over $100 but that they could have condensed a bit and split more of the food. I have always wanted to try it as I love fondue ! YUM !

Wendy - Well sounds like last night turned out fun anyway. Ya know ya did well if your fries had 5 gms of protein ! That is like eating a string cheese, just more saturated fat, right? ;) I always try to remember "moderation" and "once in a while" so you gotta live here and there girl ! You do very well tightening it up afterwards so no worries there. You know you'll be fine. WOW ! Didn't know the bowflex DB's were that expensive ! How high do they go? I must have seen some that didn't go very heavy cuz I haven't seen them that expensive before. Can't wait to see what you think. Good job on turning the gift card around on yourself ! I think I may have to remember that one ! :p Hope Joey changes his mind and decides to swim so you can "hang" again like yesterday. If I don't make it back - good luck with your interview - Isn't it tomorrow?

Lori - well you little worker bee/partier you ! What a great way to have the best of both worlds ! Good job on getting yourself out the door for your run today ! Not bad at all for your lunch. It should tide you over for a bit with those macros. Hope work goes better than you think it might - perhaps contrary man will just keep quiet today !

Off to get something accomplished - <<< starts thinking . . . more steps, more steps, more steps :D >>> Actually, will be shopping with DD at some point, maybe I'll make her walk lots ! :p

I just finished work outs 1 & 2 from 30 Day Shred and I am humbled! What a work out! There was no way I was getting thru the third work out too! I pushed a bit on my weight load choices, adding the weighted vest for most exercises that involved lower body and going as heavy as I could for upper. I had to drop down in weight or skip reps at times because my upper body was FRIED! I will do work outs 2 & 3 next time I think. Should be fun! :p

Well, the sun is finally shining and it's warm outside so the pool is filling up as I type this! After I feed DS lunch we are going outside for a bit of play time! :D

That being said, let me get moving here...I'll be back afterwards (while DS is napping!!!) to catch up with personals!

Toodles! :)

Lawn is mowed, woo hoo! I'm not sure the GWF measured all my steps accurately though, maybe because of all the vibration from the mower? Nonethless, it registered calories so that's okay.

Yes, The Melting Pot was uber-expensive. And for first timers, ultra confusing. We went in without a clue as to how or what to order, and they put on the first page the dinner for two menu, which they title "The Big Night Out". It's all organized so that you choose from one of two cheese fondues for the appetizer, a salad for each person, an entree large enough for two with a variety of meats on it, and then a chocolate fondue for dessert. We were told it was by far the best deal, especially if we were hungry and that we couldn't go wrong. You get all that for $92.00  And we had the kids with us, so we had to order two :eek: Kinda crazy. Delish, but way to pricey for the family. I think it's a fun place to go with another couple where you can split the bill, or by yourselves on a special occasion.

That said, Jacque, your friend is correct that more food could have been split and condensed. If we ever go again, we'll be a bit savvier and order more conservatively. I know for a fact that if it was just me and DSO, we would have ordered an appetizer and and entree, and probably skipped the salad and dessert.

Gotta get these kids out of here for a few minutes into the good weather before they drive me nuts, but will BBS ~

Jen

Poppin' back in to report STS is finished. I went heavier and just can't believe my strength gains from this program ! I will definitely be doing this again. That said, next week is showing that we go back to last week's weights and reps. I am deciding now that I need to do something different - much more cardio and perphaps a little less time spent working out so I won't have the dread factor of standing around for a couple of minutes waiting for the next exercise to begin.

I pulled out my KB DVD's from Xmas, purchased The Terminator with my 20% discount, and am now armed with the Look Great in 8 workout rundown. Tonight or tomorrow I will sit down and figure out just what approach I will be taking. Want only to follow the DVD and not worry about the "book approach" or writing things down.

Wendy - I enjoyed 30 min shred. I can't remember if I did 1 & 2 or 2 & 3 and upped the weights, but no vest for me that time. I keep forgetting to add that on one of these days. Need to remember it now for the new rotation whatever it will be. Enjoy your time in the sun !

Jen - All this food talk has me hungry now, especially since I'm done with my workout ! :D I am definitely thinking that DH and I should take a trek up to San Jose and check out that fondue restaurant one of these weekends. Good job with the lawn mowing - get in lots of steps while you are outside with the kids.

Off to eat, shower and head to my visit with DD. Later . . .
