Good Morning Friends! :D

So 'splain me this, ladies....I went out to eat last night with a friend of mine...I ordered what ended up being a delicious but waaaay high cal/high fat meal (I wanted to check online b4 lvg but I ran out of time. :(), and drank 3 coors lights. I got on the scale this morning and it DOWN half a pound! :confused: I'm not complaining, mind you...just miffed! Ofcourse, I AM doing INSANITY so perhaps Pure Hell (heheh) and Resistance is the reason. If so, the last of you hold-outs (Jacque n Jen) will be buying it tmrw I think! ;)

So I am happy to report that I actually lost 2.5 pounds this month! That's the most movement I've seen in AGES and it's made a big difference! Needless to say I am very pleased and hope the changes continue....:cool:

Anyway, I had fun last night. I was with a friend of mine that I don't get to see more then a few times a year on average. We met at a mall that had a Ruby Tuesday's in it. That's where we ate/drank. After that we walked around the mall for a bit. We were heading out to play pool but my friend got a call that his baby girl was sick and his wife was very frazzled. Being the good dad/husband that he is, we cancelled our pool hall plan and he went right home to take care of his family. Gives ya the warm fuzzies, doesn't it? :)

Jacque:: I definitely think we will have to figure out a way to get all of the Damage Controllers together in one place some day. That would be a freakin' BLAST! :D

Lori:: If you think Insanity will distract you from your race training then it would smartest to hold off on purchasing it. It definitely distracted me from finishing up the last 2 weeks of my SS rotation!

Diana:: The first month of the Insanity rotation is all 40 min work outs. Month #2's are an hour. I am hearing that month 2 incorporates more strength work then month 1 so adding upper body may not be necessary. OMG I used to be a nut over balancing my check book. I worked for banks for about 7 years prior to leaving to have DS. I would pull up my account activity at work daily and balance my book. It was so much easier to do rather then waiting til month's end to do it all. When I left my job I lost my motivation for that. I COULD have continued the habit from home since I use online banking but do you think I did? NOPE. I went back to monthly balancing but I forgot a couple times and couldn't get it to balance so I canned it all together. I have not balanced my checkbook in at least 3 years now I think! :eek:

Laura:: Wow that's a large group of friends. I don't think I know that many people that I'd even want to be friends with! LOL Good for you though! I've always kept to myself. I only socialize with a small handful of people directly and then there are others who are friends with my friends who I get along with great but we only hang out together when the common friend is involved. The fit test for Insanity is just a little series of exercises that they want you to do for I think a minute each and count how many reps you can do. The rotation has you do the fit test 3x...once at the very beginning, once in the middle and once at the end...the purpose is to see if/how much you've improved. It's not REQUIRED (I didn't do it) but if you take the time, I'm sure it would be interesting to see the increase in the numbers.

Hey Chicas!! (The prodigy Damage Controller returns....)

Sorry for my absence of late. I decided last minute to take a few days off from work to get the kids prepared for the start of school. This is generally a good thing, but in order for me to do that I had to cram a week's amount of work into two days. I found out when I asked for the time off that I'm scheduled for the creditors meetings next Friday. Losing two days to prepare for them is a pretty big deal, so I needed to make sure I had all time sensitive things off my desk before I left, and start prepping the files I had for next Friday. I was swamped and didn't even get a chance to read our thread, let alone post. Next week is going to be a killer now, because I still have 20 more files to prep before Friday. Each file takes about an hour to go through, so the nose is going to be to the grindstone. That said...I actually love it this way ;)

On top of that, my DS has recently become addicted to Facebook! Everytime I've gotten ten seconds to sit down and get on the computer the past few days, he's hogging it!! Grrr....I'll need to do something about that.

I did manage to get a few things accomplished yesterday, though. Started the day by getting the kids closets purged and organized (big, fat YAY for that :D!!), and then took them out shopping for some new school clothes. Fortunately, they didn't need too many things to start. In fact, my DS really didn't need anything, but we had to get a few new outfits so that he wasn't going back in all the same old stuff. DD needed a lot more than he did due to a recent growth spurt. Last night they went off with their dad for the evening, so then DSO took me shopping and bought me a new dress for a 50th anniversary party we're going to on Saturday. Hopefully this party is fun. It has all the ingredients for fun, because it's dinner on a harbor cruise out of Boston, but there's a tropical storm/hurricane brewing right now that's supposed to find it's way up the coast and clip New England on Saturday night, naturally:rolleyes:. We'll see how this plays out, I guess.

So I'm going to do my best to catch up from this past week that I've missed. Forgive me if I come across as incoherent...but I'm catching up on reading and responding at the same time.

Wendy: My insane little friend, you.... I'm lol'ing at not letting your trip of McD's leak on the OD! I don't blame you, and it'd only be worse if you had an Egg McMuffin(hehe)!! I was chuckling to myself the other day when I made a breakfast of egg whites and chicken sausage...I think I'd be put before a firing squad if too many people knew that. So what rotation will I be doing? Your guess is as good as mine! Actually, I was just thinking that I'm going to do the Push phase of CLX like we talked about, except that I'm going to stick to running for my cardio rather than Chalene's. I'm absolutely addicted to running right now.

Diana: I'm glad to hear you got the trip function working now! I rarely used that function until we started talking about it more on this thread, and now I use it all the time. I love knowing what my calorie burn is for each workout. I saw Gran Torino a few months ago and really like that movie, too. I'm not an Eastwood fan at all, his grittyness annoys me (and kind of reminds me of my ex which explains a lot :confused:), but I thought he was great in that movie. I'm seriously considering buying Insanity soon, but this love of running I have right now might just save my wallet for a few more weeks. Oh, I see you took that bait yourself!! You go, girl!! Can't wait to hear what you have to say about it. Oh boy, this cannot be good for my resistance...

Jacque: LOVE the new avatar!! You're so cute! So when are you going to go Insane? Sounds like a most excellent dinner you prepared for your anniversary! That's doin' it in style. Sorry I made you girls worry!! (But thank you :) <3) I hate when I can't even get in here to read! Serious withdrawals and makes me feel so out of touch. You girls are all the best.

Lori: If you managed to get DH on board for Insanity, what are you waiting for, girl?!? Ohhhh, nevermind....I clicked to yesterday's thread and have my answer. Am I the only one left?

Laura: OK, I see I AM the last one left. Oh boy, you and SIL are going to do Insanity together? That's so cool. When does it arrive?

I know I missed some stuff, but I'll be around more today and this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to keep caught up with you all now. The only good thing about being away from the computer is that I haven't been tempted to buy Insanity! But guess what, the paycheck hits the bank account today...Will I be the next to fall?

I have been keeping up with my workouts, at least. Tuesday morning I went out for my longest run ever which was 7.25 miles. I know that's not crazy long, but it was a huge accomplishment for me. Wednesday I did LIC, and last night I ran 6 miles. I'm hoping to get BM2 in this morning before the day starts and the kids start driving me batty :eek: (oops, did I just type that out loud?)

K, I'm gonna get this baby posted and grab some more java before heading over to the Beachbody site~

Wendy: Woo hoo on more weight loss girl! 2.5 lbs in a month is awesome! Sorry to hear some of your plans got messed up last night, but glad you had a good time anyway. I'm another who hasn't balanced her checkbook in years :eek: I can't be bothered, even though I know I should. When I was married, I was diligent with it in the beginning and for several years. Then I got frustrated and handed it off to DH. He took care of it for years after that and I was happy to leave him to it. Guess I got out of the "habit" and never got back into it. Unfortunately, DSO is just like me...so I don't know how we're going to balance each other out. Maybe we should just hit a large jackpot and never have to think about it again ;) Good plan?

So wait...Lori...you did NOT buy Insanity? Argh...I'm so confused :confused:
 
Good Morning!

The house was nice and quiet this a.m and i got to sleep past 9:30:) Very important! LOL Acutally, when DS woke at 8 I didn't feel to bad and I didn't know if I was going to get back to sleep or not. I was happy when I woke up again...and realized that I fell back to sleep!

Today we were planning on a run outside but I could hear the wind when I was laying in bed. When I looked out the window there were trees blow'in everywhere and there is no way, I am going out and pushing a stroller in this! Forget it! I may wait until tonight b/c the wind usually dies down or I may end up getting on the TM again. I am also going to do disc 29 or 30.

Wendy** Sounds like you had a great time last night. We have been on the go alot lately but I haven't gotten together with really good friends in a while...that is on the agenda soon. My really good friend works opposite of me which sucks. We use to be on the same schedule but then I had to switch over. I still get to see her and talk to her quit often but we can never do things on weekends together anymore.
And.....(cause I don't think you read my post yesterday:(;)) I went ahead and ordered the workouts yesterday. Im looking forward to getting them and i will probably just play around with them on my rest days OR on my shorter run days. As long as I get my hills, intervals and long run in a week, I am fine with that. I only have 2 weeks left to STS so hopefully I can push through that. I will do the rotation after my race and that will lead me into Christmas looking super hot! LOL Wait...how are we suppose to show off our 6 packs in the middle of winter??????

Jen** You have been a busy gal lately. Why is it in order to get anytime off of work, we have piles to do before we leave or piles to do when we get back? What kind of break is that? I have a feeling that I won't be getting a whole lot of time off in the near future....but I always love pay day:) Which is today....should be a nice size check! Let us know what you decide about insanity. I didn't even know it exsisted and if DH hadn't went along with it that I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Not b/c I listen to everything he says....haha...but b/c I do have alot of workouts and half of them I don't even use anymore.

Jacque** Sorry to hear about your pup! That was a pretty hefty bill! We were lucky enough that Chico never cost us much money. I always thought that when he got older, his hips were going to give him trouble (b/c he was a big dog) and we would be back and forth alot. But his hips only started bothering him the last 6 monthes of his life. I still get sad when I think about him. If I think hard enough I can feel his fur and smell him,....he was awesome!!

And I am thinking....b/c of Jens comment on her son on FB...as anyone considered getting off? I have thought about it numerous times but haven't done it yet. The only thing really keeping me there is its easier to post pics and its easier to see pics of my nephew who is away. As for the rest of it, there seems to be all kinds of security issues with it that the canadian govt as brought up and I barely even call my friends anymore. Drop a line on FB, ask them how they are doing and then we don't chat for another 3 weeks.

And another thing...so when you keeping ordering workouts...do you ever get rid of some of your other ones. Most of the older cathe workouts I have are on VHS so they would be pointless to sell on ebay ( i think) but i never ever touch the BB series but I know as soon as I sell them or give them away, I will pick a rotation using them....

Anyway...thats it from moi! Im not real sure what my plans are today, other then working out. I won't be spending much time outside today b/c on top of the wind...I think its cold out.

Wendy-Nice job on the weightloss! Well the 40 min w/o's are sounding good, especially for work days. I think I will do the fit test, just so I know where I'm at. I finally weighed today an haven't lost anything. At least I haven't gained either. I have a scale phobia that I need to get over. OMG, I HAVE TO balance my checkbook everymonth...to the penny. Speaking of banking, have you considered going back to that? Maybe you could get a part time gig. I don't think I would like working with the public much. I'm not very social either; I have a few close friends and prefer smaller groups to larger. DH however is a social butterfly and has tons of friends. He's the life of the party guy.

Jen-Glad you could pop in for a few. We are in the middle of the boys changing bedrooms and are doing a lot of purging in the process. It's amazing to see how much stuff the boys have packed in their rooms. Actually, I'm really enjoying the GWF now that I now how it works. :p I do find it encouraging to help me reach my step count and calorie target. I just wish I was losing some weights here. TBH, I think I've been getting too few cals, in the 1100-1300 range and I think its hurting me instead of helping me. I should be taking in 1650 cals.

Back to report that the first 2 sections of BM2 are done, and I'll get back to the upper body section tonight or tomorrow morning :) I got a phone call from a gf who has been trying to get a hold of me for a couple weeks now just as I was starting the upper body section. I took it because we work opposing hours and it's so hard to catch up. Sooo....upper body later.

Lori: Pretty sure I'll be getting Insanity. The girl I was just on the phone with has it and loves it. I think she was the final convincing I needed. The kids keep wanting me to make a FB but I've been on the fence about it, mostly because I hear so many people say how it really brings people "out of the woodwork", so to speak, and do I really want to hear from people I purposely haven't spoken to in years :p I don't know about that yet. But I didn't realize there are security issues with it. I'll have to look into that.

Diana: The GWF hasn't necessarily helped me lose weight because I've really been slacking in my diet, but it has certainly helped me NOT gain weight while I'm really slacking in my diet!! It keeps me moving and it lets me know where my cals need to be in order to maintain, so on a day where I indulge, I don't feel too bad and like I've undone hard work because I know at least I'm at maintenance level and not a surplus. For that, it's been great. And I know that when I finally find the discipline to buckle down in the diet department that this will be a great tool. I'm still very happy with the purchase. Oh, I agree that it's amazing to see how much these kids can hoard! We got it a little better under control now...just in time for school to start and for them to start hoarding more crap :rolleyes: The battle never ends.

Quickie for me this AM - want to get to work early in case I need to take off to the vet. Workout today is a 45 min interval run - will be on the TM as it will be at least mid 90's today.

Wendy - WOW on the 2.5 lbs. Way to go. I'd keep the eating/drinking from last night a secret so you don't jinx yourself girl ! :p

Jen - thanks for checking in. Well sounds like good/bad few days for you - nice to get the kids together before they start school but I know the feeling of having to work hard (or many times extra unpaid hours for me) to take some time off. Hope it all works out well. Good job on the run the other day and yesterday. Those are some pretty good miles and quite a long time running. You are definitely improving your endurance - great job ! I haven't gotten Insanity yet - want to, just not enough yet I guess. Probably won't take long since sounds like everyone will be posting Insanity here soon ! :eek:

Lori - Yea for a good night's sleep and quiet house this AM. Hope the weather cooperates with your workout today. By the way, I think there are some really cute Mrs. Santa outfits out there that would show off your six pack at Christmas time ! ;)

Diana - LOL at you shouldn't be here . . . me either but ya know how addicting it is ! I have to say I agree with you that you should try to eat more than you are now - bet the 1650 would still be a pretty good deficit for you. It does get scary though, I know.

Hey Laura ! ! ! How was class last night? SIL have your Insanity rotation all planned out yet?

last night's plyo class was a great one ... another guy came .. :eek: .. poor thing thought he was gonna pass out ... kinda scared me .. he turned blood red .. then white .. then red .. then white again :confused: .. he told me after class I tried to kill him . . but he could not fuss b/c he was warned :p what can I say my reputation preceeds me :eek::eek: .. but I did leave in a sweaty mess!!!!:D

Wendy ... woohoo on the CABS and ## lost .. is that what I can look forward to w/INSANITY ??? BRING ON BABY ....:D:D .. oh and my girls .. believe me .. we weeded thru LOTS of bad ones before getting this group of best friends together .. I have known most of them for 20 years or better .. but the core group .. any one of those ladies I would trust w/my life .. and believe me I DO consider myself LUCKY.. that kind of friendship is rare . . and we all know it!!! It helps that they all are STRONG women .. confident women .. no drama queens!!

Jacque .. what did I miss on your dog?? Hope everything is ok .. My big baby has to have surgery WED .. I will be a nervous wreck I did NOT want to put him under anesthesia .. b/c he is almost 8 .. and that is old for his breed.. :( ... I pray my big baby will be fine .. he is have a tumor cut from in between his toes (called it a TAG not really a tumor .. but it is big) .. he has a knot under his skin on his kneck that is gonna be cut out ... and a cherry tumor on his face .. my poor baby .. I just PRAY he is gonna come thru just fine!!

I just dont have time .. although I know people who are addicted to it .. they track their every move on it .. seems crazy to me!! why??? I just dont get it .. but I am like you checking in every now and again is why I keep it ..

Okay, I put it off long enough...

I went to work, ate lunch, played on the computer, napped, ate 50 times (LOL), cleaned the house, did some laundry, cleaned more of the house, did more laundry, and ate one last time and now...FINALLY...I *think* I am ready to take on none other then...

PURE CARDIO!!!!!! *and the crowd goes wild*

LMAO!

Ok I did it. It's done. I got through it. YAY! I didn't even take breaks! I modified a bit as needed in order to push through without taking rests. Me happy. :D Ended up adding on abs (TJ Ab Jam floor portion only). Had abs on tap for tmrw originally but decided to do them today instead. Tmrw is already packed with an insanity work out AND upper body! YIKES! :eek:

Gotta go grab some food!

Jen Jen Jen....Why am I not surprised? ;):D:) You are gonna love the torture just as much I do. I just know you will! When's your delivery ETA and will you be starting a rotation right away or just playing around at first? DETAILS please! :D

Heheh...I suspect everybody will be as "shocked" as you, Wendy!!

No ETA yet, but I'm thinking I'll be doing the full rotation, FULL commitment, diet and everything :eek: Yep, I'm scared.
