Hi Ladies,

Well it's time to start the new months thread. Seems like I'm the only one getting here in the mornings now.

Yesterday I went for a 3 mile run and it was ugly. As soon as I started out my feet, lower back and shoulder were hurting. It got a bit better during the middle of the run. My intentions was a 4 mile run it just wan't working out for me. I think I'll do CLB today and call the Xtrain Rotation done! I have a make-up ViPR class tonight.

I had a wonderful Easter yesterday and hope you all did to.

BBL to post my w/o and see what everyone else is up to.
 
Mon - and APRIL FOOLS DAY

Morning Ladies...

It is INSANE here .. good gosh!! where do these FOOLS come from :p ;) :p first of month - Had a great weekend .. busy one .. and STILL NO exercise to report (hoping to get back to normal now).. we were on the road all day SAT .. then SUN I had no time . we had a nice family day tho .. was really nice!! DM, DN and I fished .. then we hid eggs ..then we sat and chatted .. played w/the pup ./.. . it was nice!! DH cooked some WONDERFUL shrimp last night MMM MMM MMM ... and we had fresh oysters from the Gulf .. mmm mmm mm!!!

Di - well at least Jarred found our early .. and if he is just PREdiabetic he CAN change it w/correcting his diet ... and hey .. a diet made for diabetic is prbly the best diet anyone can get on to get healthy and lose weight .. I saw the pics of your knees from your biking incident .. yikes!!! girl!!!! be careful out there!!!

Lori - and I saw your pic of the Easter eggs in the snow .. Your Easter Bunny must be one tuff bunny!!! LOL ...

Wendy - glad you have been working out for me .. you have been doing some good workouts lately!!!

OK .. it has taken like 4 hours to type this .. better run .. . we are slammed ... have a great one!!
 
Hi Girls:)

Tonight's workout was GS C&T and TTM. It kicked my arse!! I'm gonna be so sore tomorrow!!! TTM started to hurt from the beginning b/c my legs are still tired from those runs. And I went heavy with the weight work as well. I think I've only ever done TTM once before. I also went higher with the step and had 4 risers underneath.

So the dog is on his way:D My parents left for the city today and they fly out on Friday morning. She said he was good on the drive in and when he got to my brothers house he was right at home and the girls love him. He is a very friendly dog, I knew he'd do well with the kids. I'm just glad he's not yapping his head off like normally does and stressing everyone out.

Wendy** hope you enjoyed your workout tonight!!

Diana** lol at your ugly run. We've all been there. Somedays are better then others. I get stitches a lot lately. Sometimes if you take a break it helps regroup.

Laura** the lady next door hid the eggs in the snow. She also gave us a bunny each, as if we needed more chocolate here:confused:. I have a feeling that I will be making cookies in the future!!

Last night's small group class at the PT Studio was awesome! It's a timed circuit routine that you go through several times and he changes it up 3x during the course of the work out. Good stuff! I'm sore! :D

Good Morning!

I added the cathe app to my phone. Lets see how it works. Right now it looks like I'm posting in Wendy's message.

Just stopping in to say good morning. I woke up a little earlier then normal and there was no point in going back to sleep. I'm a little sore from last night but it usually gets worse as the day progresses. But my day will consist of lots of protein so it might not be that bad. Tonight I'm going to do the rest of the GS UB's and cardio. I may even run outside.

Wendy** sounds like you enjoyed last nights class. I'm suppose to be training a couple of girls and they were both on vaca last week. I think just gonna do a trial run. I don't think I have enough time in my day and now that I have my own work load at work, I can see me needing to feel like I have to punch a few hours there just to get my stuff done!

Just emailed my mom to see how the dog was last night. I'm so excited!

We also took the van out yesterday. I think we are getting it. Also the promotion this month was a free trip to Vegas! Airfare and hotel :). 3-4 days I think! Can't wait!!!

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I ended up doing Combat's Lower Body Lean Out. I was surprised there wasn't any weights in it at all, more plyometric and cardio based.

I've decided to do Cathe's April rotation for now. I just need something to follow for a while until Tri Training starts. Even then, I would still like to have something planned for the mornings. Today starts with Intensity. I haven't been stepping for quite a while, we'll see how my knee feels today.

I missed ViPR last night because I met one of my friends at the rec ctr to get us signed up for the Brawler. It's a scavenger hunt and you run and bike to the different activities. We get clues and have to run or bike ride and perform an activity. The first thing we had to do last year was run from our home base to the bowling alley and one of us had to bowl a strike, then we got some kind of headwear made of balloons indicating we had completed that activity and run back to home base to get the next clue. It was a ton of fun. We have a team of 4.

Lori-I've been missing the GS w/o's and since I just finished Xtrain, I may swap out some of the Xtrain for GS, just for some variety. Yay, your parents and dog will be there soon! TTM is one of my favorites, I love the TTM Extreme premix! Wow, a full time job, taking care of a family...and taking on training clients...well that sounds like a lot. It might be easier in the summer. Hope you like your new van!

Wendy-your training class sounds similar to our bootcamps, spring fitness challenge and Holiday meltdown sessions. I love the variety. How do you like the JNL w/o's? I read they don't have a warmup included, is that bothersome?

Laura-glad you had a wonderful weekend with your family. Jerod has time to turn it around, but it is very hard to change a teenagers diet. It doesn't help that neither of his brothers had to do this. He feels like he's being punished. I try to tell that he only gets this one body and it's up to him to take care of it.

Jacque-where are you lady..oh yeah, I think you mentioned you were going on a trip to a nephews wedding. Hope you are having a great time.

TG-I bet you spoiled all your grandkids on Easter!!! I didn't even get to talk to my gd's. I may have to have a chat with their mom as I would like a phone call every major Holiday, especially if I sent them gifts.

Morning ladies ..

ystdy was a nightmare .. I am back at my desk and playing catch up today!! I did manage a workout :eek: ok .. pick yourself up after you fainted .. i did combat live 60 w/weighted gloves.. DOMS: back and shoulders! Brutus was on a dang tear last night - GEESH - OMG - :eek: - OK - this KINDER GENTLY BS TRAINGING is NOT getting it w/this pup - I am going back to the way i trained Buster and Toots .. b/c he thinks this "distracting" when he is doing something wrong .. is nothing more than a game .. and he comes back worse .. well last night .. he got his first Laura Puppy Time OUT :mad: a forced sit/stay in between my legs/feet until he was calm and could behave!! he is a cocky little devil!! all these KINDER gentler training books say a pup his age wont explore far by himself - WRONG - say he will undertand when you stop playing w.him he has done wrong . WRONG .. say he understands confinement - WRONG ... LOL!!!

Di - I think i am totally off the step for a while .. and have been .. and my knee thanks me!! it has made a HUGE differnce!! Yes tell Jarred we have only ONE body .. ONE chance to get it right .. and he is young .. correct it now .. it isnt punishment ... it is a fact of life!! At least the whole family can eat like this now right?? that will make it easier!!

Lori - congrats on getting closer to having your dog home .. so did you win the promotion?? the Vegas trip???? woohooo if you did!!!

Wendy -the PT workouts sounds AWESOME!!! wow!!

Tonight's workout was GS bics and shoulders, tabatise 1-4 and a bit of supercuts. I'm pretty sore from last night, even my back...which I didn't work:eek:

Work was pretty good today, I feel like I got a lot done. The morning flew by, afternoon not so much:confused:. Right now the office is a mess cause they are putting together more desk so I don't have my official spot yet.

Diana** I haven't done a cathe rotation is such a long time. I was actually on the body building website reading some info on diet and exercise. I've upped my protein a bit and added egg whites to my breakfast. Use to be just oatmeal with flax. Anyway there are lots of good recipes on the site.

Laura** lol....poor pup! They do what they want..just like babies:rolleyes: I'm to old for that stuff now;)

Good Morning Ladies,

Well the rotation calls for burn sets CSB, but I'm subbing one of the GS UB w/o's. I need some variety after finishing 12 weeks of Xtrain.

Today is my first PT (physical therapy) :D appt for my knee. Another appt has already been scheduled for Friday. Hopefully he can give me some things to work on and help determine the root of the problem.

Lori-I'm guessing you're talking about bodybuilding.com. They have a ton of information, it is a great site. That is were I got the Jamie Eason 12 week program....that I haven't done yet. I notice using fitday that my body responds best to 40/40/20 or 35/35/30 Proteins/Carbs/Fat. The balance of proteins and carbs seems to work best for me. My breakfast of late has been 1/3 C oatmeal, 1 scoop prot powder, 1tbsp flax, 1tbsp chia, 3/4C almond/coconut milk....sometimes I add fruit. I don't cook the oatmeal though. It's pretty filling and I like getting in some protein after weights.

Morning ladies ..

It is getting crazy in here .. third of the month - on the counter and the flood gates have opened!! :confused: I managed HEAVY WEIGHTS at lunch AND Supercuts after work :eek::eek: DOMS: Butt - back - core - arms :eek: :D

Lori - yup that is what me and DH and Toots are thinking we are TOO OLD for this stuff .. LOLOL .. but he is precious .. did better ystdy!! (knock on wood) I love the supercuts workout - it goes by so fast ... so did you get the Vegas trip???

DI- I still think the root of your knee problem is gonna be stepping - thinkking an overuse injury!!! but maybe the PT sessions will help!!

Wendy - what is on tap for today?????

So I did JNL Bicep Builder. Kiss My Abs, 3 Burpees and TF Stretch 10 y'day morning. Good stuff! The JNL work out also targets chest-lots of push ups!!!!

Last night I spent some time at the gym talking about selling and doing some role playing. Going back Thurs and/or Sat for more sales practice and to p/u my internship p/w so I can send it off-he forgot to fill it out in time for last night. :rolleyes: It's not a big deal to me but if he wants to get me working then he's holding that up for himself! :p

No work out for me this morning. I slept in knowing that I am going to the PT Studio tonight where I will undoubtedly get my azz whooped again! :D

I spent some time this morning on that PT website that I joined. Awesome stuff!

Laura:: OMG heavy weights AND supercuts!?! You must be FRIED! Nice work! :eek: Yeah the work outs at the PT studio are not what I am used to but they are awesome! He does very little single muscle group exercises. Almost everything works multiple muscles as well as hitting on strength/ endurance and cardio all at once! FUN!:)

Di:: If you have a good therapist, I hear that PT is wonderfully effective! I hope it works for you! I am loving JNL so far. Nope-no warm up and the cool down is about 30 secs. I'd rather have them if I had a choice but I just do it myself-no big deal. If I ever don't feel like thinking, I can just use another instructor's w/u and/or c/d...like doing TF's Stretch 10 y'day...It worked! :)

I can't figure out how to check in from my phone without adding the above post to it. And I'm to lazy to go downstairs and get the iPad! It's almost 11:30!

I'm not feeling these late cardio workouts. I do it but am not thrilled about it. I just haven't been in the mood, then I pick something and its still not what I want to do. I ended up doing GS back, (backs still sore!) HR abs (abs are still sore) the. DWP, and most of 30/30 before it started skipping and the leg work of HR.

I don't know if we are leaving for the city tomorrow after work or first thing Friday morning. Seems like a long haul for the kids, the baby in particular. DH and I haven't seen each other enough to make a choice.

Diana** I've been having egg whites for breakfast and I've been staying fuller longer. Yesterday morning I had cream of wheat with flax with it but today I wasn't hungry enough. I was reading the plan Jamie created the other day, I was tempted to try it but she suggest no cardio for the first month and you know I won't fare well with that. Then I thought about hopping on in to phase 2. I haven't rules it out yet but I should get these Easter treats out of the house first!

Laura** I'm laughing at Toots! She must be like "WTF are you guys thinking bringing that thing around". She was enjoying having you to herself. Hope work slowed down for you!! Yep we got the trip. We also got a better van cause the one we were gonna buy, was backed into:eek:. So the only other one they had was more expensive but we got it for the same price. Maybe my luck is changing! Lol.

Hi Ladies,

I'm sore from ViPR last night, glutes & hamstrings, and my back and neck are sore which I think is from the PT. Not sure though but that's the only thing I did differently and its on the same side as my bad knee.

The diagnosis is Distal IT Band Friction Syndrome. Its a common overuse injury in runners mainly. Funny, cuz I don't run that much. He thinks I may have a small meniscus tear also but they can heal on their own. If it's completely torn surgery is required but mine obviously is not. I have PT 3X/week for 3 weeks then 1X/week for 3 weeks. In addition, I've been given stretches and foam rolling to be done twice per day, about 30 minutes in total.

Lori-Congrats on the new van, fun fun! Don't forget to have a little bit of carbs with your egg whites. You will be going to pick up your parents, right?? Wow, you spend well over an hour on your evening w/o's. Maybe you should take a couple nights off and then try getting back into your w/o's.

Wendy-most of the classes at the gym are as you said, compound and circuit like with cardio thrown in. That's why I like the variety of being able to use Cathe at home, but still take classes at the gym. I always used the CCC warm up prior to BR'ing!

Laura-I'm sure Brutus will be in line in couple more weeks. It's a transition period for all of you. I forgot to mention, my Physical Therapist was a guy from the Spring Fitness Challenge at the rec ctr. We already knew each other. He did say most injuries heal faster if you stop all activity, but that's just not possible for athletes so we make exercise modifications and use PT to heal the injury without sidelining the athlete. (He called me an athlete!:D) He did mention the HM in May is probably not a good idea. He said to look for one in August or later. Oh, he said the tri-training is fine and the short runs...no more than 5 miles...and I'm only at 3. Until I can run pain free for 3 miles, no increasing the mileage.

Morning Ladies ..

It is raining here .. dreary day!!! I still have major DOMS shoulders, butt, and back from heavy weights/supercuts - did combat Plyo HiiT last night - then went home and had puppy bootcamp and to my surprise TOOTS was the one acting like a pup ..she was jumping and playing and fetching .. it was amazing .. I havent ever seen her act like that ..me and Brutus were shocked :eek: she wore herself and Brutus out .. soooo had a good night last night .. but this morning was like a CIRCUS at my house .. geesh .. :confused::confused::confused::confused: .. no wonder I never had kids .. I would have had to quit work . . bc i cant get nothing done w/a puppy (and a dh in the way) .. geesh!!

Lori - I know you are getting excited ... congrats on scoring a better van .. WTG .. AND a trip to vegas .. woohoo!!!!!!

Di - OVERUSE injury .. thought so!!! well sounds like the PT session went well then . . and OF COURSE you are an athlete ... not many people do triathlons - or half marathons silly girl!!!!

Wendy - YES Brutus gave me the puppy eyes puppy sad face .. like "where is my friend" when he got his puppy time out .. it is pittiful .. I can even look at him .. LOL!!!

Today is a rest day for me.

Last night's work out was a goody! Planks, push ups, balls, ropes, cable machine, dumbells, kettlebells and the list goes on! I swear the man is trying to kill me! ;) I go back on Saturday morning for a small group training class. Last night was one on one. :)

Tonight I am headed back to the gym to go over sales techniques some more and hopefully he'll have my internship paperwork ready for me. Fingers crossed! :p

Laura:: LOL re not getting anything done with the animals and men in the way! I hear you! :p Sounds like Toots had fun with her new little partner in crime last night! I take it she is starting to accept him now? :)

Diana:: You must've been beaming at being called an athlete...and rightfully so too! You deserve it! The trainer at the PT studio doesn't believe in doing much of any single body part training. He's always training more then one muscle group at a time which is different from what goes on at the gym but yet both believe that when it comes to separate cardio work outs that less is more. And then you have Cathe who obviously believes in separate cardio work outs whole-heartedly! I'm so confused!:confused:

Lori:: As you can see above, I DID get my butt kicked again and loved it! :D Have a safe trip to pick up your family!

Hi Ladies,

So I did HardStrikes which I don't really find that hard, except that she just never stops. I used my 1# weighted gloves and that helped some.

Wendy-I was very happy to be called an Athlete!!!:p:D Most of Xtrain and Low Impact are more circuit based. Other than BodyPump, all the classes I take are circuit and compound in nature. It all depends on your goals. Glad you got your butt kicked last night...it's nice to mix it up!!! You will be a great PT!!! Once you submit your paperwork to you get your PT Certification?? That is awesome, I'm so proud of you!!!

Laura-Life with puppy....:D You are all doing great. Definitely sounds like Toots comin' around. Personally, I think my injury is from folding my leg underneath me when I sit. That is when it hurt the most, well unfolding and getting up. I love my stand up workstation. The foam rolling that I'm supposed to work up to 1-2 minutes, well....only about 10-15 seconds as the pain is unbearable. The PT said that is very common but to keep working on it.

Di:: You are right-Cathe doesn't let up in Hard Strikes! I didn't choose a premix the last time I did it and was just going to pick an early stopping point b/c I was short on time but it was hard to do b/c she just keeps going and going and going....!!! LOL Thanks re the congrats and being proud. I really appreciate the vote of confidence but I'd save that for after I actually GET and TRAIN my first client! :p

Tonight's workout was hard strikes (just like Diana). At first I didn't want to do anything but then I knew I wouldn't get anything in tomorrow and Saturday might also be a write off so I thought about it and decided to give HS a go again and I was in the mood for it. I thought it was longer though. For some reason I thought there were combos after the cardio section....guess I was getting it confused with all the other kickboxing workouts. Anyways, it was just what I needed.

Diana** what's the verdict on your tri? Did he say no running until its healed? I was thinking the same as you. Even though I've been taking more rest days then in the past, I think my body is needing one. When I'm not in the mood to do anything, then something is usually up.

Laura** I feel your pain!! Every morning the baby wakes when my alarm goes off. If I can get out of the shower and dried off before having to deal with him then I'm good. But most mornings, he's around my feet, wanting to get up with me. This morning when my coffee kicked in:eek: I had two of them in the bathroom with me and I'm like "reallllly"! I just want to use the bathroom in peace and quiet!

Wendy** guess you did get your butt kicked:eek:

So we are leaving early in the morning, around 8. It's suppose to snow tomorrow so I am going to pack our bags just in case we decide to stay the night b/c of the weather. We will also see how the kids are doing. If its gonna be to much for the baby then we will probably stay and come back on Saturday. We will all be beat after that. My parents have to get use to the 3 hour time dif!

Hi Ladies,

The rotation call for Cardio Leg Blast, my legs are still too sore from ViPR and need a bit more rest. I'm going to do GS C&B instead though. For this first week of the April rotation I'm subbing GS, and may stay with GS for a few weeks.

I was looking online for a speed camp for Jerod, to work on quickness off the line. I found a good one, but it is $360 for 6 weeks, 2 days per week. I've contacted another gym since that is quite pricey for my pocket book.

Wendy-I'm doing the burpee challenge too. I've been doing partial burpees (no pushup) but ending with a tuck jump! You will have clients I'm sure, no worries.

Lori-Is the baby still in the room with you? I need a few minutes to myself to get ready, but totally know what it's like to have 2 kids in the bathroom with you.:) The PT was all for the tri training since it's several different activities. He advised against the HM since I'm currently only running 3 miles and increasing my mileage will cause additional pain and set back the healing process. The running segment of the first triathlon is only 2 miles, the Mini Haha. Hopefully by the second Tri in August my knee will be feeling much better.
