Daily Check In Sunday, April 1st

Conni

Cathlete
Good morning everyone,

First let me say this is not an April Fools Joke. My DH, an MS patient, has been rushed to the hospital. He had surgery a few weeks ago to replace an implant that basically helped him to walk and function. He has contracted a major infection and now they have to remove everything that they did, plus try to deal with the infection. We do not know how bad the situation is until they go in, and that could be today or tomorrow. His surgeon is flying home today to get the "team" involved. We are at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the best facilities anywhere, which is a comfort, but the situation is serious. Believe it or not, I am working out this morning before going in the hospital. My workouts and my DS are my sanity right now, I am afraid.
Prayers are greatly appreciated.

I think I will try to do Rob's Cardio Fusion today.
Have a blessed Palm Sunday.

{{{{{{Conni}}}}}} Your DH and your whole family will be in my prayers!! Yes, if you have time to do it, a workout is perfect to release some of that stress you are feeling and help you focus better. Keep us informed.

Tammy - I emailed CC... I'll let you know when I get a response.

Today's workout is that mishmost step w/o from Step Heat, Step Max, and step only from SJP. Tomorrow I will finish the rotation with ME and look forward to starting the April rotation on Wed after my rest day. It looks good!

CONNIE ! I'm so sorry this is happening to your DH and your family!
I am praying very hard for all of you. he IS in an excellent facility and I know you will feel much better when his doctor is there and the team is in place .
I agree that you are very smart to workout when you can fit it in, because you need to take care of yourself now too.

I did not get to ME(last workout of the March rotation) and I feel like I am cheating if I take a rest day today before starting another rotation. What do you think?
I did fit in a 40 minute walk, so it wasn't a total "rest day" and I painted until 9:00 last night, so I definitely was active. Still......it wasn't a weight workout and I feel like it's cheating.
:-(

What's everyone thinking for April? Are you doing Cathe's rotation?

I need to look closer at it, just had a minute last night and glanced over it.

Today is a rest day, (but still working on the room) or, if guilt wins.......I will be doing ME !

Have a good one.
Connie , please keep us posted when you can. Hugs

Good morning Becky!

You may not have done ME but I'm sure you got in an endurance (UB and LB) workout with all that painting! I say just do what you are comfortable doing. You know I'm the wrong one to ask! I'm the queen of guilt!:p

I'm doing the April rotation. I always love it when the GS's and the Pyramids are mixed up with cardio.

Daily Check-in

Good morning! Happy Palm Sunday to those who celebrate. Happy April Fool’s Day to everyone else. For those who are attending the Road Trip, can you believe that we will be working out together and enjoying our Sunday morning brunch 19 weeks from this morning? I am starting a new rotation this morning and decided to plan my workouts for 2 weeks at a time. Since recovery weeks do not work for me, I am returning to 5 days of Cathe workouts every week with a rest day and an active recovery day (a Kari Anderson or Christi Taylor hi-lo workout or some other form of gentle cardio plus a TLT) as well as running in the pool at the club a few nights a week. Mom and her husband are planning to spend Mother’s Day weekend with me. That gives me 40 days of super clean eating before they arrive so I can enjoy a few treats during my vacation with them. This is my general game plan for my Cathe Road Trip rotation:

Sunday morning - step or interval step (Cathe)
Monday morning - cardio plus lower body or lower body circuit (Cathe)
Tuesday morning - cardio plus upper body or upper body circuit (Cathe)
Wednesday morning - kickboxing (Cathe)
Thursday morning - total body circuit (Cathe)
Friday morning - rest
Saturday morning - hi-lo (Kari or Christi) plus functional fitness (Jen or Tracie)

It is time to flip your Cathe calendar again. I love the “Work, Work!” motto for this month. That is exactly what I need to do. March was not a good month for me. I finished my recovery week yesterday, and I am so ready to return to my beloved Cathe workouts this morning. My name is Heather. I am addicted to Cathe cardio. I have withdraws when I do not get my fix. Cathe can put me on permanent preorder.

By the way, I fasted chocolate and cheese for 40 days and did not drop a pound. I gained 4 pounds during my recovery week and gained an inch in my chest, an inch in my waist, an inch in my abdomen, and an inch in my hips. I enjoyed a few treats this past week, so my eating was not as clean as it has been. Feel free to give me a kick in the butt. It is not really necessary because I am good at falling on my butt and bouncing back again. The party is over. It is time to start training for the Cathe Road Trip. My weight and measurements have been recorded. A friend and I are getting together early this morning to take progress pictures before my morning workout.

This is the dawn of a new month. Spring has arrived, and bluebonnets are blanketing the beautiful Texas landscape. (I added a picture of bluebonnets to my avatar for everyone to enjoy!) I am ready to break free from this fat cocoon. Yes, it is time. Saddle up your horses and get ready for a great and glorious adventure. Come along if you dare! Let’s train hard this month! Some of us are training for the Road Trip, and all of us are training for life!

Conni, hugs and prayers to you. My friend who is taking my pictures this morning is one of my prayer partners. Prayers will be going up for you and your husband this morning.

Jane, I saw those limited edition Hershey bars last night but did not buy one. If you want to be my friend and tell me about things like this, you need to ask God to send me a husband with a gun safe! I would be a danger to myself with a chunk of chocolate that size in my possession. I enjoyed a piece of lemon drop cheesecake yesterday afternoon and a small piece of Dove dark chocolate last night.

Tammy, I sent you a long e-mail last night. Check your inbox! Yesterday was a beautiful spring day with no sign of the recent storm (other than the stream outside my window that was not there a few days ago).

Blessings,
Heather B.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1 NIV).

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

I'm starting the April rotation today, so today it is GS Legs and B&G stability ball abs. I may tack on the bonus cardio just to see what it is like:eek:

Conni: (((HUGS))) and prayers for you, your DH and DS. Don't feel guilty about working out....it is what has kept me sane during my Mom's never ending ICU stay. We're here for you!

Jane: That mish-mosh looks fun...I hope you get good news from CC customer service.

Becky: Nah...I don't consider it cheating. I missed a workout on last month's rotation and never found the time to make it up so I just moved on. Move on my friend!:7

Heather: Got your email and responded. March wasn't good to me either....April here we come!

Good Morning Ladies.

Today is my rest day and the close of week 11 of the X! I have one more week until the final recovery! I can't believe I am going to make it through! WOOH!:)

((((CONNI)))): Prayers, thoughts, and hugs coming your family's way! I agree about working out! If it helps you get through this then definately DO IT!!!

Those of you beginning Cathe's April rotation, HAVE FUN! You all are making me flirt with the idea of doing a Cathe rotation before giving BBC a shot! And I thought I had it all figured out! AAAAH! LOL :p .... Actually...I'll be finishing the X half way through April so maybe I'll do BBC for 2 weeks and then I can do Cathe's May rotation with y'all!:7

Have a good day!:)

Hello! I just joined today. I thought it would be a good day to check-in with you since it's April Fool's Day. :7 LOL! I am BelovedHeather's friend. :) I just took her progress pictures this morning. Taking pictures of Heather every month is my new hobby. :7 LOL!

I am hoping to get on board with Cathe as soon as I open the box. Heather took me to Target last June to buy the Cathe step and DVDs. They are still in the box. No, this is not an April Fool's joke. :7 I previewed Kick Max at Heather's place and want to know if Cathe knows she is not a rabbit with all that jumping she does. That girl bounces around like a bunny rabbit on crack! I'm scared of Cathe!

I am a slow loser, but there is more of me to love. ;-)

Heather looks so good. :) She is shrinking, but her shoe collection is growing. My next hobby is to do a shoe-vention! :7

I do not have time to check in every day. Please keep Heather in line for me!

Good day to all;
Today is a rest day for me and tommorrow I start Cathe's April Rotation.
I printed it up last night and taped it right next to my Cathe calender, so I'm ready to start. I have my Cathe calender right next to my bed - it's very motivating and reminds me of my fitness goals every day :).

Need to drop off my oldest dd at work then we are going to get groceries, that should be interesting with my 8 yr old - we always tend to buy more when she shops with us lol.

* Conni - I'm am so sorry about your hubby having to go into the hospital - here's hoping the staff takes very good care of him and that the infection gets taken care of quickly - prayers going out to you both.

* Jane - I did that mish mosh on Friday and it was nice - enjoy!

* Becky - don't knock yourself for not following the rotation as is - I do it to myself also but sometimes life gets in the way. I know if I don't fit my workout early in the day and won't do it and then I tear myself up for the rest of the day - that in itself does nothing for me. So just move on and do what you can - painting and walking was your workout - not what you had planned but you moved your body - right? :)

* Heather sounds like you have a good plan - those blue bonnets are pretty.

* Tammy - if you tack on the bonus cardio let me know what you think. I'm not sure about running up and down stairs but I'll try it out when the day calls for it. Have fun!

* rebeccarose welcome - I came back to daily checkins after a big long break lol

* Wendy, Phyllis and all who follow - have a great day! Maybe you'll join the rest of us that are starting the April rotation! :7

Rebeccarose: Welcome to our little corner of Cathe dot com :7

Vilma: I only lasted through one round of the Bonus cardio - but then again, I don't think it was wise to try it after GS Legs....LOL!

Ouch lol -
I was thinking that I may do the cardio portion 1st then the weights, I may alternate every other week, you know weights then cardio and back again - since my main goal is weight loss. Hmmm things to ponder.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, I appreciate your strength.
Surgery is set for tomorrow, and then we will see how bad it is. They did diagnosis the infection as Staph, which can go to the brain, but the antibiotics they are pumping him with seem to be holding things steady. If nothing crazy happens tonight, we should know more by tomorrow evening.
I will be checking in early tomorrow, doing some work, and then off to the Clinic I go. ( I may need a loan by the time this is over, between the cost of parking and food I am paying some doctors salary!);-)
