Daily Check In - Sunday, February 5, 2006

FiddleFit

Cathlete
This can't be right! I'm the first one checking in? Where is everyone? I'm in almost the last time zone, so it's gotta be fairly late in the day for many of you already. Do you all have wonderful things going on today?

Last night I did a delicious workout. I did the first 4 premixes off of High Step Training Advanced, back to back:

1. warm up
2. all the cardio blasts
3. cardio and lower body
4. cardio and upper body
stretch.

Oh my! This workout was about 85 minutes long, and quite a doozer!
The third time through the cardio (after all that lower body work) was really tough. Call me crazy, but I loved it. My legs and hip flexors are really talking to me this morning. Today is a rest day for me. Tomorrow I'm going to do GS chest in the morning. I'm feeling a little trepidatious....

Hello to anyone who posts today! Have a great day!
Sandra

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

Today I am planning on CardioCoach#3 (my favorite of all the CC's) and AbRipperX. My right hip is really hurting this morning, so I don't know if I'll make it through the workout or not. An early morning call to the chiropractor is in store for me tomorrow morning.

Sandra: Wow! That is one doozy of a workout! Enjoy your rest day today with your sweet family!

Hello to all that follow...have a great day and enjoy the SuperBowl! I personally watch only for the commercials and the half-time goodies:9 :9 :9 !

Morning everyone!

Sandra - wowzers! That sounds totally insane. No wonder you're taking a rest day today. I'll have to try that mish-mosh sometime when I'm feeling brave!

Tammy - my left hip is hurting this morning. Coincidence???:p

Yesterday I did RS and triceps as planned. I'm not sure what to do today, as it was supposed to be a running, but the many-mile-an-hour winds and driving snow sort of put the kaibosh on that plan.

I might do a mish-mosh of Imax 3 and Lowmax blasts. Legs are also on the agenda.

Holy Toledo Sandra!!! What a workout!!!! You are doing great!!

Tammy and Shelley...sorry about the hip pain....I notice it also in my left hip after a long run if I am on pavement. Trails don't seem to affect it! I am lucky if I get desparate my Chiro lives on the next block!! (My nephew)...:)

So I am doing a 16 mile trail run and then making some Chipotle Black Bean dip to take to my sister's for the Super Bowl! I think this one is too close to call and although I like the commercials too....I will be watching the game...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football5.gif[/img]

Have a great day...:)...Carole

Hello Sandra, Tammy, Shelly and Carole:

Sandra - Wow what a work out!

Tammy and Shelly sorry to hear about the pain :(

Carole you are amazing!

I went for few mile walk yesterday and a little lifting. I just didn't feel up to a regular workout. Maybe today or tomorrow. I know when I come back this week it will be with a vengance. In hindsight should have probably taken last week as a rest week. I find my body does best with those a few times a year. I started my come back 4 mos ago so the timing was right.

Bobbi - Nice to see you in this check-in.

Annette - you are doing awesome. I know it takes awhile to come back but you are doing awesome. Good thoughts to you and your Dad.

Hail, Sandra! Queen of the Mean, Killer workout!

Carole, what can I say? I wish I could run side by side with you but I am there in spirit.

Thank you, Robyn. This will help me remain motivated. The more I work out the more I love it and want more.

Good morning, Shelley. Rhytmic Step was one of two workouts I never conquered. All Step was the other although I did okay with it laast try. You dance, so of course, you are a natural. I have two left feet.

I did KPC this morning and the ab work was effortless. I am completely in love with Kickboxing since I can take out some of the impact and still get a heart pumping, sweaty workut. The very last combo confounds me and I was beat by the time I was done but it's an amazing workout. I have Power Circuit and TS 5 on the agenda for tomorrow. I will need a rest day soon but I'll know when it's rest day day. I am on a roll and I want to keep right on rolling. It's so much fun to check in with you guys. You are all so wonderful and I am grateful for the opportuity to get to hang out iwth you in cyber space.

Evening ladies,

Sandra, HSTA is still a virgin on my shelf. How does it compare to Boot Camp?
Tammy, don't you just love CC? I like them all! I just downloaded no. 5 today!
Tammy, Shelley, what have you two been doing?
Carole, 16miles! wow, and on a trail! I'm definitely not in your league!
Robyn, where will your daughter be this week?

Well, I did a 14.6K run this afternoon (was waiting for the weather to get better, but it didn't). I'm still a really really slow runner. Took me a whole 1h44.
When I got home I added GS-Legs/33min timesaver. My legs feel great. I was in need of food though (I burned 1233cals on the run only and my body let me know). So I had me a "big dinner".

I'll be cutting back on the intensity the coming week. I'll be in a race next Sunday (12.5K).

BTW I'm officially an Open University running team member. We're participating in a student run on 9 April. We'll be running a 10K. A team consists of 4 runners and our total time decides our placement. So I'll be focussing on speed after my upcoming race.

Dutchie ~ CardioCoach#5 is killer! That first challenge nearly wipes me out and then there is still more after that! Good Luck!

Hi Everybody!

I did an afternoon workout today........45 min. (4 mile) jog on treadmill and CM #2. It's not much compared to everyone else's marathon workouts! YIKES!

Tammy, I'm thinking about getting Cardio Coach (package 3,4& 5)....do you reccomend it?? Could I use it on the treadmill AND the stationary bike??

Hope everyone enjoys the SuperBowl tonight. I'm not a football fan, but I do watch the SB every year. :D

Thank you Robyn...:)...it is good also to get in some rest, I tend to put that off but when I have a rest day I do always feel better the next day!

Bobbi...way to go with KPC! I am with you and your love of kickboxing, it is quite fun. I think you were there in spirit during my run...I might be getting too old for this stuff!!!

Dutchie...I bet you could have done this 16 miler today...we walked ALOT. Good luck on the race next sunday and congrats! on your becoming an Open University running team member....:)

The weather for my run was way windy!!! The course was tough but with some walking added, I survived the 16 miles...

Now off to make some Chipotle Bean dip for the Superbowl...:)...Carole

Becky ~

I have used CC on the treadmill and I have also used them when I run outside. I would imagine you could use them on the stationary bike if you are able to change your resistance and speed on the bike.

I have all 5 volumes and 3,4 & 5 are the most challenging, but I still use 1 & 2 when I am time challenged. I just love listening to Coach Sean through the headphones...it is as if he is right there in the room with me pushing me on.

HTH!

Good afternoon everybody....

I did a 45 minute run this afternoon and segment #1 of CoreMax sans levitation holds, I try them but no dice!

Hi Bobbi - Thanks for the kickbox idea. I am going to try a week of just Kickbox cardio. Today was CK.

For the lifting I'll either do S&H or GS.

Dutchie - good luck with the race. My DD is staying in Roune this week! 2/10 is the next excursion perhaps Brussels.

Felt great in my workout! I feel silly about getting so down about the ill fated drinks on Monday and not making it through to the next round on the job. Sorry guys!

Becky and Jane - hello!

Enjoy the super bowl this should be a good one. My son has SAT prep until 8:00 (ET) he is NOT happy ;)

I do love kickboxing. It makes me feel so strong and muscular. I love that I can stay low impact for most of a workout and still really kick my heart rate up and sweat like crazy. I particularly love how it gets into the shoulders, an area I struggle with. It's becoming one of my favorite forms of cardio.
