Damage Control in January...TGIF!!!

Jacque: DOMS never set into my legs! I can't freakin' believe it but I'll take it! LOL I may just have to torture 'em more now. ;) I used to take glucosamine for my knees. I don't know if it every actually helped but you can try. It can't hurt!:)

Lori: You used to be able to run like 10 miles on the TM, right? You probably got so used to taking DS out in the jogging stroller that now the TM is boring for you. I like it because I enjoy my Itrain/CC work outs but I do admit that steady state can get mucho boring on the TM. :rolleyes: LOL at a leg work out not being worth it if ya don't feel it the next day.

Diana: I know CLX is a 3 month program which will make it more difficult but I did the X and plan on doing STS as well so I can handle CLX. I did 3 rotations in a row so now I am ready for anything, remember? :D I don't see why anyone would think they could get upset that your company won't pay for internet in your home. Do you use it for work?? If you don't then they have no right to get upset.

Laura: So how was class last night? You want cold weather? Come up here today! 9-10 degrees this morning with a real feel of about 4 below! :eek: Our heat can't keep up! It's set on 72 and it's only 64 degrees in the house right now! It dropped like a stone over night. :eek:

Ang: Missin' ya girl! Come out and play! :)

Gonna do Amy's Slo Mo upper body split as produced since the premix was such a let-down. I'll do one today and one on Sunday. May also add in some Squeeze and/or Bodystrikes if I have the time/energy. ;)

Good Morning Ladies:)

I was up before everyone else today...but it doesn't take long for the rest of them to get up after me:confused: Leaving me with no time for myself:eek: I checked my email, went to FB and thats as far as I got. Oh well......

Wendy** I never run steady state anymore. I usually start @ 5.8 and increase it .1 every 2 mins, until I am 20 mins in and then I start with the intervals and hills. The only time I ever do steady state is when I am watching a movie and I haven't done that in a looooong time. I downloaded a Itrain one time and couldn't figure out how to put it on my ipod! LOL So I never did use it. My Ipod isn't user friendly.

I don't think I reported yesterdays workout. I did 4 miles (33 mins) on the TM and was aiming for a few of the DM cardios but only got 3 done when my sister showed up.

Todays workout is suppose to be PLB but I may do L&G instead. Im also going to fit in cardio.

Morning Ladies .. teeth are chattering this morning .. BBBBRRRRRRRRR .. and yes I know I shouldn't complain you girls up north got it BAD!!! YOWZA how do you function???? Got down in the teens and just now is around 22 degrees :eek: my body does NOT like the cold!!

Class was good . . I changed up and did my mish mosh plyo / core / matt /pushup class :eek: I know I shouldnt have .. could not help it wanted to "test" the shoulder .. well after the staggered pushups one side did fine .. went to the other .. and oooppss .. couldnt go down like I should .. so I only did 3 sets of pushups ... and iced the shoulder real good when I got home .. Popping ibuprofen now :eek: maybe no damage was done!!! Doc is gonna be pi$$ed!!!

Wendy .. yup girl .. I have been watching your area on the weather .. YIKES .. I would have to go into hibernation!! LOL .. and poor Ang .. think she must be getting the worst of the weather AND temps .. hope all is ok!!! LOL about let DOMS .. it does make you KNOW you did a good w/o to have the DOMS .. I rarely get DOMS in my quads .. but the hammies scream to me on a consistant basis!

Lori ..I get bored on the TM too .. I would much rather run a trail run in the woods ... but CC make the dreadmill not so bad!!!

Jacque ..DH corrected me on the moon .. he said it was "almost" full 2 nights ago .. guess I was thinking a few days behind ... ?? .. we will have to check in next time the full moon rolls around .. and put it to a test!! :p My pot roast was a sirloin .. slow cooked all day .. and it was DELISH .. a big chuck roast can tend to get tough on ya .. I much prefer a sirloin (way less fat too) .. and you would think it would be tough .. but slow cooking all day long ..nope .. it was tender as could be MMM MMM MMM.. I was starving when I got home .. didn't take me long to gobble it down!! LOL

Di .. My gym .. HA .. you know the horror stories w/the new owners .. they really dont fix anything and certainly would not spring for new equiptment even as simple as sliders!! So I sprung for the cheap fill in .. LOL!!! SIL said during the w/o last week she thought her plastic plate was going to start a fire it got so hot .. LOL! I use bath clothes at home on the hardwood floors .. they work great!!

Ang .. hope you and your family are ok .. the weather in your area looks wicked .. maybe you will check in when you get a chance!! Stay warm!!

Jen .. hope you are feeling good today!!! Have you started your light w/o back yet??

Eats last night: sirloin roast w/veggies (and a couple CABS :eek:) - today bowl of cereal ... snack will be a grapefruit!! Not sure what exercise will come today .. I forgot my stuff for the gym ... but I am in jeans so I may could eek out a heavy leg w/o at lunch ..?? ...we will see!

Better run ... changing 2008 files out *ugh* ... hope everyone stays warm and has a great TGIF .. and great workouts!!:D
 
Oh YES, TGIF is ABSOLUTELY correct !

I must ask: were there only 5 working days this week? Seemed like 10 ! :eek:

Up and at 'em early enough, but only made it through 1/2 of Kick Max - was tired and just not feeling it much. Will either finish when I get home or hit the TM for some intervals, or . . . maybe some fartleks to eek out the stress from the week?

Wendy - DOMS set in well with me as I have done some of the FF rotations lately. Debbie seems to put in a DM or LM or CM that has non-weighted leg work that just kicks booty the day after a leg weight day. That does if for me every time ! Course I haven't tried KB's yet and don't run as much as you. I did notice at times if I ran the day after a leg day DOMS were very slight so that must help.

Lori - Hope you get time to yourself today and enjoy your workouts. I remember the days when you did steady state TM and played your video games ! :p I like watching movies or some interesting shows when on the TM. I could never do it anyother way.

Eats have been sparse and the weight is piling on. Today I'll hit fitday and log y'day and today to see WTH is going on here. I have only postponed 1 workout this week and have done well. If it isn't the CABs, then ???

Well I hope the weather isn't too bad for all of you this weekend. We are finally going to have a nice weekend but will cool down next week with rain. I'll take it and hope it will elevate my extreme moodiness as of late ! :confused:

OK - off to work and another termination. :(

Hi ladies,

I'm not feeling very good so am staying home today. I will do a little work but nothing stressful. Last night I made a to-do list. I've had all these little things in the back of my mind and I just want to get them done. We have 2 non working refrigerators that need to be hauled away, get the xmas stuff back under the stairs, have a charity pick up our used clothing etc.

Fortunately I feel good enough to work out and think Burn Circuit 2 is on the agenda but am not positive. I'll be heading down in a few minutes to get started.

Wendy-The only way I can work from home is using the internet. We would have internet whether the company paid for it or not so it's really no big deal to me. The kids use it for school too. It's almost a necessity if you have school age kids these days.

Lori-sorry your "me" time was short lived. I too like the DM cardio sections and use the premixes pretty regularly.

Jacque-Terminations sound terrible. That's got to be tough on you and the person being terminated. Sounds like this is part of your job, not fun!

Laura-Our temps have been in the 30's and 40's this past week but are supposed to reach 55 today. The higher temps should stay through mid week next week even reaching into the low 60's. No complaints here!

Hello Ladies,

Just finished the workout that I started oh about.....4 hours ago:confused: I did GS legs with DS in the room, I knew i was pushing my luck. When I did ab work he was trying to pull me up off of the floor, during leg press he was either helping lift my leg up or pulling on the band to make it harder:eek: Oh and the best one was the peice of wood I put in under my toes for deadlifts, he decided to pull it out then wack me in the head with it:mad: Luckily...it didn't hurt!

Soooooooo...I did GS legs, abs, fed DS lunch, put him down for a nap and just finished 4.5 miles on the TM. I thought about adding in some cathe cardio but Ive sat here long enough that my HR is resting so I may get a nice warm bath while DS is still asleep.

I can't beleive that you guys are complaining about the COLD! Its -16 here! It is soooo cold!!! I won't even go out! Thats what I get for living in good 'ole Canada, I suppose!:D

Jacque** Hope you get your workout in later. I hate getting up early and not doing my workout justice. I still play my tetris game:D but I put it down for intervals cause I always lose!

Diana** Hope you feel better soon!

Poochy** I am making pina colodas a nightly ritual now! No wonder I am sleeping so good;) My friend called the other night and asked if I needed to be signed up for AA:) I will continue what I am doing until I am sick of that 1 measly drink....or the scale goes up. Although, according to the can, I don't think they are to bad.

Anyways....I should get the tub.

Hi ya girls.

Just finished my work out. I did Amy's Slo Mo upper body split: Back and Shoulders. I omitted the 3rd set of every exercise, went heavy and got a great work out. I followed it up with some jumping jacks to warm up the lower half and moved on to Squeeze LB Challenge. Burn baby burn is the name of that game! OMG! I said I'd reserve my complete opinion of that work out until I had done it w/o previously exhausting the legs. Well now I can honestly say that this work out rocks! Two thumbs up! YEOWZERS! :D

Lori: OMG LOL! The visual I got of your son bonking you in the head with the piece of wood is just priceless! I was picturing the cartoon stars floating around your head afterwards. :p

Diana: Sorry you aren't feeling 100% today. Don't push too hard and make it worse. Hope you get some things crossed off that to-do list real soon!

Jacque: Perhaps you are not eating enough? Just something to consider. I say go for the intervals on the TM after work. To heck with KM-you can do it again another day! :D

Laura: So did you attempt a leg work out in your jeans? I would think that would be very uncomfortable. Yeah lady, don't complain! I woke up to single digits temps and real feel of BELOW ZERO! :eek:

I am hungrier then usual lately. I am trying to keep my choices clean/healthy but I admit to not always succeeding as I am falling prey to sweets alot lately. I haven't gone over the edge yet like I sometimes do but I am coming dangerously close. :eek:

I am doing okay so far today though....

B: Fiber One cereal/fat free milk
S: Apple/Almonds
L: Turkey/fat free cheese/hummus on lite ww bread, grapes, pria bar
Post work out protein shake: Fat free milk, 1 scoop protein powder

So I got AOS Newport and Firepower delivered this afternoon! WOO HOO! I'm excited to try them. Not sure when I'll fit them in yet though.

Laura - we were posting at the same time this AM ! The sirloin roast sounds good. May just have to play with that one. Wowie you sure got some cold going on there ! Not sure how long I could stand that. Have visited my bro's family in Idaho during the winter a few times but not thinking it was even that cold, perhaps close. I guess the word layer totally comes into play, huh?

And just what were you thinking little missy in trying to do push ups ! :rolleyes: Hope you didn't undo the healing progress you have been making.

Diana - hope you get to feeling better soon. At least you could stay home and don't have to do too much work. A to do list, huh? Mine would take me too long just to make up, let alone cross things off ! :p Someday, when I grow up, I want to be organized ! ;) Sounds like you are just a wee but chillier than we are here - but our sun will be gone soon and we will be cooling off in a few days.:(

Lori - LOL at DS and his little interference with your workout. At least you got part of it completed. The warm bath sounds loverly - with no kids at home any longer I need to use the tub again for some of those long, warm soaks ! And I have to say that in reading your post, after a couple of times, I get what you mean about the "can" and them not being too bad - though if you get my drift, I was thinking of something totally different the first time through ! ;)

Wendy - nice workout and Squeeze it good, huh? So very glad I don't have any motivation to order any more workouts (but did cave on the new Venuto book yesterday) because there are so many good reviews just on our checking, let alone the OD. <<<Hurry STS before I lose my willpower !:p>>>

And I think you may be spot on about the eating (at least I hope I'm not eating enough vs eating too much because I don't think it is too much.). Log log log is what I need to do, that and plan better because I have been caving into carbs too much. Nothing horrible, but bread here and there, LF wheat thins, too many low carb tortillas, etc.

Jacque: Yeah Squeeze is definitely a burner. Light weights on 2 exercises and no weights on the rest but man oh man does it HURT! It's only 30 minutes but I don't think I could handle any more then that! :eek: I think doing BodyStrikes AFTER Squeeze would be the ultimate lower body burner. Gonna have to try it one day since I did it in the reverse order once already. :) One of these days I need to get to get back to logging my food. I "log it" on here but I need to start using fitday or re-join Cathe's nutrtion site. I want to try calorie staggering again to see if I can get these extra stubborn pounds I've gained to go away once and for all! :mad:
