Daily Check-in
Happy Valentine’s Day! I am halfway through the first 90 days of this year, and I am still in the race! Even after a small stumble earlier this week, I am still pleased with my progress.
I woke up at 4:00 a.m. to another cold morning. I did not want to get up and move, so I curled up under my favorite quilt with my Bible. I returned to my Breaking Free Bible study this morning.
Lent does not officially begin until next Wednesday, but I started a 40-day journey today. I am refocusing and changing my priorities for a season. I believe God is calling me to fast the big Cs (cheese, chocolate, and clutter) for 40 days. I am also turning my schedule upside down and bumping the other big C (my beloved Cathe workouts) to the evening hours. I want to put first things first and focus on Bible study and prayer during this season. It will be good for me to be still and know that He is God.
Debbie (my co-worker) gave me a Dove chocolate rose for Valentine’s Day. I was not tempted for a second. I have committed this season to the Lord. The chocolate will still be there in 40 days. I am also hoping to clear as much clutter as possible out of my home by the end of this 40 days. I have so much paper clutter. It is unbelievable. That will be my weekend project.
This was a good day with no cravings for dairy and no temptation to indulge in junk. I ate natural peanut butter on my Ezekiel bread tonight instead of cream cheese. Yummy!
I went to the club after work and jogged in the pool then did Rhythmic Step later tonight. It is going to be a big sacrifice and challenge for me to save my Cathe workouts for after work. I love starting my day with her! This workout was so much more intense tonight. I could tell that my heart rate was higher too. I am such a morning girl. This schedule change will be a good way to shock my body. I will definitely be ready to return to my morning Cathe workouts in April. I hope my body acclimates to evening workouts soon. Cathe energizes me earlier in the day, but she wiped me out tonight. I did perk up during the challenge. That is my favorite part of the workout! Fun, fun, fun!
I am very tired tonight. I want to start getting more sleep at night, and that will be a priority too. I started over again with my Bible reading in Genesis and hope to read as much as possible before Easter.
I am excited about this next chapter of my journey. Working out with Cathe after work will be my greatest challenge. As my pastor encourages me, I will do it as a discipline until it becomes a delight.
Jane, you are so funny. That is a very creative use for a gun safe!
Conni, what you do think of Marcus Irwin?
Blessings,
Heather B.
