Damage Control - April

Hi Girls,

I'm soooo lazy right now. I could have a little cat nap no sweat. I was suppose to train this afternoon but she worked last night and I haven't heard from her yet so I have a feeling she is still a sleep.

Today's workout was 50 run and back to core. Tomorrow is strength again....my fav.

Laura** sorry to hear work is crazy. There are days I wish I was at work but my job wasn't crazy, just odd hours....no worse then I'm doing now.

Diana ** hope your having a good day

Wendy** bought time you started the thread;) . I realized it yesterday after I posted. Where did march go???

Good Afternoon!

Today's work out was X-Train Fit: Cardio + Yoga Relax.

Laura:: Dinner was good. Home made lasagna using home made sauce + garlic bread (not home made though :p)! I was in the kitchen all darned day on Friday making it!!! Nice hot run you had there this weekend huh? Takes me back to the old days when I (thought I) was a runner! :p

Lori:: So what did you end up making for dinner last night...take out? ;) If I was at the party with you I would have emptied that drink cup for you! ;) I had some vanilla rum n diet coke on Friday night and then switched to vanillla vodka n ginger ale on saturday night! Needed a change from the same old thing but I think I am now ready to get back to the Captain come this weekend! :D So what's wrong-you mean to tell me that you can't handle a teenager, a toddler, a baby, other people's toddlers, training AND painting your house!? You whimp! :p;):D LOL

Diana:: Nice run and weight work out on Sunday. How was the B'day party? Hope you can get a good price to have some of your rooms painted! We need to get pricing on a new front porch. Ours has been crappy since the day we moved in and we've been here 8-9 years!!! :eek: I wouldn't mind giving the back porch a face lift as well but IDK if I can convince DH of that. In MY mind it would make sense to do though so we'll see....;)

Ok, my break is over... back to housework! :rolleyes::cool:

Wendy** They tried to force me to drink, gave me some kind of vanilla mudslide...something way to sweet for even this sweet tooth. I took it and sipped it and when I tried it wouldn't move! LOL I didn't know if it was spoiled or froze. Anyway, the host took it, turned it over and poured it down my pants leg...LOL. I had a cooler with supper and I think I started to feel that one. Its been almost a year since I drank last:eek: And with DH going away, it will probably be a while before I get on a good party! Maybe before he leaves!

Good Morning Ladies,

No workout to report for yesterday. I stayed up too late on Sunday and couldn't get movin' in the morning. It was our last night of class lastnight, but I weighed in on Thursday so I bailed on that too.

This morning will be After Burn and abs. I need to find another rotation to follow since I'm bored with the one I'm doing....something that will help motivate me to get busy in the mornings.

My house is freezing, DH turned the furnace off since it was in the 70's & 80's last week. I just turned it on...hopefully it warms up the house soon.

Wendy-thanks for starting the new month...I totally missed that.:D We are having boneless Pork Chops for dinner tonight, probably biscuits and veggies too. Looks like you found a new passion for yoga, hopefully it will rub off on me soon.

Lori-I just realized the same girl has my P90X2 and Asylum workouts. I'm going to ask for both of them back. She's traveling a lot right now so I would prefer to have them back. Are you following the 60 day Asylum rotation?

Laura-How's your week going? Still busy I'm sure with the first of the month rush.

Hello Ladies.

This morning's work out was work out # 2 from Bob Harper's Pure Burn Super Strength DVD. It's only 25 mins and dubbed a "beginner" work out but I used weights that challenged me and it was perfect for today. I followed that up with X-Train Fit's Yoga work out (42 mins). After an impressive cardio work out y'day with X-Train Fit, I thought the yoga might be a goody. Well, I didn't like the instructor at all and the work out was "meh" at best. I probably won't reach for this one often even when I DO finally get around to doing the actual rotation. BH's yogas are MUCH better as is Yoga X! Had to try it though! Going to slowly start trying all of the X-Trains...it's about time! :p

Diana:: I gotta get around to doing Afterburn soon! I also have TBTS on my do it soon "wish list" of so many work outs and so little time.:confused: What ab routine did you do? I've had boneless pork chops in my freezer for months that DH picked up. I keep on intending to make them but always get side-tracked and make something else b/c pork chops just don't do anything for me. I'll eat them but they are like X-Train Fit Yoga to me...."meh" at best! :p Now put a pork tenderloin in front of me and my mouth will water!!! How did you make the chops? I am sure that they came out and very good and I am also sure if I am made a tenderloin in a similar fashion I would love it! ;) I hear you on these crazy temps we are having. Our heat is up and down constantly. So annoying! :rolleyes:

Lori:: How was your strength work out today? I wasn't a successful breast feeder and I think I know why-b/c in the back of my mind I knew that it meant not being able to drink for an additional 9 months and I just couldn't have that! ;):p:D

TUE - insanity at the asylum!

Think I posted on the prv thread ystdy - oh well - it was HELL at the asylum .. and STILL is .. geesh!!! I was hoping to get a run in ystdy - but I had to stay late at work - then I went to see my friend w/"c".. poor thing .. we were able to have some laughs .. but man .. it breaks my heart .. she is in pain .. and weak ... bittersweet .. b/c I know what is coming :( but so nice to have a few laughs about old times with her!

Wendy .. wow the lasagna sounds awesome .. and doncha luv Bobs workouts .. he has launched a new website - subcribe and you get new videos online and workouts - and a nutrition log - recipes etc .,. looks very tempting .. but since I am member of WW .. I am letting my FL friend try it first .. LOL .. tell me about it to make up my mind or not! ;)

Lori - LOl ..Lori your job now .. HA .. probably a ton more demanding than your actual job job .. LOL!!!

Di I need to ship you some of our temps .. record highs last two days .. 88 hightoday!! :eek:

OK .. I am swamped .. better run ... HOPING to get my run in this afternoon if it dont rain ..and I can get my butt balanced and out of this place!! have a great day and great workouts!!;)
 
Hi Girls

My parents were here earlier and my mom said I should go for a run:). Who was I to pass that up!? So I did 10.5 outside. I may do strength later or save it for tomorrow. It's 4 here and I am starting to hit a wall.

Wendy** I still need to try the cathe yoga DVDs that I have! I just need to make the time. Everything changed when I was pregnant including my flexibility.

Diana** why don't you do the asylum rotation with me? Would that be enough motivation for you?

Laura** how old is your friend and how much time do you think she has left? I had a friend die of cancer when I was 16 and she was 21. It's still hard when I see her family. I think I remind them of her.

Hello Ladies.

As much as my brain says go for it, my body is telling me that today needs to be a rest day so I'm taking it. I haven't taken one since the Sunday before last anyway so that's 9 days in a row of working out. I'm due to take it easy I think. ;)

Laura:: Grrrr...I went to Bob's site and ordered 5 dvds. I couldn't resist at $5 each. :p I am going to FORCE myself to do them even if I don't like them! :rolleyes:

Lori:: Your kiddos have a good grandma! She knows to give mom a break if she wants her grandchildren to all stay in one piece! ;) LOL

Gotta get the kiddo off to school. BBIAB!:cool:

Today's workout is def strength and a small run. We had some snow/freezing rain last night so I won't be running outside. I'm hoping to start my workout soon but I also need to eat before.

Wendy** My inlaws always say they can watch the kids if I want to run but I feel like I'm being a bother is I call them. I would just rather get up in the a.m and get my workout over with. I think both sets of grandparents enjoy having alone time with the baby. I think I am going home next week for a few days so I should be able to get some runs in then.

I will bbl to report my workout. Happy hump day (for those suckers who work;)) LOL

Hi Ladies,

Considering doing Imax 3 this morning...nice sweatfest before moving on to the rest of my day.

I have an interview today. I've worked with the person I'm interviewing with so I know her and her staff. I'm interested to hear more about this position and if it will be a good fit for me.

Lori-nice that your folks could watch the kiddos so you could run. They definitely understand your fitness committment. Okay, maybe they do have an ulterior motive, but what kids don't want to spend time with their Grandparents anyway! I may be up for doing the Asylum rotation with you, but I need to get my discs back before I can commit. I also start tri-training next week so my rotation will be heavily guided by what the trainer recommends.

Wendy-damn you girl, can't tell you how much time I spent looking at videos on the new site you gave me....the lower body one is a workout I definitely want to do. If by chance I'm offered the job and accept, I may have to start doing BR or other short w/o's in the a.m. The position is at our Corporate HQ....8-5 type...male dominated..., no more working from home etc.

Laura-Glad you've been able to spend time with your friend. This is such a tough situation for everyone. Should be getting close to your much needed vacation. I need to start running more often...ran on Sunday, but am busy all this week, perhaps friday morning I could...or afternoon since the weather is warming up.

WED - hump day!

Well the darned weather started raining/storming right before I got off work .. and continued long enough to force to cancel my run :mad::mad: gggrrrrrrr ... I was TICKED .. so I went home and banged out Asylum - Speed and Agility!! :D GREAT SWEATFEST - and a few DOMS in my core today :confused:

Wendy - LOL .. i was LMAO on MY ENABLING YOU!! HA - i say payback is a B#### .. funny!!! :D:D:D:D but you will thank me .. b/c all of his DVD's are awesome .. the best is the last one - total body transformation!!

Di - oh man .. so do you WANT the new position - no more working from home .. :-( ... yes my vacation is FAST approaching - as in next week - I am soooo ready - but cant help but have that nagging "what if" in the back of my head about my friend and my Buster (who is stablalized and finally eating us out of house and home - nock on wood :D)

Lori - My friend - I think she is around 64 or so - we have been friends for about 25 years I guess ... she is kinda like my kindered spirit - My BFF and her BFF are like kindered spirits too .. it is funny - both of our BFF's LOVE to shop - I mean like PRO shoppers - well me and her .. we DONT .. they shop and we usually sit at a bar and have some drinks waiting on them! She is funny - sarcastic - happy - tells you like it is whether you like it or not - the best friend you can ask for who will defend you like a mother bear defends her cubs ... and can always make you smile - even now!! She has battled cancer for SO LONG .. and has had so many miracles and defied everything the dr's have told her - but think it has the best of her now :( as I told Wendy - I think she is finally out of miracles!! .. I just pray for her comfort now!!!

OK .. soooooo it is HEAVY WEIGHTS at the cc today at lunch - we are to have sporadic storms today - IF it is doable I am going for a run after work - if not .. me and SIL may tackle AT or Bobs workout!! :eek:

Wendy-seriously, I'm afraid to look at FB now. I saw you posted a link on FB....it popped up on my phone....I'm forcing myself not to look at it until I get off work tonight. It's probably for another w/o site...LOL

Good Morning:)

Had a better night with the baby last night. He has been going to bed at 10:30 ish which makes the night longer because he will then get up at 1:30,4:30 and probably 6:30-7. Last night he didn't go down until 11:30 so then he didn't wake until 3:30....I prefer one feeding a night instead of 3! DS1 has skating this morning but its practice for the ice show....so I am not sure if I am going to go watch him or just stay home. The behavior specialist also comes this afternoon and I may go get the baby weighed:confused: I really don't enjoy Thursday's.

I think today's workout is speed and agility. I may start that soon and add on a run. I was also going to weigh today. TBH...think I have been eating to many cookies:p Everyone thinks I have all my weight gone. Either they have forgotten how small I was and will be telling me I am to skinny once I lose this last 10 lbs OR I look the same at both weights;) I know I didn't have this fluff around the middle before, my chest certainly wasn't this big and my hip and thigh area needs to go down as well. Oh well.....its only been 2 months.

Diana** How was your interview? Maybe the tri training will be enough to get you motivated??

Laura** Im not a big shopper either. I would rather shop online, then have to try cloths on. Its just fustrating no matter what size you. Then my hair gets staticy and out of control, just not a pretty situation! I don't mind running in the rain. I don't like starting in the rain but if it starts raining while I am out, I could careless. That's in the summer/fall months though. I wouldn't want to run in the rain now....I would freeze to death.

Okay so my tentative work out plan is this: KCM NYC Sculpt Upper Body premix or KCM Split Sessions Upper Body + HiiT 40/20 + as much of Yoga for the Warrior as I can get through at that point. I could just pick a shorter yoga and do it in full but it's been too long already since I've done it so I need my fix!;):p

Wish me luck and I'll be back...I HOPE!:D:p:cool:

The interview went very well. I ran into the VP of my department and he said he heard there may be some opportunities for me. I don't like that he already knows I've applied for another position. GGRRRR

Athletic Training is on tap for this morning. One of my coworker has an ab glider she is giving to me. We are going to pick it up from her place at lunch today. I'll let you all know what I think of it.

Wendy-sounds like you have a great plan for today. So is Yoga your new best friend? I've just never been able to get into it for too long. Many years ago I took a power yoga class at the rec ctr and I really liked it, but the instructor left and I never went back.

Lori-glad you had a better night last night. You are superwoman-S&A and a run...you go girl. I'm sure you look great, and will be back to your normal size in no time. I remember when DS3 was born, DS2 was in Kindergarten. I hated that I had to wake the baby to take my son to school, then I would put him in the stroller or wagon and walk to pick him up a few hours later. It was so disruptive at the time.

Laura-Sorry the rain ruined your run. I'm a fair weather runner myself. So you and Lori doing Asylum is making me want to follow in your footsteps too. The coworker who has my discs is out of the office until next week. I'm definitely getting them back from her.

morning ladies!

I GOT MY RUN IN :D:D:D 5.5 miles 55 min - if it werent for that HUGE hill i have to go up my time would be a lot better - well that time includes warm up AND cool down - and I run intervals - hard sprint- easy run - rest!!! so .. pretty good!! FELT GREAT - I had a CRAPPY day at work .. PIA at it again - I DESPISE that POS ... so I did take out some frustrations on the run!! :D she was on diet pills (last year)and prbly lost 50# .. well ALL the weight has come back .. and she is in B#### mode again!! FAH!!!! :mad:

OK .. off my soapbox - tonight is DATE NIGHT - woot woot - not sure if I will fit in workout at lunch or not - DH starts long hours tmrw - so date night will have to come a day early!!!

DOMS: tris and chest - eeeeeeooouch - hvy weights killed!!

Lori - S&A.. AND a run :confused: you ARE THE WOMAN!!!! WTG!! and I imagine you ARE small if everyone thinks you have lost all that baby weight .. prlby only you see and feel the "fluff" .. the rain - HA - not really the rain I dont want to run in .. but here we have LIGHTNING .. lots of lightning .. and where i run is lots of TREES .. so ya .. it is more the lightning and HAIL that I worry about running in!

Wendy - good luck on the workout - LIKE you need it :p ok .. I am gonna have to research back and find the link to the w/o site you and DI are talking about ..

Di - congrats on interview going well - I know all too well about a MALE oriented environment .. ugh ... and the 8 - 5 tied to the desk scene! dbld UGH - to me adding in asylum workouts here and there is such a great way to kick your reg routine in the butt ... {i know enabling again - but hey u already have the w/os}

OK .. we are to have BAD storms today - hope we dont get TX weather .. yuck - under "slight" advisment of tornados for today .. but 70% of THUNDERSTORMS .. yuck!!! better run ... have a great one!! will try to BBL to check in again!
 
I'm back and my w/o is done.

I was supposed to do HiiT 40/20 with gals from another check in but cardio just wasn't in the cards for me today. :eek: I didn't feel awesome most of the morning and was unsure if I'd even work out at all so in the end when I decided to attempt a work out I also decided that 40/20 needed to wait another day. I hope they forgive me. LOL

But wait! That's not the only change I made!:p

My recent Bob purchases influenced me to try another Bob work out I already own so instead of doing my original KCM plan for weights I switched it to Bob's work out #2 on his cardio dvd (still not sure why this is on the cardio dvd but whatever lol). It's called Butt n Balance. The focus is on lower body but it has upper body moves as well. It's almost 25 minutes long if you count the warm up. When that was over I decided to push the upper a bit further since that was my original plan anyway so I did this:

~6 sets each of 5 reps of push ups and 5 reps of reverse push ups. The regular push ups were standard stance for first round, wide for second round and narrow for third and then repeated like that for next 3 sets.

Then I had to add abs so I did this:

~4 sets of 10 reps of dip station abs.

Then ofcourse I couldn't leave out the yoga:

~BH Yoga for the Warrior.

DONE!:D

Sounds like a lot but I think not doing crazy cardio made it much more doable. I will do the cardio tomorrow assuming I won't feel yucky in the morning. I promise! ;)

BBIAF for personals. Need to shower up and make lunch!:cool:
 
Good Morning:)

Had another pretty good night but the baby likes to wake in the a.m just to start his day now, not to eat:confused: So I have been up since 7:30 with him and DS1 is also awake.

Well...I didn't get to workout at all yesterday. When I looked at the rotation it was actually a rest day so instead of working out, I decided to go watch DS skate b/c it was his last skating session of the year. My plan was to get a workout in at some point in time but if I didn't I wasn't going to stress about it cause I don't even remember when my last rest day was. So today will be S&A, a run and some abs I think. It would be nice to run outside, even though the sun is shining, its cold an windy out.

Laura** I didn't think about the thunder and lightening...I can understand you not wanting to run in that;) We don't have those kinds of storms here cause its never warm enough! LOL

Diana** My friend says that her 3rd never gets a sensible nap cause she always has to wake her up b/c of her other kids! LOL It will probably be the same here. DS's speech appts start again next week...thats every tuesday morning at 9! I use to have a hard enough time getting there when it was just the two of us....now I have to bring the baby too? I am hoping that my inlaws will watch the baby when DH goes away.

Wendy** Sounds like your into the yoga these days. I still haven't tried the Cathe yoga yet....I need to find more time!!! LOL Time isn't exactly on my side these days.

I will bbl to report my workout. Forgot that today is a holiday and DH is home all day.

Hi Ladies,

Yay for Friday. I have a busy day ahead of me starting with a meeting at 9am and then the rest of the day is full of meetings too. Well there is a baby shower for an employee at lunch time that I will be going to. She is the daughter of a friend of mine and she actually used to babysit my boys when she was younger. Now she is married and having a baby of her own.

DH's cousin and uncle are coming in from Boston for the weekend. DH is picking them up at the airport this morning. DH and his cousin will the dates for our Maine trip and hopefully we can get that booked.

Off for a short leg/ab routine this morning. Be back later for personals.
