Damage Control July Month :)

Hi Ladies,

Wow, not fun waking up to the tragedy in CO. Zach spends a lot of time in Aurora so DH called him right away. He's fine thankfully.

Jerod and I went Sea kayaking today. I started out with Jerod in a 2 person kayak and my cousin was in the single kayak. It was nerve racking since Jerod doesn't have much balance...but we managed. Then we came back and switched, Jerod went in the single kayak and my cousin and I were in the 2 person. It's a tough shoulder workout for sure. Well my cousin and I ended up pretty far ahead of Jerod when we saw that he had flipped the kayak. I think it scared my cousin much more than it scared me. Jerod was actually pulling/swimming the kayak towards shore by the time we got to him. I hope to go out again this weekend with my cousin.

Lori-I love the original BM! It was one of my first Cathe w/o's too and I pretty much know it by heart. Glad you were able to get a run in yesterday, exercise is definitely good for your sanity....especially if you have 4 kids to take care of!

Laura-you need to take care of yourself Laura. The situation wil work itself out, or you'll figure out the best way to deal with it. Don't let it take over your life/health. You seem to get some bad storms more often than the rest of us.

Wendy-The recipe is at the very least a starting point. I don't really notice much difference using bay leaves either.:confused: DH may work with me on my open water swimming tomorrow...I'm kind of looking forward to although the water is a bit cold.

Hello. :)

Well our dinner was yummy and I think tmrw's dessert will be too! Now I have a small bottle of kahlua that I must "force" myself to consume. ;)

Diana:: I was thinking of you when I heard about what happened in Aurora this morning but hesitated to bring it up as I didn't want to possibly cause unneeded/extra worry. Glad your son is ok!!!

Laura:: I heard/read (and hopefully it's true!) that the 3 month old is okay. The parents brought it to the hospital as a precaution only. Ofcourse I am still scratching my head at why that baby was at the movie in the first place...especially at that time of night!!?? :confused:

Lori:: Nice work out. I used to love the original BM leg circuits but could never grasp the choreo of the ones in BM2 for some reason.

Good Morning

I'm starting to enjoy my Saturday's more then I thought. I'm glad I just get to do my own thing today and that there isn't much of a schedule. I have a feeling my fil will be by to get DS at some point in time. He usually picks him up on Saturdays. I was also thinking about taking him to see ice age 4 but I would have to drive 90 mins there and back, and the movie doesn't start until 7 which means we wouldn't get home until 10 tonight. I haven't ruled it out but I could also wait and see when it's playing in a closer town and hope they have a afternoon viewing.

Wendy** I've never tried to make that dessert, probably b/c I'm not a huge fan but I know a lot of people you love it. I am a cheesecake kind of girl. I thought a out making one to pass some time but guess who will be the one left eating it? And cream cheese isn't good for the waistline :eek:. Hope you have a good time tonight! I was invited out with the girls last night for dinner but they weren't going until 7:45. I was already starving at 5 and it's to close to bed time for the boys. Normally I start our routine around 8. That's why I'm on the fence with the movie tonight. If I take the baby with me it won't be enjoyable. And if I leave him home then he's likely to put er up cause he likes to nurse his way to lala land.

Diana** poor jerod....lol...I guess swimming came in handy for him:). Are your shoulders sore today? I have a feeling that some shoulder work is in my future.

Laura** how are you feeling? Any plans this weekend?

Picked up some nice lulu from my friend yesterday. The crops are called run in the sun and they are so cute. She also picked up a tank to go with it. I may have to start a 3rd drawer for my lulu. Can you say "problem"?????

Good chance it'll only be you and I this weekend unless Diana decides to pop in at some point. Laura doesn't usually post on weekends...

This morning's plan is shaping up to be this LF upper body/core routine- Fitness Muse Workout : @LovingFit plus some cardio at the gym.

Originally I was going to separate the 2, doing upper one day and cardio the next but I realized that if I combine them into one day then I will have time for yoga tmrw. :)

Lori:: Glad you are appreciating your weekends more and more. I was beginning to think you were a wierdo for not liking them!:p Yeah-90 minutes is a lot of driving for a movie! :eek: I would wait til it's showing at a theater closer to you! You know you don't have to make full on fatty azz cheesecake! None of my desserts I make are ever the full fat kind. I always get my recipes from the sites that lighten them up. This isn't to say that they aren't fattening...just not AS fattening! :p Every little bit helps though!;)

Good Morning

My baby slept through the night last night. At first I thought I was in for a horrible night cause he was having a hard time settling. I heard him a couple of times through out the night but he didn't get up until 7:40. I'm not sure when I went to bed, it was probably around 11:30 so I had a good sleep.

Yesterday's workout was a 10k run outside with the stroller, the. 4DS shoul,bics and tris. I think today will be a circuit with AB. I also need to clean my floors.....and I'll be doing that sooner then later while everyone is content just sitting around.

Wendy** yeah I decided to blow the movie off until its a little closer and by closer I would still have to drive an hour:confused:? The movie theater use to be in the mall here and the govt bought a bunch of offices or rented them and that area was one of them. I am guessing the theater needed some work done or they wouldn't have rented it to the govt. There have been talks of people building a new one but you need a very big building obviously and I don't think anyone is willing to fork out the dough, which sucks. Not that I went a lot but you really miss it when it's gone. How was your evening with fam? I went to the inlaws for a late dinner and by the time I got home it was madness trying to get the kids in bed...by myself :(...oh well!

I may bbl. I don't really have a plan for today. I am going to clean my floors sooner then later and workout when I have a couple of coffee in me and everyone is fed.

Good Morning. :)

My upper body is feeling y'day's LF work out for sure!

My gym work out was 35 minutes on the TM that was comprised of running/walking intervals. I was running flats and walking inclines. It was a good work out and a nice change of pace.

Today's plan is yoga and I will probably do a short cardio first.

We have Church and Kohl's on the to-do list today. That's about it. We considered going swimming up by my mom but we over-slept so instead of going to 9am Mass we have to wait until 10:30. This is going to make swimming a PITA to fit in so we'll probably just skip it for today. I can take DS at some point during the week if I want...

Lori:: I am LOL'ing at how you are struggling to wash your floors. I have times like that too where I know I want to get something done but for whatever reason is just doesn't ever seem to happen...like washing my car! It needs it bad and I've saying I will do it for weeks yet the car is still filthy! :rolleyes: An hour's drive to a movie!?! Holy crap! I'd never go either!:eek: We take DS quite often these days but our closest theater is only 10 minutes away!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

I just finished Zwow#25 outside at my uncles house. It's a little humid this morning but I did it. It felt good to w/o. Yesterday I did a bit of swimming in the harbor. It was a bit colder than I would like, but I promised Jerod I would. DH helped me a bit with my swimming, and we may go in again today.

Diana:: Great job getting a ZWOW done on vacation! I am probably going to be depending on the "gym" on the cruise ship while I am away. I can deal with whatever they have there for cardio/weights but I'll miss my yoga! :( They might have classes though! I'll have to check it out! :)
 
Hey Girls:)

Better late then never right? I was up early this morning but for some reason this page wouldn't open for me:mad:. So I gave up and I went ahead and started my workout before the girls arrived. I did Amy Bento's slo mo shoul,bic and tris, HR shoul,bics,tris and abs, 3 mile run and DWP. The rest of my day wasn't very exciting...friend stopped by for coffee, went to DS's soccer and went to my in laws again for supper.

Wendy** I am hoping for some nice shoulder DOMS tomorrow. Lord knows I felt it when I was working out. I knew you were waiting for me to check in this morning...I'm surprised that you even went ahead and posted :eek:

Diana** humid or not, at least you got your workout in. My basement is always nice and cool ( until we light the woodstove in the winter time) so working isn't usually an issue. I wish I could run outside more though. It's usually to hot by the time people offer to watch the boys.

So I am thinking about doing a half marathon in oct that is close by. I want to do something but I don't want to have to pay for airfare. If I'm hoping on a plane then it will be to see my husband, not to run a race. I think I have convinced a bunch of girls to do it so it would also be a nice weekend away. It would give me something to work towards and something to look forward to.

I will bb in the morning. Hopefully I will have a better night then last night. The baby woke at 12, DS wet his bed at 3:48 , then he had to sleep with me and he started talking to the baby then:mad: and the baby decided to get up at 6:40....fingers crossed for a better night!

Ouchie....my shoulders hurt:p. I'm not sure about my bics and tris yet but I know my shoulders worked yesterday. And my hammies are still sore from Sunday's GS legs.

The baby woke at 6 to eat and I should have stayed up then. I doozed again until 7 and I felt better at 6 then I did at 7.

I'm not sure what we will do today. DS has soccer at 11 but other then that I have no plans. I don't know if I will workout before or after. I was thinking about doing chest and back. I might wait until later just so I'm not rushed.

Today I will do one of my new yoga dvds. That's it I think w/the exception, perhaps, of a very short cardio at home first. Originally I was going to hit the gym for cardio but I didn't get off to much of a running start this morning and if I go now I won't have much time to get anything else done before an apptmnt I have at 2:30 and I really should go food shopping at the very least...:rolleyes:

Lori:: Sorry you had such a rough night. Hope it's a better one for you tonight. Sounds like a fun plan for an HM! I had hopes of getting back into longer distance running/racing when I joined this gym but I just don't have the motivation so who knows if I ever will again...:confused: Nice work outs!!

TUE that is my MON

Hey girls - i am alive! survived the migrain (still have lingering one) .. me and DH took off to Biloxi .. stopped on way .. looked at cars ... and i have a NEW CAR .. :eek: :D:D:D got a good deal - and LUV it!! it is an ocean blue 2012 Maxima SV - it really kinda looks like a gun metal blue .. sometimes it looks grey - sometimes blue - sometimes silver .. strange .. and a bit unusual.. JUST LIKE ME :p I didnt win but DH won enough to cover me and still came home w/money :) ystyd I took vaca to get all the paperwork w/the new car taken care of ...SAT was first day my head didnt hurt!! no exercise to report and embarrassing amounts of food and CABS were consumed :eek: time to stop being on vaca mode and get serious again!!

Our going is done for a while .. now I get to relax enjoy my home -pool - animals - and DH .. and get back to my regular workouts!! :D

Wendy - so you got a new family member!! congrats ... a cute little thing too .. what does the dog think about him????

Lori - hope tonight is better sleep for you!!

Di - so glad your son was ok .. I thought that Auora was close to your family .. the stories are so sad .. and just like any law suit or anytime you deal w/lawyers and media .. it makes me sick they are going to say he is crazy and sleep deprived .... gggrrrrr .. do us all a favor and put him out of his misery now and save us taxpayers money and the families so much more grief .. cant imagine being a family member suffering that kind of senseless loss then have to listen to the constant news on this sicko!!!

OK .. better run .. not sure what today will bring .. but it will bring SOMETHING .. have errands at lunch .. gotta go get tags .. ugh .. rather take a beating .. b/c our courthouse people in tag dept are HORRIBLE!!!

Hey Ladies. :)

So I did Fat Free Yoga in full this morning-about 80 mins. It was another goodie!:) I've done my food shopping and will leave in about 15 mins for my appointment dressed for the gym that way if I have the motivation, I am planning on going for a run before I come back home and pick DS up from camp. If I DON'T have the motivation then no big deal-I'll just skip it...:p

Laura:: Congrats on the new ride! That's always exciting! Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! I don't think we will be heading back to the casinos until Labor Day weekend unfortunately...BOOH. My dog is curious about the new family member and looks so cute when he is "checking him out". I seriously doubt he is interested in doing him any harm. That's just not my dog. He probably wants to play! LOL Junior was out on the floor loose by accident y'day and the dog was just looking at him run around like he was thinking "WTF is THAT!?!"!!! LMAO!:D

10 minute flat fast steady state run
1 min walking recovery
5 min walking climb increasing grade gradually-started at 6% and worked up to 10%
1 min flat walking recovery
3 min flat fast run with a couple speed increases
5 min cool down

I'm up with both boys again this morning. Thought I was going to have some alone time but both are wide awake. I had my arm around DS while I was reading everyone's post and when I wanted to post I asked if I could have my arm back...he said "no".

I have a little break this week from kids (except my own). My sil is going to Montreal to see Coldplay.....we were suppose to be going to but b/c DH is away we sold out tickets ,so a friend of hers is picking the girls up tomorrow after lunch and not bringing them back until Friday sometime. I have decided to go home on Friday so maybe I will pack a few things up thurs afternoon.

Last night I finally got my workout in. I did Amy Bentos slo mo chest and back, and HR chest and back...then 20 mins on the tm and a 20 mins tabata spin workout. I don't know why I keep picking that one. It's like a form of torture. I'm of sure what today's workout will be. My shoulders are still sore....

Wendy** I'm not surprised that you almost didn't check in:p. 80 mins of yoga?? I would have fell a sleep! Lol Long distance isn't the easiest thing to get in to. My running partner is trying to convince me to do Ottawa again next year. But yet shes acting all weird about doing a half in oct. I keep telling her to give it up! I'm not sure what's going through her head but if she thinks she is gong to run another Mary in may then she might need to realize that half isn't a big deal:rolleyes:.

Laura** sounds like you are feeling better. I knew it would just take some time. Everyone has been leaving me alone lately so I'm happy too:D. My mil keeps trying to talk about the building selling but how often can we talk about the same thing? Ugh!

Diana** I noticed on fb that your flight was delayed. Hope you make it home safe and sound today!

Today will be this full body work out:: The 330 Workout - LovingFit.com

plus cardio and/or yoga depending on what time I start working out, how much energy I have and how patient DS is being. ;)

So I offered to take DS back to the spraygrounds today that we went to last week b/c he had so much fun. Well much to my surprise he told me that he'd prefer to go bowling again instead! I was shocked but that's fine with me! :)

Lori:: I have Slo Mo. It's a good work out but I can probably count on one hand how many times I've used it and I've had the dvd for years!:confused: LOL re falling asleep during that long of a yoga work out but time pretty much flies for me I guess b/c I have come to enjoy it so much. Also, I don't do much "sleepy" yoga unless all I am after is a stretch. Most of what I do is a combo of stretching and strength/endurance moves...and even cardio in some of them!:D So yeah-I would think your partner would want to do the HM as part of her full training! Wierd! :confused: Enjoy your babysitting break!

Ok, DS just got up so I guess I should get my arse moving here...

I just finished Afterburn 1-5 premix for today's cardio. Now I am primed and ready for another 80 min yoga tmrw!!! Wanna join me, Lori!? :D I doubled up on the stretches after both work outs today since I wasn't doing any yoga. I did the stretches from both BC and ME after this morning's work out and then did the AB stretch twice tonight. Felt great!. :)
