Damage Control December

Back to report that STS Disc 25-Chest & Back is complete. I'm too wiped out for anything else right now. Time to do some laundry and take down the tree. bbl

I ended up doing Bootcamp with the bicep muscle meltdown yesterday. Honestly, the regular workout was enough without the blast! I've only done one blast so far-on the Rock Em, Sock Em dvd. I need to do wash today, Diana!

Hi Ladies,

I have today and tomorrow off as part of the Christmas holiday. The tree is put away!!! This morning I did BR Day 9 and STS disc 26-Plyo Legs. I did modify, but my knee is definitely starting to feel better. There are some moves I can't do, but I was able to do the majority and modified where necessary...like jumping on to the bench (no risers)...its a start.

Beth-nice job with bootcamp...I can't wait for my knee to heal up as this one looks like it could become a favorite! It seems to be that the rest times are more frequent and longer with this intermediate series. From what I've seen, the workouts themselves don't really seem intermediate. Just my opinion.

What's everyone else up to???

bbl

Diana, I can't believe your tree is away already!! Glad to hear your knee is starting to feel better!

Beth, I'm looking forward to trying the new workouts, do you have a favorite yet?

I did 14 min of RWH CUB no blasts, and today I did RWH CLB scrambled express. I spent some time trying to get some baby stuff online to sell and crossing my fingers! Quiet week this week for us, no sports or plans. Except I'm hoping Hubby's cousin and family of 9 will be coming for NYE. But it doesn't look good....

Yesterday I ended up just doing a walk. DH is having major foot issues :( so I have to go it alone these days. We are using the Xmas money from my parents to join the gym in town-it's got a pool, some weights, treadmills, and ellipticals. He is going stir crazy doing nothing. He did do the bicep meltdown with me on Sunday but his form is so bad. I tell him to watch Cathe, but he still moves his arms all over the place for curls. Oh well....can't teach an old....new tricks, right?! He plans to tread water, do the elliptical, and maybe some weight machines. All I will do is water for cross training/rehab as needed.

I can't believe the tree is away already, Diana! I'm waiting until this next weekend. The family tragedy continues at work (now a funeral), so I picked up 8 hours of overtime this week. Glad you got some days off for the holidays after all the travel and long work days!

LL, you will love the the ice premixes-should fit any amount of time you have! I'm hoping to do the Chiseled Lower Body today with Icy core 2, which I haven't tried yet.

Beth

Hi Ladies,

Today was STS disc 26-Shoulders/Bi's/Tri's and ICE Rock'm Sock'm Kickbox and Icy Core 1. I did my best with the kickbox but there was a lot I couldn't do. I'm off to drop of another donation...trying to purge as much as possible before the end of the year! Next stop is Costco...not looking forward to that expense.

I signed up for the transformation and ab challenges. The transformation challenge is to improve body composition. The goal will be to decrease body fat% and increase muscle.

It was no big deal to take the down the tree since it was never decorated anyway. LOL It's a fake pre-lit tree so it looked pretty even without any decorations.

Beth-Sorry to hear your DH is having foot problems, I feel for him. I'm sure his form will improve with time. If you have a mirror in your workout that would work great too. I may be adding a mirror to my w/o area soon. I hope you enjoy your new gym membership. Many years ago I worked out at the gym mostly for weights. I love the squat rack and being able to lift heavy for legs and I also loved the bench with barbell. Other than that, I quickly discovered that my Cathe cardio w/o's gave me a better w/o than the gym. Hopefully your DH will meet some other retirees at the gym.

LL-Enjoy the peacefulness while you can!

Waving hello to Tina!

Just finished RWH Plyo 1 abs 1 and decided to check out an ICE wo! I did just bands premix of the mat DVD, can't remember what it's called. So 36 min with RWH and 18 or so with ICE to the mat only bands.

Gotta say I'm getting kinda sick of the RWH circuit workouts... CLB is on for today and I did it 2 days ago! Maybe I'll just do the strength exercises. I'm half tempted to swap out another lower body workout....but I really want to finish this rotation. Tomorrow is RWH CUB! Then I have LIHI Legs, CUB, CLB, Low Impact and CLB to finish the rotation. I try to mix it up doing different premises...month 1 had no circuit wo and I wanted them but this seems like a whole lot. I may have to swap out some with the LIHI. Not sure yet.

We finished week two of Meso three last night. In the a.m. I've been trying out the ICE workouts, and I must say they have far exceeded my expectations. Yesterday was BCC and the first half of TTM and this morning was CLBB and the second half of TTM. I'm really loving the BB's and think they will be great add on's to weight days. Most of them are around the same time as X10 segments. The only workout I have left to try is CUB. DH and I are both loving the two new ab workouts. It snowed all day yesterday and it's that nasty heavy stuff that you can't even shovel, so we'll be on the trainer for the next week or so. I did manage to get out and go sliding with my niece today, super fast snow! :)

Diana, another challenge? That's awesome! It sounds like a great motivator! I hear you on the house purge. I need to unload a few truck loads.

Beth, sorry to hear about DH's foot problem. Both my DH and my DF have both had issues this year with their feet. I hope it heals soon.

LL, how is your son doing? I hope things are looking better.

Off to clean, I've been so lazy lately in the housework dept. :(

Hi Ladies,

It was back to work for me today. I was supposed to have an 8am meeting, but it ended up being cancelled. Had I known that, I would've done my w/o this morning. Oh well, I got in a 30 min BR w/o, day 10.

DS1's girlfriend is in town this week and we are all having dinner at my MIL's tonight so we can see her. She is a lovely gal and her daughter is just darling. I'm not sure if I mentioned that she is 6 or 7 years older than my son and her daughter is 10 or 11. She moved to San Diego last summer to get her 2nd masters degree. They have been trying to make it work and seems to be going well for them. DS1 plans to move out there this summer. I think he should wait 1 more year until she is done with school.

LL-switch up the workouts if you are not looking forward to doing them. Just pick something similar and go with it.

Tina-I'm just ready to start week 2, probably tomorrow. The Blizzard Blasts look awesome but unfortunately I can't do them with my injury. I was able to do most of the Plyo work, but had to sub front lunges for side lunges. I did do one set of front lunges without weight. We are having frigid temps too. It should warm up into the 40's this weekend and melt the snow.

Beth-what are you up to?

bbl

Diana, you are so good at modifying! I would not have thought to Chang lunges the way you did, if at all! Maybe I will change up to a diff circuit instead of RWH CUB for tomorrow. Recommendations?? I don't even know all those wo from the letters!

Tina, B is so so, belly aches are random, not sure the diet helped or not. Thanks for asking. I think it might be good for weight loss for me to do the DF/GF with him starting Monday for 4 weeks. I lost all my Disney weight on those 2.5 weeks that I didn't it before, I've gained it back over Christmas. [emoji31]

Hi all! Massive work schedule this week. I'm now done until next Tuesday though-Happy New Year! Tuesday I did Ice Chisel Lower Body and Abs 2-first time for those abs. Wed. was a marathon work day so took it as rest. Right now I'm off to start the Ice rotation -I'm doing level 3-so it's the kickbox workout with triceps and abs 1-I think! What are you all doing for New Year's Eve? We're having a nice dinner with DS2, DS1 is at work.

Beth

Did RWH CUB plus abs one! More fun than I remember!

We are low key this year. I'm headed to a party 30 min away with Little K and possibly B. I doubt Hubby will come because he won't want to leave the other boys alone, plus 2 cousins, age 14 and 16. Or maybe he will, I'll ask. I only plan staying for a couple of hours for Little K to see his friend. They have 5 kids! All 8 and under!

Happy New Year!
