Damage Control June :)

Hi Ladies,

I was out of pocket over the weekend too! Saturday was Hard Strikes and core #1. The plan was to do cardio and weights but with my back still bothering me lifting was not going to work.

Yesterday was my triathlon. I beat last years time by 7:10....and am pretty stoked about that!!!!:D

Vacation day for me to spend with the girls and we are heading back to the waterpark. It is supposed to reach 97 today...uuugghhh...too hot for this chick. We are planning on getting there when it opens and leaving around lunch time. When the girls have their "quiet time" grandma will go workout. My back is starting to feel better so weights may be doable, if not then it will be a cardio TBD.

Wendy-really....just gonna leave us hangin???? I really like the w/o you posted on the 9th. I've copied that one for my own personal use!:) I would love to see a show on broadway, how exciting!!!

LOL, Di. Sorry about leavin' you hangin' but I really couldn't post more then that tid bit until now (lunch time)...

Anyway the excitement is due to the fact that I emailed the trainer/owner of the studio I've been interning at to ask him how long the internship will last and what comes after that. Well, he emailed me back that the internship at this point is up to me b/c he is happy with me and would love for me to stick around and work for him. He said talking to me about employment options was already on his "to do" list so we will be talking about it as soon as we both have some time to sit down together this week!:D

Great job on the new Tri PR, Di! That's fantastic! :D Enjoy the waterpark with the kiddos. Hope your back cooperates so you can lift later!

Laura:: How was your weekend? I hear you on TS Andrea! She screwed up our work outing at the track! :mad: It didn't cancel it but it would have been so much more fun had it not chased up indoors! :(

I'm so tired this morning. Not sure why I didn't sleep very well, tossed and turned all night long.:mad:

My plan was to run this morning but I don't have the energy. I'll pick a Cathe cardio. Yesterday was Xtrain CSB and my ab machine while the girls in quiet time.

Tonight will be my first night of Aquatic Conditioning. I believe there are only 4 people in the class. This class focuses on stroke refinement and swimming more efficiently. Hoping this will help with my swimming anxiety.

Goodness, it is supposed to be 99 degrees. It is so early to be having these high temps.

Wendy-Congratulations on the employment oppertunity!!!! It's in the field you studied for...so happy for you!!!:D

hello ladies ..

well been on vaca .. and I am calling it the Good - the Bad and the Ugly ... had a great fishing trip :D:cool: - then had to cancel a fishing trip due to horrible stormy waether :mad::mad: - then ended up in ER w/DH hand (long story):( - then had a RUFF sea fishing trip :confused::confused: that lasted too long and we got home late on a night that I have to work next day (which is something I was promised wouldnt happen again) :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!! I am tired - sunburned - ILL - and sore!!!!

Wendy - GREAT NEWS ... congrats .. I am proud of you .. hey he knows talent when he sees it .. congrats!!!

Di - excellent on the tri!!! wooohoo .. WTG .. wow your temps sound more like mine now .. yup .. it is a scorcher down here .. hot upper 90's and HUMID!!!!!! :(

Yesterday was a rest day but today I'm back at it! I'll BBL with my work out!

Thanks for the congrats regarding the studio. I just hope I like what he has to offer me b/c I really want to be able to work there! It's such an awesome place!

Laura:: Sounds like your vacation had it's share of ups and downs! IDK what happened to your DH to send him to the ER but I sure hope he's ok!!!!!:eek:

This morning's work out::

squat and chop (3 sets per side of 10 reps each)
then using a sandbag...
1 bent over row, 1 squat, 1 push up-wash rinse and repeat for 3 minutes
1 minute rest
2 bent over rows, 2 squats, 2 push ups-repeat for 3 mins
1 minute rest
3 bent over rows, 3 squats, 3 push ups-repeat for 3 mins
and last but not least...
Tabatas 4 and 5 from Tabatacise.

Well I feel better today.. I took vaca and got some rest..slept in ..got some much need housework and laundry done.. and did combat 60live... can tell I have been on vaca drinking and no formal exercise..yikes..but it felt great.. of course we r missing the best sea forecast of the month..but we both had to re charge our batteries .. we just were both SPENT!!!!

Wendy..dh..he nicked his finger doing some plumbing work and the next day his finger n hand were fire red and swollen twice as big... our EMT friend was afraid he had a staff infection... it was just a scratch...but looked like he had smashed his hand...he is on antibiotics and it is better ..but still looks like crap!!!!... let us know when u talk to the center about possible position..keeping fingers crossed...

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to run this morning but after getting the girls dressed & fed, I'm just running to late to run and have lost my motivation. I ended up doing CLB this morning and was hoping to do weights tonight....but the girls are watching Mulan 2 on my w/o TV.

Tomorrow is another vacation day to stay with the girls. We will probably be going back to the Bay. We have numerous fires around our state and it's so foggy and smells like fire outside. Hopefully it will won't ruin our day tomorrow.

The Aquatic Conditioning class is awesome! Last night was my first session and it kicked my butt. We do intervals...super hard for me...but I need all the practice I can get. I think our instructor is a High School student ....but she is awesome. There are only 4 people in our class and we have 2 lanes so we get an awesome workout and individual instruction.

Laura-Hope you and DH are both doing better now. It's always nice to have that extra vacation day just to catch up on everything before heading back to work.

Wendy-So are you following the program you posted on FB? I totally agree with the food/exercise approach. I'm down another 1.2 lbs for a total of 6.4 so far on WW. I'm just going to stick with WW for right now.

Lori-what are you up to???

So it's official! I do my first paid session at the pt studio tonight!:D:D:D It's an owner/operator deal. He said I tell him when I can work and he doesn't tell me what to wear. LOL Being able to set my own availability is perfect right now and it's what I've been doing through out the internship so everything should go smoothly. I get paid per session, not per hour which means, for example, if I train 2 + people at the same time (PT, not group) and let's say for arguments sake that I am getting paid $10 per session then I get paid $20 for the hour as opposed to just getting paid $10 per hour. Make sense?

Hi Ladies,

Another vacation day for me.... the girls and I went to the water park after all. We have numerous fires in Colorado and the smoke is pretty bad at times. The smoke was bad last night but seemed a bit better today. The alternate was to go swimming at the rec ctr. I'm going to check out the kiddie section when I'm there tonight for class.

I did Xtrain Bi's, Tri's and Core #2 this morning. Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow. Some kind of cardio TBD.

Wendy-Woo Hoo!!!! Getting paid for doing what you love....it doesn't get much better than that!! Is the rate the same for group training? I'm sure once you have some experience under your belt the compensation will go up. I see you did Kettlebells this morning....I did 100 swings the other...just cuz!

Laura-how are you feeling today? Hopefully better.

Here's my TGIF WOD!;)

5 rounds of 10 squats and 10 two arm swings
4 rounds of 10 rear lunges per side and 10 one arm swings per side
3 rounds of 10 goblet squats and 20 skaters which is 10 per side
2 rounds of 10 side slide lunges and 10 jump squats
1 round of 10 deadlifts and 10 burpees

Di:: Nice work out y'day. Hope you enjoyed whatever cardio you decided on this morning! Someone at the studio last night was talking about the fires in CO as we watched and heard the rain coming down like a monsoon outside the studio doors! Wish I could give you some of it! We've had tons of rain lately! TOO MUCH! Group training is the same pay as personal training for one person b/c you are still only doing ONE work out/session but for multiple people. You get more for multiple PT sessions at one time b/c you are actually doing two different work outs/sessions simultaneously. Does that make sense?

Hi Ladies,

Friday ended up being a rest day for me. Yesterday was a 28 mile bike ride! The weather was perfect and we had a great ride!

Today will be weights, probably another Xtrain session and abs.

I bought new phones for DH & I, the Galaxy S4. I'm giving him his today and we will have to call to activate it. The $100 trade in on my existing phone brought the price down to what I was willing to pay. We'll get a $100 credit on DH's phone too, I just have to turn it in within 14 days. Anyway, I just got them yesterday and it's making me crazy not to be abe to play with it, download my apps and configure it for me.

Y'day was a rest day for me. I was up in NY state at a ceremony for my nephew who was receiving his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts. His older brother earned this last year but I couldn't make it to his. Pretty cool ceremony and pretty freakin' awesome accomplishment! Very proud! :)

Today I went to the studio and did one of the Group Training work outs on my own. Good stuff! :D

Tmrw I get to sleep in as I plan to take the Group Training Session with the members at 7pm. :D

Hope any dads you know are having a great day!

Hi Ladies,

We've had a wonderful Father's Day at my house. DS2 made breakfast for DH, the girls and I made breakfast for DS1, then I made breakfast for the rest of us. DH got a new book, a new DVD player and a new cell phone!

I managed to fit in Xtrain Burn Sets all UB today. We had MIL over for an early dinner and DS3 made ribeye's on the grill and I made some broiled bell peppers, potato salad and cole slaw. It's been a great day.

Now I need to learn how to use my new phone. Hopefully I can get my ringtones added back and go through some of the tutorials ....there are tons of features on this phone.

Wendy-Wow, and Eagle Scout is quite an accomplishment. Glad you were able to go to the ceremony. Nice that you are partaking in the group training too. My training partner told me our instructor did a small part of the workouts she has us do and not only was it a struggle for her, but she was very sore afterwards!!

Morning Ladies-

I have been on vaca - we were fishing - WELL TRYING to fish :confused: man we got the snot beat out of us - EVERY DAY was ruff as H#LL - we averaged 3 - 5 ft seas and some days were 6 - 8 ft seas :mad: :confused::mad: :confused: and we didnt have a good catch eitehr - I am beat up and tired - I have bruises all over my body - and of all things got bit by a stupid SPIDER :mad: :confused: now we are wondering if DH finger wasnt bit by a spider! my arm is red itchy and swollen about the size of the inside of my palm .:confused::confused:.. I am just gonna watch it .. if it turns color or spreads .. I am going to the dr w/it !!!

No workouts to report but fishing in those seas and trying to pull up fish and stay on board .. my arms and core dang sure got a workout!!

Di - sounds like the men in your household had a great FD!!!! saw the picture of the girls and their dad .. too cute!!!

Wendy - congrats on the position .. WTG!!!! sounds like you have found your "nitch" ... yayayayayayayyayaya!!!!

Decided to get up this morning and burn a few extra calories with Combat Kickstart. I'm feeling a bit too "fluffy" these days and a little extra cardio might help. Then tonight I still plan to darken the studio door for small group training!:D

Laura:: Yikes, sorry about the rough seas and the spider bite. Watch that bite carefully! :eek:

Diana:: Sounds like a great way to spend Father's Day! DS helped me make his father breakfast in bed (waffles), then he took his dad out to lunch while I exercised and food shopped. Finally he helped me make him dinner last night - a not so healthy meal of hotdogs with chili, baked beans and mac n cheese!

And OMG! My back is sooooo sore from jumping back into Combat with weighted gloves on after a long hiatus! I was almost crying trying to roll over in bed last night! YIKES!:eek:

Hi Ladies,

I spent a few hours at the waterpark with the girls yesterday. Before heading out though I did Imax 3! I've been missing my Cathe cardio sessions. Not sure what's in store for this morning. I should be running but just am not feeling it.

I'm not looking forward to my weigh in on Wednesday. After Father's Day dinner of ribeyes, potato salad cole slaw, yummy dessert with pudding and cream cheese....then last night we went to a Thai restaurant with MIL for DH's Bday.....today is his actual birthday and I made a cheesecake (his request)....pretty sure the scale will reflect all this yummy good food. I try to limit my portions and will probably stay away from the cheesecake all together.

Is anyone else order T25...the Shaun T. Series??? I think it's available for order on the 24th...only a few more days!!!

Wendy-I can't imagine you being fluffy...at all. You and Lori are just so tiny compared to me. With all your awesome workouts I'm sure you look fabulous! Nothing wrong with a good sweatfest though.:D I have the Zcut series and TBH...I haven't even done them. I previewed the first w/o and that's it. I guess I'm kind of missing her and BodyRock too.

Laura-your trip sounds terrible, no one in your group gets sea sick???? Another bite, you better keep a close eye on that young lady. Is DH's bite/injury healing up ok? Yay for a coworker helping out while you were out!!!
