Daily Check-in
I survived Step Blast this morning. This was the first time in almost a year that I have attempted to do Step Blast in its entirety. I did not bond with this workout the first few times I tried it last year. I was ready to give up on it when I bought the Timesaver DVD and discovered that I enjoyed doing one combination at a time. It dawned on me today why this is not my favorite step workout. There is way too much repetition for my taste. I prefer workouts with less teaching time. I mastered the fast foot repeater for the first time, but I struggled through the third combination and kept ending up on the wrong side of the step. In my opinion, this choreography is far trickier than any other Cathe workout I own. I was tempted to skip the challenge. I am so glad I persevered because that turned out to be my favorite part of the whole workout. I had a blast literally. I love the finished combinations with no breakdown. I had fun and sailed through even the third combination. I am not sure why I have a hard time following the third combination while Cathe is teaching it. I did the third blast on my rebounder and got a great workout. This is definitely one of Cathe’s more intense step workouts. I like Step Blast, but it does not rock my world like Rhythmic Step and Step Works. It kicks my butt, but it does not comfort me or make me happy. I am not wild about the music either. I will likely use the challenge in the future for a short but intense workout or combine it with the step segment from Step, Jump, & Pump.
I went to the club after work and jogged in the pool. I am looking forward to enjoying Step, Jump, & Pump in the morning. It is one of my favorite workouts of all time.
My eating was great again today. Today was a cardio day fueled by plenty of carbs:
Breakfast: Uncle Sam cereal, organic strawberries and blueberries and blackberries, almond milk
Snack: organic celery, natural peanut butter, organic apple
Lunch: corn tortillas, organic pinto beans, organic brown rice (steamed), lettuce, salsa
Snack: organic yogurt smoothie, organic banana
Dinner: baby lima beans (steamed), broccoli (steamed), Parmesan cheese, pink navel orange
My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow, and I am ready to wrap up this day.
Blessings,
Heather B.
