Damage Control December....Thursday

Hi Girls.

Happy Friday Eve! :D

Diana: I started with a 15# bell but you lift heavier then I do so you MIGHT prefer starting with an 18 or 20. Best thing is to go to a store and swing them a bit to see what you think will work for you before you buy. You can always return it though if it's too light. I'd suggest buying your first in a physical store though so you don't have to pay to mail it back if it's too light!

Jacque: Safe travel vibes comin' your way!

Ang: OMG, LMAO at your 73 mins with out eating anything comment!:D:D:D Too funny girl! Thanks for the water reminder. I need to up my water anyway so this should give me the push I need! Good luck with the Wii! He should have purchased one waaaay ealier.

The rotation calls for ctx upper body and abs from something for today. I am off today though so definately want to run. I'll head to the gym once I drop the little guy off at school. If I am up for weight work later, fine, if not, then I'll start the final week of the rotation tmrw. Yes, that's right ladies, I said FINAL! That'll be TWO...count 'em TWO rotations I'll have completed IN FULL and BACK TO BACK! WHOA! WAHOO! YAY!:D:p

BBL babes.

Pre work out breakfast: 1 banana & protein shake with 8 oz ff milk and 1/2 scoop pwdr.

Getting ready to head out the door with DS and then head to the gym. Plan to do a 60 minute Itread today.
I'll post when I get back. Hopefully I won't be talking to myself by that point! :p

Later Babes!:)

Good Morning Ladies,

My buns are sore this morning. I'm sure it's from the hip lifts w/45lb plate I did yesterday. I also did some much needed weighted ab work yesterday too.

This morning is 4ds CST (2 times). I have my weigh in today and I'm not looking forward to it. I haven't tracked at all this past week:mad: I do much better at the scale when I track my food.

Angie-Yep, I read your post!! IA w/Wendy, 73 minutes without eating comment is pretty funny. I feel the same way. One of the reasons I try to work out at lunch is so I don't overeat.

Wendy-thanks for the KB info. I'm going to call a couple of used sports equipment stores and see if they any. Another rotation almost done-way to go Wendy. Are you going to hold off for STS before starting another rotation???

Mornin' Jacque, Laura, Jen ((((hugs)))), Dee Dee, Shirl.

Hi Girls.

Diana: Nope, not waitin' for STS. I'm just going to continue on with my next rotation plan and worry about STS when it actually arrives on my doorstep!:D I will probably see out one final rotation and then begin STS after that. I will need the time to wrap my mind around a 3 month rotation committment. I haven't done it since the X back in January 07! I'm practicing by doing three 1 month long rotations in a row. ;) Yay for a sore bumb. Having toilet seat issues? :) My legs are still way sore from my kb work out. I need to give my inner thighs a good stretch.

So I ran to the tune of an ITread and knocked out 5.31 miles this morning. Felt good. My goal is to run 5 miles 3x per week minimum until my official mary training starts. :D

Post Work Out breakfast or snack or whatever ya wanna call it. LOL: An ounces glass of ff chocolate milk + mini ww bagel with natural p/b and flax seed on it.

Gosh, I'm so worried about poor Jen. I can't believe it. I'm still in shock. I hope she can get back online soon to let us know what happened! :(

Well, that's all for now....BBL though!

Morning Ladies

Well CleanMax to the MAX is done! :D took me till 10:30 last night .. but laundry is done .. put up .. floors cleaned .. dog beds cleaned.. presents sorted AND wrapped .. even got DH gifts done for his crew (patting myself on my back) ... I feel MUCH more better now!! :D I hate the feeling of something on my back and a dirty house is a nerve racker for me!!

The eats: DH had put a roast in the crock pot .. OMG when I got home it smelled sooooooo good .. I ate a bit more that regular .. but it was a sirloin roast .. carrotts .. potatoes .. tomatoes ..celery .. onion .. mmm mmm mmm ... DELISH ... I didnt give into the temptation to add bread (but man would it have been good) I did have a couple of CABS .. so where my food is so so .. my CAB consumption is a total FAILURE .. LOL .. but alas I am not beating myself up about it .. again .. will find that damned wagon in January!! :p

Wendy .. as good as you eat and exercise I dont think splurging last night is going to affect you at all .. hey you needed energy for shopping right??? LOL and KUDOS for TWO rotations .. woohooo .. I am impressed!!!

Di ... good luck on the weigh in .. 4DS TWICE .. YOWZA .. that should help!! LOL ... I actually had more presents than I thought when I got to sorting .. so my list has actually SHRUNK .. and man I am happy about that!!!

Ang . . I read your posts .. you may be blowing the food .. but I am blowing the CABS .. I am with you the Holidays are so stressfull .. and there are not enough hours in the day to get things done .. shop .. wrap . .parties to attend .. exchange gifts .. etc .. so we can both give ourselves a break .. UNTIL JANUARY .. then it is Damage Control X2!!! :)

Jacque .. our weather broke records yesterday and today is supposed to be hotter .. I am in a sleevless top and sandles today  WTH??? IN DECEMBER??? I had to TURN ON THE AIR last night  I was sweating bullets doing cleanmax and could not take it .. it is not only hot .. but dreary and HUMID .. seems more like August .. but Monday the cold front is finally going to move down and we are to turn cold again .. 29 Mon. night ... I like Christmas to be cold ... YOUR in the 40's ???? WOW that is strange ... we are having insane weather huh??

Jen .. {{{hugs }}} {{{{ positive - healing vibes}}}}

Hello to DeeDee and Shirl .... hope you girls are getting ready for Santa Clause!!:)

OK .. so today's plan is to call or go by the gym at lunch to see if the dang music works ... IF NOT .. uuummmmm I can either wing a floor/matt class and be stressed out . . or say screw it and tell them I will be back when the music works b/c you can not do group cardio w/o music .. wish me luck!!!

Have a GREAT day ... and great sweaty workouts .. I will BBL to check in w/ya'll!! :D

Laura: Yay for accomplishing cleanmax! Not fun to do but one heck of a great feeling when it's all done! :D No, one cheat meal never hurt me-even I can admit that! LOL It's piling cheat meal on top of cheat meal too quickly that hurts me. I'm keepin my fingers crossed for your music situation at work! ITA that a group fitness class is about the darned music!!!!

Lunch: Turkey, cheese, hummus on lite ww bread. lf cottage cheese with raspberries.

Snack that I am eating as I type this: kashi go lean cereal with ff milk and blueberries on top.

Dinner: I am at the mercy of my mom this evening but will try to practice portion control!

Hiya Damage Controllers

Today was shop max so the eats were pretty good, although I need to squeeze some veges in there sometime today. I found a Wii for my uncle. He is a lucky guy. Walmart got 42 of em in last night and had 10 left when I was there this morning. I also lucked out and found Sorry Sliders.....have been looking for that game without luck for 2 weeks. I think I am done shopping. I want to get the boys some really good snow pants and boots, but will have to drag them with me for that and, of coarse, they don't want that for Christmas.

Oh happy day!! I just ordered KW Empire State and Providence.:D Now I will have something new to work on while I wait for STS. I can't wait to start kettlebellin. For any of you that are on the verge.....all 12 days of Christmas specials are available again today until midnight.

Wendy - You sound like you are in total control of your eats today. At least you don't have to worry about cooking dinner tonight.:D
2 rotations in a row?? Oh my! What is this world coming to??;) *lol*
Any ideas on what you are going to do next?

Diana - You're lucky that you can workout during your lunch. That's awesome. How's your new/old job going?
I too do much better when I log my eats. I have given up on that for now but will be getting back to that soon. It's amazing how much less I eat when I have to put it into the computer.

Laura - So glad you had some time to get the cleaning done. I get so stressed when the house is a mess. It's such a relief to get it whipped back into shape....even though it doesn't last long.
Mmmmmmm crock pot roast is the best! Yummy!!
You had the air conditioner on?? I'm staring out the window of a foot of snow on the railing. *lol* Plus, we're supposed to get hit with another snow storm tonight and tomorrow. We've had 44 inches of snow already this year and winter doesn't even start until Sunday. What's up with that?
I sure hope they get the music system fixed for you. You've worked there for a long time haven't you? Who broke it??

Jen - Hope you are relaxin and takin it easy. More healing vibes comin at ya.

OK - I gotta get changed and go do 4DS bootcamp today I think it is. I guess I'll figure it out when I get down there.

Angie

Hi to the rest of you girls.

OK .. so I could not get the gym to answer my calls .. so I went down there on my break .. drum roll please ........ they have not even attempted to fix the @#%!@#$%@#$%#$% stereo system. What was worse the owner was there .. and she is a total DITZ w/NO people skills .. so I show her what it is doing .. tried to explain the workings of what happens when someone tries MAX OUT the volume .. she says all this BS about it was not the speakers .. it was something electrical :mad: then attemps to get the speaker wire out and splice it :mad::mad::mad: .. while I am trying to tell her I am on my break .. I will cancel class and start new after the first .. "oh but I want you to teach tonight":confused::confused:

{{ throwing my hands up in the air .. shouting WTF }} OK .. so I tell her to call my cell phone and tell me if it is fixed ...

wanna bet I get no calls .. I will show up and the stereo will not be fixed .. and I will have a classroom full of people I HAVE TO ANSWER TO .. it infuriates me!!!

Ang .. these are NEW owners .. that dont "get it" ... and have no customer service skills whatsoever. I have had nothing but problems since they took over ... and they will not take responsibility for anything messed up .. aaahhhhhh ....

I am taking the next two weeks off ... going to do some soul searching .. weigh the pros and cons .. and decide whether I can continue to teach under their management. {{ sigh }}

Hiya Girlies!!

Wanted to pop in while I had a chance. I'm at my mom's right now who just got her power restored today, after six+ days without it , and who has actual internet access, YAY!! My house has power right now, thank God, but no cable or internet so that's yucky, but not the worst thing in the world. (However, it would be a valuable source on entertainment for this house-bound invalid right now ;))

So here's the down and dirty on this most recent debacle in my life:

Two weeks ago yesterday, BF and I went out for dinner after work. I ordered steak tips and all was well until about half way through the meal. I started feeling these really weird pains in my stomach, and just could not get comfortable. I turned to BF and said I thought I must have some really bad gas or something, and that I was going out to the car to walk around a bit while he took care of the check. So I did, and while I was out there the pain just got worse, and alas, no gas. He rushed me home, and I sent him immediately to the pharmacy for something that might help me while I ran into the bathroom. At this point, I was starting to think that the steak tips must have been bad and I had gotten food poisoning. However, even after getting sick, I was getting no relief from the pain. BF was back in about 10 minutes, and when he came in I was drencehed in sweat, curled in the fetal position in my bed and unable to move. He asked if I wanted to go to the hospital, and I told him to call 911. (Best move of my life!!)

I live about two minutes off the center of town, so the ambulance was there in less time than that. It took them about 20 minutes to get me to the emergency room, where I then had to wait about 2 hours until I finally got someone to realize that I hadn't been vomiting or had diarrhea, so they're/my initial assumption that it might be food poisoning was probably way off. An x-ray, cat scan, and three additional hours finally revealed that I was experiencing something called cecal volvulous, which meant that the beginning portion of my large intestine had twisted on itself  On top of that, I had these adhesions of scar tissue resulting from a hysterectomy I had nine years ago (almost to the day) that had grown out of control. One of the adhesions ran along side the intestine, and when it twisted, the adhesion had wrapped around the intestine, thereby strangling it and causing portions of the intestinal tissue to die!

So, at four in the morning on December 5th, they opened me up and removed about three feet of both my small and large intestine (about 1.5 feet of each). The doctor chose not to reconnect them at that time, because he feared that to do so might jeopardize the healthy tissue and render it impossible for me to ever be reconnected. Instead, he left me with an iliostomy for now, which means I have a bag (ugh!!!), but it's only temporary for about 3-6 months. When he feels I've recovered fully, he'll go back in and reconnect all my tubes, and I'll be back to normal. I'm pushing for the shorter end of the time span rather than the later. I think it's likely going to happen in April.

I'm still very sore, but gaining energy every day. I'm out of work until mid-January sometime, as right now I can't drive or even climb stairs. So once I get internet back you'll all be seeing a lot of me here. I have to live vicariously through you until I get the clear to exercise again.

The whole things sounds pretty horrible, I know, and I have to admit that it was the most painful thing I've experienced in my entire life, without a doubt. But it's not getting me down. My spirits are high, and I'm fully aware and greatful for how incredibly lucky/blessed I have been through this. It really could have been so much worse.

Thank you all for your healing vibes and support. I swear to God and I feel them all, and they're helping me on my way back to health.

I am totally ticked that I've got to abandon the rotation I was doing before this happened  I was having so much fun with it! But the only brightside to this whole thing is that I don't have a need to diet anymore, 'cuz I lost the extra weight I had been carrying and then some. :D I weighed in at 118.5 yesterday. That's about 12 pounds in two weeks. Not a diet I would recommend, though :p I do have to stick to a low fiber/low residue diet though, which means that I have to stay away from all uncooked vegetables, fruit, nuts, anything with skin or lots of fiber...I have to eat white bread and white potatoes....basically, every nutritional principle that I've learned and applied over the past few years I've have to abandon for the next few months. Go figure

Oh yeah, and as if that's not all bad enough, the night I got home from the hospital (which was a seven day stay, woo hoo ***sarcasm***), our area, as you probably know, was hit with a severe ice storm that knocked out power to one million residents throughout the New England region. It literally looked like a war zone here with all the trees and power lines down. I cannot even explain it. But my dad bought a generator, so I stayed with my parents for five days on their couch until I finally got my power restored. It was a little inconvenient, but likely a blessing in disguise, because mom took really good care of me. :)

So I'm reading our thread everyday, but it's so hard to post from my phone that I'll likely be away for a few days until my cable is back. Keep your fingers crossed that it's back sooner rather than later!!

Thank you all again for your concern and support, and I'll BBS to catch up with you all.

Take care,

Jen

OMG Jen!! I'm am in awe of your past week. My jaw hit the floor when I read about what all happened to you. I am so darned impressed with your attitude and resilience.:) And then, to have the ice storm on top of it all? So are the kids staying with your folks too? What about the pup? You are so very lucky to have such supportive parents. I am blessed with folks like that too. I'll bet your parents were thrilled to have you stay. They must have been so worried about you.
You are right. Things could've been really bad. Very smart of you to have your friend call 911. I can't believe you had to wait that long in the ER before they actually DID something. A 4am surgery?? Yikes!
Wow! Lost 12 pounds?? IA, probably not the best way to go about it eh? *lol* I'm sure the diet change is going to be strange to say the least, but it could be fun. A no guilt diet for 2009 for you!!;)
So very glad to hear you are getting your strength back and are on the mend. Thank goodness!!! I wish I could give you a big (((hug))). I'm so inspired by all you have conquered. You go girl! I wish it was under different circumstances, but am looking forward to chatting with you more.

Laura - The owners must be really new huh? It doesn't sound like they will be at it for much longer if that's the way they handle things. Ya just can't teach people skills.....IMO either you have it or you don't. People can tell if you are not sincere and don't really care about anything but the bottom line. So if that's all the new owners are in it for, it will probably be a short journey.
Is there anywhere close that you could teach if you decide to throw in the towel there? So sorry you even have to consider it.....you obviously love teaching that class.:( Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out for the best.
I'm gonna have a CAB in your honor tonight. Cheers!!

Later gators

Angie

Hey Ladies,

I only had time for one round of 4ds CST this morning so I did it again tonight! Not ideal I know, but at least its done now. My shoulders and triceps were trembling tonight.

Jen-I'm so sorry for everything you are going through. You do seem to have a bright attitude though and hopefully that will help you heal faster.

Angie-thanks for the KB w/o info. I'm going to check that out right now. I'll probably have some kb w/o before I have any kettlebells! I think I need to check walmart for a few of my gifts that seem to sold out elsewhere.

Laura-sorry about the speakers. I guess the new owner has never taken a group class and doesn't understand how important the music is. I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks as well. I'm hoping to get in a lot of workouts and play with grandbaby girlies for the 4 days they will be here.

Lunch was a lean cuisine and an orange, snack was a ww 2pt bar and dinner was smothered burrito (small lo carb tortilla, 93% lean ground beef, 1/4C homemade pork green chile)NO CHEESE. I'm snacking on chocolate chips though:mad:

Have a good evening ladies.

Hey Ladies,

I blame all of you for the enabling!!!:)
I just purchased Kettlebell Way, Providence and Newport as well Chalean Extreme! I guess all I need for Christmas is some kettlebells. I'll let DH know to look at the used sporting goods stores.

Time to get the kitchen and laundry taken care....
