Good Morning!

Im going to go ahead and start the thread b/c Wendy didn't show up yesterday until lunch time:eek:;)!

I set my alarm for 6:30, wanted to be out for my run by 7:30 but I decided to turn the alarm off and not get up:confused: So now its 7:50 and i am still drinking coffee. I have a feeling that todays run will be a short one, just to say I did something. I had a great nights sleep though. Went to bed at 11 or so and did get up until 7:30! I needed it obviously.

I was going to do personals but I think i will wait until I get to work. The longer I am here..the shorter my run will be!

Lori:)

Hey Lori it's 7am and here I am! :p

Good Morning Girls.

I'm a little sore from y'day's work out. Gotta love it! ;) Today I get a rest day from the SS work outs but not from Insanity. It's Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs for me today. I am looking forward to it....I THINK! LOL

Well, the scale is definitely UP after last night's meal but I'm not worried. We all know this happens and we all know with a little TLC that the number will return to normal within a few days time. Ofcourse, tmrw morning we are supposed to be going out to breakfast after DH runs the 5k race he entered. OOPS! I guess the TRUE damage control will begin after that meal! :p I DO plan to be good today though. We are going to the boardwalk today with my mom, my aunt, a few of my nieces and nephews and ofcourse my son so not eating the crap there will be a challenge. Wish me luck!

Diana:: Glad you got the laptop you wanted and great score on the flatscreen too. DH is not moving on the laptop thing. It's so annoying but oh well. I really shouldn't complain...I got my flatscreen tv on the wall for my work outs not that long ago! ;) I am sure the laptop will come...some day....perhaps I should ask for one for Christmas. If that's the idea that I give him then I will probably get it. He doesn't like to have to come up with ideas on his own if he doesn't have to. LOL

Lori:: So our resident runner in the group just isn't feelin' it today huh? Chose sleep over sweat? LOL That's okay. Even YOU are allowed to slack off once in a while! :p

Gotta finish up my java and get some food in me! BBL!

Wake up ladies! I need someone to keep me amused! I am washing clothes but have lost my motivation to do more housework n it's still too early to get "insane"!!! :p DH is out running and DS is upstairs in his room doing goodness knows what so I'm all alone...it's just me and the dog...who's asleep! LOL

Howdy...back again:D

My workout ended up being CC#3 (did the first section 2x's) giving me a 4.5 mile run and I also did some leg work from ME. Im not sure if I will be feeling that tomorrow b/c I didn't do much but my weights were heavier then normal and I was sweating buckets!!!

Last night after dinner I cleaned a little, did some laundry and made some protein bars for snacks. Im hoping that if I trick myself into thinking I am eating cookies...then I won't actually eat cookies:rolleyes: I have a feeling it won't work:p I did a couple of loads of laundry last night and just put it on the rinse cycle twice, I had to b/c it was piling up and who knows when someone will come by to fix it. Then today before I left for work I put a load of towels in and the next thing I know...its doing exactly what it is suppose to be doing.

The protein bars I made are pretty good but I had to add some water to the mixture. Its mostly oatmeal, flour, oil, peanut butter, protein powder, honey....you get the picture. The dry ingrediets really seemed to out weigh the wet ingredients so I put some water in them. They are a little dry but with the help of my coffee it makes a nice snack.:) I am going to add some apple sauce the next time me thinks!

Wendy** Glad you got up early today!! hehe! The scale always goes up for me when I work day shifts. I think its partly b/c I am weighing myself 3 hours earlier then I normally would and I think I always have alittle water retention early in the morning. My rings are always tight so there is a indication.
I did enjoy the Joey story probably way to much;) Im sorry but I have a feeling that you would have laughed at me to! hehe! Enjoy your workout today!

Laura** Are you having a good weekend? Consuming drinks....prehaps???

Jacque** Wow you put alot of time into figuring out a rotation! They look good. When are you going to start following it and how many fit test do we have to take?

Diana** Glad to hear you are getting the rooms straightened out. I love getting things all tidied up but it takes way to long!

Jen** What are your plans for today? Did you get to sleep alone again last night???:D

Ok...Im sure there was probably going to say more but DH just called and he is coming in for a visit!

BB in a bit!

Lori:)

Good Morning Ladies,

Well I have a busy day planned. SIL called yesterday and we are having a bday dinner for my MIL at SIL's house tonight. I will be bringing veggies, salad, and a couple of desserts. MIL asked for this ice cream dessert I make and it needs to freeze for at least 4 hours.

Not sure if I should make up the Insanity workout I missed from yesterday...or do the fit test instead and start the rotation tomorrow. I need to workout this morning either way. For some reason I think the Mon and Fri w/o's for the first week are the same. Guess I'll figure it out as soon as I finish up my coffee.

Lori-sorry about the washer machine troubles. I called a repairman right away when mine quit working. It took about 3 days before he could come fix it. My machine is 13yrs old and when it dies I want to get one of those new front load machines. Good Job getting your run in this morning even though you weren't feelin' it. Can you share your recipe for protein bars? You are right, this room change thing is taking forever. I know my sister and I could've done all of it in 2 or 3 days...not 2 or 3 weeks.

Wendy-You have a fun family day planned! I wouldn't worry too much about the weight..you know its temporary. Actually, I bought a new desktop. I did buy a laptop back in March and it gets used all the time. My current desktop is very old and runs very slow. I think once I transfer everything I need to the new and wipe the old...it will be just fine for Jerod.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend....and we get an extra day off tomorrow!!!

Hello again.

DH and I watched the movie "Marley and Me". I read the book several months back and really enjoyed it despite all of the tears at the end so when I saw it for sale "previously viewed" for cheap y'day at the pharmacy I didn't hesitate to pick it up. Great movie but boy what a tear jerker. I do think the book was worse to that end though.

So now I am digesting my lunch in preparation for my Insanity work out. By the time that gets done, I clean up and eat again (LOL), it will be almost time to hit the rides. Still doing laundry in the mean time. Does it EVER end!?

Diana:: We replaced our desk top probably within the last year I guess. We got an awesome deal on it. Our monitor is an open box special DH got to replace the one that came with the prior desk top after it died on us and it seems to still be going strong. It's an old fashioned monitor. When it dies I am all over the flat screen! ;) Have you seen the new desk tops that are literally nothing but a flat screen monitor and a keyboard!? The cpu is INSIDE either the keyboard or the monitor. I'm not sure which. It's TOTALLY cool but also boku bucks! IMO, if you are going to want to do the fit test anyway, I would just do it today and start the rotation tmrw. :)

Lori:: I eat protein bars for snacks at work all the time. I've never made my own though. Is it easy? I think there are no bake recipes. I need me one of those!!!! Is yours a no bake??

Well, might as well go change my clothes and get my azz in gear! I'd like to start my work out by 1pm!

Later chicas!:)

Hi Ladies,

I ended up doing PCC (Plyo Cardio Circuit)....and I still pretty much sucked at the level one drills. I ended up just going at my own pace and have plenty of room for improvement.

I also attempted Insane Abs, only managed about half of that one. It's one of the extra discs that came with the deluxe package. The warmup was fine but once we dropped to the floor it was pretty tough. I ended up doing modified versions...once I saw the time though I needed to stop.

I still have to run to the store and get that ice cream dessert made and in the freezer soon!

Wendy-The cpu is in the monitor...and I would not recommend them. They are pretty cool and save a lot of space. Oh yes...Marley and me is quite the tear jerker.

Have a great day ladies.

Well I got home late last night so no Insanity for me. Was relaxing sitting with DD and one of her housemates while the pup took it easy before her ride home. DD's roomie has a bouvier (sp?) and he's so adorable and large with "talking" eyes if you know what I mean. Sensitive too - it's just too funny.

Sleep was "UGLY" for me last night. Had a quickie earthquake at 2:44 and I was then awake until almost 5:30. Kept falling asleep for 15-20 min. would wake for that long and then fall back to sleep. Finally got up at 8:15 when the dog wanted outside. UGH it's been hard waking up today and I have a lingering headache. Need to eat and pop a motrin. Hope to get my fit test done today . . .

Wendy – cool that you can “arrange” your rotation to join us next month. Thanks for the heads up on the UB for month 2. I figured I may as well plan it out, hoping I can do Insanity in the morning when I have the added UB work. Though I think most of the days I added UB it is either recovery or a 50 or 55 min Insanity day. I do have loads of extra time on Thurs nites so if that is my only UB then that would be fine. I am hoping the UB is not too many push ups in a row or I’ll definitely be short as my wrists and shoulders don’t allow many more than 20 at a time. Burpee type moves are OK if I can get back up and then go down for only one push up at a time – I can go longer on those. LOL about your Sat nite – I got home with the puppy at about 8 to find DH running out to Walmart for some new boxes of Hot Wheels. Dinner was served at 9:30 when I was nearly asleep ! Oh well, you just gotta love ‘em. He did do the potatos since I was late . . .

Well <<<good luck vibes for cleanest food possible at a boardwalk>>>, is that kinda hypocritical there? :p:rolleyes: At least you will spend lots of steps so that should help - ontop of your Insanity workout you should be just fine ! I still want to see Marley & Me one of these days - I've heard it is sad but then again, animals still bring so much joy to our lives that you have to realize it doesn't last forever. Enjoy your Insane workout !

Diana – great shopping trip for you price wise, even if you have to wait for your computer and had to go to a couple of stores. Having to go to the other store headed you in the Nordstrom direction for more deals anyway ! My plan is to split the workouts also except for perhaps Thurs nite. I am crossing my fingers I can get up early enough to do them in the mornings, we will see how that goes.

Hope you have a great party for MIL today. Sounds like you are bringing just the right foods for Damage Control sans the desserts but then again, a bite here and there never hurts ! I made it fine with an entire brownie with ice cream the other day - back to my lower weight this AM so all is good ! Woo Hoo on an extra day off ! I'll be joining you on the room thing today as I need to get a move on since yesterday was a complete bust !

Lori - well thank you for starting the thread this AM . . . ahem Wendy . . . :p Guess you are the one who "took" my good nites sleep last night huh? Nice job on the run AND ME legs. You work your legs enough so doubt you have the need for heavy weights - increase is good enough. Hope work isn't too boring for you today.

The plan is for Jen, Diana and I to start the Insanity workouts Tues so I will begin then. And Wendy is planning on joining us for Month 2. I only added UB since the ladies on OD along with Wendy had suggested they felt a need for a little weight work. I don't want to lose much strength in the UB, but then Jen posted her arms were sore so who knows if I'll need it. Will figure it out as we go. Fit tests are every 2nd Mon. and the last Sun. (except for the recovery week). I may or may not do all of them. Planning ahead for me works better than winging it so I planned ahead ('cuz then I had a good excuse for not starting earlier ! :p)

BBL hopefully to report I finished my Fit Test !

OK done with Fit Test and previewed Plyo Cardio Circuit ! Looks very killer there. Guess it is a sign when the people who are taping (you'd think they would be in good shape) are looking like they are ready to drop (or actually one did during the last circuit !).

I believe I understand why people are losing weight with these workouts and I haven't even done one yet. Think I'll stop the previewing and just wait to be surprised.

Later chickies !

Heya girlies!

I'm up to my elbows in paint right now. DS got the idea that he wanted to thoroughly clean his room (yay!) and paint in a brighter color, so Friday night he tore the whole thing apart, and spent yesterday morning sorting through stuff and vacuuming until we went out to the cookout. DSO brought him out to buy the stuff he needed to paint the room so he was all set to go today. In the meantime, though, he had also coordinated a bike ride with two other friends for today. So he took off and left me with a) a room that looked like a small tornado went through it and b) all the fixins to just get the job done...how convenient  Fortunately, DSO is lending his elbow grease and we're actually moving right along with this project. Almost done, in fact.

The cookout last night was good, but we left by eight because we were both super tired.

I decided to go for a run yesterday after all. THe weather was perfect for it. I went six miles, but they were hard fought. My legs were a tad sore and very tired from the Insanity workouts. No workout for me today though. I wanted to get the Fit Test done but it looks like that'll have to wait for tomorrow.

Wendy: Happy to hear you'll be working your rotation right into the start of month two of ours. We'll all be dying together. Nope, SO does not know about my furnace complaints! It's funny...if we slept together every night I know I'd get into that groove where I wouldn't be able to rest well without him there, but seeing we live separately still, he only stays here on the weekends so I have the bed to myself more often than not. Therefore, that's my "default" setting and it's an adjustment to have to share. Hopefully someday soon the adjustment will be nights when he's NOT there. The difference between being alone on weeknights versus weekends is that during the week I'm up early, Saturdays is when I catch up on my sleep. So a Saturday where I'm by myself and able to catch up on my sleep is like gold :p Sounds like today is going to be a fun day for you!

Lori: Those protein bars sound delish! I'd be interested in that recipe if you were interested in posting it ;) I'm always looking for something totable to pack for work, and I know my son would take those in his lunch, too. Ugh, I hear you on the laundry woes! I have a MOUNTAIN in front of my washer right now that I'll be tackling later and tomorrow  It never ends. Great workout this morning!

Diana: My gf, the one who has Insanity, and I were talking about those level 1 drills today and how hard they are. She agreed that they're killers, and then said "But wait until you see the level 3 drills.":eek::eek: I didn't even ask if there's a level 2! Have fun at the birthday dinner tonight!!

Jacque: Sorry to hear about your miserable night's sleep :( But if we had earthquakes here  I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be getting much sleep afterward either! Good job getting that Fit Test done. I'll do mine tomorrow. I was lol'ing about your hot flash story yesterday, and then feeling grateful that I'm already past that :p I make a spinach and strawberry salad quite often and it is delish! The dressing is sweet though, with oil, white wine vinegar, sugar, poppy seeds and sesame seeds. I've had the same salad with a less sweet dressing and feta and you're right, that's an excellent combo too!

Ugh, I think the walls are ready for the second coat. Will bbl hopefully~

Woo Hoo back to say I'm not always as technically challenged as I think I am. DH and I bought a wireless router and USB adapter a month or so ago and it has been sitting around 'cuz I figured I wouldn't be able to install it myself. Well . . . "my snail computer" (I typically am on the one that is the dial up connection) is flying faster than I can believe. Yeppers, this chick did it all by herself. Actually I had check online previously and it seemed like a pain in the behind showing all the computer network #'s etc. but the software that came with it was very simple and quick.

I am happy to say that I can now access all the websites I want to since DH has some kind of blocking going on with the other "DSL connected" computer in the bedroom. Well la di da now as he hasn't been on this computer since it is the slow one. Woo Hoo - sorry you probably don't share my excitement here but I'm sharing anyway ! :p

Jen - another one biting the dust and freshening up the house huh? Hopefully it will motivate your son to keep it cleaner for at least a little bit? Guess I have procrastinated enough getting my spackling and painting done so better get a move on. Nice job on the run y'day and we have 2 days 'til we start Insanity so you'll get your fit test in. It is quite fun - I do believe I was using good form and did nearly as many as the girl in the workout at the beginning. Will be fun to see the progress in 60 days !

Off I go again - at least when I come back it will be a faster checkin from here on out !
