Good Morning.

Today will be Tear It Up (80 mins) after work. I followed this one up with cardio last week. Perhaps I'll have the chance to do that again! DH won't be home to nag me so there's a good chance....:p Never did cardio y'day. I started my work out too late. I really wish I had the time but TTOM was wreaking havoc on me so as soon as I was done eating lunch (after work) I laid down for a while. By the time I got around to working out, it was too late. :(

Laura:: Sorry DH flubbed up. I am sure he'll find a way to make it up to you though. ;)

Jacque:: So do you have the GWF shipping update yet? :D Hopping on the scale almost every day keeps me in check too. As much as I'd like to toss it, I can't. I also need to know my weight to use my omron BF monitor and if you use any HR monitor (which I used to use by lost-makes me mad!) you need to know your weight (including the GWF) so I don't see myself EVER tossing the scale.

Diana:: I am getting the preview disc for Insanity!!! A Catheite sold me the one that comes with the Tony One on One stretch. She paid $25 plus shipping for it and now has the set so she sold both work outs to me for $15 shipped. It's a full 40 minute work out. I forget the name of it but she said it's awesome and the reason she bought the set.

Jen:: I am a morning person to but getting up at 430 to exercise on a daily basis? Um well, okay, NOT! LOL :p I DO understand your reasoning for it though and if the day ever does come that I am employed full time then I just might be eating my words. ;) I was hoping you'd start CLX in August because I want to do the full 6 week SS rotation before starting Push. This would put us both starting Push about the same time! :cool:

Good Morning Wendy and all who follow!

This morning was five miles on the treadmill. Got it done in 52 minutes so I'm ok with that.

Wendy: I could probably be convinced to start CLX in August ;) Are you starting August 1? How many weeks of SS do you have left? I'm seeing some nice endurance gains with the running lately, so I think I want to keep that up for a while longer. Maybe I'll plan on doing Push weights and then running for cardio, what do you think? I know it's kind of contradictory to the "less cardio while building muscle" mindset that is popular these days. Decisions, decisions....

OMG, I don't think the air is on in this place today! Between the run this morning and the high humidity, (oh yeah, and the coffee I'm drinking :p) I'm already melting! Off to find out what's up, but will bbl~

Heya ladies !

Popping for a quickie. Ended up doing the UB Split from CTX - no energy left for Leaner Legs. Hoping to fit that one in after work today.

Wendy - no ship date yet on GWF, scale down another .5 ? Wondering if I am not eating enough as I haven't changed my eating habits but didn't exercise for 3 days? Either that or just ordering GWF made my metabolism speed up? :p This Insanity talk is making me insane ! I'm loving my running these days but still need additional cardio and step isn't where my legs want to go lately. Hope you get your workouts in today and TTOM leaves you alone !:confused:

Jen - Woo Hoo 5 miles done early ! Good for you ! ITA about the confusion between building muscle, losing fat, too much cardio, etc. I've tried so many different ways of working out - I gained during STS - think the GWF will be helping me learn my calorie burn and that should help loads more in knowing my metabolic rate. You walking at lunch or gonna skip the "big hair" today with all that humidity? :p

Laura, Diana, Lori - how's the day treating all of you?

Hey Ladies ..

well DH is out of the doghouse .. he did come to town .. had me a dozen pink roses w/one red rose in the center .. a SWEET card .. and COORS LIGHT :eek: he said that was the late fee .. LOL ... he got steaks and invited my aunt and uncle for supper ... so it was a great night .. yes induldged in some coors lights ... but it was soooo good!! :D

I just got in a 25 minute power walk at lunch .. and tonight is combo of plyo work - 4 step - pushup torture - and core torture ... should be a goodie!!!! It was hot in class last night .. left a sweaty mess .. I got weak .. the elliptical must have worked the hammies a bit too hard .. that plus the HEAT ..YIKES it was tough .. SIL said she got weak too :confused: the man DID come back .. he is still struggling w/the choreography .. but doing well otherwise ..

Wendy .. yes DH made up for flubbing ... LOL ... have fun w/tear it up today!!!

Jen .. it is a scorcher here too .. HIGH HUMIDITY ... supposed to get rain today .. so maybe we will ...

Jacque .. I am trying to hold off on the insanity stuff ... I am ready for STS shock cardio to come in ...

Di and Lori.. hello .. hope all is well ..

OK .. countdown to our Keys vacation :cool: WOOHOO .. although I have MORE FLUFF than I intended too :eek: OH well .. will loose it diving .. :D .. hopefully the weather will cooperate ... My baby dog is in HEAT and Buster has lost his mind.. I am not sure if she bred .. she is going out right now .. at least she will be out when we leave for vacation .. but we have not been sleeping b/c Buster is crazy .. humping everything not nailed down :confused: for 130# dog not a pretty sight .. he has not eaten in 5 days .. so maybe she will go on out so he can get back to normal and we can get some sleep .. LOL!!

Hi Ladies,

Well in a moment of weakness I ordered the GWF! The expected delivery date is Aug. 3rd. I blame all you enablers! I was actually contemplating going back to WW but decided to give the GWF a try. It will give me a much better picture of my overall cals in/out, burned, sleep patterns etc. than anything else I've seen.

My tummy was a little upset last night so I opted to skip bootcamp. Running probably wouldn't have been the best thing for me. Since I haven't been stepping much I opted for StepBlast this morning. It was pretty fun and a sweatfest too.

You girls are so brave, stepping on the scale so frequently. I'm afraid of the scale but will have to bit the bullet soon. My NC rescheduled our appt for Friday night. I'm sure I'll just be weighed and have my bodyfat results too.

Wendy-You'll have to tell me what you think of Insanity. I'm still really close to ordering that too!!! I'm sure it is right up my alley! In your opinion, is it okay to do KB training everyday? I've been putting a day between them but the muscles are never really worked to failure-or enough reps in my opinion. My upper body is lacking definition and I don't think KB's are helping. I do enjoy the variety though and plan on continuing for another week or so.

Jen-nice job on the 5 miles this morning. I tried to get back into running and only managed about 6-8 morning runs of only 3-5 miles. I'm just not feeling energized enough for running, oh...and it really hurts my feet. I was at my lowest weight when I used to run all the time. I haven't found anything that keeps the weight off like running. I too would love a gourmet kitchen. I'm fortunate to have a workout area in my basement.

Jacque-will be joining you on the GWF journey!;) Are you considering another round of STS??? I'm thinking once the STS cardio workouts come out. My upper body needs to lift more. I've been doing KB's but its not the same as traditional lifting. I don't think the reps are enough to bring me to failure.

Laura-nice of you to let dh out of the doghouse. Can't believe the "man" keeps coming back for more torture. One of my coworkers who is a long distance runner said he tried to take an aerobics class with his wife and said it was too hard!!! Our workouts are plenty tough IMO. Men just can't believe we work so hard.

Lori-When do you go home from your brother's? How far away does he live from you? Home you are enjoying your visit.

Heya chickies!

Just finished dinner...salmon burgers, yum...and now have a batch of cookies baking. Yes, baking...in this heat. Not my most brilliant idea :rolleyes:

Jacque: You know it girl, I went for the big hair! WTH, I grew up in the 80s, it suits me ;) I then took the dog for a walk when I got home. So guess how many steps I have today. Go ahead, guess...ok, I'll tell...21,459!! Admittedly, I'm worried about gaining with STS so I'm glad you mentioned that. It's still sitting in the box. Not sure if that's something I'll wait til winter to pull out or what. But I think you'll see success with the GWF. It really simplifies the process. I think bottom line is calories in versus calories out, and the GWF makes it a no brainer.

Laura: Did you get that rain you were hoping for? You can keep it! I've had enough of that. Glad to hear DH made up for his "oversight" :D The fact that he went through with it shows how important you are to him.

Diana: Another convert! Woo hoo! This is going to fit in nicely with your NC I think. Good idea skipping bootcamp last night. I had tummy troubles last week all week and keeping up with the workouts made it linger I think. I should have given my body the rest. But I never know if it's a bug or if it's just the new me, so unless it's knocking me to the floor I figure I'll just ignore it. Who knows what's right? Trust me, getting on the scale every day isn't bravery, it's obsession (speaking only for myself here.) I wish I could stay away from it! Don't start the bad habit.

So in light of my high step count, think I can sneak a cookie? Heh, don't bother answering that one, girls...it's already too late :p

Good Evening Peeps.

Well, I ended up doing Tear It Up this afternoon and then headed out to Group Kick class tonight since I wasn't going to mom's and DH wasn't going to be around (bowling). It was fun! Perhaps I'll have to take it more often! ;) So obviously I got my cardio in today as I had hoped so I am happy. :)

Jen:: I want to do a full SS rotation which is 6 weeks. This will take me through the very end of August. I'm not sure if I'll want to take a recovery week before starting Push or not but either way I would be starting Push either the first or second week of September. If you started a CLX rotation at the beginning of August then you would complete the Burn phase while I was doing SS and we could start Push at the same time or at least within a week of each other. Just food for thought. :) Hey, do you have P90X??? As for running during Push, it's all about what kind of results you want. If you aren't looking for muscle building but rather leaning out then adding more cardio could be a good thing. Remember too that if you aren't eating to build muscle then you won't regardless of how much cardio you do. I intend to add a bit when I do Push and I added when I did CLX the first time around. So whatever happened with your A/C at work? Was it on?? I smiled when I read that you were drinking coffee this morning even though it was warm in your office. A girl after my own heart! ;)

Laura:: So glad to hear the DH made it up to you! I just knew he would!!!! I'll bet the beer scored the most brownie points, right? :D

Jacque:: CTX U/B is killer especially when done all at one time. I would not expect you to have the energy to continue on to Leaner Legs!!! :eek: Great work out!!! So are you looking to purchase Insanity? I'm not. I think it'll be cardio over-kill for me in a BIG way but I still wanted to try it. I will use the work out as a cardio option in my rotations. :)

Diana:: They say that you certainly can use KBs on back to back days (up to 4 days in a row I think!) but I honestly don't know what the guidelines are with that. I think you might be able to find a rotation on the AOS website that uses a Newport and Providence back to back or something like that. I am also sure there are knowledgeable folks over in the O/D that could help you if you feel like posting your question over there. :) Congrats on the GWF purchase! I can't believe you all caved before I did! I am usually the weak one! LOL Being more aware of my weight (by weighing often) helps motivate me to stay on track...USUALLY anyway. ;)

Alrighty, I suppose I've "talked" your "ears" off enough for one evening. Off to get ready to cuddle up with my book. I'll be sleeping after reading 1 page! LMAO!

Hey Girls!

Figured I should check in now b/c I probably won't get to check in anymore until tomorrow evening!:mad: Although...DH did say when he returned home that I would have some time to myself...IMAGINE THAT!:confused: I thought I was going to lose my mind a couple of times today but I kept it together;)

I am suppose to be working on Sun and there is another race I would like to go to. Its just a 10 k one around here. I asked my boss if there were no flights that a.m could I go and he didn't think it would be a prob. So I have to wait until Sun morning to find out if I can go or not....but thats o.k.

Work life isn't getting any easier. The part time girl we had...who as been here 18 yrs put in her notice! She is finished in 2 weeks which means, I will get my 2 shifts back a month plus my call outs. I guess he is going to try and hire someone but who knows what will happen!

I got out for an hour long run today. I am going with my running partner tomorrow...and no DS or Shamu for that matter. He as to take his stuffed whale everywhere he goes and Im not kidding you! I mean EVERYWHERE! He sleeps with it, it sits with us at the table, it goes for a run with us, to the grocery store...you name it and Shamu is there:eek:

Wendy** Good job putting out those resumes! I seen it on FB!:p I don't read for the simple reason that i fall asleep. If I have trouble falling asleep, I pick up a book! Good job with the workout today!

Jen** Ive made the same mistake of baking when its warm. The burgers sounded yummy! What do you put on a salmon burger? Not ketchup?

Jacque** Did you get LL done? I could come up with some good excuses NOT to do that one!

Laura** When do you leave for vaca? I would be sooo excited! How long are you gone for?

Diana** O.k what is GWF? Im lost...seems like I have been away forever! We got home yesterday. My brother lives about 3 hours away, not that far but its usually a costly trip b/c its in the city and shopping and eating out comes with it.

I bought some protein bars while I was away, They are called "oh yeah" and they are sooo yummy! I bought a box of 12 and hide them in my room cause Im sure someone would get their grubby hands on them!!

O.k...I will check back tomorrow sometime! Hope everyone is having a good night!
