Good Morning!

I am up to get my workout in before work...as usual. It seems as if I have done that alot this week. I can't put it off until the evening cause I don't know what might happen with work and to tell you the truth....I hate doing my hair:confused: so once a day at this mop...is enough for me!

I pretty much caught up on personals last night. I was hoping to go to bed after I wrote my post but I ended up over at my SIL's house for a handful of chips and a drink. I didn't get to bed until 11:30 and I am kinda feeling it today. I don't mind though b/c its sat and my boss isn't around. I can have a little snooze in the chair if i wish!

Jacque** So weight and measurments...I should have known we would have to take them. I doubt i will see much change in either. I think for some reason I am smaller then I think I am. I probably think I could stand to lose a inch or two but in actual fact, i would be border line going from fit to skinny. Skinny doesn't look good on anyone.

Im tell'in ya...I think I did a number on my knees on that long run. They don't hurt as such, but I know that I did a long run:eek: if that makes any sense! Im going to do disc 32 and then a run on the TM. If they give me grief i will have to get off and give them a break. Years ago I use to run in the spring/summer/fall and do step in the winter. My ankles would hurt from step and my knees would hurt from running. I haven't stopped running in a few yrs now but magically I haven't had issues with my knees either.

O.k....i will shut up now...I think i am trying to put off my workout!!

Mornin'!!

I am finished with breakfast (ww bread w/natural p/b) and am going to get ready to do a work out. Not sure if I want to get PCC over with or do Tone It Up first. Whatever I don't do now needs to get done this afternoon. Things that make ya go hmmmm....:p

My only plan for today besides my work outs is cleaning the house and maybe doing some laundry. Thrilling, isn't it? :rolleyes:

Gooooooooood Morning girlies!!

I'm up at a not too late hour this morning and feeling GREAT because DSO wasn't here last night so I had the whole bed to myself! Love that. It means a great night's sleep. Not complaining here, just stating facts, but he's a "snuggler" so when he stays over I'm awake half the night trying to get comfortable and not die from sweat because he's also a FURNACE. So I'm well rested this a.m. .

Took measurements this morning and weight, and will be tracking body fat by the scale. I have calipers but they frustrate me. I'lll just be looking for a downward trend over the next two months. Don't really care about the actual number, per se, just want to see it lower.

Tomorrow I'll do the fit test and OFFICIALLY start my rotation on Monday. Who's with me? Diana and Jacque? Anyone else?

Lori: I damn near spit my coffee onto my computer screen when I read your reaction to your co-worker's lunch! Too funny. Glad to hear you're going to finish with your STS rotation. I think you'll be proud of yourself for doing so. Not to sound like a complete dolt :eek:, but does Canada have Labor Day? What holiday is it for you on Monday?

Wendy: Oh Wendy, I hate to say it but your story had me cracking up, too. Mostly because I can picture the whole thing...I've been there done that more times than I care to remember. I KNOW the exact frustration you suffered yesterday morning. Unfortunately, I still have those mornings often; fortunately, they no longer involve something like gum in hair though :p So how'd you end up getting it out?

Jacque: Wooo hooo on finally getting your package! So what say you? Have you had a chance to preview? These workouts are funny...they are KILLER while you're doing them, but when they're over you feel great, not wiped out for an entire day (though month 2 workouts might be another story :eek:). I think you're going to handle them just fine.

Laura: I thought Plyo Cardio Circuit was a lot harder than Cardio Power and Resistance. PCC whooped my arse too. Haven't seen Pure Cardio though, and right now ignorance is bliss ;) Glad to hear your big pup is doing well after his surgery!

Diana: Yay for the 2 lbs. gone!! Woo hoo! Hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth (is what mama always says ;)). Don't ask how or why, just take it! How was Pure Cardio Yesterday?

So we've been invited to a cookout this afternoon. I'm "eh" about it. Part of me would rather just stay home and chill a bit, but I suppose it won't hurt to stop by. I AM NOT having any CABS...haven't had a one since last Saturday, I'm on a roll and I'm not starting now.

Hi Girls!

Workout done for the day! I soooo did not want to get on that TM..not sure what was up with that? Anyway, of course I made myself;) I did disc 33 (thought it was 32) and CC#7, did 6.5 miles in 60 mins. My knees weren't bothering me at all. I think they were kinda aching when I got up...just something that happens when you wake up or have been sitting for a long time. I also did ME abs.

Wendy** I need to do what your plans are. As i was going through the door I told DH that I will probably be doing housework tonight. All I could see on the floor was dog fur. Then DS waste apple juice and orange juice on the floor yesterday, so Im sure there are sticky parts there somewhere. AND my washer is still broke:confused: Hoping to get someone to come look at it today b/c you know how that pile of laundry gets~!!! Hwv fun with your workouts.

Jen** Its nice to have to bed to yourself sometimes!:) I think we all feel the same way but we don't say it b/c we all know how sensitive men are!:rolleyes::D DH usually turns one way and I turn the other. I have been known to be a bit of a furnace myself:eek: I don't think us hot people can help it! LOL
Im not going to be doing the rotation yet for a month or so. I can't wait to get them though, I will definitly be playing with them for a while. And yes....we have the same holiday as you guys. We aren't doing much b/c I am working but we are thinking about going to a friends cabin on Sun evening if I can get my coworker to cover for me.

Good morning ladies !

Well I'm up usual time at just after 5 and will be playing with my Insanity at some point or another. I have had a couple days off in a row and it's time to do something again before all the "fun" starts . . . :rolleyes:

Lori - Wow you have such motivation in the mornings. You did an entire STS disc and then ran for an hour? I definitely think the measuring and weighing won't be necessary for you. Heck I'd probably be a stick if I worked out for 2 hours a day ! I'm only tracking because I am hoping to reduce the lower half a little - the UB has shed it's fluff for the most part. I am naturally thin on top and carry the extra on the caboose and thighs. Even the couple #s that I'm down lately has me in pants I couldn't get into at the beginning of the spring. Would love to get back into a couple of my jeans from 2 yrs ago though ! ;) Hope your workday goes well for you and you can get your co-worker to cover for you so you can play tomorrow nite.

Wendy - sounds like you have one of the tougher Insanity's today - no wonder you haven't decided yet. I'll be hitting the housework and also bought some paint this week too. Still "freshening" up the house here and there and now with a couple of rooms with new doors - those are the ones that needed paint anyway ! And there's always the yardwork - doggone weeds feel the need to grow and grow and grow ya know? That's fine with the veggies and flowers but those weeds just have no reason to rear their ugly heads and take away from my time ! :mad:

Jen - All I checked out last night was the fit test - too much food made me a slug last night so I caught up on my magazines instead. I did review the nutrition plan - pretty close to my regular eating habits except with my oatmeal pancakes I am not hungry for a snack midAM and by the time I'm done with breakfast I've had 500 cals anyway. Will just stick to my usual and it will be like following their plan for the most part. As soon as I am done here I'm gonna check out premixes for UB and see what is out there. Trying to decide on 2X per week for about 45 min or 3X per week for about 30 min. Sounds like the Insanity will be fine to keep my legs toned - if not I may throw in a leg workout here and there.

So Diana and Jen: If we start on Monday the program calls for the Fit Test. What say you on that account. Fit Test is every two weeks - are you planning on doing those or skipping and moving forward, looking to add something different there or ? ? ? They look pretty grueling anyway. The peeps doing them were doggedly tired and sweaty. Looked like a killer workout anyway.

I'll post what I'm planning on doing which will pretty much following the plan but adding a bit in there. Diana I know you have additional with your rec classes and Jen you'll be running - how many runs you gonna do during this? Maybe 2X UB and one run per week?

Okie dokie - off to get started now that, ahem, Jen you reminded me to get some java going and I'm getting revved up . . . :eek: Gotta get something done before I head out to take the puppy dog to the vet. OOhhh she smells so nice after her bath last night ! :p

Jacque: I'm thinking I'll do the Fit Test tomorrow and plan on a run on Monday (maybe). That'll put me right on track for Plyo Cardio Circuit on Tuesday. My goals are identical to yours, I want to lose a few inches in the lower half. My upper body is pretty lean right now and so I didn't even bother taking those measurements. But I need the hips and thighs to shrink a bit, so I've got my starting numbers for those. I'm going to try and not worry about the scale and just focus on measurements, but I'm admittedly a scale addict so we'll see how that goes. As far as adding things to the rotation, I'm going to do the first week as prescribed and then make the judgment after that, because after doing the first two workouts this week, I have some nice DOMS in the upper body. Maybe I won't need it. I'll tell you one thing though, I considered a run this morning and just had no desire to do it. Scrapped that idea pretty quickly. So in other words, I'm not even sure about the running. I might just be doing the Insanity rotation as written with no add ons. As long as I follow the nutrtion plan as prescribed, I don't think that should have any negative consequences. I reserve the right to change my mind though :p

Good Morning Girls,

It's just after 8 and I'm the last to post.... I don't know what w/o on tap for today. It's the first one again and it was hard the first time. Pure cardio was pretty tough yesterday and I had to take a few 10-20 second breaks in the last half of the w/o. At least I'm improving with the killer warmups!

Jerod has a football game today at 11. They are facing their toughest opponent today. If Jerod's team makes it to the superbowl, this is likely the team we would be facing. They've had pretty intense practices this week. I think his coach will blow a vein if there are any mistakes in this game.

The rest of the weekend will be spent ***Finally*** moving Jerod's room over to the larger room. We can really move the desk and computer up their yet since we still need to have comcast come put an internet connection up there.

Lori-Nice job getting your w/o done this morning. I probably won't do mine until later this afternoon, after Jerod's game. Looks like everyone has housework to do this weekend. Necessary evil I guess.

Wendy-The nutrition plan started off with a bang but I've been stuck at a plateau for several weeks and felt the need to shake things up a bit. I actually think the Insanity nutrition will work well with WW. It's similar to what I eat already. As long as I stay within my points range I should be fine. Enjoy your looong workout today.

Jen-yes, a good night's sleep works wonders. I haven't done the fit test. I was actually thinking of doing it tomorrow along with weighing and measuring to. Not sure if I really want to do it every two weeks or not though. I do need some upper body work and hope to that today either before or after my insanity w/o. I'm up for starting the rotation this week. At least I will have done the first months w/o once already. I really think that is helping me.

Jacque-Hope Zellie does good at the vet today. I'm game for starting Insanity this week. I am going to do the fit test tomorrow since I haven't done it yet. I may end up doing UB weights on that day going forward. I should probably write up a rotation too...or I can just use yours.:D There's only 2 weeks left of bootcamp and then I'll just be spinning once a week.

Lori-I'm sure you must have a pool party or something fun planned for this holiday weekend. You'll have to let us know....

Good Morning Girls!

For those of us on the east coast of the USA I am just eeking it out with that greeting as it's 11:56 am right now. :p

Well I decided to hit Tone It Up this morning. I don't know why but I just can't bring myself to do super intense cardio before lunch! :rolleyes: After I did my work out, I changed my clothes and hit the house work. My vacuum cleaner hasn't been working properly for I can't tell you how long. The last time this happened, because we don't spend bocu bucks on them, when we couldn't figure out what the problem was I convinced DH that we should just buy a new one. Well that was only a couple years ago and I didn't think he'd go for that again so quickly. Thankfully I've been pokin' around in it and FINALLY figured out what the problem was. It was loaded up (and I mean LOADED!!!) with dog hair in a spot that I had previously not realized and then couldn't figure out how to get to in order to clean it out. Well this morning I finally figured it out and eureka!!! (it's actually a bissell though :p) It worked!!!! :) That being said, I've been a vacuuming fool this morning! I swear I vacuumed every carpet in the house THREE TIMES!!!! :D

I just finished washing dishes and cleaning the counter tops and kitchen table. I want to wash the kitchen floor and clean the bathroom as well. I am in a strangely productive house cleaning mood today! :p I think I am just so darned excited to have a WORKING vacuum again! :D

I ate lunch early (about 11 am) so I'm thinkin' it'll soon be a good time to bang out Plyometric Cardio Circuit and then take a nap! :D

Jacque:: Spinach and strawberry salad?? WOW, that sounds awesome! What else is in it? The chili sounds good too ofcourse! ;) Any time you wanna come over and pull weeds in my yard, just let me know! I hate doing that so I really just DON'T! DH uses the weed wacker and weed killer when he mows the lawn. That's about it. My mom loves to sit n pull weeds in her yard when it's nice out. I don't get it.

Lori:: So why are all you moms laughing at my kid issues? Perhaps cause you've been there, huh? :p Good to know! My child can make me sooooo angry at times and I sometimes I wonder if it's just MY kid or is it ME over reacting? Hopefully not! :confused: I hear ya on the angel thing! Joey can do that at times too and everyone thinks he's so innocent and sweet and well-behaved. NOT!!!!! As soon as they leave the devil child comes out to play! :eek: :mad: :confused:

Jen:: Does your SO know how you REALLY feel about him? LOL :p I hear ya on the cuddling and especially on the inferno thing. I love to cuddle but only for a bit. I can fall asleep like that initially but only for a few minutes and then I need my own space. My DH is a heat box too and if he spoons me I end of dying of heat. The only way we can cuddle where I won't sweat to death is if he lays on his back and I put my head on his chest. I am used to not having the bed to myself. I can appreciate having a big bed to myself (like in Foxwoods) but at home, if DH is out late or home but comes to bed later then me, I don't sleep well until I know he's in bed with me. I keep waking up until I see a lump next to me. :p Sometimes if I am out of it and don't realize what time it is or where he is, I will almost panic thinking something has happened to him if I wake up and he isn't there. :eek:

Diana:: I've learned to pace myself a bit more in the Insanity warm ups. I will usually take it slow(er) for the first 2 rounds and then hit it hard for the final round. If I push too hard too fast then I am worn out and not as effective for the work out. Even for the work out, I'd rather slow it down so that I take as few extra breaks as possible. School sports coaches can be brutal. I was never athletic in school and thank goodness. I think I would cry if I played a team sport and the coach freaked out on us/me for losing or whatever. What REALLY kills me is when I see the coaches/parents get mad at the little ones! That really burns me up! You have 4-5 year olds playing soccer (it's supposed to be FUN!) and the coach and/or mom n dad are getting mad at the kids for not playing well. HELLO-what is wrong with these people!?! I just don't get it!!!! :mad::confused::mad:

Okay, this post is getting waaaaay outta hand. I think I'm just stalling on getting to my work out! ;)

Hi ladies,

Finally back from Jerod's game. It was a tough game and they lost, but Jerod had a great game and even caught an interception! This is supposed to be a recreational league, but there is nothing recreational about it. Although "I"seem to think the coach is very strict, the kids seem to respond good to him.

I'm going computer shopping now and DS2's cell phone isn't working so we may get him a new phone. Not sure when the workout will happen but will make every effort to get it done today. I did walk to Jerods game, its about 1 and 1/2 miles to the football complex...and I'm at 6500 steps so far.

Wendy-the vacuum cleaner story is too funny. Honestly, I've had the same thing happen to me. DH will say "did you clean all the filters", of course...I'm not an idiot. One time he walks over and pulls out this filter I didn't even know about...obvioulsy that's what was clogged and it's worked great now that I know to clean that one too. What makes it worse is DH doesn't even use the vacuum...how does he know where all the filters are hidden??? Nice job getting your double workouts in again today!

Hey y'all !

Well nice to see everyone making some progress (except for me as I delay my first Insanity workout ! :p :rolleyes: :eek:). Puppy dropped off, shopped a bit, hit bookoo traffic on the way home and now DD just called about Zellie to say it seemed to have been an abcess as they were able to lance and "stuff" just oozed out (sorry if TMI). Hopefully it will stay away !

So played a bit and below is what I have come up with for 2 UB workouts added to the original Insanity calendar. Mind you I am not sure how hard all these workouts are so I added one on Thurs (my night not to make dinner) and whatever was the shortest workouts. May have to switch them up depending on how things go. Since there are no weights needed I could actually do these workouts in the AMs if I get up by 5 - then I could move to the family room and not bother DH's sleep. That is my plan so we'll see how I do ! That way I could do the weights after work. Yep, sounds productive to me. Fit Test will be tomorrow along with weigh in and, like Jen, LB measurements.

Diana - thanks for the Zellie well wishes - sounds like they worked. Well bummer Jerod's team lost but Woo Hoo ! ! ! that he had an interception. Can't hardly beat that now, can you ! LOL at 'stuff' getting in the way of your workout - I don't feel so bad except that I have been lagging for a couple days now ! :eek: :rolleyes: Well if I can get to it perhaps I'll get a couple of Insanity workouts done pre-Tues start date for our official rotation kickoff. I'm flying blind here but after reading what you ladies have posted it sounds tiring & challenging but rewarding. Nice job walking to the game and back - gots lots of steps in so far ! I have slumped with the GWF but need to get back to it - especially to see the benefits of Insanity !

Wendy - well you have been a busy little beaver today now haven't you? :p LOL at pulling weeds but I swear your Mom could be the sister I never had ! ;) I love getting outdoors and if it means pulling weeds so be it as long as I don't have other stuff to take care of, or well . . . I'd pull weeds over cleaning the bathroom anyday ! ! ! I'm not sure exactly what the salad had in it (I was chatting away with my co-workers while downing my food :rolleyes:) but seems that it was just the baby spinach, strawberries (they're so perfect right now out here in CA - course they use our boxes to package them in - ha !) and walnuts with a viniagrette dressing. Myself, if there wasn't any in there, I'd add some sort of cheese like feta, bleu (if I was feeling a bit bold) or even mozzarella for a more mild flavor. Another of my fav summer salads (which doesn't have to be summer) is spinach, mandarin oranges and sliced almonds with some viniagrette - YUM ! They are both quickies and give you some good nutrients to boot ! You can add chicken to either and have a great lunch or dinner meal for cheap and quick.

Jen - LOL at everyone chiming in about our DH/SO's with the "built in heaters". You ladies think it's bad now, just wait til you're cuddling and all of a sudden a hot flash hits ! :eek: :eek: :eek: That's when I'd jump outta bed, start fanning and running around panting like a dog who just ran a few miles in 100' weather. Course DH would look at me all bent outta shape and I think after years he finally realizes as he sees the sweat dripping that I'm not kidding him that it wasn't him ! :p If I were smart I'd probably just do the Insanity rotation as is (and who knows after all this planning I just may wus out and can the UB weightwork) but after reading the OD seems most of the regulars are adding some UB weekly. I do enjoy having a little bicep to go with my skinny arms ! ;) LOL but my calves and my biceps are the same size until my calves inflate 2" from bloat during the day if I don't drink enough water.

Almost time to hit the road to get the puppy and visit a bit with DD. Went Costco shopping for all the ingredients for her favorite pasta salad, the antipasto one I made yesterday for the potluck. Took her some for lunch this AM but will take her the ingredients for about 6 large bowl fulls since she told me last week she and one of her roomies cook dinner together quite a bit.

Should be back either later tonight or tomorrow to report my progress on an Insanity workout - hold me to it ladies ! ! ! :rolleyes:

Hey Girls.

I was just checking my Insanity calendar and it looks like if I take month 1 out an extra 2 weeks then I will be on track to do the recovery week and start month 2 with you gals. :D If doing SS with month 1 work outs get to be too much, I will just change that part of it but continue with the month 1 work outs until you girls are ready for your recovery. I'll play it by ear.

Jacque:: Your rotation looks good. I have heard that month 2 has more strength work in it then month 1 though so the extra u/b work outs may not be necessary or perhaps only one per week would cut it. With month 2 Insanity work outs being 50-60 mins long each I will likely be looking to do much shorter weight work outs then I am doing now. I may be pulling One on One Training with Jackie (20 mins total to hit ALL of the upper body!) back out and using that for the month. I think month 2 is gonna KICK MY ASS! Seriously! :confused: Yeah you and my mom are like long lost twin sisters I swear! It's funny! All of those salad suggestions sound simple and delish. I think I will copy 'em down and try 'em! I love salad but admittedly get tired of the same old thing.

Diana:: Well if the kids respond well to him then obviously the coach is going about it the right way. He's gotta be a likeable guy then so that's cool. LOL yeah I have no idea how your DH knew about the filter. Perhaps it's a man thing in knowing how mechanical things are put together??? *shrugs* I take complete credit for my vacuum cleaner though. I figured it out and I fixed it so :p on my DH! LOL

Ended up goin' out for dinner. DH wanted to go to a local rib place. I'm not a rib eater so I had a side salad and a burger. I also had a couple pieces of their absolutely INCREDIBLE garlic bread. I washed it all down with a Coors Light. Really wasn't a ton of food but man am I full...and tired....no...more like EXHAUSTED! Picked up a movie to watch tonight but I won't make it through. Goin' to bed instead. The movie can wait...Nothing like a thrillin' saturday night for ya, huh? :p

Hey Ladies,

Well I had a successful shopping trip. It didn't start out that way but ended up that way. First we stopped at the AT&T store to get DS2 a new phone. His pretty much bit the dust. Of course they didn't have it in stock so they found another store that did for us. Then we stopped at Staples as they had the desktop I wanted on sale. Of course, not in stock either. Stopped and the next nearest staples and they had it (display only), but the price was $80 more than advertised. I brought that to their attention and they are shipping me one from another store at the advertised price. I've been burned twice buying the floor models so I never do that anymore. I also bought a new 23" flat screen, HDMI monitor. This will make Jerod happy as I will wipe and give our old pc and flat monitor to him.

Then we had to head to the other AT&T store to pick up the new cell phone and DS also wanted to stop in at the Nordstrom Rack. I bought him a couple pair of shorts.

Once we got home, DH had company and they were playing Rock Band in the basement. No workout for me today.

Jacque-Your rotation looks good. I actually copied it to word so I can review it further. I'll have to split out my weight and cardio w/o's.

Wendy-Nice that you got a night out. I cooked burgers and tots, and macaroni salad for dinner for the family. I stuck to 2 boca burgers as they are only 1pt each and the burger would've been 6, and that's without the bun.

I'm going to go catch up on my recordings.
