Hi Ladies,

Starting the new months' thread for us. I did a BR w/o that was an hour and 15 minutes yesterday. This w/o just never gets any easier. Then I followed that up with STS SBT! I'm really focusing on what I'm eating to help get the scale moving in the right direction.

Today I'm doing a superbowl 5k, but had been hoping it would be cancelled. It is not. It is currently 9 degrees and we have 6" of snow. The sun is starting to show so hopefully it will warm up.

DH is having some friends over to watch the Broncos smash the Seahawks tonight!!! Anyone else have any superbowl plans.

Wendy-Is Joey going to be sporting his Peyton Jersey and rooting my home team on tonight????

This was Saturday's work out...:eek: Y'day was a rest day.

TT Week 1 Day 3 Bodyweight Workout # 11

Bodyweight Supersets

superset #1
Do the following superset 3 times, resting for 30 secs between supersets. Then move onto
superset 2.

1A Lateral Jump + Push-Up-20 reps (10 jumps per side each with a push-up)
1B Bodysaw-15 reps

superset #2
Do the following superset 3 times, resting for 30 secs between supersets. Then move to superset 3.

1A Split Squat with Front Foot Elevated-15 reps per side
1B Elevated Pushups-8 reps per side

superset #3
Do the following superset 3 times, resting for 30 seconds between supersets.

1A 1-Leg Deadlift-15 reps per side
1B Mountain Climber-20 reps per side

Then I did this....

optional abs Workout # 3

The metabolic abs Density Circuit

Do the following circuit as many times as possible in 10 minutes, resting only when needed...

1A Chinup w/Knee-up (5)
1B Alternating Lateral Lunge (10/side)
1C Stability Ball Jackknife Pushup Combo (10)
1D Jumping Jacks (20)
1E Side Plank w/Leg Raise (5/side)

ETA--OMG I did the wrong work out! I did day 3 of week 11 not 1! No wonder why it was so much harder! LOL Oh well, I will wear it as a badge of honor and move on...but I am not skipping the work out I was supposed to do either! I'll do it on Monday! :)

ETA #2--OMG OMG I did the wrong work out for Day 2 as well! LMAO!

This is what I did this morning and what the 2nd TT work out really looks like! :p

TT 19 min body weight work out:

8@10/20 of low box jumps but I subbed in squat jumps...
4@10/20 of TRX rows but I subbed in inverted rows
4@10/20 of spiderman push ups
8@10/20 of body weight squats
8@10/20 of planks
6@10/20 of jumping jacks

Di:: Yes, Joey wore his jersey and I think all but one person at the party we went to last night was rooting for the Broncos. What a horrible game!

Hi Ladies,

I did HIIT 40/20 this morning! Normally I do DWP because I'm afraid of tripping on my step in the morning. It was a nice change and fit my short workout time this morning.

Wendy-OMG, the game totally sucked. Seriously, they made it to the Superbowl and don't know the snap count! UGH It started of bad and never got any better. How are you liking TT? You are rocking those workouts!

Hello Ladies. :)

I have been working out every other day and loving it but with the weather forecast for tmrw morning I am thinking I will need to leave some extra commuting time. That being said, I worked out this morning instead and trmw will be a rest day.

I didn't do work out #3 but instead an "extra optional" work out that is paired up with #3 in the rotation. I will do #3 by itself on Thursday.

So what I did today is this::

(Optional) Bodyweight Workout - Bodyweight Cardio:

jumping jacks (40 reps)
run in place (40 reps per leg/80 total)
push ups #1(20 reps) - split up push ups into two segments b/c 40 in one shot is too much for me to do without taking a million breaks and doing having terrible form.
skater hops(20 per leg/40 total),
bodyweight squats (40 reps)
x-body mountain climbers(20 per leg/40 total),
side to side jumps(20 per leg/40 total),
push ups #2 (20 reps)
40 seal jumps-did not do b/c IDK what they are and they forgot to do them in the video! LOL
walking lunges(20 per leg/40 total),
split shuffles(20 per leg/40 total)

Then I did it again after a one minute rest but I did half of the original rep count....:cool:

Di:: OMG I am always afraid of tripping on my step whenever there is jumping involved on it. I especially HATE box jumps for that reason! I am in love with the TT work outs so far! I'm so happy I purchased them! They are also excellent go-to work outs for being out of town!:)
 
Hi Ladies,

I took an impromptu day off just because I need a day off. I'm going to work more on our taxes, clean out my closet and dresser a bit, laundry, and do some filing etc.

I made it to class last night after missing both classes last week. It was an okay class. We had to use the stability discs and I don't like them. The circuits were good though except for the disc stuff. This morning I did BR Challenge day 16 (1:14), and then tacked on Disc 35-Plyo Legs and the extended stretch. I feel great!:D Only 2 more discs to finish up STS!

We had to do our "biometric screening" for our health insurance yesterday. BP-91/70, HR-64, cholesterol-193, HDL-83, Glucose-86. All those numbers are very good. The only negative...but it has improved...is my BMI. I have moved from the obese category into the overweight category so I'm moving in the right direction. My BMI needs to go 2.1 to fall into the normal range. I'm not a fan of the BMI.

Wendy-I can't believe you are only working out every other day and like it. What did you do with the real Wendy???:p Your workout today looks very similar to the BR challenge w/o's. I'm sick of the snow...and the cold, high of 9 today and 5 tomorrow, and negative digits overnight. UGH

Laura-Where are you??? What are you up to???

Di:: LMAO. I know I know. I am wondering what this "imposter me" did with the "real me" as well! :p My recent injuries scared me into it is really what it comes down to but the fact that I am actually LIKING working out only every other day is unbelievable to me as well!:eek: So why don't you like the balance discs? Balance/stability trainingis important. You should learn to like it. (Listen to me. I am a trainer now! LOL :p ) I know BMI is still used as a gauge in some cases from from a personal standpoint please do not put much weight in a BMI measurement. It isn't accurate. It does not account for your actual body composition and that is more important just like it's also more important then what the scale says!!! You are doing fantastic and I know that you will reach your goal but do it b/c it's what you want, not because some stupid obsolete system of measuring a healthy body says you should. Okay? :)

sorry been MIA AGAIN!! .. man .. work has me SLAMMED .. this is literally the first spare minute/second i have had ... short handed first of the month .. I dont see where these people come from!!! GEESH ... and they are getting the bills that are result of the frigid and unusualy low temps we have had and BOY they ARE NOT HAPPY :confused::confused::confused: talk about some mad people!!!

We went to the FL house to check things out over the weekend .. NO workouts to report .. nothing but enhalation of calories .. food and CABS :eek::eek::eek: ...MON I did cathe legs/abs and last night did p90x3 mma ... today hoping to get in heavy weights at lunch (I have not got full lunch hour in a week) ... and maybe tonight ZWOW 365 challenge ... or combat HIIT.. the toe HURTS to put wieght on it .. but I have eaten too much and slacked off too much gotta suck it up!

DI - bBBBBBRRRRRRRRR .. we finally warmed up a little bit ... congrats on your weight loss .. keep it up!!! :)

Today's work out was the TT 10 Minute Bodyweight Workout::

4@10/20 of Total Body Extensions then Push Ups then Jumping Jacks then Mountain Climbers then of Body Weight Squat then DONE! :D

Decided to work out this morning on a whim even though it would normally be a rest day. I didn't do a TT work out though. I decided to do 3 of my own interval conditioning circuits...

Pyramid Up One Arm Kettlebell Swings - 8@10/20
Alternating One Arm Front DB Squat - 8@10/20
Alternating One Arm DB Squat Press - 8@15/15

Back to TT this weekend!:)
 
So I worked out y'day for the third day in a row, Diana!

It was back to TT for me...Week 2 Day 1::

Bodyweight Workout # 4
The Big 12 Circuit:
Do the following circuit 3 times, resting one minute between circuits....
1A Close-Stance Bodyweight Squat 15 reps
1B Close-Grip Push-Up 10 reps
1C Jumping Jacks 20 reps
1D Reverse Lunge 10 reps per side
1E Inchworm 6 reps
1F Run in Place 20 secs
1G Mountain Climbers 20 reps
1H Total Body Extension 8 reps
1I Calf Jump 10 reps (didn't watch video so IDK what this is. subbed in squat jumps)
1J Reaching Lunge 8 reps per side (not sure on this one either so I did what I thought it could be.lol.)
1K Decline Push-Up 12 reps on upside down bosu
1L Run in Place 20 secs

then

Optional Bodyweight Workout # 12
The punisher:
Do the following exercise 8 times, resting as little as possible.
Close-Stance Bodyweight Squat 20 seconds/10 second squat hold
 
Hi Ladies.

So I decided to do some version of a detox style eating plan to help me shed some weight and body fat. I'm start today so I had to get on the scale and measure my BF this morning. UGH. Let's just say that staying off the scale may be great for my mental state b/c "ignorance is bliss" but I DEFINITELY benefit physically from seeing the number on a regular basis. I won't go back to daily weighing if I can help it but I NEED TO USE THE SCALE. I am disgusted w/myself right now! Both numbers are the highest that they have been in years! :eek:

I'm almost done with STS, one disc left-C&B. Not sure when I will do it, but I can't not finish STS by one disc. Saturday I did a long BR w/o-1:18. I intended on doing an STS disc after that but I was beat. I love the BR challenge from last year. This is my 3rd time through and it's still kicking my butt.

I still need to figure what I'm going to do for the next couple months before tri-training starts. The aquatic conditioning class starts in March and it gives me a couple extra days of swim practice.

The 21 day cleanse started yesterday for me! The food is really good, it's all the prep that's tough. I don't mind though. The cleanse I'm doing calls for what you have for dinner today, you also have for lunch tomorrow. It's easy to double up for the next day.

Wendy-that's the Wendy I know! Sorry about the scale and BF%. I'm sure you will have it under control in no time. One of the guys who started the cleanse a week ago has already lost 10#'s. That never happened for me, I was more in the 4-5# range for the whole thing.

So I did the next TT work out this morning but I left the paper at home and it's too much to remember so I'll have to post it later. It was a goody though! :)

Di:: So I had the day 1 smoothie this morning but I had to alter it a bit. No chia seeds here so I used flax instead and I didn't put any cilantro in it b/c I don't like that stuff. YUCK! It was the lamest smoothie ever! :p But I drank it anyway!;) I am eating the carrot and ginger soup for lunch as we speak...not bad. I have a small piece of plain chicken to eat as well for some extra protein and bit more to "chew". Everyone is different as far as how their body will react to these detoxes as well as anything else we do. My studio got some awesome results but there was a wide range of results in there. Astonishingly enough, the person who lost the largest percentage of body fat appeared to be the leanest one in the whole damn place so this I do not understand. :confused:

Hi Ladies,

I didn't workout this morning, but did make it to class tonight. The instructor is kicking it up a notch this week, which makes me happy. I'm sure it's a difficult class to run because everyone is at different fitness levels. We did some stairs and some running...:)

I think I will set up my equipment for my last STS workout. It's C&B and I just have such a hard time moving the bar on off the stand. I used 86# last week and it's a struggle for me. If I set it up tonight then it will be ready for me in the morning.

Wendy-Their non-detox smoothies are much better IMO. I didn't see cilantro listed in the day 1 smoothie. They say you can sub parsley for cilantro, but parsley does not have the metal chelating properties that cilantro has. They say to try half cilantro/half parsley. I had the carrot/ginger soup for dinner tonight and will be having it again for lunch tomorrow. Hhhmm, I wouldn't have thought the leanest person would have been the one with largest percentage of bodyfat lost either. I guess I would've expected it to be from someone who was overweight/heavier to start with and lost weight during the cleanse.

Day one of a new eating plan is behind me and it was a success. I feel good about it. Just hope I can keep it going. :)

I was on the fence about working out this morning but then I woke up sore and sleepy so I decided to roll back over and call it a rest day.:)

Di:: The name of the day 1 smooth is the cleansing cilantro green smoothie. Are you sure we are looking at the same cleanse? LOL I wanted to try the day 2 smoothie this morning. It sounded better but I didn't have enough time to prep it so I made my own. I also didn't have time to cook again beyond y'day's lunch but tonight I am going to pick a few recipes from both programs to make so that I have food for the week. I'm not working tonight which is unusual so I better take advantage of the extra time! Your last STS work out? YAY! Nice job completing the rotation AGAIN!:D IDT I have ever completed any rotation more then once! :eek:
 
Hi Ladies,

DH and I were both awake at 4am. He is sick with a cold & gout, and I was too hot. I had cranked up the heat on my side of the bed when we in sub zero temps, well I haven't turned it back down. I took me a bit to wake up this morning, so I did HIIT DWP which is my go to when I'm short on time.

I hope to tackle C&B tonight and be done with the STS rotation. I'm looking at doing Cathe's January rotation next. I need something to follow right now, later I'll just wing it when my tri-training starts.

Wendy-I'm wondering if I sent you the current cleanse docs. I'll double check tonight. I was starving yesterday afternoon and had a protein shake. I walked, drank 3 cups of tea etc trying to take my mind off being hungry. I finally caved and had protein shake. Glad I did or I would've been dead for class. Today I brough clementines to eat if I get hungry, the are cleanse approved!

Hey Ladies ..

I cant get a break at work .. we are SLAMMED .. still short handed and we have had first of the month traffic now for 10 days in a row .. YIKES! I swear I have been on verge of tears here lately .. nonstop high bill complaints ..nonstop traffic .. cant get MY work done .. impossible!! :(

This weekend was gorgeous .. I did manage a good run w/Brutus ... and then did triometrics .. which was NOT the workout to do after a trail run :confused: eeeeeouch on the hammies and butt!! SUN was rest day - MON I tried triometrics again on strong legs not weak ones .. and it was much better but still set them on FIHYAH!!!

Wendy - I need a detox but would fear for my sanity at this point .. I can feel some extra fluff on me .. but the scale was "ok" .. just above my usual weight .. I need to lose 5# to be back to where i need to be! and 10# to be where I WANT to be .. LOL (never happen)

Di - my dh is sick too .. MAN HE IS SICK!!! coughing up green gunk!! I have banished him to the extra bedroom and quarantined him .. we have not touched in 7 days ... poor guy .. has had a fever for 7 days in a row!! Dr called in different kind of antibiotics .. hope this round works for him ..and hoping I dont get that crud .. yuck!!

so tonight is a ZWOW .. ZWOW 34 ... 3 rounds of weights jump squats, bent over rows, walking lunges, and plank pulls .. we may go on and go for 4 rounds .. supposed to be 20 minutes .. 4 shoudll round it on out to a 30 min workout! ;) ok .. better run . ahvea great one!!

No work out for me today. I was on the fence about it but when my alarm went off this morning and I woke up pretty sore and still sleepy, I rolled over and called it a rest day!

Di:: I made the roasted cauliflower from last year's cleanse that you sent me to have with chicken for dinner tonight. YUM! Then I made the cucumber celery & avocado soup to eat this week with/for lunch/dinner. Again - YUM! Last but definitely not least I made the Brainful Green Smoothie to have for breakfast the next 2 mornings. It kicks the other smoothie's azz! YUMMMMMY! :D I haven't had a chance to open up the current cleanse info you sent me but I will! Thank you! Prepping the food ahead is time consuming and can be a pain but it is fun for me when I am making a new recipe. I also love not having to worry about what I will throw together to bring to work for lunch/dinner every day! I just grab and go! My job is doing a "Spring Break Challenge" soon. I will have 28 more recipes to play with! Woot!:D

Laura:: I feel your pain re: work. I WAS in tears on Friday! I broke down on my boss b/c the pressure was just too much already! UGH. I feel better now that we talked and actually the day before they made the decision to hire someone to do my old job...FINALLY! So hearing that took a HUGE load off my mind! I hope things improve for you! Hey, are you in the path of this terrible ice storm they are talking about hitting the south?? :eek:

40 reps of close grip push ups
100 alternating reps of ices katers
40 alternating reps of mountain climbers
30 reps of prisoner squats
20 reps of Inverted Rows (again)
