Damage Control June :)

Hello Ladies. :D

Well last night's training studio work out was canned for a dinner date with DH in the 'vette w/the top down instead!:cool::D

That being said, I am going to work out there solo this evening after I finish training a 6pm client. :) This is a new person for me-IDK how long she has been a member but I've never trained her before. Not even sure what she looks like! Scarey! :eek:

So this morning I did this::

12 @ 15/30:
Perfect Push Up Saw
Barbell Squat
Alternating One Arm Swing

And after a brief break I moved on to Z-Cut #6...with a few changes/modifications of course. :p

Diana:: Glad you and the girls got some time at the water park y'day despite the late start. When I was home with DS this past summer and back when I was still a SAHM mom we seemed to ALWAYS get a late start!:rolleyes::confused: I guess that's just how I roll! :p I'm not a Vin Diesel fan but I hope you enjoyed him! ;) Can't wait to hear your thoughts on T-25. IDT I will order though. I have Insanity and both Asylums. I can always shorten them to make my own version of T-25 if I want to! :D

Laura:: Every girl needs her "beauty sleep" and without it, how can DH expect you to have energy for your work out with him later?? ;);):D Yep, the Z's are perfect for me right now! Loving them! LOL re the lunges-that was the point!;) I had some nice glute doms from that work out too!:)

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did the first lower body focused w/o in a very long time, Lower Body Blast. Then I added on a few glute specific exercises...as the backside is slipping with the lack of lower body weights.

Tonight is Aquatic Conditioning, according to the schedule, July 2nd is the last class. Bootcamp starts on July 1st so that works out great for me.

Still no shipping notice for T-25, thought I would have one for sure today.

Wendy-sounds like a fun date night!! Hope your PT session goes well tonight. I'm hoping I like T-25 as much as I like the previews of it!!

Laura-I hear yah on the no alone time. The girls room is across from ours and they know to knock....but they always say "why is the door locked?" :eek: Enjoy your alone time.:p

Quick check in before bed!

The training session went well. She's a newer member...has only been there a few weeks at most....so her exercises are mostly body weight and basic. She required a lot of form corrections on some of the exercises for sure but that's pretty much to be expected and it was great practice for me so I was happy! :)

So after the training was over someone wished her a good vacation and then asked where she was headed. She told us and so I went over to talk to her about it b/c it's some place we were considering going. Well I said we were supposed to go there but that DH's family ended up deciding that they wanted to go to Canada instead and I expressed disappointment in the destination switch but that everyone really wants to go there instead. Well then she proceeds to tell me that she is from Canada so she thanks me/them for that!:eek: IDK if she meant my disappointment (sarcastically) or the fact that they really want to go there instead so now I'm all freaked out that she is going to complain about me! UGH! :eek::rolleyes: I obviously wasn't trying to insult anyone. Who knew she'd be from freakin' CANADA and for her to get insulted by that would be ridiculous IMO!:rolleyes: Fingers crossed I'm just over-reacting! OY. Only me!:confused:

Ok, had to get that off my chest...time for bed!:cool:
 
Hi Ladies,

Oh my gosh, my legs are so sore this morning. On top of doing legs yesterday, we did a ton of kicking an pulling drills in class last night. That combo made for a sore lower body today.

Today may be a rest day today as my body feels like it needs one. I had a great week WW wise and worked out a lot. The scale is not reflecting that this morning though.:mad: I'm guessing my weight will be the same as last week. Better than gaining though. I also think that this is my "set weight" since I've been at this weight for many years. I just need to push through it and get beyond it.

Wendy-Folks new to exercise, and even us experienced exercisers need form pointers. Glad you were comfortable enough to point them out to her. I wouldn't worry about the vacation conversation. You had your heart set on one destination and it was changed to another. If your training session went well, that should be what's important.

Laura-I saw your pictures on FB, looks like a successful fishing trip!!! Hope you had a fun date night!

Morning Ladies .

Had a WONDERFUL date night .. swam in the pool - rode the dogs in the woods - took a jacuzzi - grilled some snapper w/onions and peppers mm mm mm .. and the "fun workout" was FUN and energetic too :eek::eek:;););) and much needed!! woot woot! great night! now he starts "nights" and will be an ill pill for a week :mad: lol

Wendy - I wouldnt worry about the vaca comment - all the Canadian's I have ever met have great sense of humor and sarcasm ... she was prbly being funny haha you know!! Are you training her again this week?? you will know soon enough then!! LOLOL :p JK .. dont worry ..

Di - yes we finally had a GREAT trip - FINALLY - it was a blast - my bis and shoulders and core are sore from reeling up fish ... cant imagine trying to reel those fish up and not be somewhat in shape - geesh!!

Morning Ladies ..

got to say Bob's new workouts NOT what I was expecting - but I liked them - I did CORE WOD 1 ystdy at luch - the warm up 10 min - the actual workout was three moves repeated for 6 minutes - then 3 additional min - then ends w/a 3 min plank hold :eek: YOWZA - he did a new body/core move that I KNEW was gonna make me hurt today - and I was RIGHT - I can barely breath - DOMS: ENTIRE transverse abdominal muscle and all the obliques! I also did an interval run/walk after work w/hills - DOMS: Hammies!! :eek: so today is a FORCED REST DAY ugh i am a HURTIN!

Di - congrats on weight loss .. and yes .. the right direction is ALWAYS a good thing no matter how much!!!! WTG!

Wendy - not sure what TGU is .. but the rest looks awesome - hey a friend of mine sent me a text last night - she is in Biloxi - and hit a jackpot - $2500 .. HER FIRST ONE .. she was SUPER EXCITED .. and yes she cashed out .. :D... I wish I had of been with her ..

OK .. sooooo today we have a Bus. Office meeting after work - then BFF wants to meet for a cold beer afterwards ... not sure what is up w/that ??? and TMRW IS FRIDAY .. and for once I WILL BE HOME!! WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I HOPE I will get to sleep in for the first time in about a month!!!

Thanks to both of you for putting my mind at ease regarding the vacation convo with that client the other night. It hasn't come back to bite me so I am thinking you gals were right. If she was upset, she would have said something by now, right??

Last night was another one on one session (this was probably at least my 4th time training this girl...) and tonight I'm running the group session.:)

The Studio owner tagged me in a post on FB y'day in which he officially announced to all of his members that I have recently left behind the "intern" tag and am an official trainer there now and that he is glad to have me on board. Felt awesome reading that! Very cool of him. He didn't have to do that. :)

Di:: Woo hoo on the weight loss! You are doing great with WW this time around! Keep goin' to those meeting girl! You'll reach your goal this time! I know you will! :D

oh .. YES I know what a TGU is ... ok got it!! yup a little tuffy of an exercise too!! LOL .. the new Bob's .. there are three disc "phases" 1 -Cardio 2 - Core 3- Strength . think you are supposed to do the cardio one first .. but you know me .. I NEVER do what it calls for ... b/c I am doing my own thing all the time .. and I only wanted core ... they are all SHORT workouts .. kinda built around the "crossfit" concept - but not INSANE ... and risky like crossfit .. I am gonna try the cardio this weekend and see what it is like - bet the strength one is brutal .. but then again .. it may not be .. think it is the reptitiveness that is so brutal ...

Hi Ladies,

So happy it's Friday!!! Wednesday was a rest day as this poor ole bod' needed it. Thursday morning was a dentist apt, but I did make it to swimming last night.

Oh my gosh, I swam a mile in class last night!! 3 of us in the class are doing triathlons so we really wanted to work on our endurance. I'm going to miss this class. I'm torn between bootcamp and this aquatic conditioning class.

This morning I'm going to find a circuit, something that hits cardio & weights. My go to w/o for this is HST but I might try a different disc this morning. I did AB last week....decisions...decisions.

Wendy-I saw your FB post, nice w/o this morning!!! I think it's great the studio posted about you on FB. TGU's are hard...or maybe they are just hard for me.:eek: It's always good to challenge the body in different ways.

Laura-glad you are liking Bob's new stuff. I checked on my T25 order and it is scheduled for delivery on Monday. I'm secretly hoping to have it tomorrow. Tri training starts up next week, but I will definitely find time to try out a few new discs.

Here's my TGIF WOD::

4 rounds of::
10 single db squats holding heavy db on right shoulder (holding one hvy db on shoulder increases core activation ;))
10 alternate hand slide reaches (core/ub)
10 single db squats holding heavy db on left shoulder
3 x 10sec holds Floor Bridges

Then::

8@15/15 of 3 different pairs of exercises from AB.

So last night I found out that the studio owner is against any plié style move. :eek: He says it trains your inner thighs to do the work that your bum should be doing and therefore can culminate in a weak pancake azz! So now I need to ask what exercises he approves of to work the inner thighs! :)

Laura:: Thanks for the low down on the new Bob's.

Di:: You are coming so far with your swimming! 1 mile is awesome! Keep it up! :D Thanks re my work out. BTW, if you do TGU's correctly, they are supposed to be difficult. ;)

Hello ladies ..

busy busy busy here today .. and traffic is horrible .. I hate to see what next week is like .. geesh!!! we had HORRIBLE storms ystdy and last night - and by the looks of the watches and the radar we are in for another round this afternoon :mad: WTH is up w/mother nature this summer .. she is PI$$ED!!! Our meeting last longer than we wanted - still met BFF and had some CABS . and it was nice .. guess she just needed to talk .. ???

DI - congrats on the swimming endurance improvement - are you no longer going to take that class??? if you dont take it can you keep up your swimming practice???

Wendy - now i have to disagree w/the trainer on the plia' moves ..I LUV the plia'!!!! to me a good old fashioned plia move is THE best for sculpting that pretty snake cut in the quad and hammies and yes some into the inner thigh .. I have never condsidered it a glute exercise. Now to me the best inner thigh work - is the disc side lateral slides done either w/a squat on standing leg (which he prbly wont approve of b/c of the danger of overextension of the standing weight bearing leg) .. or done from a plank position - and legs in and out in V - single or together. Another goodie is side plank w/top leg on large step and bring the bottom leg up to the top - you can add a leg weight for resistance - and then there is the standard .. oldie but damn sure goodie .. side laying weight on inner thigh standard lift up.. you can even add pressure w/your hand ... and dont forget the BALL - inner thigh torture squeezes .. EEEOUCH!!!

Hi Ladies,

Goodness am I ever slacking this morning...it's almost noon actually. I started laundry then some unplanned activity with DH;)...then I was starving so I opted to eat lunch instead of pick. Probably time to get busy on my workout.

I just checked on my T25's and they are out for delivery today. if they don't arrive in time I'm doing B&G, abs....and a cardio session if I'm up for it.

Jerod and I may go see White House Down today or tomorrow. Other than that and household stuff, we don't have any real plans. This is my girls last weekend here...booh. They are at a festival today with their dad.

Laura-Bootcamp and the swim class are both on Thursday's. I opted for the swim class over bootcamp for June. I'm ready to get back to boot camp. Tri training starts this week so I will be getting in plenty of swim workouts, albeit with my training partner and not the swim class. We have a program we will be following and I just bought a kickboard, fins and pull bouy for us. I still need to find the hand pulls. There is also open swim at the rec ctr where I can practice.

Wendy-you are the master at creating new workouts...keep up the good work. To each their own opinion I guess. We are told in bodypump when doing plié or any kind of squat to "squeeze the cheeks" at the top of the movement. Wide stance (non plié) squats activate the glutes more without compromising the leg work. I'm all for variety though and as long as you are working your glutes with other exercises then I don't see the harm.

Hi Girls,

Guess everyone is busy this weekend. I was a slug yesterday...never even got out of my jammies.

T25 arrived late yesterday afternoon. This morning I did Supersets, did the legs section twice through...then on to the first disc of T25. It was not what I was expecting. It had some familiar moves in it and my calves will probably be talking back to me tomorrow! I did my own weighted ab work while I previewed the Speed 1.0, the next disc. This disc looks like so much fun. I almost decided to do it today but am waiting until tomorrow. I need to get a grocery list together and go to the store....and other household chores.

Hello Ladies. :)

Y'day was ZCut Power #1 and I felt "meh" about it.

Today was ZCut Cardio #8 and I liked it!

Tmrw morning will be some type of resistance training for me. I was going to take the group training session tmrw night and do a Z-Cut Cardio in the a.m. but the owner asked tonight if I could work the session instead and of course I said yes!:D

So I forgot to tell you! On Saturday I went to see our new "home"! His lease is up for the current studio location so he decided to move/upgrade his facility. It's bigger and in a better/more visible/busier location. Could be moved in as early as Wednesday of this week! Best part is, it's still super close to home for me...just in a different direction! :D

Di/Laura:: To each their own on the plie' thing. :) Trust me...I've always done them without a second thought so I'm certainly not going to tell you you are wrong for doing them! I am just personally choosing to try and train myself the way he trains his clients b/c it will help me become a better trainer at his facility! :) So plié away my friends! Do a few extra for me, please! :D

Laura:: Hope all is well with your BFF. Sorry about the storms. Scarey stuff. How was your weekend? Better weather I hope!:eek: I've tried that move where you elevate the top leg and lift the bottom to meet it. Not easy but a goody for sure! ;)

Diana:: Hope you got the shopping/chores done today that you wanted to! So did you enjoy T25 even though it's not what you expected? Let us know how White House Down was if you saw it! That one I actually DID see the trailer for!:p
