WED - hump day

Morning Ladies ..

well my legs are sore - ran 5 1/2 miles ystdy on already HEAVY and tired legs .. I thought at one point I was not gonna make it .. was not a FUN run .. but it was an accomplishment to make it and have a good time - just under 60 min (inlcuding warm up and cool down) ..

OK all this marry talk - HOW do you build your endurance up to go THAT long .. I am thinking 8 miles is about TOPS for me .. dont see me doing any more than that .... ???

Wendy - waht running shoes are you going with? so are you gonna train for a 1/2 or full marry??? again . HOW????? not that I would EVER do that .. dont ever see me doing that! LOL .. but would like to know HOW .. to TEST myself maybe!

Di - SOOOO SORRY about your step mom - that is hard news to take - {{{hugs }}} .. but it does sound like it may have been peacefull in her sleep!!

Lori - hope you get some sleep tonight ... again HOW do you train for your marrys??? curiosity killed the cat - I KNOW - but I always like a challenge!!

OK .. I am in another office .. we are sloooooow . and I am bored ... HUGE change of pace for me ...OK .. have a great one!
 
Lunch workout done!

So I did Xfactor workout .. been a while .. it was harder than I remember .. FOR LUNCH workout .. but my legs are plenty sore!! have a feeling my abs will be joining them in the DOMS tmrw!! But now I have afternoon free to spend w/DH and my babies - it is a gorgeous day and think a nice long golf cart ride in the woods is due!! :cool:
 
Hi Girls,

Last night was a much better night, hoping for the same tonight. He hasn't slept much today....:confused: Finally did my workout around 4 p.m. I did AB and 30 mins on the TM.

Diana** Sorry to hear about your step moms passing. Will you have to travel for the funeral?

Wendy** Soooo...what new sneaks did you get?? I don't think you should join me in spirit fr the next mary....why not in person? Airfare shouldn't be that much from Jersey to Ottawa:eek:

Laura** My speed was already good so I just had to work on my endurance.Its a gradual process, adding more mileage each week and going at a much slower pace, it wasn't that bad actually. In the meantime, there is a half here at the end of May and I'm considering doing it BUT I don't know if I can get my mileage up in a month. Plus I am competitive regardless of the fact that I just had a baby....stupid I know!;)

Good Morning Ladies. :)

I am sore! I think DOMS has managed to touch every muscle in my body just a little bit. :eek:

So I did sneaker shopping and lunch with my mom y'day. I got Saucony Progrid Ride 4's. I used to run in Mizuno's so I tried them on too but I liked the Saucony better. My mom got off ez price wise...they were only $99.99 unlike the gold plated $200 pair that Lori bought! :p Hey, btw, did you ever decide to return them? :eek:

Last night's run was good. I was kinda tired from doing f/b weights earlier and running around all afternoon with mom. I also snuck in a haircut before the gym too! By the time we got to the gym it was atleast 5 if not later...I pressed play on the first 20 min Itrain on my Ipod. I forgot how much I enjoy those work outs! Total time on the TM was 30 minutes with w/u and cool down. Good stuff and my knees feel great this morning! :D

So I am continuing to investigate career possibilities...For sh*ts n giggles I priced out the A.A.S. degree at our community college where I would go for Med Lab Tech...Tuition would be roughly $9-10g if I am figuring it out right and then I still have to buy books, etc. :eek: I mentioned it to DH assuming he wouldn't be a fan of the idea b/c of the price tag but he actually didn't say no! He mentioned the possibility of getting a student loan for it since it's not an obscene amount of $ that we would be able to pay back after I graduate no problem and it would keep us from having to lay out the cash up front....So now I know he's likely behind me...just gonna keep looking for a little while longer before making a final decision...:D:eek:

Lori:: LOL at the cost to fly to Ottowa. I know about high airline prices b/c DH and I wanted to do Vegas next month and the airline prices are untouchable right now! :eek: Could we drive to Ottowa?? ;)

Laura:: I trained for both halfs and my 18 miler with the guidance of an online training program. Runners world, Hal Higdon and others publish training schedules for all types of distances and experience levels online for FREE! :D Good job on the 5.5 miler! If you can run 8 miles then you can do an HM! Only 5.1 miles left to go!!! Piece of cake! :)

Diana:: The HR woman at my previous job is the one who told me I was being let go! I do NOT want to have to do that!!!!:eek:

Good Morning Ladies,

Taking the time out to check in early, while sipping my coffee. Just like the good 'ole days! Last night was an o.k night. I thought I was in for it when he woke up before 2 and again at 4 but then his longest stretch was after that he and let me sleep until 8:46!:D So all in all, it wasn't that bad of a night. I may even feel better today b/c my longest sleep was at the end and not in the beginning.

I think I am pretty much sore everywhere today. I think tues's workout and yesterday's workout caught up to me. I also did GS chest and back yesterday....forgot to mention that. I really enjoyed AB yesterday. I think I will do another workout like that this week. Im leaning towards just a run and abs today, not sure when I will do it. I have training this morning and then both kids are home after lunch.

Wendy** DH returned those sneakers a little while ago....LOL. I still need another pair though. I like having a indoor pair and outdoor pair. Are you excited about the possibility of a new career??? I think I would be. I seriously don't know what I am going to do if we move. And of course it all depends on where we are. The cost of child care may be more then what I will make! If we stay here I will probably go back to my old job b/c I only work part time and I could probably establish more of a PT career. Although it seems like forever since I wrote that exam! I probably have it all forgotten!!!! I need a refresher! I guess time will tell! Hopefully you will choose something that you will enjoy cause ya know we are getting to old to keep changing careers all the time;)

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all your well wishes and hugs. You guys are the best!

We were able to get every thing done yesterday and scheduled the service for tomorrow. My aunt and I pretty much agreed on most things which is good.

Not sure what my morning workout will be today. I really should do GS BSB, but my shoulders are still pretty sore...perhaps back and biceps. Although I really feel like doing cardio...decisions...decisions.

I'll be cleaning the house a bit today and washing bedding. One of my aunts is going to stay will us tonight and mayber tomorrow night too. I'm picking her up at the airport today and am not sure when she's flying back.

Laura-there are tons of free training programs online, I followed Hal Higdon's training program. You can do it, I'm sure of it.

Wendy-glad you are enjoying getting back into running...me too. I'm not a fan of treadmill running at all, but if it gets you back in the game...go for it.

Lori-get your winks when you can missy. I want to come to Ottawa too! Do they offer a HM also? Maybe Laura and I could do that and cheer the two of you on for the full mary!

morning ladies -

EEEOUCH - my arse hurts!! :eek: yes xfactor made my rear end sore!! when i attempt AB or AT .. AKA: CATHE again I am gonna be TOAST!!!! this afternoon is a run!!! I had a NICE afternoon w/DH and the furbabies .. we rode the golf cart - then sat poolside w/some CABS - it was really nice! He was smoking some chickens and turkey .. it smelled AWESOME out!!! the sun was setting and a cool breeze blowing .. nice way to end a hectic day! :cool:

Wendy - Mizuno and Saucony are my fav running shoes too!!! I am currently hooked on Mizuno .. but Saucony is my 2nd choice! WTG~~ and congrats on DH backing you and the possible career path!! Sounds like a good direction to go in!

Lori - IDK If I can build up endurance to go that kind of distance - I have a problem w/my legs go a certain speed no matter .. like i cant tell them to slow down .. LOL .. and I hear ya on the competition thing .. i used to race .. and that is MAIN reason I dont anymore - I get too competitive and usually end up hurling at the end!!

DI - glad the arrangements are made sounds like it went ok as it could! again ((((( hugs ))))) ok .. you and Wendy both say to look into that online program .. I am gonna give it a search today!!

OK . today we have a retirement reception for my friend that retired - she is gonna get teary!! She has been gone 2 weeks - and looks 10 years younger already!!! LOL .. must be nice!

Still no workout to report. I was debating running when DD came home from school but its very windy out there:confused: I know I shouldn't be such a baby:eek: We will see what happens.

Diana** Oh...wouldn't that be awesome if we all went to Ottawa and ran!!! Its a race weekend so they offer 5k,10k and family run on Saturday evening and then Sunday is HM and FM. It is a very nice weekend. I think its at the end of May. The lady who owns the preschool DS attends emailed me the other day and wanted to know if I was going this year:confused: Im not sure if she forgot I had a baby or she thinks I am wonder women. She nuts anyway. She is in her mid to late 40's, only started marathons a few years ago and has done 16 or more and she does them back to back. She keeps her distance up and does one long run a month. So she is doing one in Kentucky soon, going to Jamica to relax and then running Ottawa!
Hopefully the next few days won't be to hard on you!!! How old was your step mom? Also glad everyone is in agreement.

Laura** I had difficulty slowing down when I was training but I had too. I use to run 20 something km at my normal pace, and I would either crash....or be on the toilet all evening:rolleyes: I think I lost my speed when training though cause my runs after were a lot slower, but then I picked the pace up once I stopped training for the marys. So your hoping to look younger after retirement?;)

The baby is still napping. Been napping since 11 or so....look out when he wakes! Oh, I also took my measurments this morning. I only have 2.5" in my waist to go and 1.5" in my hips:D I think once my waist wittles I will feel back to normal but for good reason its the last to shrink. It was quite large 3 months ago!

I ended up doing BM2 Cardio Blast. I got interruped by a phone call...normally I wouldn't pick up the phone during my w/o but due to the circumstances it was a necessary evil. At any rate I paused the DVD and finished the w/o!

Lori-you seem like wonder woman to me! Just for giggles I looked at the airfare from Denver to Ottawa...a thousand bucks-yikes. I think it would be great fun to meet somewhere and run a race. So my stepmom was not old, only 68 but she had some medical problems. The services will be near me so we don't have to travel anywhere. I will be heading to the airport to pick up one of my Aunts who will be staying with me. My sister and BIL should be here later tonight too.

Laura-halhigdon.com is the website. He offers training for novice, intermediate, and advanced runners for all distances. I'm a saucony fan myself...who know I may give mizuno's a try since you all like them too.

Ended up running outside, despite the wind it was really nice. I planned on doing a small run cause I was sore from yesterday's workout but I actually ended up doing 10k.

Diana** Who knows...maybe airfare will go down??;) I think Laura's airfare would probably cost the most. I think it would be awesome to meet at some point in time. DH use to always say to me that if he chatted with someone as much as I chatted with you guys, he would have to meet them. Oh and I never answer the phone when I am working out. It drives DH nuts!

Good Morning.

Yesterday's work out was Yoga for the Warrior and then some spur of the moment jump rope at 9pm. :confused: I had no intention of doing anything but yoga but I was irritated about something and needed to blow off steam. 1000 jumps and 17 minutes later, I felt better!:);)

Today will definitely be a short run and some yoga. I am contemplating a short weight work out as well but that may or may not happen. Not sure yet.

No time for personals now but I'll catch up with them in a bit!

TGIF .. WOOT WOOT!!!!!!

FINALLY FRIDAY!!!!!!

I am on cash counter and we are still shorthanded .. ugh .. and busy ... not INSANE busy ..but busy .. I miised the Administrative Assistant Day Luncheon today b/c of us being shorthanded :( dang it!!! it is always so nice! but work has to be done by SOMEONE!!!

I had a good run ystdy- HOT run - man it was 90 degrees out and the sun was BEAMING down .. certainly made a difference .. tuffer ... but still made the wamr up cool down and 5 1/2 miles in 62 min .. so I was happy .. sweated a ton and was pretty spent afterwards .. my butt was SORE .. and today it is WORSE .. along w/the core! tmrw is Cathe .. she is gonna kick my arse .. get ready to hear some whinny butt crying from me!!! :eek: :p

Lori - I know I think I know ya'll better than I know some people here in town - it would be awesome to meet -- all of us together .. yup airfare from the deep south would be major $$$$$ .. we looked into Vegas and the airfare had doubled since 2 years ago .. RIDICULOUS!!!

Wendy - great workout - today is MY REST day .. woot woot! DAte night tonight .. then CATHE tmrw .. yikes .. I am askeered!!! Where are you off to?

Di - I looked into that website - bookmarked it .. LOTS of info .. and interesting take on running .. I was thinking ystdy i would try run slower add distance .. HA .. it was so fffn hot all I could think about is get this over with!!!! He said said save long runs for weekends .. and that rest was important as training .. YUP .. ITA there.. so that is doable to work on!

Well it is supposed to be a gorgeous weekend - DH is off - so we are planning on doing some stuff around the house .. then may go to visit some friends that are camping .. maybe do some fishing ... and I plan on laying out by the pool and enjoying the weather!! :cool:

Workout done. I did 30 mins on the TM, 15 mins on the bike and Cardio supersets. It was a good workout but not nearly as tough as Afterburn. I was going to go for a long run tomorrow but I just made an appt to get my hair done at 11:30 so we will see what happens.

Wendy** You sound like my friend. She text me last night b/c her 23 yr old daughter is finished school and moved back home. When my friend came home from work, her daughter had done nothing all day and then left everything around the house for someone else to pick up. Needless to say she wasn't happen and she was fuming. She said that it was a great time to go for a run but it was 11 at night:confused: Maybe I should tell her to buy a skip rope:eek:

Laura** Hopefully today won't be to long for you! I hear ya on airfare. I just checked out what it would cost for us to go visit DH near the end of Aug (b/c there is no way we can be apart for 6 months) And it was over 3G for all of us to fly there for a weekend:eek: Good grief! And then I would have hotel and food expenses on top of that. I would love to take the kids but unless I get a seat sale, there is a good chance I will be the only one going anywhere.

I may bbl. I think we are going out for supper but nothing else exciting!

WOW!:eek: No checked in since I did...on Friday??? Where is everyone?:p

We just punched two terrible nights with the baby. He has the head cold and it seems as if he can't get comfortable. I let DH sleep last night and I pretty much watched t.v and doozed a few times until 6 a.m. Then I woke him up and he took over. I hope tonight isn't the same.

I had an appt to get my hair done yesterday and after that I did TM and Afterburn circuit again. Today I was hoping to do a long run outside but its chilly and who am I kidding?? I have no energy, although I am sure I will find myself in the basement looking at my dvds later.

Hi Ladies,

Been out of pocket for stepmom's funeral and time with all my family that came in.

Can't remember when I worked out last...think it was Wednesday when I did BM2 cardio blast. I've been doing house stuff, mowed the lawn, went to the recycling center etc. today. My next appt is at 1pm to get my bike fitted. I'm hoping it isn't too expensive. Doubt I will workout today. Hope to get back on track...with a little help from Lori.

Lori-sorry to hear the baby is sick, poor thing. I have a hard time working out when I don't get enough sleep...you just keep on going like the energizer bunny. I was hoping you could come up with a tri training rotation since my mind is all over the place right now. Anyway, I'm supposed to run, bike, swim, lift weights each twice per week. The only thing set is stone is the training class-tues-run/swim, and thursdays-bike/swim. I try to do 2 full body wt training sessions per week. If your bored, you can write me up a rotation.:D

Laura-How are you spending your weekend?

Wendy-hope you are enjoying your birthday weekend!!!
 
Good Morning:)

Last night was much better...not that great but A LOT better then the last two. At least I got some sleep. No workout yesterday though. By the time I ate there wasn't a whole lot of time in my day.

DS has an appt this morning at 10:30 and I have a workout session this afternoon (unless she is tired from working night shifts). I am hoping to get out for a run at some point today, its so nice out. If not I will def be heading to my basement. I was also hoping to have a good nights sleep and go for a run before DS's appt.....but that's not happening.

So I am pulling up my socks this week with my eating...only 6 lbs to go and I need to clean my eating up in order to get there. My eating as been far from bad but I think I could be back to my prepregnancy weight if I just zip it a little.

Diana** I love how you ask "if Im bored":p Thats like my friend asked me to help her with her eating in my FREE time! LOL She has 2 girls, the youngest is 16 and she only works part time and she is asking me for help in my free time. How long does your running,biking and swimming have to be in length? I may get around to it this afternoon or tonight.

Well its back to the reality today, been off work since Wednesday. Not sure what my workout will be this morning since Lori didn't write up my rotation yet.:p I'm leaning towards full body weights this morning and perhaps a short run at lunch.

Lori-glad you got some sleep last night. I'm a bear when I don't get my sleep. Wow, only 6 lbs to go...you are awesome! I just received an email from the rec ctr, and I'm taking an additional swimming class so you don't have to worry about that.:D Running and biking both need to be at least 45 minutes and can go up from there.

Wendy-Can't wait to hear about your birthday weekend. Hope it was fabulous!

Good Morning Ladies.

The weekend was fun (and exhausting) and now it's back to reality!!!

I am buckling down again as of today with WW. The scale has gone up a few pounds over the last couple weeks. Although it's not a big deal I do NOT want it to go up anymore and the only sure fire way to see that it doesn't is to LOSE it again so I'm back to counting points on WW as of today. Shortly after I got laid off I got lazy about using WW and sure enough the scale began to reflect it. :rolleyes:

I finished my work out about 20 minutes ago...BH Kettlebell Sculpted Body. First time doing this one. I enjoyed it! Later on DH and I will go to the gym together so I will get in a short run too. :)

Di:: You may not have been at work but it doesn't sound like you got much time to relax. You may find yourself HAPPY to be back to the normal routine of a work day.

Lori:: Hope DS continues to get better so that you can get some more sleep in the coming nights. So is your friend going out to buy a jump rope soon? ;) I actually have DH wanting to give it a try!:D

Laura:: Oh I remember my long training runs for my HM's and my 18 miler in the summer...having to high tail it outside as early as possible to get started so that I could finish before the worst of the heat would set in! That said though I am much more capable of tolerating the heat rather then the cold. Running in the cold can be downright painful for me!:eek:

ok .. IT IS INSANE AT THE ASYLUM ...AAAAAHHHHHHH!!

had a great weekend - beautiful - Cathe and AB kicked my arse as expected - going 3 weeks without doing a cathe workout is a NONO ... i was so sore ystdy I did NOTHING .. well that and I felt like I have another fffn kidney stone coming on :( I did get to lay by pool - and spend time w/my furbabies and DH .. went fishing late afternoon which was fun!

Today is insane .. work is busy busy ..

Lori - sorry the little one is sick .. that has to be bad ... poor thing - hoping for a better night tonight!

DI - ITA w/wendy .. you may find your work day more relaxing than the past few days ..

Wendy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!! hope you had a great weekend ... and better day ..

ok .. i am swamped here .. gotta run - hoping to get in a HOT run this afternoon .. maybe .. if not it will be forced rest day .. i have had a helluva day today .c rap!
